I already get PMs asking me how I have 5-6 clones up at once lol….I think (ironically) what will actually come of this confusion nerf, is that people will really start QQing moar about the classes that are getting checked by confusion now….Meaning, lets call a spade a spade: there are a lot of thieves licking their chops/posting in this thread, because confusion slows them down…As one poster said: Mesmers are the natural predator of thieves and stop them from just running around unchecked.

But is it more than just thieves and wouldn’t be fair to place the spotlight on them….D/D eles, HB/Haste/Zerker warrs (yes for some reason they still exist), previously mentioned thieves, shatter mesmers even, and some ranger specs will be getting “nerf spotlight” real soon I bet. I know I personally target many of these classes when I see them as their builds can be hard to deal with for the average WvW player. So confusion usually slows them down enough to play at a speed that is more manageable. Like I said before, confusion didn’t hamper me in sPVP when I tried it, so I will hope that this remains true.

But I also fully expect to see more and more posts complaining about these and other builds more frequently soon after the confusion nerf.

I was told by the Gods Of Glicko that post in T7 that SF would be here another week barring any drastic changes. We would love to have a new 1/3 to love on up here!

yeah.. im GoM.. was too lazy to make a sig but i did now. i remember when SF was tanking through the tiers and when you were in t7 ( dont know if you were with SF then ) GoM won those matches. eventually you dropped to t8 and of course kaineng steam rolled through the tiers killing the glicko system. more like a glitcho system after all that happened. since then SF has gotten much stronger and with a higher player base. of course the score would show you being t6 server ( possibly even t5 ) but i think alot of GoM would still love to match up with SF to test ourselves and for the hard fight.

Nah I was not with them back then, and yes SF has gotten stronger, some from the days of free transfers others with just natural player progression….Do not believe the hype about us, we are fairly nice folks that would love to have a matchup with you guys/gals. We only get testy when disrespected on the forums, like I said we hope to see y’all soon! GGs have fun peeps.

Great fight at NSP hill yesterday night. I was the one on the different arrow carts and I had to build 3-4 since you guys kept destroying mine. =( BTW I didn’t know that pull you guy used to take me out of the cart every 30-35 sec had such a great range I was lucky to be able to take a few hits and get back on it ASAP. HoD all the night I was watching the map hoping you guys would have been able to take your keep back.

BTW our keep in EB as been took by SF again but they don’t have the WP in here yet wall are tier3.

So for two servers that claim to have such clarity of what this game is really about, I and others find it moderately hilarious that you bring up the tier talk over and over and over….Then you go to the “devine intervention” joke, which in reality makes you look like the kid walking home after he got his kitten handed to him saying, “I could’ve beat them but my shoe was untied”….When that has nothing to do, according to your own drivel, about what the game is really about.

In closing, I will make a sweeping statement for all of you mouth-breathers to read and comprehend (doubtfully): We do not care if we get stuck here, your whining makes our boredom subside, and re-motivates us to farm your e-tears….Secondly, stop challenging us to leave a tier, and perhaps challenge your pitiful selves to stand up and fight, for all of the hate spewed between us and ET/FC, at the very least they did not roll over and die, in fact toward the end they got much better…..I will hangup and listen now, but will not hold my breath that you come back with something remotely realistic.

Its funny that I said something along the lines of we are missing like 25% of our core players due to whatever reason…AND everyone of you noobs took it like I was taking some “we are taking it easy on you”….When really, i can understand your point, as I as responding to a noob that thought it would be funny to make out like we dont deserve to be here…..But what I was really going for was: we should be doing better, but this matchup is killing our morale as it is boring, we are winning by shear numbers at the moment and not really needing to “play WvW” IE: cap/defend/push BLs etc. IF you want a judge of what SF really can be then I suggest you take your gauge of us at late Friday night (reset) and all day saturday into that night…Not on Wednesday afternoon.

Using the latest updates for mos.millenium.org, the current difference between SF and NS kitten 6,908 points. At around this time on Wednesday of last week’s matchup, the point difference between SF and NSP was 44,930 points.

To be fair, SF is also doing slightly worse, while HoD is doing noticeably worse due to lack of participation.

Attempting to look at things objectively, it would seem that the primary reason that SF isn’t moving up this week is the recent shift in T6, not how well NSP may or may not be performing. Darkhaven went from a 113,000 point average lead over T6’s second place server starting from May 30th to a 37,000 point lead, resulting in large rating gains for IoJ and DR. That plays a larger role since SF is still gaining rating in this tier (more than what was gained last week), but the rating target that needs to be reached is being pushed further away by events in T6.

Maybe you guys should turn on that QQ that got you into T7 in the first place. Rumor has it , that if you cry enough they will move you up a tier without earning it.

Imagine that.

You do realize that we are just laying junk all over you guys on teh scoreboard, and at least 25% of our core player-base is on a vacation for whatever reason….WE ARE LITERALLY ON CRUISE CONTROL. Yep I was surprised as to how many people actually read the forums myself….Also another thing I see a ton of is anytime there is an enemy zerg there’s always someone with the: “there’s one of those famous T7 small roaming groups”.

I have been running solo all week, with the score situation there is no need to worry with capping etc, so have been able to roam quite a bit. Spent last night capping camps on NSP BL, and subsequently getting ganked for doing so lol. Good fun though and had a couple of good fights…Just have to remember not to fight around HoD spawn as PAXA will wipe ya up if they see you, just as they say, got obliterated last night by 3 or so of them while I was dueling a thief…I told said thief to give them a message, doubt he did lol.

You can read about it in the T7 thread, if you can stand sifting through trolling long enough to find it. Short version: Zombieland [WvW] is transferring to GoM. So your former ET buddies will still be on HoD when they drop to T8.

They seem to have had more than just WvW leave, but could be wrong…Their participation is worse than we ever saw from any opposition in T8…There are whispers of them holding out of WvW to purposely drop down to T8… But those are only whispers since that is “match fixing” apparently.

I ran by their spawn the other day and like the day before, there was a group of people there farming badges from them as all 6-10 of them were running out of spawn (EB).

Just wanted to send a shoutout to NSP and HoD, it has been an interesting matchup. Went stale unfortunately pretty fast, also not sure what exactly is going on with HoD but the lack of effort and/or participation is fairly evident.

Props to both servers for making it seem like SF are the “good guys”, I feel as though we should send you both to some Dr. Phil sessions….Also we can safely say that those “legendary T7 small roaming groups” loosely translate into: “we think 3-5 v 1-2 is better than 20v5” (ironyyyyyyyyyyy).

In all seriousness, this has been awfulllllllllllllllllllll, and I do mean aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwfulllllllllllll….Only interesting thing as been the new tactics that come with each tier, the truly good players you guys do really have, and backcapping stuff that NSP euro kids have been day capping.

Farewell T7, as it looks as if those with their degree in glicko-ology are saying we are headed for T6 this week…Not sure myself, but I rarely look at that stuff.

I also want to add one more thing, if you think I am coming on here arguing because this is gonna kill my build, then you are mistaken. I was curious about that a few weeks back. So I even ventured into sPVP (like I said previously) and to be honest I noticed little difference. In fact, my shatter/confusion build seemed to be just about as effective in sPVP as it is in WvW. Now the glamour AoE stuff, maybe it will suffer but I do not run it so I couldn’t say.

My argument is more with the system of people jumping on forums like this, and QQing it up to the point where Mama ANET has to come in and do something about it….We have seen so many times, look at the current reset times for example. Enough EU people complained that it got changed, that is a separate issue but still goes to my point….People: grow a pair and stop coming on here QQing to try and get the game fit to your playstyle, just because you cannot handle something does not make it OP.

Just because class X cannot kill class Y 10 out of 10 times does not make class Y OP….You people will not be happy with a game until they create just one class, with one set of base skills, any variance within a game is seen as either being OP or UP (underpowered) to people like you.

I will say it again, nerf confusion all you want, I will still kill noobs that do not run away…It is a fact, then you will be back on here saying “confusion is still OP” but then you will have to find another “spin” to put on it.

Confusion was meant to be coupled with the fact that Mesmers do not always do great DPS, and those that do are so squishy the build is not viable in most WvW applications. Mesmers frustrate other players, and that is what they are supposed to do. We might not 1-shot you, but if you want to hang around and try us then you will get slowly killed while we just try to frustrate your day.

At the risk of backtracking…If I remember correctly one of the key issues from the OP was that confusion wasn’t a priority on cleanse.

Not pointing that at the OP, but it did get me thinking of the bigger picture again….You guys realize that at the end of the day we are talking about a “condition” that does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING unless you trigger it? I mean, I agree the proc on the dodge rolls traits is overboard, but this is likely a bug more than anything else, as the coding on the traited skill probably comes across as the same of a manually activated skill.

It is FAR likely that ANET even put Confusion as a low priority cleanse because of the fact that it is relatively harmless if recognized early on. Whereas poison, bleeds, etc, proc whether the player activates skills or not. So again, I would say that if I had a skill that removed 3 conditions, I would still want it to target Fire>Bleed>Poison even before confusion.

Again, not to beat a dead horse, but I can run away with 10 stacks of confusion on me and still take moderate amounts of DPS from a chasing player, however if I have 10 stacks of bleed and I am taking DPS from that same player the damage I incur would be much worse.

I think the problem is that people do not want to be handcuffed by confusion and more so, do not want to “retreat” from a fight, so they are arguing this thing to death in an attempt to be able to “cast through” confusion without penalty just as you could do with bleeds/fire/poison etc. Again, this is an issue to where people just do not understand the mechanic, or flatout like I just said: want it nerfed for personal gains.

The same exact thing happened in GW1 with lockdown/shutdown mesmers and again even then ANET had to intervene on the part of “squeaky wheels”, even though then just as now there were workarounds already built into the game.

The fact that it has been proven/stated in this thread that a few classes can iradicate/return confusion, and other can flatout cleanse it (shout warriors with soldiers runes for example) for the most part. Couple that with the posted stats showing that condition dmg affects it just the same as other conditions, and finally that it stacks accordingly when compared to other conditions (bleeds etc), should all be proof enough that it is fine as is.

• Costs next to nothing
• Heals the target for ~10% of his / her base HP as well.

Would you be able to list a similar skill in GW2? You won’t. And this is why I don’t believe you played GW1 extensively. Trying to justify GW2 mechanics by comparing them to GW1 mechanics is not possible, because of how different the combat systems were.

Like my warrior, you can trait (name escapes me) for it to use the “Shake it Off” skill, and then turn around and manually still use “Shake it Off”, if you have the soldiers runes you can pretty much stay condition free….

At the end of the day you can lob all of the elitist: I played moar GW1 kitten you want at me, but confusion only kills people that are too dumb to avoid attacking and spamming….You cannot kill someone with confusion alone, they have to kill themselves. That is a fact jack!

Where as a nub thief (and yes I have one) can just pretty much spam HS and get 8k crits on people with 3k armor, which is truly a broken mechanic.

The problem with you L2P people is that you think that you should always be able to beat anyone, anytime in a 1v1 and that’s just simply not the case. But FAILNET will come in and bail your sorry butts out every chance they get because the “squeaky wheel gets the grease”…Where in reality you should just learn to run away sometimes and chalk it up to a build you cant beat, or (le gasp) find a way to win (L2P).

Well they got culling/haste fixed….Confusion was next, after that I am guessing the nerf-dogs next target will be backstab thieves…People just won’t be happy until they whine enough to get FAILNET to come in and save their bad playing selves….IF confusion is killing you then, you fail, plain and simple….Now sometimes you get stuck with confusion and cant just run away, sucks don’t it…Sometimes I get stuck with 10 stacks of bleed and cleanse/heals both on CD, that sucks for me and sometimes I die.

I want that nerfed, in fact I want it nerfed to where no one dies, no one even goes down. We can just run around and do no dmg to each other and all get participation trophies at the end of the week.

IDK maybe I am crazy, maybe we spent so much time in T8 worrying with the score and holding/capping points that it is just burnout talking. I spent the greater part of my weekend on my mesmer just running around looking for duels/harrassing groups of opposing players as much as possible.

I tried following the groups a few times, but I mean kitten you can only cap Mendon’s 1000times before it becomes…well painful, so eventually I would wander off again looking for some pvp…..

I had some fun late Saturday night with some NSPs trying to build siege up on that tower that you guys love so much by your keep, pulling people down with a focus mesmer never seems to get old. Even partied up with a few NSPs over the weekend and had some fun duels/chats, you guys were pretty cool.

Also got ROFLstomped a few times by a PAXA group of 2-3 (might have been 2 and a random), also saw some XOXO’s out and about and a ton of others. Keep up the good fights!

One negative to say: Those trebs at the HoD spawn, that is bullkitten and you guys know it, yeah I know it sucks that you couldn’t get your keep back, but exploiting for the sake of “because it works” is still kinda sissyfied.

Like others have said you pretty much need to load them up on conditions, also if playing as a necro the Corrupt Boon skill is quite nice if you time it right….

I am surprised no one has said much about D/D eles, maybe I do not play mine enough (lvl 42), but the ones I see in WvW seem to be tanky/regen all day long, granted I do not understand them as well as I probably should…But it seems like they can keep boons up a lot easier than some other classes (with some exceptions of course).

Queues down to tier 6/7 ? What fantasy world are you living in. Hardly any queues on all maps outside t1/2 with the possible exception of yaks bend and maguuma who have a strong na core.

I would point out that on reset SF (T7- at the moment, formerly T8 for infinity), has queues ranging from 30 minutes – 1+hrs….Now that is not every map like your highest tiers, but can be 3 out of 4 maps on reset. And then EB pretty much has a queue the rest of the weekend during your “primetime” NA hours….Sprinkled in there are some sporadic queues, during coordinated rushes on certain BLs etc.

So saying that lower-mid tiers do not have queues is a false statement….Just because some do not experience them (whether their server doesn’t have the population, or they play at off-peak times), does not mean that they do not exist.

Lets face the facts. Sf PVdoor’d for 3 months in tier 8, couldn’t even get out of tier 8 without massive QQing from thier server to Anet. There is no wonder why you guys just aren’t good. Gates don’t hit back.

One more tidbit , it seems your karma/xp/wxp trains from your first week here are gone. My guess is they can’t stand the stomach of the express waypoint service we at NSP provide. Therefore your weekday population is slowly dwindling.

I feel with each week we are getting stronger, can you say the same ?

I just think it is a bit ironic so many high and mighty souls are on here trumpeting the cause of those NA/SA/Canadian peoples stuck in queues and unable to play all this time before the change, while telling others that just because you were able to get into WvW during the previous reset times, you should be grateful and just learn to like the fact that you can’t now but your server-mates can.

Nice try, especially that last bit. Except we’re talking about something that’s good for our community as a whole (and pointing out that the likely impact on your community doesn’t compare to the impact that the reset time had on ours), while some (but not all) NA people are just griping about what fits themselves as individuals.

Like I said there is no “try”, I did not have any agenda other than to point out the hypocrisy involved with getting on here and trying to justify to people that the screwing they took on the biggest night they enjoyed a game, was justified due to the screwing you took for “so many months”….My point is, that someone is doing that screwing and it aint NA/EU, so instead of getting on here writing novels that essentially have the “we suffered, now you suffer” tone, why not get on here and support each other and blast ANET with your feedback….

If your house gets robbed twice in a month, and then the next month it’s your neighbor, you don’t walk across the street and say: “Well Bob, that sucks for you buddy, but I got it twice last month so now you know how it feels….” Bob didn’t want you to get robbed, just like NA didn’t want you guys to have a crappy reset, these were things that were out of our control, hence shouldn’t be “punished” for it now.

Also, before the ANET apologists come with their flamethrowers: Yes I realize the ANET guy (I do not know him, so I am not calling him out by name like we are beer drinking buddies like some of you do…)said they are on it, that is awesome, but we all know in life and especially with ANET: The squeaky wheel gets the grease!
