enjoy them exploited skins u nvr earned.

How is this different from my situation?

I have done all dungeons story mode. I don’t sPvP. Yet I have all dungeon skins.

I never “earned” those skins, I just moved my character forward/backwards/forwards/backwards. It only took me time. Time where I read books, fora, worked a bit on my API, just making sure I moved my character once in a while.

Increase supply PLUS reduce costs

>> reduce the cost of slivers by 2/3 (from 3 to 1)

<snip>

>> tweak Writs/Books so they are always an option to gain XP to level up. This way you can at least make a consumable to use and are not stuck at a level with only one item giving XP (e.g. Guild Banquets!)

They said there will come other ways to get those slivers. That could work too.

But your last point is the major pain point I have with scribing. I wouldn’t mind making things that are useful, but Guild Banquets? It must be the most useless item to have a huge quantity off in the entire game… Especially for that price…

My problem is mostly that you need to make a lot of useless things before you can go on to the nice things. And this is especially annoying as everything is so terribly expensive…

One question… Does the auto-attack stop the inactivity timer? Because if that’s the case, then that’s a big flaw. I personally think that running into a wall (auto run) and auto attackin (or auto healing) should never let you atay logged in longer than the timer.

Without that, people will need some macro to stay in game when AFK, and that is clearly forbidden and a bannable offence.

I would like to post smth else than staircases and like the OP said:

They’re really versatile, really big, and really good value for ingredients. Brilliant addition!

Such potential T_T

I can’t believe that I am playing sims in gw2. If only they would implement a single decoration removal skill and double the current decoration limit per area, I would be extremely happy

I am looking forward to seeing the reduced prices of the rest decorations, because price is a limiting factor of our artistic creativity

Very good job Anet devs/designers. Thank you for all of those decorations (and for SAB ofc).

considering I’m the only one in our guild bringing in those clouds and we don’t have a scribe at a high enough level to craft the really fun things, we decided to wait till the scribing update. In the meantime I’ll just gather more clouds

And you don’t need to complete tribulation for the shop achievement. Just get to one shop in one zone, which is easy enough if you follow a guide.

Let me tell you a secret: not everybody can do tribulation mode. Tribulation mode is not a matter of skill, it’s a matter of having a very high frustration threshold, a lot of time, perfect hardware and a perfect internet connection.

It took me about 100 deaths just to get one single point in W1Z1 (with those jumping stones). I appeared to be safe yet was constantly knocked off the ledge. You really think I want to try that again on another account?

Please tell me how I can exchange my furniture coins with the vendor for clouds if I have not done the furniture achievements? He doesn’t want to take the coins I’ve gotten from the daily….

You have to exchange the furniture coins with a guild hall NPC, Fion.

I did talk to her, she doesn’t have the clouds option…

Turns out, you need to have the coins in your bag (not bank) for the clouds to show up (all her other options work even if you have the item in your bank…)

TBh I don’t know how you have got clouds any other way to build your stairway. O.O

Two accounts My main account has an infinite coin, and I did that tribulation (= high frustratrion) mode on that one. But I also do the dailies on my second account and now have those furniture coins there too.

You only have to do W1Z1 in Trib mode to visit that HOT HOT HOT furniture shop. Every other furniture shop can be visited in Infantile Mode (although you receive less coins) to unlock the achievement that lets you buy furniture coins from Moto.

Everyone can contribute the furniture coins even if they don’t buy them from Moto. Also if your guild has the guild trader unlocked she sells clouds (up to 3/day if you have her fully upgraded) for guild commendations.

Anyway, definitely work on unlocking that achievement and then each furniture coin is only 25 baubles. Farm baubles in normal modes; then profit with all the clouds your guild could want. I think I’ve personally given my guild like 800+ clouds so far. Super easy, no 3+hrs of trib mode required.

Your first statement invalidates your last statement… You must do tribulation mode if you want to exchange baubles for coins.

No. Why punish those that don’t use that exploit? But if it would allow me to get that tribulation shop in W1Z1, I’d jump right in… I did that tribulation mode once on my main account to get the shops, I doubt I’ll find the drive to do it again on my second account. I really don’t like that tribulation mode, but I would like to get that coin exchange…

I made a post about this a few days ago which was then merged into the SAB thread, expect the same to happen to this one.

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/SAB-is-back-Merged/page/6#post6078076

The good news is you DON’T have to do tribulation mode to be able to scribe the new furniture. Doing so and earning that achievement only unlocks being able to buy more furniture coins for 25 baubbles.

The furniture is actually scribed from the clouds which can be earned by ANYONE in your guild doing the furniture achieves. So in theory EVERY single one of your members could do the furniture shops except the Trib one and you will have a ton of clouds for scribing.

This also means anyone else COULD do the full achievement and unlock the ability to be able to buy extra furniture coins with baubbles for your scribe to then use. But this would just be a bonus.

Please tell me how I can exchange my furniture coins with the vendor for clouds if I have not done the furniture achievements? He doesn’t want to take the coins I’ve gotten from the daily….

Usually, log in, do some dailies (PvP ones, in my private arena, and some PvE ones, only the gathering and vista ones), then visit all my characters parked at JP’s and the flax garden.

Then depending on what I feel like, I play some other part of the game the rest of my time.
If I don’t really feel like playing, I’ll play my private arena till the daily cap (which is 1/4th of a track) and then log off
If I do feel like playing, I’ll either continue leveling my current non-level 80 (which is now a thief at level 45), or I’ll continue mapping with my current mapper.

I might occasionally do a daily Fractal (3), when the daily is on a weekend day.

But these weeks, it’s more:
rush my PvP dailies, rush my harvesting and vista (if a daily), rush the JP and Flax characters and then spend way too much time in SAB :p

In the meantime however I did unlock about 60-ish clouds so far. With those I have managed to add a duel winding staircase in the front of our guild. Imagine walking into a large house with the typical winding staircase up and the typical chandelier above. That’s kind of how it looks lol, the basic flagpoles make good support beams.

PLEASE enable us to buy them in multiples of 5, 10, 20, whatever. Literally anything more than 1. Please. My hand begs you.

SAB Tribulation Mode Complaint (?)

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: LadyRhonwyn.2501

LadyRhonwyn.2501

Actually I finished it in normal mode without a torch, but that path isn’t accessible in tribulation mode as far as I know. So I never even stumbled upon that waterfall until now.

They added portals to W2 that lets you skip nearly half of the zones. The torch isn’t required for normal mode 2.0, but only because of those skips. Also, tribulation mode is meant to be unfair.

That’s “the problem”. World 2 has so many skips now. They have cut like 50% of zone 2 and zone 3. They should have kept everything and just increased the rewards instead.

The end chests could have contained something like this:
W1-Z1/Z2/Z3: 2 Baubles Bubbles (no changes)
W2-Z1: 3 Bauble Bubbles
W2-Z2: 4 Bauble Bubbles
W2-Z3: 4 Bauble Bubbles

But nooo… they took too long and had to be shortened instead…

They are so boring now and taking the longer way (harder way) is really unrewarding.

Either you play SAB for fun, and do the entire path, or you play SAB fot the end reward and take the shortcut. I like W2Z2 (the darts) so I do those, but I really hate those falling pillars in W2Z3, so I’d rather skip those. And with these changes, I can actually do that.

About Tribulation Mode: if there’s one part of GW2 that isn’t meant to be fair, it’s that. It’s meant to annoy and frustrate and only for those with perfect hardware and internet connections. (which is why I think they should have hidden that furniture shop at the start, not end of it…. those jumping rocks killed me about a hundred times before I fluked myself across it)

So the point of this post? Moaning about having to buy the infinite coin to succeed easier at SAB? No. If anything the big selling point of SAB being about the new guild hall decorations when a good chunk of the population wont be able to get access to those (except the basic cloud) because of the fact they are tied behind having to do tribulation mode.

The only thing it unlocks is the ability to buy those furniture coins from Moto. The only thing you can buy from those coins are clouds. But those clouds are crafting ingredients for the scribe to make other SAB elements.

I was under the wrong impression apparently. I really hope that ANet does change this. Tribulation mode is not for everybody and everybody will get furniture tokens if they play SAB for the daily. Most of those tokens will now never be used…

To OP:

You knew you would buy a product that wouldn’t have everything implemented at the start. Ideas are made, some ideas are worked out and some ideas are found too expensive to make. It’s what happens everywhere. At least you got a game that is fully functional, that will be added to, in time, maybe not with the content that was told you at the start, but there will be new content.

I personally wouldn’t see a reason to offer a refund at all, especially not after almost half a year of play time.

Poll: Legendaries or Living World / Story?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: LadyRhonwyn.2501

LadyRhonwyn.2501

This issue with legendary weapons is it’s one skin and if you don’t like it, you’re out of content. I didn’t like most of the original legendaries. I made 8 of the ones I liked. It’s just too hit and miss.

The same goes for expansions in general. If you don’t like this particular content, but not that, you’ll pay for both as it’s one package.
I don’t care about those raids, I prefer open world content. But the only updates we’ve had since Hot are raids.

I’d rather have more open world changes that can be enjoyed by a majority of the players instead of content that is only enjoyed by a minority of very rich (both in gold and in active friend list/guild) players.

Legendary weapons

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: LadyRhonwyn.2501

LadyRhonwyn.2501

So, since there won’t be anymore legendary weapons released for the masses to go after in the standard PVE environment how about unlocking legendary armor outside of the raid? Just a thought, since there are still many who haven’t been able to have even one successful raid. I think this might be a fair compromise for the loss of new legendary weapons.

You mean there are still many who have not even set foot in those raids…
And there are still many who don’t even have a legendary of the “first” batch. After 3 years of playing.

I am not one bit disappointed in this decision. Those precursors require a huge amount of grinding, both for RNG drops and for gold so you can make the other ingredients. And then there’s the legendary itself to be done…

Regarding the Expansion 2

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: LadyRhonwyn.2501

LadyRhonwyn.2501

I personally don’t care about that balancing. It’s more that the direction of the game is completely geared towards the hardcore players. Check the latest update. It’s only a raid, nothing for those people that will never be able to do raids as raids are not made for casuals…

I’m going to presume that any new expansion will only add more content for the hard core people, and hardly anything for the rest of the player base.

“hardcore” and “casual” are nonsensical to me. You’re either play the game or you don’t.

In response to you, you should be concerned with PvE balance as well. Excessive power creep will dull your experience, and a profession that outclasses yours would essentially remove your spot from raids.

Balance is a huge deal to WvW and PvP players for obvious reasons.

Hardcore is spending two to three hours (or more) doing something difficult in one go.
Casual is spending 10 minutes here and 10 minutes there and finally taking about 2 weeks to get that same thing done.

HoT won’t allow me to do that. If I spend 10 minutes in a map, I won’t get most of the content done there. It’ll take a lot of time (in one sitting) to even get a chance for one of the armour pieces for instance.

A good example of casual gameplay would be the collecting parts of the precursor hunts. I can spend 10 minutes here and 10 minutes there, getting one part done each time. In the end it’ll take me 300 minutes, spread across multiple weeks.

And how would balancing improve the game if there’s no new content? Replaying old content will become boring eventually, no matter how much balancing you throw against it.

Hi im bumping this topic rather than creating my own, i have seen the solution people have come up with where they do the heart on an alt that didnt have the heart yet to get the item and i am in disbelief at what terrible design that is.
what if we had complete map completion would we be expected to buy a character slot or delete a character just to get this one item to finish the legendary journey?

On the wiki talkpage though there is mention of someone doing it on a 100% character and i believe i have found the chest that guy is talking about only it is open and uninteractable so this whole terrible ordeal may just be a bug

This is why I probably won’t even get passed the first stage. The amount of Elonian leather squares required stops me. You need that for guild upgrades, for all ascended armour crafting and for the precursors. Even the first tier of all non-underwater precursors cost more than 100g for one part of the crafting list (I haven’t checked the prices on the steel and wood, as you can dedicated farm fir those materisls instead of relying on RNG)

LadyRhonwyn.2501

I have learned to never accept the request to change. It always moves you to a less populated map in my experience. I learned this way back with the marionette event. However when it forces a map change in the middle/end of an event is not only frustrating but needs to be addressed and fixed. BTW, the only time I use it now is when I farm material or the event is over. It does come in handy when farming.

I was in DS last week. A fresh map, people started gathering and shortly after the meta started, the dreaded messages popped. I was in a squad, and we’d just started, so, I switched and switched back.
The meta advanced nicely, and we got to the end phase. Exactly one hour after the message popped, the map closed (so we had still almost one hour on the clock left!). Everybody got dumped in an hour-old map, without any progress.

And an hour of my time wasted….

TIL Not Joining a Squad gets you called out

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

I also think this in unaccaptable behavior. As long as spoken player and his group help meta event and participates – why the kitten somebody should pick on them for not joining a squad?

I even think it’s unacceptable to think that every person on the map has the same goal as you. Maybe that player is there to finish his or her map completion. Or helping somebody else to finish his or her map completion.
Those persons will help at events (and thus will gain progress) but it won’t be their focus. And as they’ll lose their progress if they changed maps, I won’t blame them for not doing so.

Just wasted an hour of my time in DS.

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: LadyRhonwyn.2501

LadyRhonwyn.2501

Perhaps ArenaNet should think about making the timed maps exempt from the Mega-server closing system. Not just for a map where people want to succeed in the meta events, but also for people who have had been doing small events, like when I was doing the SCAR events in Tangled Depths, I get to halfway through them, when the volunteer pops up – meaning if I click yes, I lose my 160% or whatever progress. If I click no, I stand to end up on my own for some of the more difficult events.

And then lose your progress anyway after an hour because if you get the popup once, you will be moved to a more empty, euh, I mean more active, map, even thiugh your current map was doing fine…

One reason I prefer not to do any events in any Hot map: you can very easily lose your progress without any blame on your side.

Metas have unique rewards as with most things, if you want something from a meta play the meta, if you cant play the meta, they you wont get the reward, its not life threatening.

What this does give is choice, I can choose to play metas, or choose not to. Choice is good, a game that avoids choice but somehow expects it to appeal to a big audience is not good. RNG is also good, theres far too much self entititled I should be guaranteed stuff asap, its dull, getting a drop you wanted for a lot more fun,. and if it don’t drops well that just adds value to your next run, not having a skin for another week is not the end of the world either.

It’s not that I don’t want to play the meta, I don’t care if it’s difficult or not. I just don’t like the fact that I can do my best and not get anything, and by the time the entire map is up to scratch, and I could have (maybe) gotten something, but not based on my effort, I have to leave. A two-hour meta means it’s generally too long, you may maybe only get one try.

I’m a casual player & I’m enjoying HoT. Most of the time I do things on my own, solo but sometimes I go do things with a player mob. If I can run around doing things mostly by myself then surely other ppl can too. I’m not some leet solo min-maxer that can kill everything just by looking at them either. I just some schmuck that not-so-randomly presses buttons on mouse & kboard. If a doofus like me can run around doing stuff then other ppl far more skilled can do so as well.

Again, a casual player is not a player that wants only easy things. A casual player wants to do things in his or her own time.
I have an hour to play? I want to work on this collection in that hour, and not be stopped because the game schedule prevents me.
I want to get that armor box you maybe only get from a T4 map in VB? I must first be lucky enough to actually find a T4 map, then be there long enough to get 200% participation, and also in the timespan I can actually play. And then you don’t get it as the RNG god is against you…

Hot in itself isn’t too bad, as long as you don’t want something that is tied to the meta (be it adventures, loot, or map completion points)

To those that say that getting silver isn’t hard: not everybody has the same reflexes. I only tried the adventures in Verdant Brink, but I already found one where I couldn’t get silver: Shooting Gallery. My luck must be bad because every single try, once the first round is done (and the dunnies start to repeat), they go so far out of order that I have to run from one side of the areana to the other after each dummy. And I need time to locate them then target them. I’m not as young as I used to be….

What makes a playstyle / build fun to you?

For me, it’s the same as Danikat. I don’t really care about efficiency, but more about positioning and action. My favorite is torch and axe on the ranger.

I’ve been unable to turn off the action cam in shooting gallery. Can this actually be done?

There is a control option: Toggle Action Camera and Disable Action Camera. They are by default not bound to a key, so you’ll have to bind them yourself.

I think the part that needs to be fixed in the shooting game is the kittening aim with the screen being locked to the mouse.

That’s the action cam. You can turn it off.

The part that needs to be fixed is that you shouldn’t run from one end of the arena to the other and back to the one end again. One try, after the first round of dummies (which is on the other side of the valley), I had to return all the way to the other corner again, and the next dummy was again on the far side of the canyon. I thought it was a shooting practice, not a running practice…

Meta events are a pain to set up? Seems like you have problems there, ether off times for your server, not using the LFG for taxi’s or that in itself is too much work.

I just had entered a map that was going for T4. We’re talking prime time here. So we started. And get the update notice. Ok, can happen, we all update and will try again after the patch. Patch happens, we all return and do our best in the time we had left. We finally get a hair from T4. No matter, we’ll just do it the next cycle.
The next cycle is busy, and again the update notice. And thus another try ruined.
And that’s were the irritation comes from. Bot because two cycles were ruined, but two cycles in a row were ruined. On prime time. If both updates had been in one cycle, I doubt OP would have made the post.

And the one “complaining” about the 14 crowbars, I agree, those are not important. But there are also rewards that you’ll only get from a T4 map. And I personally have only seen a T4 map twice. I don’t play Hot that often, and thus it’s highly annoying if you decide to play Hot maps, your plans are interrupted like this.
