All we need is faster projectile with a bit higher damage. But we know this will never be changed, so why bother…

Which is why 100% projectile finisher would be good. Means those chill fields we use staff 1 in can have some use with deathly chill and all the other traits. And all the other good condi fields too.

Let me preface this with I’m still getting the hang of combos in general. This seems like it would pair great with Chillblains poison field if it was reliable. It seems like that or changing/making our blast finisher Putrid mark cause a bleed with enfeeble via the weapon or from the curses talent weakening shroud.

Any thoughts? Just seems like two neglected skills that could really improve the QoL for necro.

So you want 100% combo chance AND the life force gain on a piercing projectile? Sure, there are enough situations where you can’t reliably use it for the pierce but still.
It’s quite powerful for the auto attack on what is essentially a support weapon (yes, i mean that).

I’d say generally balance doesn’t count life force gain on skills. Rather its just a profession bonus. So no I don’t think it would be considering overpowered.

i love the outfit, it fits my halo themed character perfectly.
however, i personally am not a fan of the helmet front, a more functional eye window would be more my style. (even in halo there re some illogic helmets, never liked them)

That’s the best bit imo. Very Grey Fox from metal gear solid. Each to their own though.

First off, I’ve got to say I love this outfit.

Only complaint is you cannot toggle the shiny floaty bits. Would be great if toggling your shoulder piece would toggle them.

Yes because those +(x) pips for your current skirmish place don’t encourage winning skirmishes? /s You’re basically saying the system is broken because an incredibly small minority of people abuse it. However most “active” encouragement systems, as you call it, would result in far more people abusing it as a ktrain. The current system is fine. May need some tuning (as people have suggested with outnumbered – only gain if you’ve been on the map for 2.5 minutes or more) but nothing major.

And yet another example for people mostly posting here to troll rather than engaging in constructive debates!

First off, its not a minority abusing the outnumbered pips and i don’t blame them because the current pip system encourages abusing it rather than promoting actually playing the game mode.

Secondly, the current system only rewards single skirmishes and it really makes almost no difference if you come in first, second or last place! The overall match up doesn’t reward anything at the moment! This needs to change!

What this game needs in all game modes is a reward system that encourages participating and engaging in content and stepping away from the “all who show up receive a medal” mentality!

So I give a valid counter to your original statement and you call me a troll? Very constructive of you.
1. I speak for FA when I say there is only a small minority abusing the outnumbered pips. And Anet has already said they are changing the way outnumbered works. A few of said abusers are actually just people waiting for their participation to degeneration to get those last pips before they logout. There’s nothing sinful about that.

2. And how does that not encourage winning? Maybe a final boost of pips for those who participated for the entire skirmish would be in order, I can agree to that.

3. Lastly, as I said before. Most suggestions so far to an active reward of pips (for capping objectives etc.) would only encourage Ktrains. If you have an actual idea of what this active encouragement should be that wouldn’t also encourage ktrainers, please do say. I’m open to the idea, but so far no one seems to have come up with anything good enough.

Take a lesson from history. Bows/crossbows etc were so often derided as cowardly weapons throughout their historic use by melee fighters. Mainly because they didn’t want to admit how powerful said weapons were.
The same can be said for stealth in gw2. It’s a legitimate and powerful tactic that so many deride as cowardly.

The only issue i see with this is that if you die – and WP you gain the bags/loot from the tagging you’ve done – you’ve removed yourself from the fight and yet are still getting loot – how is it different from being dead? – if your zerg wins happy days you get rev’d, if you respawn and just sit and wait (or run back to the zerg) you still gain the loot?

I mean that would be a better idea, but I guess its Anet’s way of meeting us half way. But OP wants a mile after being given an inch.

QoL Shield Gen

Idea for Shield generators. Make it so stopping any siege projectiles (trebs catas etc) with Force Dome grants the equivalent in participation that said siege damage would give. Just a little incentive to those willing to sit on them, especially when no commander is about to give shared participation.

Personally I use Sigil of Malice and Sigil of Bursting for most of my condi builds, even outside necro. It tends to cover a bit of everything with a nice slight boost to condi damage.

Sigil of bursting is bad. It actually is less damage than geomancy and way more expensive.

Aye it increases your base condition damage stat rather than actual condi damage.

Crinn summed it up best. Double the bleed duration, so for things like Pve, geomancy will always be better since you don’t need the covering condition there.

Not to mention I have no idea why wvwers would object to an update to auto loot that would result in getting more loot. Especially when all wvwers complained about for years was no loot/rewards…. but whatever lol.

This is one of those suggestions, where if Anet just changed it so you got loot no matter what every wvw would say, “we like this” or “good job Anet more loot” but because I’m suggesting it, it’s an absolutely horrible idea, for some reason which nobody can figure out.

I mean at best it’s more loot, at worst it’s irrelevant, but you know keep up the good fight.

People object because it encourages people to lay dead on the ground instead of releasing and running back to the fight.

I can’t recall ever playing a game where, when you died (essentially when you failed in some way), you still automatically were given every bit of the loot you would have acquired if you stayed alive, contributed to the fight, got ressed by a comrade, or used other mechanics (like WP) to rejoin the battle. Maybe I’m misunderstanding, but shouldn’t death have a death penalty of some sort? It’s modest enough, with the mechanics in place, but should it be zero?

Yes, I do believe that such functionality would discourage active play. “I’m dead. I’ll just lie here and gather all my goodies while I go order a pizza. Doesn’t cost me a thing to be inactive — I’ll still get 100% of the loot either way.” Does that even make sense? Or am I misunderstanding the suggestion?

Gaile, If you played as much WvW as I have, you would know how many times I’ve missed out on rare items (the ones that drop in the form of a chest), as a blob instantly comes in and k.o.‘s me and our team literally as the last bit of health from a champion is killed, and LITERALLY 1 second later after I’ve died, my loot bag/s (and occasionally) rare item chest drop by my corpse. How is this fair? I miss out on my loot because we get killed, and the boss just so happened to die literally 1 second later?

You don’t seem to play much either if that is your tactic. You should have scouts posted and prepare to engage or duck out of the lord room, if an enemy zerg arrives. People who sit at lord when an enemy zerg ass jams them don’t deserve said loot.

@ Malerian.8435 , what about WvW Veterans, they don’t deserve anything?! i know many WvW Veterans that quit GW2 because of that, no reward at all! At least, reward them with some respect.

If you’re a veteran, you almost definitely play the mode for the mode itself, not the rewards. Can’t say I’ve heard a Wvw vet leaving because of lack of rewards though. Desert BL, lack of balance, HoT power creep: yes. But not rewards.

As much as I love being nearly invincible already, that would make shroud necros fairly op. Wouldn’t need to take your soul is mine, wouldn’t really need rise, or any other life force generator. Would ruin the point of any other life force generator.

If they did change it to damage → lifeforce then they’d need to make a few adjustments. I did have a similar idea a while back where it lasted for 3 seconds, all regular damage was reduced to 0 (like feel no pain) and whilst your life force was above a certain amount, you gained life force from hits. This would stop players from gaining an instant 100% life force bar.

im not talking about pve stuff or bronze silver pvp, and i think such persons like you better keep silence if u think taht spamming shroud if bad way to play when u are dying at very low health and shroud is 2-1 sec cd and it would really save your life or win game for you. Yea sure we cant spam it right now because of instacast and 0 exit cd, tahts why its bad. If u dont get it just donw write anything and u wont look like animal in my eyes.

Clearly you belong in those sorts of areas if you require a 1 second cooldown on shroud. Come back when you’ve learnt to play Necromancer properly.

100 badges per 1 WvW ticket

The topic title says it.
It will give stronger incentives for both soft/hardcore wvw players to “actively” play WvW more, rather than leave after pip track is complete.
+ No more complaints about badges are rather useless
+ X #of badges per X# of tickets can change but I say 100 badges per wvw skrimish ticket seems fair for both players and ANet.

and yes I know this or similar complaint/suggestion has been made in the past, but I just wanted to keep this topic up in first page regularly.

Soft and hardcore players stayed playing wvw before pips were a thing so I think you’ll find that they are the ones that carry on playing after they get their last ticket chest. It’s the people that just come for the tickets that are the problem you speak about, and the quicker they get tickets, the more likely they are to stop playing once they get their reward.

To prevent shopping for outnumbered buff why not just make it so that you dont get the full outnumbered pip bonus unless you have been on that map for at least half the time of that round. That way no one can just jump in on the last minute.

Definitely the most reasonable idea. It’s popped up quite a few times on the forums and in game.

So….. Let me get this straight…..

You’re essentially running a PvE build, and not moving with the tag, laying there dead, and complaining about missing out on 3 spikes and blue shoulderpads?

The majority of wvw rewards DO NOT come from bags but from reward tracks and now the pip rewards. 250 loot bags is still only ~12 gold.

Being too lazy to WP is a plague in both PvE and WvW. The useless carcass gets in the way of ressing people that are downed and also puts people who don’t know any better about ressing down vs defeated in danger of getting killed themselves. Therefore that behavior may be permitted, but certainly not encouraged. Rightfully so. People like that who try to justify that need to GTFO of the game, so tolerance is already beyond our responsibility.

so apparently nobody dies in wvw or zerg fights according to you, and certainly not players with offensive stats as opposed to defensive. The same offensive stats which causes this situation of bags to drop on the ground when you die, BEFORE you can access your map and way point.

So apparently the solution is to never die (not going to happen) or just run full nomads and stay on the tag…. got it.

People who learn to position themselves properly don’t die. And people who run full offense in a zerg really should take a few more defensive pieces/traits. Its incredibly unlikely that a load of bags will drop as soon as you die, since that would suggest your side is winning the fight. If it does happen then you’re just badly positioned and need to learn to get into a better position and/or revamp your build so you are more tanky. As a wise man once said “a dead zerker does no damage” and in this case gets no bags either.

They already tried this during HoT beta with Reaper’s Shroud, but the feedback they got made them remove it.

That’s because the beta weekened “fix” was a full-on 1 second cooldown. What they ought to do what they did with other sequence skills where there is just a tiny aftercast that only affects the sequence. This allows the skill to be double pressed, but disallows misfire.

OP’s original suggestion was a 1s cd so I think we can both agree that shouldn’t happen. A tiny aftercast wouldn’t be out of the question but I still think stand by my original statement that catering to people don’t know how to not spam or (to a much much lesser extent) people that are just lagging is a bad idea in general.

They already tried this during HoT beta with Reaper’s Shroud, but the feedback they got made them remove it. You’re a minority in wanting this, no matter how loudly you shout on the forums.
Also as I wrote on reddit, balancing around lag and people’s inability not to spam buttons is not the way a company should balance.

And yet they already fixed revenant facets, and engi turrets because of this. Literally every single flip skill in the game except for necromancer shroud has had this problem fixed.

The bug is so common that it’s mentioned on the official wiki page for death shroud.

What exactly did they fix for rev facets? Because if I spam Darkness (both instant cast like shroud) like a madman, then the exact same thing happens as it does with shroud. If you hold down your shroud button to go into shroud, it doesn’t instantly pop you out of it. So it is a l2not frantically tap your shroud key issue.

I get where you’re coming from but that’s a core issue, not specific to staff.

weapon skills are part of the core especially when talking about skills

But you could justify adding an invuln/evade/turn damage into health skill onto any of our weapon skills since we don’t have it already. The problem doesn’t lay with staff. It’s just you aren’t a fan of it since it isn’t used for what you want it to be used for. Thus you want to change it.

But in all seriousness, yes people just need to stop bashing f1 or anticipate said lag. As someone who used to live with the most terrible internet, I know you can anticipate it. Its as simple as “if your skill doesn’t go off at first, don’t press the button again” because you’re lagging.

The majority of wvw rewards DO NOT come from bags but from reward tracks and now the pip rewards.

Being too lazy to WP is a plague in both PvE and WvW. That behavior is permitted, but certainly not encouraged. Rightfully so.

A lot of commander’s don’t bother resurrecting these peeps for that very reason. Some might say a harsh punishment but I say justified for their laziness.

I care. i play pve therefore i criticize from my point of view. besides, necro in pvp is also a trash tier since it relies heavily on support and has tragic survivability when compared to classes that can shadowstep, evade, block, invuln, turn dmg to health etc

Those Condi thieves really sucks. The whole WvWvW is full with condis now and anet really think this should be fun? How pathetic. I will now really leave this game because it is really unfun to play. I can spend my freetime for more better games than this kitten.

why blame em? i left many times cus of something minor or just cus of boredom..
i just return months later and most of kitten has changed like nowadays i returned and all people are into condi’s and here im with my power thief/power reaper not giving a kitten about meta just blasting my way thru, and yes i hate condi cus its kitten easy to play.

Don’t pretend that power reaper is any harder to play than condi. In fact that’s one of the reasons I started out by playing power necro (pre HoT and then again post HoT) in wvw because it was so kitten easy to play and so good at tagging/damaging. At least condi necro had some harder aspects to pull off, like getting a good epidemic off (before they nerfed it into the ground). People that didn’t play it think otherwise I know, but the amount of times you’d get a successful epidemic off was surprisingly low.
