That’s enough. I’m not spending my week getting run over by blobs. I play on a lower level server for a reason. I don’t want to play against servers 7 levels higher than we are.

Is there any other large scale war sandbox game out there?

I’ve seen some massive blobs from RoF and UW, and I’m confident gandara can manage some big blobs too, so it should be fair enough.

Only difference is when RoF blobs the other 3 maps are empty while you and uw have people in them :P Hell, your guild groups are blobs to us, Our biggest wvw guild barely managed 23 and that was with like 4 people not even in the guild but just friends.

I gotta agree with Dz here, we didn’t do too well at all. During primetime they’re clearly superior, even more so since [TaG’s] main commander is gone which has our guild a lot less active than usual. The only reason their bl turned red was because they literally only had 2 people on that map from [ZZZ] and we had 5 omegas. And we didn’t even see them til after our omegas rushed hills which was the last of the keeps so they probably just had no one on.

Really proud of my bro Cuddleh for leading our pugs in EB and making it a lot better than it was, and Cap who helped organize RoF with DZ and Arb hitting us.

Overall wasn’t too bad of a matchup, and we did get a lead by nightcapping, but hey that’s how wvw goes. Not like scores matter anyways, it’s whoever who has the most fun fights that get to enjoy wvw the most.

Also if anyone sees a nub Charr guardian in t3 from TaG feel free to wave and duel me, it’s lonely roaming at night :c

The German servers do like to blob a lot but DZ for instance has small scale guilds like BNF and AMOK that are fun to fight. I’m not really tired of them, just wish more spoke english so our matchup thread isn’t full of RoF tryhards that brag about us winning and every server sucking.

Also – main reason we’re even winning is night capping – DZ does have skills and have shown that during primetime. Whether you think they do or not, they have been very efficient with their numbers, especially in RoF today, while we had a queue and lost a fully upgraded bay with a commander literally right next to it and no one reported they were in it.

Come on Arb, this is annoying. We had 3 and you had 3, you run back to bay and use cannons and vets. Then we go to camp to get out of your lame cannon usage, then you bring like 10. Whatever, we had npcs so kind of fair. Then when we get back there you got ~15 or 20. Okay fine. Then we get 10 to start grazer you bring 20 more then hide ina tower with cannons and acs to fight us!? Siegegrazer is not equivalent to 30 people you know.

There’s a reason no one like to fight you, quit hiding behind siege, Even when you have numbers you do. Especially Tz.

For the people saying they like hearts since they don’t have to kill 20 or so things of something..yes you do. Most of my hearts are completed by just killing harpies or charr or wahtever the heart is by. So hearts are essentially kill 20 of these, or you have some like the jotun one in Wayferer where you run back and forth spamming F buying and selling. They’re essentially the old quests the more you think about it.

But hey, good for you if you like them, map completion multiple times will be much easier :p

Hearts are the bane of my existence and the reason I hate mapping since I have an OCD like thing where if I enter a zone I must finish everything there. They’re fun the first time, but just become so tedious the 3rd or 4th or 8th time. I wish all maps were like Orr and directly event driven.

Also I’d love if they would never add more hearts or replace them with old style quests just because I absolutely hate killing the same enemies or doing the same thing to fill up a meter on a bar.

So I like the idea of the living story. I like thinking about the world not being static and always changing due to events. But I really don’t like how Anet is implementing it.

My problem is every 2 weeks we get a new segment of the story and it’s all the same: one brief cutscene followed by some new achievements that lead to a meta reward. But these aren’t really achievements, they’re mind-numbingly boring tasks. So far every if not all segments have had minigames, jumping puzzles, a dungeon, some random trivial roaming across the map doing something an absurd amount of times for no reason but to be filler I suppose and stuff like that.

There’s honestly nothing fun about it for me. I don’t mind you adding achievements and making a dungeon/jp/minigames for people, a lot of people love that stuff and they can get some AP’s for some chests they may want, but I really hate how you all diverged from traditional quests. It feels like everything a living story is right now should just be add on stuff to a quest that actually goes into the story. I know I’m not the only one having trouble following the story because you don’t really give us the cutscenes or quest tasks for us to get that image in our head of everything going on. Instead all we get are random achievements spread out and by the next chapter I’m like….wtf happened in that 30 second cutscene I watched 2 weeks ago and when I finally remember I’m like okay how the hell did we get from there to here. You can do the 1 dungeon but it’s kinda the only thing that gives you any info.

So I was just wondering if Anet or fellow players would like a new approach? I think we should bring back the quest chains filled with events where we can clearly see/participate in that will help us with keeping up with current events, and keep the add on achievements the living story currently is for people who like that. I love stories in games, but to me this is just becoming a 2 week event that is really quite boring and I end up doing all the achievements in a few days or so just so I can try to get some semblance of a story. I just feel like it should be an actual story we can go through besides feeling like I need to grind some achievements to understand the situation/environment/people of the living story.

Tl;dr – I want to do the Living Story, it’s just becoming harder and harder due to it’s (imo) bad design and I hope something about it can change and hopefully make it better.

WTNF guild from AG – Lul are you that bad you gotta make 3 ballistas an ac and hide by npcs and try to farm pugs on our north camp? Come on fight in open field like real wvwers. There’s a reason you got stomped on there.

RoF probably won’t be upgraded every night. Me and a few others pulled an all nighter to do it then we lost it all within 3 hours of AG waking up. We just have no one coming on during the day because people see the matchup and go meh not worth it. We lack dedicated wvwers/guilds, so there’s always time where we have no commanders/guilds in any maps. Then it just becomes this for you guys: lol how many randoms standing on walls laying flame rams can we slaughter!

I will admit AG became much less blobby off of reset though.

VcY and RiOT are blobbing too much. So is blobbazor. Moar quaggans are needed everywhere. OMFG what is with all these noob thieves one hitting me fight fair noobs. RoF has some of the worst 1v1ers I’ve ever seen as well.

We could learn a lot from DeX, you all are great scouters, you just hide behind acs too much and RoF does that enough already too. As for the night capping I wasn’t even complaining about that, I’m used to being nightcapped all the time being one of the few Americans on RoF. It was just in my example of the only time I don’t see DZ and RoS hit at exactly the same time.

I swear RoS and DZ are like on TS together. 95% of the time you both hit keeps literally at the same time, like really? I have not seen you guys not take a keep without the other in the at another or if we’re being nightcapped.

Mainly just frustrated at RoF though, we have almost no scouts, no defenders, hard to get people on ts or to hop maps too >.<

Lol reading this with some guildies that’s in one of the guilds moving we all just said WE DON’T KNOW!! Gandara comes off as a huge blob to us when our main guilds barely pull 20 on reset now. We had 3 main guilds in bl and were still outmanned :S

Dat lag. Every fight so far running with 20 or less guild group = spam utility skill, it not going off, being dead the next second. I actually wouldn’t mind being steam rolled if i could get a skill or two off when they’re near :s.

Also, WHAT’S UP ANET? It’s either vabbi/fow or servers 2+ tiers above us, if the balance issues weren’t enough what about the fact we’re actually losing players because of our constant screwy matchups. We’ve only had 1 legitimate match since the new system has been put in place. It’s sad :c

I wish everyone wasn’t so rude to FoW and Vabbi. I made some good friends and had great duels last time. Be mad at the rng system, anet, guilds ridiculously stacking servers, but not the people who support their home server.

Woke up from what little sleep I got last night thanks to WSR/Surmia. I knew it was going to be a bad night when I got on and see 7+ golems Rushing our Eb Keep and us not even having 10 people or the keep sieged up..

When we finally started getting tkitten mess sorted I saw WSR basically just tear apart our whole bl, we just barely saved our garrison, and kept trying to fix our bl.. less and less were on though so I couldn’t do much. I think we maybe had 10 people spread across our bl and EB most of the night. Great Job to WSR and Surmia, although I imagine it was a lot of PvDing, which I’m sorry but I couldn’t help much :p

Everytime I mentioned it it was just a joke, I know it’s ridiculous not to expect every single member from a guild not join in a zerg when few people are on/it’s needed. People get way too sensitive. If people from RoF keep doing it you might as well ignore it, because we got the half that just genuinely likes making jokes and poking fun at it, and the half that’s probably still bitter about the t1 guilds ruining the tiers down here. And you had no golems and nothing at inner. It was just a dead mesmer and a thief there for what I guess had to be hours because there’s nothing on outer open – walls/gates.

I just was seeing if I missed something, if they actually stayed in Bay that long, kudos to them.

The golems came far later when we guarding the dead mes from being rezzed by the thief.

Can someone from DEX guild explain how that mes and thief were in our Bay when none of the outer structures were breached? Bay was fully upgraded and it had been hours since something was down.

Hello! I’d like to make a complaint to the VCY Complaints Department. WHY HAVEN’T I SEEN YOU GUYS YET!?!?! Only been fighting WSR and RIOT it seems like :p

So far been an okay reset. Had a fun guild event except for a few wipes due to RIOT (I thought you all hated blobs) but seriously much better than last week when UW could just determine who to farm.

And I feel like this post isn’t complete without a yolo. So, yolo.

Maybe you missed us taking UW garri yesterday then. Also, TaG, NaZ and FR spent entire evening pushing UW Bay (which was even mantioned on this thread). Aside from reset (which we spent on UW BL), my guild was sharing the WvW evenings even between UW and BT borders

Also, I’m not saying that going for RoF is bad tactics if you want to keep 2nd spot, more love given to UW would just make that matchup more interesting

Maybe one time you were lucky, we own some of their territory every day. As I play only in BT border I can say that you appear only with UW or when border is empty. That’s totally unfair relative to UW and maybe that’s why you have so many time to knock on their walls.

Many RoFers feel the exact opposite, that you never see BT unless UW is around attacking us. But let’s be honest, UW is everywhere all the time, they have way too many people compared to us. In reality it’s probably just paranoia on both of our sides. The only time you see a lot of us is during a community/maybe a guild a event, that’s about the only time we can get 30 in a bl. Early in the week we did focus on UW, and they had a lot on us as you could see BT bl wasn’t being touched compared to UW/Rof’s on the weekend. Our first few events were in UW, and we generally just try to pick the emptiest map so we don’t have any randoms tagging along, so we can avoid queues, etc. Yesterday we had a 4+ hour fight on and off at UW bay, the day before we had an event in your bl because no one was there from RoF. We try to pick tactically/logistically, meaning we pick who we need to pressure more/wherever we can get everybody in at.

tl;dr – both of our servers are paranoid and think the exact opposite of eachother. And UW has a lot of people :c

The fights are good fun on the field, but then I come here and see what seems to be bitterness between us all, like someone believing every team but their own is cheating and blaming the whole server, and others saying “Bt opportunistic yet again” as if that’s not acceptable in war. What gives, guys? There’s a lot of tension here for what’s an otherwise entertaining match-up.

Anyway… it’s otherwise good stuff. And my thanks to the Bt commanders and players who seem to have made an effort to communicate much better this week. It really helps and I’ve enjoying fighting alongside you.

I think for me this matchup is frustrating not because of you guys but more from our server. Our randoms/night coverage has just been beyond frustrating this week. T1 thinks they have the roughest, hardest wvw.. but they have no idea how hard it is to organize a stack in this server. It’s like ripping nails. And it just feels pointless for me to cap stuff when I get off from work and see us barely ticking 30 because UW just blows our night coverage out of the water.

Yes you see posts about people whining about UW doing something/BT, and yeah I’ll say or feel things like that like BT just riding in behind one of our servers because they’re weaker, or UW doing something, and it’ll come off like I’m calling out the whole server. But really I’m just frustated this week in WvW, and I’m sure a lot of other people are in my server. Don’t take it personally. WvW threads are always like this. You very rarely see OMG nice wipe you just had on us!!!! That’s just the nature of the beast.

I think every server gets a lot more when they’re winning down here. When we were going against FoW/Vabbi a lot of regulars took off but we had so many pvers join in that’re never there otherwise.

This matchup is just becoming very aggrivating for me. UW has just too many people for us to face. and BT just goes to our bl or comes in behind us when we go to UW a majority of the time. It’s gonna be a case of us and BT just defending our bls this week and maybe venturing a little into the other maps but we won’t be able to hold.

That whole bay battle just felt like we kept pounding our heads against a brick wall. No matter how many we killed, how many tactics we tried, they just had so many people keep replacing them. Those are some of our best wvwers, we still couldn’t get to the lord’s room due to sheer numbers. I wish someone could figure out a solution to wvw population imbalance, but I don’t think there ever will be.

Hopefully there’s some fun fights to come though.

Lol if you all don’t think you have numbers you’re blind. Right now your eb zerg easily doubles us. And last night we had a major wvw server event. We lost everything on the maps. You have a lot more, and way more organized than us,

Alright so this matchup is a million times more fun than FoW and Vabbi. I can definitely tell UW is a t6 server, way more organized, a crap load of more people, actual scouts and sieged towers, it’s beautiful yet sad at the same time.

BT really surprsing me so far, I was like 99% sure they got transfers since they’re still close to us. But when you take into account it was mainly RoF and UW fighting eachother on reset while BT bl was pretty unactive and the fact that BT is going for RoF bl after being run out of EB kinda show t9 tactics ;P Would be nice to have them in UW more but UW has just too much coverage for both of us combined (and organization.)

Really having fun though, hoping for less UW zergs, better small scale fights, and BT continuing to surprise me in this matchup.

Coming from RoF who just beat both servers by over 530K, it’s definitely clear they need to split them up. We were bored the whole time, and if you saw something flip on a map everyone would just flood to that 1 area and Vabbi and FoW just didn’t have a chance. FoW and Vabbi are capable of some okay numbers, but a lot probably don’t show up due to having nothing on any of the maps or being spawn camped. With 2 more populated servers it’d give FoW and Vabbi chances to snipe towers/camps/keeps a lot better than they have now. Seperating them I’d put as a mandatory thing in this random wvw matchup algorithm and I’d also allow them to get free transfers so they can atleast have the chance to recruit and build up.

If you leave it is like it is now you just have 3 very unhappy servers and it just ruins wvw for them.

It’s funny how carried away people get in WvW lol. me and my friends are in the random duel area just talking to some FoW and then you get all these try hards trying to kill people sitting and not fighting back :p

RoF has its fair share of people like this too, I’m usually embarassed by them though. Hopefully we can get some duels up there without people from both of our servers going AMG UP LEVELLED ENEMY ME CHASE WITH 5 PEOPLE TO KILL RAWRRR.

Does siege become invulnerable as well? If not we can clean that area with some siege of our own, can’t we?

There’s a few spots where it does, and sometimes you’ll see 5 invulnerable stack on 1 ac so you can’t even destroy it :s

It’s mainly just some FoW doing this that I see, but I am on their bl more.

Reading the past few comments it seems like what I came here for is being discussed already. I’m from RoF, and I know we outnumber you, and I know it sucks, but can you please stop finding invulnerable spots to place siege/attack us from? It’s becoming kind of annoying. I know you look out there and go wow there’s so many more of them no chance I’m jumping down, and that’s cool there’s other ways to get out. but building acs and ballistas or just having rangers barrage from invulnerable spots is just meh.

And back to RoF players running when outnumbered blah blah, you better believe we have our fair share of pvers in this week and a lot of regulars off so you definitely will see people running to npcs for protection lol. We can’t really stop everyone from running from fights :c.

Also why is FoW bl the laggiest map ever x.x?

Edit: I also forgot to mention, the invulnerable spots/more pvers this week are a very bad combo because no matter what they just stand there getting hammered and thinking why am I hitting 0’s!?!? no matter how much we tell them to stop.

We’re trying to help out our bored wvwers and FoW’s/Vabbi’s that feel hopeless/bored. Dueling is a great way for everyone to have some fun whether you’re really good or suck at it.

I’d like to thank that engi also from FoW, he didn’t win much but would keep fighting until more showed up that were willing.

Doing some 1v1 duels in FoW bl atm by Woodhaven. Pretty fun but I wish we could get more fow/vabbi :c

The word racism itself has been given a negative connotation. People feel the need to be too politically correct/sensitive these days. If I made a joke about a minority and my best friend was the same ethnicity am I really a bigot and bad person? No, I just have a generally different sense of humor.

I like how each race has names for others they find inferior, or different. It adds more flavor to them and gives their culture more of an identity. Because as much as we want to believe it, Tyria and Irl isn’t a magical paradise where we all get to ride fluttershy soaring over rainbow sprinkled ice cream cones singing whatever the latest pop craze is.

I’d like to sing call me maybe btw. Just sayin’.

The only bad thing I see is #6. The rest come off as tactical gameplay. Sieging up your towers, hiding a mesmer, “spying” is a way to be useful while you’re waiting for a wp to open up or if you’re predicting a fairely fast rez soon. WvW abilities allow you todesign your character more, if you like soloing camps you can get one of the guard abilties up, if you’re a guardian and have no range, why not take out your anger and get your ac skills up.

Just my opinion.

I liked one idea I saw, merge each server into one of the servers above. Like Vabbi goes to RoF, WSR got FoW, and Arb gets Blacktide..just something like that.

Of course those players may not like that idea because since they’re still there you know they have a lot of server pride.

It really is a huge liability if you can’t keep up the constant maintenance of it. If you’re in a tier you don’t belong in coverage wise it basically just becomes an overgrown grub of champ spirit. Pvers get all excited when they see those and SM and won’t go away no matter how much common sense you can spam.

I would love this. We beat Dz 2 out of the last 3 times, and they beat us their fairshare before that so we’re about as even as you can find down here. GH usually has more than us, but without a night cap guild it’d be a lot closer than our last fights against them.

If the Surmia transfers would’ve never happened T7 and T8 would’ve had much better fights and more even ones, but I guess you can’t help that.
