Currently there is a spot you can glide into Ogrewatch if you own pangloss. Please fix this anet by expanding OW territory into pangloss’.
2 seconds of 2 Torment isn’t much. It’s also just your shades that do that attack.
The attack also procs off yourself too.
Ah well I guess it’s kinda lackluster if your enemy isn’t moving.
They updated Torment so that, in pve, it now deals same damage as bleeding vs non moving foes but slightly less vs moving foes than before.
Actually the reaper is a hybrid elite, but with PoF the Scourge will be the Power based elite
To say scourge will be a power based spec is laughable. Everything we know about it suggests it is a condi/support boon rip spec, specializing in dealing torment and burning.
I write Scourge instead of Reaper, I’m sorry XD
Only a little mistake. The scourge is mainly condition, everything of that elite scream “conditions!”
still if that condition spam is not so much if compared to the actual reaper.
But the elite, the F5 and the torch used at the same time will grant a huge condi spam, still if for few seconds
Ah it all makes sense now ^^
Creative raid builds hah. Joke of the week.
Glad to make your day
I didn’t mean to sound insulting. Sorry if I was but raiding is very much the least creative area of gw2.
Haven’t tried it with Bitter Chill yet, but with Deathly Chill and Chilling Darkness it is applying the correct conditions.
I’m still livid over taking away our shroud cooldown. Core necro is shafted like no tommorow with 1 stack of stab every 10s with foot in the grave. It was already bad as it was already..
So now instead of getting feared from corrupted stab every 7s you’ll get feared every 10s. I’d say that was a buff.

Most likely they are saving those nerfs for later upon release of PoF. If they’d done them all now, you’d have 99% of the necro player base on suicide watch.
See I’m dead against making weapons that are supposed to be one thing, into another. Take Greatsword for instance. Power weapon but it has become a condi weapon because of traits, which disgusts me more than afk engi turret farming. No thanks.
I fail to see any reason to pick this trait now
Anet’s reasoning behind it was that it clashed with Spiteful Spirit too much. If you want to go boon rip, SS is the path they want you to take.
I was kittened at the jagged horror nerf, but it highlighted a bigger problem with necro, which is that we needed a kittenty gimmick to be viable.
for me and many that relied on 7sec Speed of Shadows isnt a fkng buff
They should make it baseline to be honest. Both SoS and VP changes were made because they didn’t work with Scourge, that’s the bottom line.
T
Spiteful Renewal:Has anyone checked if this works with Consume Conditions (I didn’t get to play yet), like does it consume the self applied vulnerability after the cast?
Yes it eats the self vuln if untraited (slight delay after heal skill) and eats the blind if traited with master of corruptions.
They should have really added this next reset.
Typically those who didn’t need SR were those who played braindead Condi based builds (to include hybrids). This was supposed to be the patch that buffed power reaper, not nerf them into oblivion.
You literally just got a trait that allows you an extra 270 Power whilst in Shroud, and you think it’s unfair you can’t stay in Shroud as long.
Said trait is at the cost of our +20% damage whilst foe is below 50% hp. Seems like even if it is a dps gain, it would be very minor. And we’re still at least 10k behind other dps raid classes when it comes to power builds. +180 power (or 280 in shroud) isn’t going to add that much.

VP was nerfed because it didn’t work with Scourge. Harsh nerf I know but that’s the truth of it. Honestly I don’t mind too much. In WvW roaming, I run Terror and Fear of Death now. Long live Terrormancer, I guess?
Or grant might. Kinda wrecked my power pvp build using plague sig for not only condi transfer but boon corrupt, might generation and healing/lf gain from blighters boon.
Bit of a kick in the teeth for people like I who were DC’d right before collecting the old 40 ticket chest only to find it nerfed and bugged when I could get back on.
The change to Vital Persistence made sense in that it couldn’t be used on Scourge but also because it was an incredibly powerful trait. It was a legit reason for taking an entire traitline, thought annoyingly, anet failed to compensate for said nerf.
Be aware though that you can’t keep up 3 shades indefinitely as they got a 15s CD per charge and 25s duration. With alacrity, you’ll be able to keep up 2 permanently though. If you go for Sand Savant, it is possible as to keep up the equivalent of 3 shades permanently but that loses you the increased torment damage and burning from Demonic Lore.
Really, we cant have all 3 up at the same time… this will be very very disappointing if true :/
I thought the way it worked was you could cast 3 shades before the skill went on cooldown for 15s whilst the shades had a duration of 25s. Therefore you could upkeep 3 easily.
Watch this,
You will die a little inside…
It hurt my soul deeply. Just like the times I’ve used Deathly swarm to clear and it gets obstructed.
So with this update, can I get a refund on the 2nd tier exotic skins I bought?
i’m not a wvw player but i think this is a good idea because it make it easy to get pips but totally doesnt turn wvw into eotm which they interntionally left pips out of because it was already a k train farm zone
i am watching to thee other elite specs again and again and cannot understand why anet dont see by themself, that scourge is trash.
Why?
Well, scourge is at least more entertaining than renegade. I’d be really infuriated if I had high hope for a revenant e-spec and it ended up with, litterally, a Charr e-spec. Can’t use charr skills while being a revenant? guess what? Here it is the e-spec!!! Next is the wonderfull Greatsword turreter sylvarii e-spec!!!! Followed by an unexpected asura golem suit e-spec… Feel the tears… Feel them!!! Not all are filled with joy, most have regret, rage, and disappointment in them.
I don’t really give two kittens about the actual Kalla stance. Only the condi range weapon.
Anyone claiming anything has ripped off Blizzard is by default an idiot. Almost every Blizzard property is a rip off of something else.
If they made Greatsword be equally fast and the same amount of damage like a staff thief then we are already set basically…
See the thing is the base damage of Greatsword’s attacks are almost all better than thief staff. Thief is just faster (as you said) and have more damage modifiers, which is what we need.
(edited by Lahmia.2193)
Basically to make Reaper viable, give it the +damage % traits we need to become an actual source of selfish dps as we were supposed to be.
Soul Eater: remove the life steal on Gravedigger and revert it to the old beta life steal (all attacks when using a Greatsword) and add a straight up damage boost of about 10% to Greatsword skills.
Cold Shoulder: Add a +10% damage vs chilled foes. Why we never had that from the beginning, I do not know.
Deathly Chill: Every time you chill a foe, deal a power scaling amount of damage.
Chilling Scythe – Reduced cast time to 0.75s to make the rest of the auto chain.
Also a few adjustments to baseline traits:
Spiteful Talisman: Increased bonus damage to +10%.
Strength of Undeath: Move to Major second tier trait. Change to you deal +10% damage while in shroud. Shroud skill recharge is decreased by 20%.
Vital Persistence: Move to Minor third tier trait. Change to Max Life force is increased by 15%. Life Force drains 50% slower in shroud.
Have you got a screenshot of one?
“That’s cute” – Weavers probably.
So for those that don’t know, Deathly Chill will be nerfed upon the release of PoF but Reaper will be buffed significantly. So we will basically be getting Scourge as our condi/support spec, and Reaper as our power spec.
So, as a condi Reaper who spent a lot of time/gold getting full ascended Viper stats it’s a big FU…got it.
So glad I didn’t preorder…
Two things you can do
1) Convert your ascended viper gear to power gear
2) Power through high level fractals and/or WvW like a crazy person to get both power and condi gearTrust me when I say your first full ascended set will be your hardest, it gets easier from there.
Edit: I doubt the nerf will make deathly chill useless. The sheer fact that you can use two skills to stack tons of chill, bleed, and poison at once is what makes it so OP.
From the looks of the WP video, its going back to 1 bleed stack.
WP video showed a Deathly Chill that’s identical to what’s currently live. He was in PvP, and the PvP version is only 1 stack.
Ah good point well made. Hopefully thought they either made chill deal direct damage every time you apply it or life stealing.
Bought standard, will probably buy deluxe if the Pass is worthwhile. I like the outfit but have found myself never actually wearing the ones I buy, so we’ll see.

Raids are a tiny fraction of the game. If you can’t see beyond them, then I pity you.
Lol “dead maps”. I played WoW for a few months and never met a single soul whilst leveling in pve.

Well in my opinion it looks way better than dragonhunter and I even think to play Firebrand (There are worse elite spec – look at deadeye and soulbeast, also mirage is a little bit miserable)
What?! Deadeye looks like a beast! And while I’m not too hyped for Soulbeast I can understand why people would be hyped for it because they can finally run petless ranger.
Do you suppose we get to unlock all the mounts if we want, and then choose whichever, like changing out a mini pet?
Yeah, they’re the new masteries, so we should be able to switch almost at will.
PRAISE BE TO OUR LORD AND SAVIOUR, THE BUNNYROO!
What is ya’lls problem… I’m actually looking forwards to getting Scourge on my Necro specifically BECAUSE it’s a defensive support shroud. I’m going to enjoy running a real support necro finally.
support Necro… Even the words don’t mix: support & necromancer
Since when does The Grim Reaper offer life support???? Last time I heard he’s the one who pulls the plug!!!Did you ever play GW1? Support Necro’s were quite common place… There’s a reason why the Blood Spec is largely a support focused spec in GW2. Blood Necro’s in GW1 were largely support. Not only did they have a lot of self-healing skills through life-steal, but they had a lot of skills to buff up their allies, restore ally energy, and even transfer health to allies. Blood Necros were always designed with Support in mind. GW2 Blood Necros had the same design philosophy, but it wasn’t implemented very well. Scourge sounds like it’s going to complement Blood quite nicely and provide a solid support role for Necros again.
Mmm Urgoz/Deep 1hp BiP. That was the life.
Sorry Chris, you interpreted it all wrong. It’s 1 elite spec and Holosmith can use holo weapons as they said in the trailer. As for Deadeye, not sure but a rumour said they were only getting 1 dodge rather than the baseline 2, so it will be all about positioning rather than DD’s evade spam.
What if Balthazar actually has some altruistic goal, and we just do not understand it yet?
In the end humans may love their gods more.
I mean its a possibility but his intentions are pretty clear from the trailer. Kill Kralk, steal its power and become the one true god!
Glad to see its on the to-do list.
QoL idea. Allow us to trade in the (stat type) +x agony infusions for an alternate stat type.
GS has the highest dps (Gravediger makes the difference, Dagger and GS auto attacks are equal). Cleave and survivability is also alot better on GS.
Isn’t that a bit weird? That GS, which hits 3 – 5 foes has higher single target dps than Dagger, which only hits one foe – two with autoattack?
So even if i want the highest single target dps i should take GS over Dagger?
Not really. Dagger has always been a kitten weapon. What I do find odd though is that Greatsword is a meta condi weapon for pve. Anet should have just made dagger our new melee condi weapon (as it always should have been) and then we’d be stuck with 1 power melee weapon – greatsword, 1 condi range weapon – sceptre, and 1 condi melee weapon – dagger.
kitten raids. So long as we’re still meta in wvw and generally useful most other places, I’ll be happy.
Another inconsistency of this fight is the triple orb attack that bounces and leaves puddles. Mesmer feedback and Guardian Shield #5 do not destroy the projectile meanwhile CPC and swirling winds do. I am so confused at the inconsistencies with projectile destruction in this game, and then they add on that even the same type of destruction doesn’t work.
From what I’ve gleaned, the projectiles can only be blocked as they land. So CPC will not block projectiles if they are targeted at someone who is outside of the CPC ring. I can’t speak for other methods, as I have only used necro to block them but its best to get your party to stack around Arkk during this phase.
No, just delete trailblazers.
I’d say dire was worse, given it has increased condition damage and vitality over trailblazers, unless said foe doesn’t know how to cleanse.
My Flesh Golem will be most pleased. By which I mean the most current one I summon.
