I don’t understand why people fight Jorlag 2 hours a day every day neither..
Like if you want to grind, then run CoF in the same time it takes you to kill Jorlag you would have made around 10g doing CoF compared to the 16s rare boots you’ll most likely get from that event.

Man this thread with the other makes me laugh. Not a dig at any specific person but…

“We’d like to thank our Gw1 players, go make them a small token prize to mark them, but don’t do anything that big to create an advantage”
“Ok, so no gear or too many boosters or anything. Any in game items will feel like it’s biased. Let’s just give them a sticker shaped like a gold star”
“Hey, guys, for your work in Gw1, you get this gold star”
(Most sane people) “Yay!”
“Dude, that’s totally not fair, I want that gold star too”
“But you didn’t play Gw1”
“YEA BUT ITS NOT FAIR”
“It’s just a gold star”
“I DONT CARE I WANT IT”
“You do realize if this star didn’t exist, you’d never would have wanted it. This game has lasted almost a year without it. You only want it because you see other people with it. "
“You suck! I’m quitting!”
….
" Dude this star is lame, I did more! I want my star to be bigger"

Developer: T_T I never realized we had 3rd graders in our audience.
Developer 2: Let’s just send them a postcard next time.

Imo it would be 100x better with a transparency slider so you could see through cliffs/low ceilings/trees/ect. and if with this added the camera would never auto zoom when moved.

Ofc this is coming from someone who’s main is a max height Norn, its like they test everything with Asurans lol.

Thanks for the free achievement points

in Bazaar of the Four Winds

KingClash.3186

I don’t really see what’s unfair about this. You are more than welcome to go play GW1 and get those points. They are still available for you to earn if you want to compete.

I think the point is that it’s a whole different game. Presumably people were already rewarded in GW1 for their achievements there – why do they need to be rewarded twice, and in a whole different game to boot?

I don’t own GW1, and had enjoyed casually racing with my friends to see who could get the most achievement points. Now suddenly they’re pushed 500 points up, a gap I’m never going to realistically close (we have around 8000 points now so all the easy pickings are gone!).

I wouldn’t mind if they went off and did a bunch of stuff in GW2 and raced ahead of me. I’d be impressed and pleased for them.

But the fact that they’ve been rewarded (again) for things they did in a completely different game is a bit sad, and has removed the fun of that race for me.

I don’t want to give the impression I’m incredibly bothered by this – like I said this was just a little bit of extra fun, and it won’t affect my life too much at all. It’s just a pity that that extra bit of fun has gone!

(to those saying I should go buy GW1 and grind out the achievements there… that’s really not an option – why should I have to grind out stuff in a different game just to have a level playing field with my friends in this one? There’s plenty else to enjoy in this game so I’ll just enjoy all the rest, but I’ll no longer enjoy the friendly achievement race and that’s disappointing.)

You’re being a bit over dramatic, considering this game is now releasing new content every 2 weeks which we all know will come with more APs, 500 points total for these worked for and earned achievements in a few years down the line will be absolutely miniscule.

And no there wasn’t a reward for getting HoM points in GW1 itself other than titles and the promise that these points would REWARD those that got them in GW2

You have 8k points you should be proud of that feat (more than most, id go as far as say top 5-10%).

This is a big problem for many people and sucks the fun out of WvW for everyone on a daily basis. But the only thing I think they can do is reduce the player population cap for each zone to a realistic level that the server can handle.

Some people complain about 10 second skill lags, this morning on SoR/BG/JQ EB there was skill lag in SMC that was causing even number 1 auto attacks to not register for 10+ minutes we were all trying to get someone to record it lol.

Actually no, the AoE cap))) is 5 players so stacking gives everyone buffs/heals and reduces the death toll.

Does anyone else see this being a huge problem?
I’m referring to those people that are: trolls, spies, people who cannot read, people with chat turned off, or people that can’t speak English (other languages ect.)

I’m sure you’ve all seen them, these people that take supply from SM or a keep and repair the walls even while an army of trebs is nuking them essentially wasting supply and providing an ill effect on the war effort.

This trait line (made for good intentions) will most likely make this kind of thing worse.

3. The boring grind that is sPvP where the rank point cap for each game is 350ish.

CoF path 1 was nerfed a long time ago thats why its as easy as it is.

The constant complaints brought it down (yes a bit too much) I can see why the devs don’t bother with buffing it back up since it would become an endless cycle.

P2 Magg runs used to be the farm back when each run only yielded 20-25 tokens each time.

KingClash.3186

Because I sure do. I don’t know about you guys but this game has turned into CoF Wars 2 and it is boring the kitten out of me. There are no other viable options that come even remotely close to Cof.

I stopped farming it 1-2 weeks after the November 15th loot nerf, It was really really fun doing Plinx and Grenth chains and getting anywhere from 1-20 rare drops EACH time (yes 1-20 lol I’ve gotten 20 rares from the Grenth event if not more multiple times)
Sadly thats all gone it was blatantly obvious the loot was nerfed around the time DR was introduced, and now the awesome launch time loot is gone, Plinx is on a much longer timer, and all the mobs got buffed. I feel bad for those that never saw the true glory days of Orr farming.

Is there a reason for this?

There is also this thing where if you take falling damage and then immediately go down any sort of slant or stairs, then you will constantly take major damage no matter how short the fall was. I jumped onto a set of stairs today and as I ran down each step, I continually took on a ton of damage until I reached the bottom step :s (I did not fall down the stairs, I ran)

^This

Happens to me ALL THE TIME in WvW. Sometimes make a 10 foot jump and splat lost 75% HP (or die) for no reason, jump from a 25 foot height lose 40% HP, this trickery makes me have to use my -50% fall damage trait just so i don’t get frustrated. Slopes are where it happens the most.

I spent 50$ USD on 50 boxes. No tickets were in said boxes, and I simply had a giant empty space in my bank where money once was. And for what, 500 taffy, some random food buffs?

If you are reading this, please, I beg you to spare me the lecture of “its a gamble”. No, its not a gamble, this was faith. My faith in Anet to reward me for supporting the game (which btw, ive already dumped over 750$ into the gemstore). And what have I got to show for it, moreso, what do we ALL have to show for it? No really, stop typing for two minutes and think about the implications of what these practices have earned us. For all our sacrifice, we still have nothing promised from launch onward.

We still have no Polymock, we still have no barbrawl. We are promised dungeons with challenging content which can be 2 manned (Null comes to mind.) We still have a distinctly broken economy where those who exploited have 6 legendaries, while the honest are broke. And worst off, a game, which not only has become a bigger grind than AION, but one that has no diverse reason to grind.
Where is the litany of unique and themed skinned armors ready to be implemented into the game? Is that going to be put into a future gamble box as well ? I mean have any of you even looked at what took place over the last 3 months?
We have Forged ticket, South sun Karka ticket, and the Dragon skin ticket. All back to back, in a uniformed Ncsoft fashion.
Am I supposed to just smile like some letch and mindlessly enter my card information in, in some hope that I get JUST ONE of the skins I want? Despite having 3 characters, who all would enjoy displaying these beautiful weapons?
I… I just feel, like I have a deficit of negative adjectives I could use to describe the current, money grabbing situation we are facing, MONTH AFTER MONTH.

I know nobody from Anet is reading this, and I know furthermore, that none of them really care about my little drop of money that I spent in the grand scheme. But if this is the state of the game, where me wanting to support the game, is met with a giant and swift punch in the gut. It is obvious to anyone with even remote intelligence, that I certainly will not be supporting this game from here on out.

And for the first time since I started playing. I honestly feel a sense of Shame, out of having 45/50 Hall of monuments. Knowing that my effort, has led to a game supporting a practice, aimed at rewarding only those who have the deepest pockets.

I have said my peace, I will type no more, and I will read no more.
Please google logical fallacies and learn from the list of incorrect arguments, if you insist on trying to have a unbiased response to my feelings. Otherwise you will simply be ignored.

^ This +1

The lesson you learned is what many have already learned from all the way back to Halloween and it has still been a failure so far to try to educate others on the practices at hand.

This is the 5th event they have added in the RNG box gamble, if they read the forums they know people hate it and the only conclusion is greed > care.

And yet you keep posting about it so you must think that what your saying has some important to Anet.

I’m sure it doesn’t but thats not the point. Considering all these OMG threads bursting at the seams because some players don’t understand how bad this system is why not educate the masses with cold hard truth that many of us have experienced first hand?

(Referring to “you keep posting about it”)

But ppl keep buying even though ppl say they hate it they are still using it.

I still say be happy with what you can do with out going after these high end skins try to enjoy things not for items that you can get but from the story and the enrichment of the new content and looks. Its like going to xmist and only doing it for the gifts that you will get.

“Alas it is a shame the populace knows not their power.” I do agree with you though it is a nice festival, its just that peoples incentive to be pathological gamblers has gotten me a bit worked up seeing as how so many are being punished by it while at the same time they are contributing toward its never ending resurgence.

Now, this COULD be an abberation because I don’t do it that often, but for my money, I’ve personally made more money farming the armored scales.

Some people say they can make 9g/h with skelk on another post.

I didn’t know you can make that much on armor scales. So how many scale you get an hour? like 30?

I don’t know. I got 10 in about 15 minutes…but it might just be an aberration.

I got 50 in under 10 minutes!!! You people crack me up. There’s no way to know what he got. He could say anything he wanted in order to back up his posts, why bother even asking him.

Are you accusing me of lying? Because if you are, I’m done with you. I have no reason to lie. If you think it’s impossible to get 10 armored scale in 15 minutes using the buff by killing sharks I ASSURE you it’s not. I’m not even farming that hard. I’m sure you can get MORE.

Yeah, about that one buddy. I sat in waters all around southsun, not one single location and farmed. 4 armored scales, in 1.5 hrs. I have 297% Mf as well (with the buff). Again, you must be the luckiest gw2 player on earth if we are to believe your precursor story and now your armored scale story..10 in 15 minutes? Sure.

Other people have gotten and posted similar results, with a lot more detail. Some hours they got more, some they got less. So maybe not the luckiest huh?

Hes not lying lol…
My best 30 min shark run gave me 24 t6 scales, and I usually average 10-11 per 30 mins.

I am curious what the thought process was the lead to the 200% MF buff on the island if they were just going to turn around and do kitten like this? It almost seems like a cruel joke now. Just waiting for a dev to pop on and yell “Psych!”. If anyone ever asks why I will not buy gems, I point to kitten like this and just reply “kitten em…”

I don’t know, that buff’s been around for a couple of weeks. They nerfed one area of an entire island. I’m not so sure what’s so hard about killing karka or killing reef riders, or going into the water and killing sharks. Maybe it’s me.

Don’t you notice some place get you more money? That’s say you make 2 gold maybe the other people can make 5?

I saw your comment the first time.

The farm was too easy. Everyone was doing it. They took it away, and people will find another farming spot, in this case 5 feet away.

Do you know the express “storm in a teacup”. Every time they nerf a farming spot, a few guys get irate, someone else finds another farming spot and they farm.

Storm in a teacup. I’m sure you can make just as much money if not more farming armored scale. The sharks are fantastic.

Man you keep telling people that sharks are good for T6 scales (they are I’ve farmed them even before the 200% mf buff :P) then it will be the next thing to be nerfed.

Anytime someone posts about a farm on the forums it gets nerfed, I can only assume thats what you’re gunning for.

But hey if it does my 5 stacks of T6 scales would love to see a price jump.

T6 Dust Crisis

KingClash.3186

A really vicious idea just popped into my head outta nowhere.

We all know very well that the amount of T6 dust that is generated from so-called “playing the game, without farming” is absolutely insufficient to cover the demand and needs for crafting purposes.

Since there are only 1,000 or so pieces left on the trading post, we could always just collectively mop up the supply and let Arenanet deal with the issue of inadequate supply, therein forcing them to intervene.

Of course this would mean that the trading post would almost always virtually run out of stock on T6 dust until Arenanet takes action for days on end…

Bad part is thakittens totally possible if i wanted to troll the economy right now all I’d have to do is drop 500g and buy ALL the T6 dust.

I’m not going to lol, but there are flippers out there with well over 5000g that it would be chump change for them to do this.

Hi. I’m a little bored of the fact the a lvl 5 flame legion shaman champ can kill a lvl 80 war in like 2 hits….What’s the points of being lvl 80,except the fact that you can play all content,if a stupid lvl 5 champ, lvl 15 champs can still kill you very easy? I don’t get the sense of getting lower leveled to 6 in a 5 zone for example, you worked all the way to 80 to get mopped on the floor by some super low lvl mobs? Is just something that I think many people want to get rid of, the capacity of some no lvl mobs for a level 80 player to get mopped in some seconds? Make these mobs less powerful….I can handle a “group event” champ like the one in snowdren drifts, the sun of svanir with his pack, and I can’t handle a lvl 5 or lvl 15 champ ? WTH? Make the effort to get to 80 in the normal way(not from crafting or other power level) worthy the effort! I would like to see a lvl 80 kicked by a 60-70 at least but not a 5 or 15. I hope this thread will be heard. I don’t want to make other 80’s(this is my second one)because I will be nothing for some mobs anyway…why to have to use long range all time and dodging on a lvl 5 or the 15 icebrood champ ? OMG. I just try to say how the things are,no whining and stuff, please do something with that downscaling or what is called.

I don’t know what you’re doing wrong but a lvl 5 or 15 champ has never once even downed my warrior 1v1. Your lvl 80 gear stats make it a steamroll, I just killed the Dredge Commissar (a lvl 50ish champ) solo with my war not even 30 minutes ago for my daily rare since no one else was around.

You don’t get it.. your answer is quit whining. I will keep whining because of broken promises and poor execution until ESO comes out. The reason I am whining is because I still have hope that Anet will deliver something that will make it where I won’t even care that ESO is coming out. Again its a hope. People whine in hopes that they will be listened too.

If you don’t like the whining then stop responding.

No ….most of us do get it.

We don’t want a whiney vocal minority of the community to ruin the game we love.

We bought ANets vision and not the vision of a few wanna-be developers that think they know what is best for the overall health and long-term success of the game.

If your whining gets listened to then expect me and others to whine about them having listened to you instead of staying true to their vision which is what I bought when I decided purchase the game.

Minority? We have pages of people who find the new WvW enhancements lame and are angered by the laurels factored into the cost of ascended gear. You have as much evidence as I do on being in the minority. The evidence I do have is that just about everyone in my guild feels these changes are lame and not enough to keep interest in GW2 for the long term. We are a hardcore WvW guild in T1 and have held out for a while in hopes that Anet would do the right thing. Most find this round of enhancements to be insulting or not enough and are looking forward to ESO.

I am a software developer. In fact I am the lead architect on our main application which is used by hundreds of hospitals across the United States. If I didn’t listen to my clients and take in their feedback then I wouldn’t be nearly as successful as I am today. I have found that the vocal minority is in fact representative of a major portion of the population. While I do control the vision of the application, I do make changes according to market and feedback.

Again you don’t get it.

Lets not forget that before CoF P1 became the easiest path in the entire game that it used to be one of the hardest…

When I was gearing up for my CoF armor (which is my favorite) I was running P2 Magg runs over and over and over until my eyes bled with 20-25 tokens a run, that used to be the easiest path.

P1 was nerfed do to complaints of it being too hard it seems redundant for them to bring it back to what it used to be (we’ll just see people complaining and then it’ll be nerfed again, history would repeat itself) P1 used to be so difficult it made P3 seem like a cake walk as almost every PuG that wasn’t full heavies with a mesmer would fail.

I’m all for making CoF P1 a bit more challenging but in no way how it used to be, if memory serves the last boss in P1 would take 15+ mins to kill without a wipe and you ACTUALLY had to kill the crystals that drop because they would heal him for crazy amounts.

Why Precursor Hunt wont help with prices

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Ok so now lets say everyone has a Dusk from the scavanger hunt.

Now theres 1,000 people needing

A. Onyx Lodes.
B. 250 of each t6 Mat.

Causing:
T6 To Skyrocket.

=

Same price in the first place as if you were to buy dusk regularly and the mats regularly. gz on buying your 75s per Vial of Powerful blood when this is implemented.

Just another bad idea by players, pushed onto Anet

The mats for a lot of people are not the problem, for example I’ve had my clovers and all my gifts for 3-4 months now and all I’m missing is the precursor (I’ve not seen one drop for me or anyone around me in 1100 hours of play, and yes I do know they can drop..) And to this day I’m still trying to save up the cash to buy it with its price getting further and further out of reach.

I understand what you’re saying about the crash—- it would cause to T6 and lodestones but that depends on if/how they implement a precursor reward system.

It would be a welcome addition for those of us who have played 8+ months but cannot acquire 600+ gold (unless you play the market, or get mega millions lottery lucky) for me it hampers my interest in gearing alts cause I save up every gold I get.

It will all be in how they do it if its a hunt that takes 1-6 weeks to complete then yes the markets will go wild. but if its something that is extremely challenging that few will even go for it wouldn’t make such a quick solid impact, I would much rather do some epic quest for it than spend 600g or bash my head against RNG without gain.

EDIT: so you can’t say crash and then it without the lame kitten block.. lol

First up what I thought was a massive plus now turns out to be a problem in the long term – free to play. As a big PvP guild we are in contact with many other guilds and this pattern is being seen across the board, this worries me as ArenaNet don’t seem to be acknowledging this.

Wait, you’re actually saying that the lack of a subscription fee is bad? How many people do you think bought the game exactly because it had no subscription fee? How many games have recently been released with a sub fee that later had to go without one in an attempt to salvage their dying games?
One of the biggest things that turn non-WoW people off from MMORPGs is subscription fees. That and the fact that the alternative is often an F2P game where content is truly gated unless you paid or the high-level play is “pay-to-win”.
Heck, I’ll personally say that I would have never bought Guild Wars 2 if it had a subscription fee.

The second big problem is progression, or lack there of. AN should be congratulated for trying so hard to break us free of gear grind, a situation where players play the same dungeon over and over and over again for a 0.05% chance of a piece of gear. Turns out, most players still want this reward system.

Now you’re just making a massive generalization. Just because you have a guild, that could be considered large, that seems to want it, does not mean that the same is true for everyone. Heck, have you ever considered how many players there are that are part of smaller guilds? People that have no guilds? You don’t get to hear their voice by talking to people within guilds.

There’s no denying it, Guild Wars 2 is painfully lacking in high level content that an entire guild can take part in, up until guild missions it been WvsW. I love guild missions, they are awesome and add so much.. but it’s not raiding. MMO players want raiding, it’s that simple.

Look at the kittenstorm that Fractals of the Mists was. When it was first introduced as the only means to get Ascended gear, people wrote hundreds, thousands of posts literally telling ANet to go kitten themselves. Now ask yourself, what would it take for a similar dungeon to work for your guild. Would you really think that a big guild would be satisfied with a difficult dungeon offering nothing but skins? Would you really think that those people wouldn’t rather have it drop something like Ascended armor or weapons, which doesn’t exist in the game yet? Would you think that the people not into the dungeon grinding thing would be happy with that?
Honestly, if they added content that pretty much required you to be in a guild, you can bet your behind that tons of people would rage. We already have people complaining about how smaller guilds cannot do missions.

Lastly I’d just like to mention WvsW. Initially I was bowled over by its scale and brilliance but now I’m seeing the big flaw. Nothing counts for anything, every victory can be undone within minutes. I think we really need some new objectives that make players want to fight for them. Imagine an objective that gave you 20% off items on the gem store..

Ok, now you’re just kidding yourself. 20% off on gem store stuff? That would just result in everyone farming the crap out of that one objective, doing nothing else all day. I am pretty sure that there are better ways to improve WvW than adding ridiculous rewards.

- a new skill system where you gain skills from bosses you beat. You make these encounters very difficult and in turn give guilds a reason to exist again. We need to be able to offer our members more than a TS server and some good music
- give players something to play for (I know your already doing this in many ways) like big objectives in WvsW
- make content tougher to beat

As for skills that you can get from bosses, that’s going to provide some issues. Firstly, it’ll be a nightmare to balance, which is exactly why ANet made Guild Wars 2 in the first place. Secondly, it’ll give a ridiculous advantage for anyone who is in an organized guild. As someone who’s not a guild-type person, I would be pretty kitten kitten ed if they made it so that you’d have to join a guild to partake in missions that give you powerful or beautiful new skills.
As for difficult content, that has many, many issues. For one, most people do not want difficult content. Look at how many people are running CoF P1 for money and compare those numbers to how many are running some of the more difficult dungeons. For two, difficult content is difficult to provide. You have to make the content ridiculously difficult or you will simply run into the issue of people completing the content way too early. And again, that leads to most people never playing that content. And making content for a tiny portion of your playerbase is kinda a dumb idea.

Way to go, give absolutely no constructive criticism…

Hate to tell you this but the gear grind is already here. The loot nerfs that make it impossible for some people including new players to get the items they need to craft exotics, add with that the months it takes to get ascended items if they want to run dungeons using the laurel system, add to that the T6 mat grind thakitten takes to get enough mats to make the runes/sigils because they are crazily priced in the TP or to get enough gold to get a legendary precursor and you’ve got a gear grind. Sorry to disappoint you but despite all of the rebuttal the gear grind is alive and well already, Dontain is just saying what’s on our minds, it’s already here why not make it better, more enhanced to improve the gameplay and to do what every other mmo dev out there has learned, that RNG all the time for everything does. not. work.

Sorry to pop you and Dontain’s bubble, but not everyone needs exotics or Legendaries.
I only have two exotics (shield and staff) for my Guardian and there wasn’t much of a grind, if any, when I did get them.
Of course I do dailies, help people in Orr, and overall enjoy the game instead of sweating it all out for a Mystical McGuffin.

I’ve collected T6 mats with no problems, I’m not going to craft a Legendary any time soon, but if I want a Mystic forge sword I could probably get by or even purchase the materials out from the gold I keep accumulating because I do Dynamic Events and kill Champions due to me playing for fun and not out of some number crunching second job.

You only have 2 exotics?
So your total play time is like what 100-200 hours IF that. Come on man..
Everyone that acts like nothing is wrong like this always has a change of heart at around the 1000 hour mark trust me ive seen it time and time again, once you do it enough it becomes clear that there is immense grind.

Transferring from EU servers to T1 NA to talk tough, farm PuGs, get your daily PvD in, and ask for GvGs. Never heard that one before…

Should really get to know your server a bit more before you talk about 80 man blobs and GvG’s (or interfering with them).

On an unrelated note you IRON guys are pretty fun to fight, regardless of the numbers on the field.

All of BG and JQ are PuGs? Well, they certainly play like it. That explains so much…

On a side note. Congrats to WM on being the “saviors of a server”.

Grats on IRON for being the carriers of a server. :P

Am I missing something here?

Yes. You’re missing the fact that no one gives a flying kitten about rewards in PvP.

Without rewards, why would anyone play? And how else would you determine what is the “end game”?

You may say that people play “just for fun”, but that’s not true. Take away any and all rewards including drops, armor etc from an MMO and see what happens.

Ever heard of a games called Halo or Call of Duty? lol I know they are not MMORPGs but still millions of people play their PvP for bragging rights and pure entertainment, rewards are hardly necessary. Just a bit of perspective.

You try to argument against the reward-system but actually negate it with saying CoD and Halo are not MMORPG. So your post is not making sense in any way.
Furthermore comparing FPS-Games with MMORPG’s is just… wow, I have no words for this. These are two different worlds.
Basically every Game in PvP needs prestige/achivements/rewards to succeed. Even in FPS games you had some sort of ladder/statistics. This actually is the life of human being. Or you work for free? Don’t think so.

I’m going to ignore the obvious bias and explain what i was saying…

I wasn’t comparing MMORPGs to FPS I was making a point about PvP (Player vs Player) and yes PvP does need prestige and you get that prestige with your own individual skill (which is universal, regardless of format) THAT is your reward you don’t need a shiny to prove your better than everyone else, skill speaks for itself.

Talking about dying to a P/D thief in a PvE forum discussion. The best….

Another person that cant read.Your buddy said i made him because i cant melee. So i said the reason why i made him p/d.It must really bother some people knowing that all classes can actually farm cof.Now noticed i said farm nowhere in any of my posts did i say i do speed runs.i couldnt care less if a run takes me a minute longer.

In calling out someone else for not being able to read, you’ve sadly shown that you can’t even keep your sources straight. Nikaido hasn’t said anything (yet) about your not being able to melee, just that you chose an absolute garbage weapon set. He at no point speculated as to why you would choose to do this. Regardless, your crap damage setup seems to be actively killing your team mates. Congratulations?

lol You kinda look stupid right now dont you
You’re choosing the easy way out because you’re probably incapable of entering melee range.Wonder who said that

Last post them im done with you idiots. It is up to my team mates to decide If im pulling my weight or not in my groups not some elites on a message board that cant even read what the topic is about.

Right.. and denial is just a river in Egypt, Man just get another dagger and run D/D you will notice why P/D is the worst skill set to use.

Those complaining about laurels forget the WvW focus dailies we get. If you play a lot of WvW, you’ll get them without any extra effort.

Even though people don’t like it, Laurels is still a pseudo-gating tactic and encourages you to do activities beyond what you’d normally do. Need your last item… oh, a JP, I’ll go do that.

Nope, i don’t get laurels by only doing wvw stuff most of the time. And you only get one each day, which makes the game super-grindy. This is terrible game design. No-one enjoys it and no-one finds it fun. It’s just a chore.

And ascended are also soubound which even makes it more terrible for those who got multiple chars.

Grinding is the reason i leave mmo’s. But i haven’t found any mmo with a better combat system than GW2 yet. So i still play this game. And i’m hoping they will add some other stuff to keep ppl playing other than months of grinding for ascended.

I can see where you’re coming from on this, but i have to point out that back when ascended gear and fractals first came out there were no “daily relics” or “laurels” so it was possible that you would run 20 lvl 10 fractals and not receive a single ring (there was quite a long and angry topic about all this) which means you couldn’t go into lvl 20-30 fractals all because of bad luck with RNG. So what if this system was never in place and if ascended amulets and earrings only dropped from Maw chests like the rings used too but at like lvl 30-40, it would be the same process of misery all over again. Everyone should be grateful for what they got because it could be so much worse.

Yeah its a bit ludicrous, a couple months back I got a friend hooked on GW2 and I was witness to the very 1st time he spoke in chat at something in map chat and he got the suppressed message warning pop up, this was his FIRST time typing in chat and.. well.. regardless to say but we busted up laughing.

Wasn’t really a big deal but there is something clearly wrong with the message system :P

How to counter dragon-timer trolls?

How do you counter the dragon-timer trolls on your server?

Because WPing around been eating up my coins. had a gold, and now down to a few silvers from WPing to events that were already started or finished.

Whats your methods to counter the Dragon-Timer trolls?

After the meta event is over it would be nice if all the people who update ALSO vote that the timer is good. Once it has a green check next to it it cannot be trolled as of my understanding.

It can still be trolled it just takes more time/interactions to do it.

Hmmm I didn’t know that since all the checked ones ive done have never been trolled, thanks for the info.

But since the API is out there now it would be best to have up dragontemple and gw2stuff.com for reference; plus besides the gw2stuff.com site is programmed with the API it cannot be trolled and actually uses timers for EVERY meta event which would be nice to see more people at than just the low lvl ones (and it shows where they happen at on the world map so if you dont know where to find them now you do)

I thought only Master Togo was slain from what I remembered while his party still lived. I’m confused here.

In the mission everyone gets slain, but the following cut scene that will happen clarifies what happens I dont want to give a spoiler so i wont; if you really need to know read up on the mission on the wiki its the 3rd or 4th mission in the Factions campaign.

Back on topic I’d like to toss in my vote for a return of Cantha in GW2!

Exotic Hunting With Mystic Forge

If the items are the same type you will get that type of item back 100% of the time, If its a mix of items it will be random. No matter the way you do it you do have a CHANCE at getting exotics.

But.. lets say you have a 1 in 5 chance of getting an exotic with 4 rares, that is 20 rares that you are tossing down the drain that could net you 15s-25s each for a 1 in 5 chance of an exotic that would be worth 1-4g.
Its known as the Mystic Toilet for good reason.

I’m very interested on learning the lore of the game, and though I’ve read and gotten a lot of information from several sources, nothing is like playing the game itself. So my question is, if i were to play from Prophecies to Eye of the North, how long would it take me? Considering I could play perhaps 5 hours per day. Also, is there any known information is servers will be shutdown some day? And considering I’d pretty much be playing solo, would it be hard in some aspects of the game to do so (dungeons maybe)?

To finish all 4 campaigns i would say it will take about 3 weeks or less if you’re only doing the story missions and not going for titles and what not. The game is entirely soloable and the AI can be smart especially since you can micro manage what they do and when they do it. The addition of a full 7 heros in your party made the game sooo much easier for hard mode, all the hard mode dungeons, vanquishing, and masters missions can be done with you and heros provided you know your stuff or study the wiki like a rulebook, I know that EVERYTHING is soloable because i have personally done it. There are sites out there for good team builds if ones you make don’t work out, Sabway (3 necro heros) was a personal choice of mine. I’m a 7 year vet of GW1 and it is to this day by far one of my favorite games of all time GW2 being a close 2nd of course but its still young XD.

Thank you Arenanet for the epic MF :)
