To be honest, it kills all summoned AI and removes all forms. Its just we suffer the most because we have more commonly used forms and summoned AI than any other profession.
The thing is with marks is that, unlike guardian, an entire specialization isn’t dedicated to them, so they do not need to be on every weapon like symbols are.
As for staff, it doesn’t need changing. If you think it does, you obviously don’t play WvW Also not every weapon needs to be amazing in every gamemode.If you do not think any change is needed, this is your right!
The thing with marks was just a suggestion.Also, I do play WvW and PvP and always bring a staff. I know staff is very useful, though I would argue that staff in big WvW group fights is not amazing, just the best we have and our pressure really comes from other skills (well, shroud etc…) and mostly our ability to strip/corrupt boons. But part of what makes staff so useful in my mind (in PvP mostly) is that it gives life force thanks to the trait (and the unblockable means unblockable CC), and if this could be spread out to other weapons, this may make other weapons more attractive and allow me to leave my staff from time to time.
Finally, not every weapon needs to be amazing in every game mode, but I feel like our off-hand are usually not that great overall.
Its just I see so many “revamp staff, staff is bad” threads that make me roll my eyes, so i just wanted to put that out there before it did escalate into that
But on a different note, I’d love to see Axe revamped as a melee condition weapon. Give it small duration burns on auto with maybe a different condi on final auto hit, so its not pure power creepy burn. Maybe a small leap (gasp… a necro leap) with blast finisher and another damaging condition, similar to Revenant mace #3. Then maybe a short chill field on #3.
Also revert Dhuumfire so it is the same as the engineer trait Incendiary Powder (2 stacks if 4s burn on crit, 10 icd – 33% longer burns).
If they add any more llamas, it’ll cause Llamagedon!

I would think it would proc when you attack is blocked, misses or evaded. Also there are two types on invuln, the kind whereby you hit your foe but do 0 damage (vs a warrior with endure pain) or the Righteous Indignation (WvW). It does proc for RI, I just tested it, but I wouldn’t think it would proc for 0 damage invulns, since your attack isn’t negated but rather the damage is.
I’m hoping for a nice old undead themed legendary dagger that I can use on my Necromancer, since reaper greatsword was a letdown.
The raven mini was out long before Nevermore. Tiger mini was made for the tiger legendary.
They should give necros " empathy from gw1" since we are ment to get hit and according to devs " necros want to get hit " empathy was really strong , u had to stop atacking, a thief would kill himself in 4 secs if he wouldnt stop atacking.
Skills in gw1 are much more fun.
And u have loads to pick.
Oh man, what I’d do for the old gw1 necromancer hexes. Insidious Parasite and Spiteful Spirit especially. And then Orders as our party support.
The only times I notice it are during 3 way fights for SM. While yes they definitely need to fix it, at least it is balanced in that all 3 teams suffer equally.
This should be the new thing for anet. X creature atop your shoulder: parrot, raven, cat. So many possibilities.
I personally don’t like the giant world ending monster type foes. Enemies like Scarlet briar or the White Mantle are far more interesting.
They often add skins to the wardrobe or just in game (that can be dat mined) long before release. Nevermore’s skin link was available like a year or so before the release of HoT.
Or they could just change lich form and plague form into :
lich form : instant. no more transformation. Lich form grant you a 10% direct damage and condi damage buff for x seconds. While under lich form, gain stability for 3 second every 3 second.
Plague form : instant. no more transformation. Plague form grant you a buff that reduce incoming damage by 50% and poison attackers for 3-4 second each time you’re struck. While under plague form, gain stability for 3 second every 3 second.
Obviously the 2 new form also work while you are in shroud. In my opinion, just these tiny change should help a lot the necromancer. It feel like nothing but it give reliable stability, allow a choice between defense and offense, remove the horrendous lich skin… etc.
I had a similar idea but with Lich form make it a party buff with the +10% damage/condi damage buff.
Edit: I hate forms and really wish they’d replace them like they did with Guardian Tomes.

I prefer having loot boxes. It means I can farm and farm without having to stop every 5 minutes to salvage all my loot because of a full inventory.
and if we couldnt open boxes on lower level characters the price of ascended gear would skyrocket.

Adding a base damage to all wells would mean they now also trigger Vampiric and Vampiric Aura. Not a big buff but a good QoL change in my opinion.

He’s great for skipping the electric floor on aetherblade fractal or for soloing heat room without any rods in Thaumanova. Sure a pure teleport skill would be better but us necros never get anything that easy. Hell even our elite spec gap closer is locked behind our Shroud (Death’s Charge).
None of them are technically projectiles. They are ground targeted AoE. If they were to change it to the way you want, it would also block skills such as Necro Marks and Elementalist Lava Font since they are also ground target aoe. The animation has no bearing on the skill type.
In PvE if you want to have both blood magic and death magic traits as well as curses. Also i don’t think the chill damage stacks with other players.
For example in raids you might want the extra minions and condi transfers as well as the shroud 4 rezing trait and healing from blood magic.
Deathly chill was changed a long while back. It does a stack of bleed on chill now instead of straight up chill damage so you can stack necros without overriding each other now.
Hiding any part of the Mursaat outfit is blasphemy. You do not deserve the outfit!
focus necromancers have a lot of traits for minions but not many way to create minions. Now if you want to be a minion mancer you are going to use minion utilities but with some of these changes you might notice you get enough minion to make the minion traits worth taking.
That’s a problem though. We already have enough ways to create minions without running any actual minion skills (Rise, Death Nova and Lich Form). Really they need to change the current minion skills to something more desirable rather than adding more cheesy ways of creating them as you have suggested.

Berserker is an elite spec and a stat.
Yes, Necromancer had such a huge handicap in PvE before Reaper that it still boggles my mind how any of us stuck it out.
The one time I felt useful back then was when they first changed traitlines into specialisations. Well of Darkness was viable for stacking blind, chill and vuln via chilling darkness (no icd) and bitter chill. We had Vampiric Presence which seemed big at the time as we weren’t used to having party support. All wells triggered both Vampiric and Vampiric Presence, as well as Vampiric Rituals, before they fixed it as a “bug”. Good times.
And dyeable backpieces while they’re at it.

In WvW, backlining with staff/wells is extremely fun, especially when you are sniping enemies for 10k with your homing Life Blast (now only does the higher tier damage rather than having it split between >600 and <600 with piercing baseline). But yes, for pve there are almost no cons unless you are in an area where melee is impossible.
It is interesting to know that Necromancers have the second lowest total of Damage increasing traits (2nd to, guess who? Mesmers), +30% (or +40% if you include the axe trait). But any who here are some of the ideas I came up with:
Cold Shoulder – Move the Chilled duration increase to Shivers of Dread. Add a damage increase of 10% to chilled foes.
Reaper’s Onslaughter – Attack speed increase now affects Greatsword.
Strength of Undeath – Change to Major second tier trait. Change to you deal +10% damage while in shroud. Shroud skill recharge is decreased by 20%.
Vital Persistence – Change to Minor third tier trait. Change to Max Life force is increased by 15%. Life Force drains 50% slower in shroud.
Going on what you said about a damage buff in Blood magic, I always thought it should give +5% damage to bleeding foes given the theme of blood and vampires throughout the line.
At the end of the day though I do enjoy Necros ruling the Fractal meta after so many years of “no necro” meta. Even if it means being stuck in one build.
Maybe in casual pvp. Anything more and you’re going to be dragging your team down. At the end of the day Greatsword is a “if you enjoy it, use it” weapon.
Honestly it’s a weapon we should have had since day one (since we lacked a 3+ target melee weapon) in that time when power builds ruled Gw2 and dungeons were the main endgame.
If Thieves get 15 initiative baseline then Necros should get the increased lifeforce pool baseline too. And all the other professions should get their 5th specialization bonus as a baseline too.
Your main weapon skills costs aren’t balanced around your resource pool on those classes while the majority of Thief weapon skills are. And other classes don’t have all their Swaps/attunements/kits tied to 1 resource pool so your argument is pretty invalid.
I would advocate more for the thief to have their weapon skills actually all be balanced around the 12 Initiative pool instead of increasing the baseline Initiative, I can just see Anet taking the easier route which would be making Preparedness baseline.
The original argument was over being forced to take the traitline because of said bonus. Though my point was invalid over other professions, Necromancers almost always have to take soul reaping because of their reliance on Life force generation and shroud degeneration.
Since when have venoms ever been linked with stealth though? I thought the idea was to stop with the clusterkitten of merged traits that was Thief specializations.
Please Anet add a Fractal Portal Stone to the gemstore (like the Home Portal Stone but usable anywhere). My hunger for convenience is growing.
I’m not sure what you’re complaining about. There’s an expensive weapon set that you dislike? Well that works in your favour considering you don’t have to buy any of them.
I still think Leeching Venoms should be moved to Deadly Arts (the condi line)

I like the Signet idea but I’ve always thought that Signet of Vampirism should have the passive effect.
Saving builds would just kill any originality people have already. Copy/Paste from metabattles would be a literal thing after they introduce it.

Also we now know the Deep Sea Dragon’s name starts with an ‘S’.

I’d be happy if they normalised both the Necro and Thief pull, so they acted the same way as Engineer’s Magnet. Remove the damage/chill and life force but make unblockable and a non projectile.

People wanting to be at the top level of performance, speed, etc has no bearing on weather or not “idiots” exist. What makes someone that doesn’t meet your personal preconceived level of play, or someone who simply has a different play style/system then you and idiot?
Your idea of “idiots” wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for elitism, you are labeling those you feel don’t play up to your standards as idiots. There will ALWAYS be differences in player ability. That doesn’t make others idiots.
When I say idiots I mean those people that try to join raids with no research done on how to do the raid, no knowledge of what is required from them and just generally someone who wants to be carried for free loot. I’ve helped plenty of new people get started with raids but I have no time for the previous people I’ve mentioned.
I’d also like to see a new set of minions to give more diversity in playstyle: for instance, summoning a set of 3 long-range minions that are weak on defense but can shoot while moving and maneuver to stay at a distance from their target, or a set of two tanky minions that are meant stun/immobilize but are slow/easily kited. Or, how about aerial minions that swoop in to inflict conditions.
Non player creatures can’t move and attack. It’s is not mechanically possible unfortunately.

In pve maybe. Play another game mode and you’ll see just how boring pve really is.
Disconnections are not always the fault of Anet as people often say. Usually it is your own internet that is the cause of the problem.
Increasing duration or radius might be an alternative to damage.
I wouldn’t mind what damage they give. It could be the lowest co-efficient in gw2 but it would just mean it triggers vampiric and vampiric aura.
Well of Darkness is just a horrible skill all around. The other wells are OK, though if they are bugged, for example not triggering proper effects, they ought to be fixed.
There is also no Elite Well.
As someone on the forums said a few days back “we have an elite well, its just confused and thinks it is a corruption utility”.

Why exactly should they be banned? They aren’t doing anything against the rules.
Currently only 2 of the 5 Necromancer wells have a damage value. Power, Darkness and Blood do not, therefore not triggering the life steal from Vampiric and Vampiric Aura. I suggest Anet adds a damage value to those 3 wells.
Well of Blood and Power should get a damage value similar to Choking Gas – 73 (0.2).
Well of Darkness should get the same damage as Well of Corruption – 798 (0.5). It is currently the worst Necro well and deserves some love.they actually all trigger the vampiric effects.
They only trigger the Vampiric Rituals life steal. Not the Vampiric or Vampiric Aura life steal.
