Oh okay, that seems a bit more fair. We did end up wiping at 1% when the floor collapse happened at 10% but it seemed doable. Having to suffer all those mechanics for 40% of the fight seems a tad cruel.

Anet’s doing this because people complained that there was no stepping stone to raids. Like nothing prepared you for them in game, so they decided to add first the revamped Swamp, then Nightmare with its CM and now Shattered Observatory with its CM.

Adaptive armour doesn’t reduce condi duration, but rather condi damage.

So hoelbrak runes, mecha legs and food will reduce condi duration by 40% (73% crip/chill/imob).

I was merely pointing out that learning animations has little to do with the complaints people have been making in this context.

Ok long answer then. All that is in one instance and applies 3 conditions in total; chill, bleed, weakness. Even if you take every hit and somehow don’t dodge any of it, you can easily cleanse it.

They should just add a second of resistance to each corruption skill, like they did with guardian’s “Save Yourselves”, so it gives you a small window of no damage from said self inflicted conditions.

I wonder if anet changed it so people could get more pips per tick for fewer people in a squad. Would big zergs almost disappear?
Prolly not because more peeps would be tagging up, but still just running together, right? “Follow the red dot only!”
Maybe limit it again by being in proximity to other players of same server. Those small squads would have to be spread out away from each other to get extra pips, and if joining forces for “X amount of time” the pip production would be decreased back to what it is currently.

I doubt it would to be honest. People thought that the +1 pip for having a 5man squad as a commander would cause there to be an epidemic of people tagging up and small scale groups. That never happened however.

5 years into this game and people still blobfest and gankfest and afraid to roam with less than 5 – 10 people.The people made wvw a bore,not anet.Instead of making smaller groups to have fun fights,roam with less,dont rely on broken mechanics,dont rely on downed state to save your kitten.it could have been fun,but it hardly is lately.

Eh. I’ll take your word on it.

Personally I dislike the entire mechanic for gaining pips as it is. I understand it was just an extension of the participation/reward track system but I wish pips were tied directly to actual actions and accomplishments taken within the game (based on the difficulty of said objective) and not simply to who afks near a camp that’s flipped every 5 minutes.

Threads like this would be entirely avoided if the system in place was simply… more thought out.

I get where you’re coming from but the rewards were designed to be equal for both roamers and zerglings. If pips did stem from active rewards, you can bet WvW would turn into an Eotm Ktrain.

Since we’re talking about issues with monsters in WvW, can the number of Ascalonians by blue keep finally be toned down or made non-aggressive? They ruin fights and escapes anywhere near the keep for defenders by forcing combat early and slowing down responses to attackers.

Either turning all enemies into neutral (yellow) ones or removing them all together would be great.

Eotm is fun and relaxing, i can spend the whole day there without noticing time going on.

By the way it will be good opportunity to get some achievs like bridge buster.

I see lots of vets say things like pvers are ruining the game mode. Or players who only want rewards are ruining wvw. Or players who want less grind for rewards are ruining wvw.

In my opinion it’s players who play it to “relax” that water down the content and the experience.

Sry but i do my homework. I have a guard with WvW build, im in some WvW dedicated guilds.

However come to reality, who keep the WvW alive are the ktrainers. As far as the typical “pros” who claim that no one is a “real wvw” are concerned, WvW would limit guild fights that last for a maximum of 3 hours after the reset and spend the rest of the day locked. Ktrainers and pugmanders is who extend the life of the WvW.

K training in wvw only really happens when one side has the coverage for that timezone and the others do not. Its not a case of two forces run around in circles like in eotm.

I did read your original comment and it seems like you’re just unwilling to take advantage of a system that was deliberately put in place for scouts.

As for giving scouts credit for their activity. How would you go about this? Reward stems from either capping or defending objectives, killing guards, doing damage to structures etc. If a scout does none of these things how else will the game be able to measure their input and differentiate them from people dossing around looking to get easy skirmish rewards? The best way is already in place as I have said.

You’ve asked twice now how scouts could be credited for their activity, but scouts are now and always have been credited for their activity. The only thing that changed with this updated is the decay timer, which governs not how credit is awarded, but the degree of that credit. So the problem the update created is not that there is now no way to credit scouting activity, it is that the credit given is now insufficient to maintain participation . . .

So rather than ask how a scout could be credited, answer why the scout should not be credited. That is the question that needs to be answered to justify this update . . .

And yet you still ignore the already existing Shared Participation. If you’re scouting it means that you’re not in a dead timezone, else there’d be no point and you’d just roam instead. That means chances are there will be a commander online leading, who you can then scout for and gain SP from.

For some servers like SoS, within past few weeks, it looks like they gained massive transfers/numbers. For us in TC going from 2 links to 1 has just about killed the server.

Whereas NSP had their bi-yearly 2 merges and are now racing up to the top.

Eotm was created as a waiting zone for players unable to get into wvw because of queues. As unseen side effect was for it to become a ktrain/leveling area. So I’d say it was working as intended.

They removed rally from creatures lower ranked than vet. Probably code reasons so you could still rally off guard and this is an (un)intended consequence.

Its kinda funny because Hammer Bolt (revenant hammer 1) also has more base damage and better stat scaling.

Get rekt necros xd

It also has a faster attack speed and projectile velocity.

Hammer bolt is superior in every respect to necrotic grasp (apart from lf generation but revenants dont have lf at all hence i wouldnt count that).

And it can hit targets slightly out of range, like SMC 2nd floor cannons, which Necrotic Grasp cannot do.

I must have missed the part where it’s written that you must hit the ticket cap each week. lol

Would be nice if we could all be rewarded fairly for doing the same activities, instead of giving huge advantages to those who played mindlessly for years with no clear objective or gain. Who argue that they play not for rewards but for fun but instantly turn on a dime to defend not giving out said rewards which they don’t care about to others.

Personally I wouldn’t care if ANet added a button that let anyone have any – or every – item in the entire item database, at will, as often as they wanted. I don’t care what stuff other people have and there’s been virtually nothing in the entire game in the five years it’s been running that I’ve wanted (I do like my Magic Carpet and a couple of the hats but that’s pretty much it). If you want it then you can have it as far as I’m concerned. Anet on the other hand seem to want to make money out of the game so they probably have other ideas…

I’m not defending any system that makes it hard for anyone to get what they want – I’m saying WvW is fun without any of that at all. If it isn’t then why bother with it in the first place? Surely having the gear isn’t fun in and of itself?

Honestly though, that type of game would die very fast. Part of the fun in getting awesome skins or gear is the journey of getting them.

Normal WvW players follow commander because they don’t know how to play and builds are copied from metabattle so they don’t need any kind of gaming skills to be effective.

There is no difference between wvw and eotm. Blob vs blob is what wvw has become and all for the pips. Only difference is the ktraining was on 1 map but now is on all maps.

Maybe at the times you play. When I play our commanders often ignore paper objectives (whether they are our own or enemy) in favour of looking for fights.

The player base doesn’t want it to change and Anet doesn’t want it to change. Rewarding dead bodies is never going to happen. It’s very odd that a few posters here think there is some sort of discussion to be had.

Inviting any form of just hitting something to a certain point then afking for full rewards when dead has absolutely no chance of happening. Just entitlement to the fullest when we were given auto loot not too long ago.

I think the phrase you’re looking for is “Anet has given an inch and the OP demands a mile”.

Wut. The whole point of many reward tracks was so that you could get certain pve loot without having to set foot in pve (Anet listened to the many complaints about this). Not sure why you want to go back to the dark ages. But hey, each to their own.

Allowing an auto repeat would be nice. That little sliver of exp at the end of each finished track going into CoE has completed me said track (no idea whereabouts I originally stopped it at).

people play for the rewards(mostly), zerg is just a gimick to stack the aoe spam and reduce the risk.
WvW could be a decent gamemode …. if had lesser aoe/cleave stacking or be more in team work and less in powercreep gimmicks where some offer a low effort gameplay due pve being mandatory on how classes work, the game should be making players need to know what they need to atack beisdes 111111cleave spam aoe skill, back to 111111 cleave spam, but that would be against with the ideal this game was built on.

no wonder the pvp gamemodes already failed… for me it failed on the 1st year when i noticed how crappy ANet would be maintaining the game… sadly it actually happened…

I would not say tat wvw is what nake of if theres alot limitations within this game, that actually forces certain behaviors.

Hah. I love those zerg types because of the way they fill up my inventory. Judging by the lowest common denominator isn’t a great way to go about WvW though.

I think it would be beneficial if commanders had an option to run ‘tagless’. That is to say I want people with commander tags to be able to run around without a pin over their head or on the map. This would allow guild groups to do their thing and practice without attracting unwanted attention.

So why not just make a squad without a tag? People won’t see your group on the map right?

Without a tag, you can’t utilize markers, lieutenants, share squad participation and so on. As it stands right now, guild groups that want to run tagless generally have to designate one person to sit at spawn doing nothing with a tag up. Now where’s the fun in that?

Anyway that’s all I got.

as mentioned above… all you have to do after creating the squad is to drop out of it then rejoin. You then have a squad with no tagged commander. Works like a charm.

Because Anet is against the general idea of people running tagless. But they are nice enough to allow the current version of it. And if people keep pushing for it, Anet are more likely to remove the current one than add a proper tagless squad. So stop it.
