Ppl defending these runes are hilarious
Ppl who can’t be bothered to l2p are hilarious
as an ex glamour mesmer i gotta say that these runes are too powerful. our glam was never able to stack this fast, this high and this long lasting. we needed 8-10 mesmers to get up to a lot of confusion dmg like that.
the problem is that it gives 5 stacks for 15 sec per interrupts. when i was glam i would sometimes see 25 stacks ticking, but they never lasted longer than 1-3 secondsI didn’t know interrupts were immune to dodging.
wow, seriously. that is all u got to say to that? so u a re blind to acknowledge, that these runes are unbalanced. ok…we!
so out of your 7 interrupts i dodge 2 of them=5 left=25 stacks
by the time my dodge is ready again u have 2 mre interrupts. so yeah dodging all that is sooo easy. even if i manage to evade a few stacks, your class was able to stack confusion even without those runes..
i know not to spam my attacks with my mes, so no need to l2p as during glamtimes i was able to survive many many glambombs with no problem. little hint try to confuse a dolyak that is walking towards a keep(oh thats right 0 confusion ticks), but u have other attacks u can use next to the 25 confusion stacks. rune 6/6 needs a nerf.only because u found something op to play with, doesent make u more skilled then another player, so no need to lecture people to dodge.
I didn’t bother to read all that, it’s hot as fk here. You need to realise that every single dam time people whine and cry about something, there eventually is a counter. BS thieves, shatter mesmers, bunker eles and guardians, HB warriors… they all have a counter, but in the beginning people just whined and cried on the forums all day long. If you think this rune is any different you should just go play another game.
You should read it; he totally punks you.
Which makes me find your response hilarious.
Good day sir.
The missions need lots of polishing (they haven’t even received bug fixes since they’ve been out afaik) new people get left behind ALL THE TIME when my guild does them,(we mesmer port when we can; lots of areas have a no turning back point though) and always 1-10 people on the Ice Wall part (mostly people rezzing others).
We field anywhere from 30-80 players and we do them twice a week so I’ve seen some flaws in their design quite handily, the biggest bugs I see is the Ice Drake not aggroing at all effectively ruining the run and the Manor “gas chamber” buttons not working at all (funny how both of these are at the end of the puzzle hmm? -_-)
It’s been months Anet can you please fix your game instead of tossing out freshly bugged content every 2 weeks?
I also destroy them on sight with alts but on my main i just keep them stacked (he has the most space anyway), the way I see it taking up 1 inventory slot is worth saving me 2-3 seconds of deletion time every now and then.
He has 237 BL chests atm and I’ve only had 2 keys drop; been playing since launch lol.
In 2014 for 1600 gems, yes.
I’d still pay for that.
you and thousands others. I mean just look at the amount of ppl who bought the Flute oh gawd
Yeah it is a bit silly, but I would buy this only to change my main from norn to human than to wait an eternity for a camera fix/polish.
Most every rank system is a grind that only shows time played not skill in PvP games. Especially here since the rank points are the same for hotjoin and tpvp, make it like GW1 with different emotes (like /rank) for the different tiers but give the more “elite” modes like tpvp(like HA in GW1) much better/cooler ones to show off prestige and not a universal number.
(edited by KingClash.3186)
I’m on my way out from playing this game, all the new updates seem silly and the performance in this game is terrible. The game feels like a job and although I can be content at times with the game, I never have moments I consider “fun” anymore. I guess it was good while it lasted, now what to do with the 1000 gold I have saved up….
Make people jump through hoops for it ofc! Hold a questionnaire in LA or play hide and go seek.
Looks good overall but we have no idea of the affect it will have on game play so we can’t discuss it too thoroughly since none of it is set in stone so to speak.
Would love however if the tab target worked like in GW1 full 360 tab from closest to furthest with the target closest bind actually working 100% to “reset” the tab if you go too far or change position.
On a side note its funny that these informative posts usually appear after legit leaks become public.
They know these are really overpowered hence the reason they are not in sPvP, think on it.
2 issues.
Objective based modes are NOT a real pvp. Holding stuff =/= killing stuff. Which is one of the various reasons Spvp is failing hard, and in wvw you can see whole zergs waypoint out of towers where they’ve bunkered in to avoid fighting.
Second, at least in 20 vs. 20 you use your character, instead of an arrocart.
Tell me: How many competitive successful games use pure deathmatch? How many competitive successful games use 20 vs 20?
Not a single one. The ugly thing that calls itself GvG constructs an enviroment that renders invidividual skill irrelevant.
Tell me how this sPvP meta of passive traits, run of the mill builds, cooldown spam, and node camping/flipping (combat avoidance) allows individual skill to shine.
(Other than the top level perhaps and even then dodge spam wins since asurans have kitten attack animations.)
At least a TDM mode is literally PvP and we would get 1v1 balance and not whatever we have now.

Playing since Aug. 28th 2012
I’d say around 200-300g.
Those 4s WPs and 10s repairs make quite the nice gold sink over time.
Most of the bots I see these days are those teleporting node bots that you can’t even report unless you’re lightning quick; and few in deep water areas like Southsun.
But yeah its best to report them and then ignore them, don’t let them frustrate you.
I doubt they will even ban people for this (unless there are EXTREME cases), giving that they want E-Sports sooo much and banning people wouldn’t help their cause by making the least played game type even more underpopulated.
On weekdays, I’m never in a party. On weekends, I always am. I can’t say I see any difference in the amount, quality or anything else pertaining to loot from one to the other.
The only way being in a party would help is if the party as an entity got credit for damage to mobs/champs/vets, etc., and I know that everyone in my party doesn’t get loot at the same time, even though we are the same class, hitting the same monster with the same weapon. Unless it’s a foe with guaranteed loot, sometimes one will get loot, sometimes not.
The party loot tags only really apply to things like invasion farming, Grenth temple stuff like that; just fighting 1-3 mobs is nil since cleave weapons hit all 3 of them anyway.
On topic: No joining a party doesn’t give you MORE loot as in mobs will drop loot RNG is RNG, but it does give you more tags (more opportunity to get loot) if you’re using good AoEs like Warrior longbow F1 or Guardian’s staff auto attack.
When EXP. pops up over your head thats a tag a good indicator if you’re willing to test it.
Joining a party does share the tag credit (mind you the entire party needs to be tagging the same mobs and not running around the map all crazy like) you can test it yourself..
Just like I did back near launch when Orr farming was boss; make a full zerker class and go around tagging solo occasionally count the number of swings you put into a mob, for me on a warrior its normally 3-4 for credit.
Then do it while in a party and count the number of hits you give a mob for credit and for my warrior its 1-2.
You may miss loot here and there from counting and giving attention to what you’re trying to prove, but eh once you know.. Well then you know. For science!
(Crits may vary)

Just to make things clear, the fact that ANet doesn’t want to split the skills into 3 types(PvE,WvW,SPvP) is holding the balance back for everyone.
PvErs don’t want big changes ‘cause it took time and money to build their character, WvW same thing.
SPvP players doesn’t want big changes because they have not been tested properly and they just change the meta making other than the current proffesions OP and just whacking the balance around, never succiding it.So stop bashing PvP and WvW because everybody wants to split these 3 modes when it has to do with balance.
But why 3 types? Most of us just want 2 types of skill splitting PvE and sPvP, lets face it WvW is a zerg fest no 1 man will make a difference (other than the Sheppard) its pretty much PvE in ways.
When the devs think that the player base wants 3 whole unique types I can understand why they’re just like eff-that. Just splitting PvE and sPvP is more realistic and practical in the long run.

This would all be fixed if it was just permanent content, I know I know they really want to create a “living breathing world” by making it temporary but in the long run just scrapping that idea and continuing to do what they’re doing but make it permanent content would be tons better, and give people much needed space/breathing room.
Back to the “living breathing world” thing how does making SAB temporary contribute to a living breathing wold? It offers nothing to the story (same as much of the LS content imho) its purely there for a fun nostalgic time, whats the logic in it not being permanent?
Other than the 3 500 things you need which are time gated..
I already have all the other stuff x20 in my bank from normal game play.
The culprit is the time gated stuff the other mats are fine.
I wonder what most of these “OMG!?” types would do if they saw a screenshot of 10,000g? Other than call it “photo shopped” ofc lol.
It’s called playing the TP and the more you have the more you make, you can log in once a week and make tons of cash, OP isn’t necessarily a no-lifer I can see his post as a veiled joke to exaggerate the requirements that people are freaking out about for some reason.
Might be some profit here, but only if you already have stacks upon stacks of sprockets.
Every player in PAX should run the ridiculously common hot join/soloQQ BS builds like S/D Thief/Spirit Ranger/ 2 MM aoe spam Necros/Guardian just to make people go WTF is this?
I think at the very core, many people are against Ascended because it just adds more things to do without actually adding anything. Whenever a new item tier went up in WoW, it came with actual content like raids or maybe a new battlegrounds or a new dungeon. Combine this with the fact that we’ve seen little changes to the world and the game over these past few months (unless you consider things like champ bags substantial content), and the little we do get to see is temporary- well, you kinda understand the disappointment.
If they’d done something like open the Crystal Desert, make ascended mats drop from enemies there and the raw materials mine-able from nodes, then you’d see a lot less complaints, as getting the ascended would also be part of the exploration of these new parts of the game.
Sooo very much this!
Then people would complain of doing alot of work for nothing. That is way more unfair. The reward for completing it isnt much better than failing anyways.
Worst logical approach ever……….
A reward is given to those who have actually achieved or completed something. Not to the failures who don’t care to try and achieve.
No reason to try when we can fail and be rewarded for nothing! Yay for American systems!
As a quote from the movie “The Incredibles”:
Bob: " It’s psychotic! They keep creating new ways to celebrate mediocrity, but if someone is genuinely exceptional…"You get the idea
.
Its a game for entertainment value. Its not school, not work, not anything of importance beyond having fun. Why do you need to suck the fun out?
This logic could also apply to sporting events, and don’t get me started on the “everyone deserves a trophy argument” it basically takes the accomplishment out of victory so to speak.
Then people would complain of doing alot of work for nothing. That is way more unfair. The reward for completing it isnt much better than failing anyways.
Thats the problem the OP is describing failure shouldn’t be rewarded at all.
It would give incentive to actually win.
“First off, crafting is not the only way to get Ascended Weapons! Anywhere you can get an Ascended Material drop or an Ascended item drop there is also a rare chance that you will get an Ascended Weapon chest that allows you to choose which weapon type you want from within a stat combo”
they don’t mention it being exclusive to fractals. Chances are it will drop anywhere, just like precursors, but be just as rare as precursors.
My thoughts exactly, we all know Anet’s definition of rare = foorrrrrgeeet about it.
I think you’re all overreacting, since I don’t know whether its gated per account or per character. GW2 isn’t in the gear treadmill stage yet, so no reason to call it that. It will be if we get another gear type after ascended though within the next year, but I doubt that. The only gear type we’ll get after ascended is legendary, but that won’t be this year so no worries.
Some people like gated content, or just don’t mind it at all. The forums are the only place ive really heard complaints. In game, I dont see any complaints from people. Only goes to show the difference between the two communities.
Keep in mind the forum community is the only voice Anet has to listen to good or bad. Most people in game don’t even know what the forums are considering they don’t read patch notes and freak out when something changes “all the sudden”;
or they just don’t visit them unless they have something to say.
Once it happens there will be a bigger outcry unfortunately just wait and see.
In my experience the general thought process of players is about the same on the forums as it is in JQ map chats, my guild of 500 members, and in numerous comments like on reddit and youtube.
Anymore time gating then we might as well call this Wartune 2. :P
Shudders
Oh crap you play that too? And I use the loosest form of “play”.
. . . do you understand why I laugh a lot when people try claiming “P2W” on GW? Or “too grindy”?
To be fair I only play it because my brother does, and we play together. For the moment.
Haha yeah a friend of mine who owns a Google-Machine that can only play Facebook games wanted me to try it, played it for about 4 hours until i watched him play on his lvl 60 toon and I was just freaking out that he puts up with that kinda of time gating by the triple digit hours to do a menial daily (weekly that was once daily?) task O_O.
My concern is what if other people will start to view GW2 this way also.. Because its getting similar.
Anymore time gating then we might as well call this Wartune 2. :P
Shudders
I’m fairly certain that the ANET that makes GW2 isn’t the one that made GW1 (or even the current GW2) I recall seeing a link a long time ago comparing the employment list.
If anyone has the source for it please do make a thread about it as I see this is something the public would want to/needs to know about. (I cannot find it
)
Welcome to the “I hate the Mario 64 camera club” been around 12 months strong and apparently getting new members by the day.
I remember reading about lvl cap increases in some PC gamer magazine a long time ago, but most of what I read in that long article was false anyway. Something I remember quite clearly was we were going to have some sort of hero/henchy system where instead of hiring 7 we could only bring along 1 of our choosing like a sidekick to help us solo certain parts of the game obviously that never happened.
I wouldn’t read much into anything you hear about, since everything has been subject to change ever since pre launch to today.
I noticed from the start that GW2 didn’t have much going for it in terms of appealing weapon skins and you were stuck with the same basic looking crap for 60+ levels. I personally love understated but elegant skins like the Krytan set, the Aureate set, and so on so forth. The problem is that there isn’t much variety that drops out there. Most of the really neat skins are locked up behind a laundry list of item hoarding and the godforsakenly stupid Mystic Forge. This does kill one’s motivation quite a bit and makes for a rather boring quest to get the thing to complete your character’s look.
Example. In Guild Wars: Factions there was this sword called the “Gothic Sword.” It was, like I mentioned, a rather elegant and understated longsword skin in the traditional cruciform style with an extended pommel. It dropped only in the Echovald Forest. To this day, weapons that drop from Tyria and Cantha in GW1 are not inscribable, so what you got is what you were stuck with (moreso back in 2006). So that made the day, the moment, that the +15% damage w/ Health > 50% version with max damage dropped from a Stonetouched Kirin all the more memorable and exciting. Back then then the sword’s value was measured in ectos, yet I gladly bound it to my Warrior and she proudly wields it still. I got it when I was least expecting it, while I was just focused on my task of exploring the world. It was unique among my peers because it was rare that a combat-worthy version of that particular sword could be found. It was fantastic for me because the skin was magnificent without being overworked flash.
That’s the kind of excitement you don’t get out of the Mystic Toilet.
I know that feeling
I found a gold req10 15^50 +30 hp Fellblade around the time factions came out I customized it almost instantly (was worth sooo much money back then but its my favorite sword, before NF mind you so it wasn’t inscribable ) we can’t get that feeling in GW2.
Still hate the fact that the Fellblade HoM reward lost its glossy (DYE-ABLE!) effect :/
They’ve said raids will be coming but with a spin to them, Idk how this would even work considering there is no trinity and the game leans towards zerging very heavily.
Started up GW1 again for the Festival permanent summing stone.
After playing GW2 for so long I forgot how important aggression order was (picking a target to spike/control, such as monks or heavy hitters once they’re dead go onto the 2nd,3rd ect.) like on my Warrior in GW1 I go for the healer and nuke it, if there is no healer I nuke the hardest hitter in the pull to keep overall party damage received to a low.
In GW2 I’m just mashing 1 and the occasional 3 (whrilwind) to tag mobs over and over.
See the problem? GW1 had some strategy while GW2 is all about tagging…
In GW1 tagging didn’t matter one bit loot was divided amongst the party regardless.
This trip I’ve just taken down memory lane has given me insight on why I’m left so bitter with what Tyria has become.
Cooking not being in the top 3 crafts is total BS lol.
I was thinking this was about the Flood from Halo XD.
The sea creature part sounds exactly like what happens during Rift’s water invasions however.
Most people hate underwater combat, be it the skills, the lack of an exotic breather, the invulnerable mob glitch ,(rare these days but still happens) ect. I’m okay with underwater combat but if it was forced we would see a kittenstorm of QQ from everywhere.
OP got infracted for saying “GW2 is awesome” lol
I’ve had one for saying “Welcome to GW2” so ehh random mod is random.
On topic: I would bring loot from any other game, LFG tool, (Even Diablo1-2 had these c’mon, server names ect.) and the story from any/all of Bioware and Bethesda’s writers.
Should really just let us dye the “tint” colors on legendaries, they are legendaries they should make that happen, would be amazing customization.
You mean add a feature into the sequel 1 year later that was already in the prequel since its launch?
Pish Posh I say!
Thing I miss the most?
The team that worked on Guild Wars.. (not just the head guys)
OMG I have hated that annoying NPC since day 2 of launch… Hearing her scream that over and over and over while crafting almost drove me mad lol.
Fully agree with OP +1000
1 and F and lots of it
Be nice if it was just like the Zenith weapons and you just got the skin whenever you wanted for your account. (after creating it ofc..)
Would much rather have these kind of things in 2 week patches than blotchy 45 second cinematics and tool tip tweaks.
I did one invasion and walked away… Haven’t even logged in since patch day and I usually play everyday, that is starting to change.. I just cannot think about this living story without disgust.
Would anyone REALLY care for replaying the boring content we’ve been getting?…
“Oh hey I can replay this story and bash 100 sign posts/pinatas/fireworks OMG WOOT!”
“I can go to areas already in the game since launch and collect kites/kill pirates EPIC!”
o_O
Hmmm.. I find it rather shallow and pedantic.
XD
I find it funny… If you’re a zerker staff guardian why not buy a sword and focus and farm Deadeye for 25g+ an hour before the event is over.
Its just as easy/boring and makes loads more money.
They’re doing it wrong lol
After the patch deadeye does take a tiny bit of skill (or just break out of bad habbits) but that skill is mostly just watching your blinds like a hawk and knowing when the next teleport will be (blind him before he ports) ofc this only applies if you can’t kill him before his teleport.
B sometimes, but C if option E isn’t available (other domes already being farmed/used by more than 1-2)
I think the ecto price is more to do with the speculation of t7 mats and now that people cant farm CoF p1 any more to convert tokens to level 75 bits of armour to salvage for ecto.
currently farming to get my Dawn precurser 150g off , started with 100g
That and the fact that there are far fewer people doing world boss events and are busy farming champions, the spike in almost all high level rares is proof enough.
