I remember one thread where ascended gear was likened to papaya’s and aids. It was quite ridiculous.

From the guild’s point of view: If you are representing them, they get influence to spend on making members more productive in the form of all the banners, and upgrades. If you are representing them, they have the option to call on you in guild chat to see if you want to join them just by using the guild’s chat. If you are representing them you are an actual part of the guild instead of a lump on a list.

From the player prospective: Sometimes you just don’t want to do stuff with a guild. Sadly, this game doesn’t allow you to just log into an alt because all of your characters are guilded and the guild can see that you are playing an alt. Additionally, sometimes you want to do wvwvw, and sometimes PvE. Having guilds that are dedicated to one instead of both means that it can field more people of the playstyle. When you want to wvwvw you rep the wvwvw guild and off you go with 40 people. When you want to hit a dungeon you rep the PvE guild and ask for 5 to join ya and off you go.

There’s pros and cons to the multi-guild system. If there was some way to allow all guilds that you are a part of to gain influence, repping or not, I think that would go a long way to alleviate this issue. But of course that means that it’s ripe for abuse by people just filling the guild with random members that never rep and getting influence anyway…

It took FOREVER for it to happen to me, then suddenly. BAM. The 2g beggar.

I wish that it was a bannable offense. Report for harassment or something.

i dont support inspect gear. i saw the effects of this particular feature in WoW. I would be decently geared for an instance dungeon but because i didnt have certain stats i got booted from the group. People in this game have an approach around this, they require you to link your gear. I carry 2 sets of gear, my berserker and my explorer gear. when they ask me to link my gear i link my berserker gear but i actually wear my explorer gear in the dungeon and it goes just as smoothly. but some are getting booted after linking “trash” gear

And you are EXACTLY the reason some people want an inspect option.

Inspect gives the following info:

Magic Find%, and Agony Resist.

Then we can expand or not from there.

The answer is Yes.

Simin’s difficulty comes in a couple flavors.

First issue is simply getting people to position correctly to get all the wisps to fall into the shields correctly.

Second issue is getting petrification removed quickly.

Third issue is the group having enough DPS to burn Simin down.

Someone getting agro of a spark while petrified means that Simin will heal up far far more than she should and can even be enough to just reset the fight.

Not removing petrification can make a dps light group lose enough dps that you never make progress.

The easiest method is to take simin to 50%, then only place 4 sparks, let her heal to full. Burn down to 50% and immediately place the last wisp and burn the other 50%.

If you can’t do that, then you will have to get all 5 wisps in. Which can be a hassle to say the least.

Simin isn’t difficult. It’s just that there’s very little room for inefficiency/mistakes.

I did it as a guardian. Not all guardians do crap damage. 80% crit damage goes a long way.

There are many consumables that have very strong use. Some more than others.

Everyone should have a stack of ash legion spy kits. They are extremely useful in many fractals. Are good for PvE as agro droppers.

Portal guns are good to have, the item that summons fire elemental pet is rather nice, ogre pet whistle is more of a toy but it’s fun to have a hawkeye griffon pet as a guardian.

I hate single use currency. If you could at the very least salvage ascended rings. Pristine relics would have SOME value.

I completed Arah 4 tonight. gw2lfg.com is the best.

It took a while to get a group, but I expected as such mid-week. Don’t forget that even getting a group, there’s a chance you will fail if it’s puggy. Have to just suck it up and try again later.

Anet should add gw2lfg to the game already.

I will rez all dead and kill all mobs. Anyone who has a problem with that can just grow up and move 20 inches to the right for their next target.

35 Fractal relics for a skillpoint. Is an option.

Annoying in fractals. I can’t melee the ballistas in the ascalon one. I can’t leap of faith to the ice formation in the frost fractal.

Already done. WvWvW seems to give a plethora of salvage trophies.

Actually after he mentioned it. I do not recall the last time I simply zoned into LA and was not put into an overflow. It’s the only place that occurs as far as I have seen.

I travel to DB when I want to keep an eye on the wvwvw scores.

Then stop exaggerating. I went to LA non-overflow. Within 3 minutes there were 5 LFG’s. 1 for CoF, 1 for CM story. 3 for various fractal levels. And wvwvw is alive and freaking well.

Then go. DB will survive I am pretty sure. I certainly won’t stop you. You have made up your mind already.

Funny. I got sent to an overflow for LA. Must be dead. Serious.

DB has no slow time. We have a rather large oceanic/asian population. There’s lots online day and night. More at night though. Our Oceanics are quite large in size.

Dragonbrand is T3. You don’t get there by being “dead”. Kaineng is an anomaly. You should have been here for the last two matches before they arrived.

And your inability to utilize tools such as gw2lfg.com is your own fault if you can’t get a fractal group. I get 3 per day and more if I wanna farm.

I agree. 72 hours is insufficient. It needs to be a week.

They are far more infrequent now than previously.

Which is sad. I like getting repair canisters and revive orbs and salvage kits =/

They still occur though. Just not that often.

This discussion is as old as MMO’s.

They do not permit inappropriate language. It’s in the EULA. They suspend for infractions. The filter is there for people to use. It still doesn’t give you the right to use foul language.

That’s just the way it is. That’s the way it is in every MMO that I have played (Perhaps not EVE. That game was a whole other ball of wax.) That’s the way it will be till the end of time probably.

Just don’t use foul language in any chat other than with friends. Or be prepared to suffer the consequences of your actions.

gw2lfg.com is vastly superior in almost all ways.

Pristine fractal relics are even worse. You can’t even do anything with them when you are fully decked out in rings. Can’t even throw them at obs shards/skill points. At least the regular relics have an outlet.

Anet needs to stop putting things in that obsolete themselves. (Even the ascended rings obsolete themselves.) I’m to the point where I will be saying “Yay! Another 4 silver!” when I get more. I won’t keep any more rings in my vault hoping that one day they will let us salvage them…

Spineguards annoy me even more. You see that yellow/orange icon pop up while looting and you are like “WOO! ECTOZ!” and then you see that you got a spineguard and you are all Sadface. It tricks you. Vendor for 2s…

“Alone and passing by”.

If someone is alone and passing by and can’t simply ignore a thief and go on their merry way, they shouldn’t be “Alone and passing by.” Especially since you were so good as to put the word out about the thief causing trouble. Right? Right?!?

WvWvW is about communication, teamwork, and awareness.

I think it’s fun. There is nothing more satisfying than spiking an invisi-thief.

Actually, spiking a D/D ele is more satisfying to me, but that’s a whole other ball of wax.

He was going up and down the cliff, had shadowsteps too(so stuff like line of warding or other aoe wouldnt work), because he goes up and down it would be difficult to get him with binding blade too(has 600 range including verticals).

He was not hitting/killing anyone much, just going invisible and trolling the whole group.

Then you move away from the cliff. I dunno, seems obvious to me.

Of course the biggest problem with stealth is Ash Legion Spy Kits. Infinite stealth for every class in the game…

They don’t work in sPvP or WvWvW.

Actually you can do it with 2.

A thief eating a full blown whirling wrath in the face (What the guardian will do right after the pull) puts him to about 50% life. 2 guardians will eat his lunch and beat his dog afterwards.

You want to know how to kill an invisi-thief? I’ll give you the grand tactic.

Use a guardian with a great sword.

When the thief goes invis, utilize binding blades. It will track them invisibly. Have your 9 person group stack on the guardian.

Then the guardian pulls the invisible thief to them and EVERYONE unloads on that spot.

So, while we are underwater. We utilize a breathing apparatus. (With very poor choices and options for stats I must say. Anet, get on this and make them craftable with exotics and stat combinations that don’t suck for a guardian. Condition damage? Really?…)

If you put a rune on it, it shows 7/6 if you have the same rune on all.

My question:

If I have a full set of armor with soldier runes, do I have to put a soldier rune on the rebreather to retain the shout’s curing conditions, or am I free to stick a random rune for some more power/precision without losing the benefit?

I can’t find any posts about such things, and the wiki doesn’t seem to help with that either (Or I can’t find it.)

I have been having some troubles with even removing things like poison.

Especially on myself.

This is with Purity, Pure of Voice, AND a full soldier runeset =(

The rings are only available in the daily chest. Not from the boss chest. So running more than one level 12 is fruitless (Other than the experience/drops.) You will only get the one chance at a ring each day. (Doing level 12.)

I must say. The early morning Kaineng field presence was rather surprising.

I had some really great fights defending our dolyaks. I must say though. I had no idea that Engineers were so annoying to fight. Seriously. Put my condition removal to the freaking test.

Acceptable. Though I’ll be getting in the queue myself after chores/dinner. I could pose for a score update. But sadly I’m more bark than salad.

I have 2500 fractal relics that would enjoy a home out of my vault before they get turned into silly things that I don’t really need.

I believe they are working on it. If you right click the tokens you will notice there is a greyed out “Deposit collectable” option.

It just doesn’t have a home yet.

@Kumu Honua, sounds like it really does get better the higher you go in fractals. How many yellows/oranges would you say you come away with from the lvl 30 run. If its around 10 that sounds like a really good use of ones time. If getting ectos is your goal anyway.

@Narkosys, how many hours would you say you play a week?

I usually get anywhere from 4-8 yellows per run. (Note: I do not run MF gear.) It also depends if you get a high enemy count fractal like dredge vs something like….swamp that has almost no enemies.

I seem to average about 5 per fractal. But the level of fractal doesn’t matter. I get about the same yellows doing a level 10 as a 30.
