Well… I don’t like any of them, but I do admit their detail is exquisite and are wonderfully designed. Don’t care for them though. I think Sclerite was the only RNG weapon skins I actually ever wanted… :/

Well let’s go from the sublime: The riding trousers and boots are some of the best-looking medium leg and foot items in the game in terms of looking “in-keeping” and yet they are town clothes only.
I thought I was the only one who raged (okay, was angry) that these are town-clothes only…they fit the atmosphere perfectly and my thief would kill to wear them.
But they’re TOWN CLOTHES.
If any of the stuff in the style tab that were town clothes became converted to real armour, ANet would have to shut up and take all my money.
I dunno why they aren’t banking on this.

Hi, I’m looking for a guild that does guild missions. I say temporary because I don’t want to join a guild permanently and I will leave it after I get the commendations. You might be asking, ‘well, why would I send you an invite if you aren’t really joining?’ And to answer that question, well, I don’t really know why. The most I can give you other than helping with guild missions is all these guild influence things that I’ve saved up from BLCs and had no way to use them.
I am on Stormbluff Isle and I have 80s of every character except Warrior and Engineer. My Timezone is CST and I can only play after 7pm CST.

I liked your story, brought a smile to my face. At one point, I too desired Sunrise since my character is a JUSTICE PALADIN and it seemed to fit, but then I realized that legendaries don’t mean anything to me anymore because I see them everywhere and I don’t want to spend my GW2 life grinding for an unattainable and unfun goal…
…so now I’m just enjoying my pretty Lionguard Hammer, in all its golden and not-flashy existence.

That’s because of the culture difference between Eastern and Western MMOs. I have said this before, but Western culture always has held the dogma that if you work hard enough, you will get what you want. This is what has been pounded into our heads since ’Murica was founded on a sheet of parchment. So the whole “hurr, RNG boxes, the only way I can get what I want is by gambling on some virtual items” enrages a bunch of us (US players at least) because we rely on luck and not achievement for things we want.
But, rich people IRL or compulsive spenders feed them. Vote with your wallet.

Who cares who is wearing it? I’m going to be wearing this forever because it fits my character’s lore perfectly, and I don’t care about the other 500 players who are going to wear it either. I will take this over that ugly jetpack any day.
I knew there was going to be someone crying about how easy the backpieces are to get… Just wait until the cool new backpieces come out and everyone will be wearing those too.
I mean, what’s your first reaction to someone wearing a legendary weapon? Mine is, “Oh, they must have spent a lot of time and money on that.” I’ve seen tons of people with them, so the novelty has worn off, just like every other ‘cool’ item in this game…

Sounds like a bad group. The worst time we had was a bunch of med-light armours, had crap DPS and we went down like flies. We persevered though but man it was hard. I was genuinely surprised that it was that bad since I’ve never wiped on the bosses before then.
Also, I wouldn’t take a 27 thief since you don’t have all your skills. I bring my 80 to clear the dungeon and then switch to another char once I open the chest.

I don’t really care about the jetpack but I enjoyed SAB’s approach on things. You don’t see people crying about SAB skins is because after running it a billion times and still getting no TPable skins, they were able to buy them from the merchant using “tokens” they worked for. The only people crying about how rare SAB skins are are the ones who want to bank on the money aspect for months in advance.
It’s an American-centric idea. We’re always told that if you work hard enough, you’ll get what you want. Which is why RNG always spits in the face of Western players. IMO, if we get the SAB approach more often, it will make more people happy but it won’t be “giving out candy” (so please naysayers don’t use this line or any other one similar to it to not make yourself look stupid) because you’d be still running the dungeon.
It would be silly if this was the approach for every single thing since some things are just meant to be rare, but I hope ANet takes such an approach in consideration for future events/items because it was truly an amazing idea. You could either get lucky and get a “superior” skin thanks to the RNG, or you could get one just for you after working hard enough. That way it’s actually rewarding to run the dungeon over 9000 billion times and actually see a light at the end of the tunnel. It would make a lot of people happy to see an alternative way to get an item rather than RNG, just like SAB.

I see many Guardians in WvW and PvE, and when I get in a group somewhere I normally get the group saying “hope your better then the last guardian we had” so you may see lots of guardians, but by the looks of it, most aren’t any good
This guy nailed it… lots of guardians but most of them aren’t optimizing themselves
I’ve seen so many bad guardians but that’s what you get for having it be a beginner-friendly class
That just makes the good guardians stand out more!

the change wouldn’t be so bad if SB wasn’t our only vaguely reliable ranged attack, since P/P’s still the redheaded stepchild
But like I said in another post I’m also upset with the change. SB never left my weapons lineup but I guess I’ll have to go S/D D/P because apparently those are the only builds that aren’t utter garbage

Meh… I am not happy with it…
I love SB and it’s never left my weapons line-up… it had crap damage but the seeking projectiles helped balance it out. It’s a good, versatile utility weapon. Not impossible to dodge. I never had a problem with it against SB thieves.
Now..hmm… I went on the forums and saw everyone whine about it… “ah, it can’t be that bad, what are all these people complaining about?”
Then, I watched my shots miss my targets in PvE… that spider wasn’t even moving fast! I don’t want to know what this is like against players.
So now do I have to run S/D like all the cool kids to be a viable thief, lol ?

Good GOD. I bought the mini pack and the only one I can stand is the spider, who is quiet. I got it for the bee-dog but it keeps making this annoying “wub” noise every 3 seconds and it’s driving me crazy!

Tybalt is always a pleasure to have around, then next is Forgal because he made me laugh too and last is Sieran. But I like them all.
Zojja , like her wit and her voice fits her demeanour and stature perfectly.
Loved Snarl and Galina, I wish there was more quests with them around.
Baroosh is a kitten for embracing quaggan ragemode. I found him and his mentality to be thought-provoking and wise.

No, they are the same quests. They might have slightly different dialogue based on the race, but every race gets the same quest based on the faction and other choices.
The only time after level 30 your race gets put into play again is when you have to help a tribal race; the choices are based on your race but you still get the same chosen quest regardless of your race.

The biggest problem I have with dialogues is that my character(human) is in permanent “Lawful good paladin” mode. She always respect her elders, bakes cookies for orphans, saves kittens from trees and does all other super heroic stuff. She have almost no personality whatsoever.
This sums up one of my biggest problems overall. I love GW2 and can look past the bland VO and writing because I just enjoy it how it is. But what I do not like about Personal Story is that it didn’t live up to what I would think a Personal Story actually is.
I almost wish GW2 did not have VOs for Personal Story so we could actually choose what our character is like. I feel more emotionally connected to my Skyrim character rather than my GW2 character even though my Skyrim character is nothing but grunts and wails. It’s because ANet has already chosen my character(s) for me – his voice, manner of speaking, personality.
My Guardian is supposed to be rough, no-nonsense, hate-everything guy whose brash outer shell just textures his true devotion to justice and saving innocents. Here, my mini Nolan spouts goody-goody, ever-agreeable nonsense in his cheery, hero voice. It was particularly jarring because it contrasted completely with the character I imagined my guardian to be. The voice, personality, everything was off. I wish that Personal Story was simply just text-only so we could at least choose our character’s voice and forge our own story. Our real personal story.
My second problem is that we never really have a choice of what to do. It all ends up in killing stuff. For example my Ele is supposed to be a charming roguish person who talks his way out of everything. When I try to choose options that seem diplomatic rather than violent, I usually just end up killing stuff anyway regardless of how I chose. I think one of the best examples of the violence-vs-non violence options (though there should be more ofc) is the Legion event in the tavern just outside of Black Citadel, where you have to talk the legions out of fighting each other. You have to choose an option that best fits their legion’s description to calm them down and show them that the brawl is below them. Otherwise, if you don’t want to talk to them, you can choose to fight them instead and show them arguing is pointless. Both lead to the same wanted outcome. That was something I enjoyed because I had a choice on how to accomplish it using knowledge rather than my fists.
The Priory wind puzzle, although I do not like jumping puzzles, was the most memorable of the personal stories simply because it was different from the usual “KILL EVERYTHING.” Anyway, furthering this, with the choices we are given they never make a lasting impact on anything. Anything we do just disappears. Our allies we made disappear. I was hoping to see more of quaggans in my story after I chose them for my racial empathy but I did not see any quaggans anywhere after that arc was complete.
I won’t end this without props though. I found Caladbolg arc to be good. We saw weaknesses in character which are rarely present otherwise. Also, even though the writing was cheesy at first, I enjoyed the human story of finding your parents and it was touching. I loved all the mentors, they were all enjoyable though Sieran and why she was my authority and allowed to have the title of “Magister” is questionable. Lastly I like Zojja a lot.
Edit: This isn’t to say I don’t like the personal stories. I actually like them a lot, up until the dreaded Claw Island. I may have to strangle Deputy Mira for having the worst voice acting in the game.

I would love housing EQ2 style, which Rift housing is based off being they hired Emily Taylor from EQ2 to do Rift. In EQ2 you didn’t have to build your house from scrath, though and I like that.
EQ2 stands as the best player housing system I’ve ever encountered and I love it to death. The only problem with it is that nobody stays in towns and when new players come they’re completely deserted because everyone is hanging out in their house/guild hall.

I would like to know this too. The problem I have always had with stats is that they don’t mean anything. They’re just arbitrary numbers that tell me how much of that number I stacked up. What does “1643 Toughness” actually mean? What does “948 Vitality” mean? How do these numbers affect my game so I know what “800 Healing” actually does?!

1) If I use a tray of food with a level requirement of 75, does that mean the requirement only applies to me so that I can put it down and anyone of any level can pick up the food? Or does this requirement mean that the people who try to use it have to be level 75 in order to get the benefit?
2) I haven’t read much about this Living Story event and I know it just came out (and to my knowledge hasn’t appeared yet since yesterday?), but are these one-time event type deals? I’m really hoping they’re not because I can only play for a few hours every night because of work and I don’t want to miss the world event thing.
3) About “Quaggan Backpack” from gem store, it says it can be applied to any back item, so does this mean that the items that do not have visual models will become the backpack?
Thanks in advance.

I haven’t done Whispers yet, but the Vigil was my first order and Forgal’s speech almost made me cry. I loved his character. That’s not to say I didn’t love Sieran either, which I did, but I agree her sacrifice seemed a little off and forced.
I also agree th at if she tricked the character into thinking she’d be okay, it would have been much more.. believable? And would probably break my heart. With Sieran’s sacrifice I was just kind of left with a feeling of… ‘I don’t really understand why she would do/say this, even with her change of heart.’
