I’ve been doing mm necro with 5 gambits (no cripple) on the quaggan. I tried different classes and builds, but the problem is I can’t do them in my sleep. After 3-4 runs, I need something I can do in my sleep. No timing, no interrupts, just running in circles and spamming skills. I don’t even lose any health. It takes just under 40 seconds. (30 without squeamish, but since most of the time gets eaten up just waiting for your turn, I’ll take the extra 10 sec.)

I don’t think it is bugged. I don’t think this is working out according to plan. I think they are waiting to see how it works out now that people are figuring out how to do Boss Blitz correctly, though I also believe they are surprised by just how dumb/slow most players are. I still see people in Pavilion asking “which one first”. After a week, in two different overflows this morning. Hellooooooo.

(Was looking for shorter gauntlet queues for my daily. Have I mentioned I hate waiting for other people to fight?)

I joined a 50 000 000 000 AP + 10 legendaries party the other day. Was good. I think the person who made it was inspired by a different listing, apparently serious, asking for 20k AP.

I hate ranger sword so much. Rather just play a different class where I don’t have to micro manage my autoattack of all things.

It takes like 10 min once you know it, and you can also get a mesmer portal straight to the end.

How the heck did you get 5000 gauntlet tickets?

I somehow doubt that the people who have opened a thousand of these things or more don’t know about the “gambit trick”.

The only thing that bugged me was fervid censor coming back, but NOT desert rose. I want a cheap desert rose.

Also if you buy it now, you get a superior version with a normal upgrade slot. People with the original have a fractal infusion slot on a rare quality backpiece. Stupid. Thinking about deleting the original and buying this one which costs a mere 400 tokens.

Why can’t she participate in the dolyak race? Dash and leap skills all the way to the end!

I’m afk right now. Waiting for some event, starts in 3 min. You don’t have to be afk, but I find that is what I tend to do. Go afk and read the forums. Do next event, go afk. Come back, etc. It’s the waiting for the event to finish that leads to this I think. It’s like wait five minutes, then come back, do something else for 15? Or just go straight afk for 20…

Found two organized servers yesterday. It was alright. Mostly wanted the gauntlet tickets and it is by far the best way to get those. 20 silver for 5 is ridiculous considering it is typical to open a thousand chances and not get kitten.

This was really hard for me last year when I only had ranger, this year I can kill them all with like 1:30 left on the clock just spamming attack skills with minion master necro.

First nonconstructive comment: I used the year in between to level a couple more characters to 80. This paid off in a massive way when it comes to the gauntlet. Without my necro and thief, I’m not sure I would have finally made it to the end. I also had a guardian waiting in the wings, and warrior. Lots of fights are easier for certain classes. Something to think about for next year.

Ele is one class I didn’t level (and wouldn’t have brought in to the gauntlet even if I had), so no profession specific advice. The person who said kill Stitches last is dead on. Kill her last. Her special ability is “healing” but it’s nothing compared to the constant regen they all get when she dies. Second to last is the annoying first mate, for his evade skill. He dodges half your attacks, and after you kill him all remaining will also dodge half your attacks. (At least that’s how it feels to me.) The other two, I don’t think it matters. I kill the Captain first because I think he does more damage.

Did you try setting your traits to give more healing, damage, toughness, whatever it is you’re missing? I understand if that’s a tough question. Last year I finally beat them when the announcer was doing her obnoxious countdown, after being downed at least once, so I had damage dealing and damage taking issues. It’s probably going to come down to your traits.

I just tried three different ones and they were all empty. The Spanish one was sort of trying but they didn’t have the people.

I’m loving Boss Blitz now, specially as a lot of the players know the techniques of getting gold, and any new players get told pretty quickly on what to do, where to go etc.

Dressing lady norns is tough, mine is medium armor though so can’t offer any tips for light. She looks dumpy in most things though, you are not alone. Even legendary gs makes her butt look big (by clipping in to it).

I had 431 tickets saved from last year and can’t imagine how annoying and stressful it would have been to try for my missing achievements without them. Down to ~200 now, and would really like a better way to get more. I did get one from the dolyak run once, a few from the boxes (cleaned all the useless gossamer out of my storage), and some from Boss Blitz before people gave up on it. They dropped like crazy last year though, from everything everywhere which is why I had so many.

Relatively easy with staff, yes. Can also send minions after him, like every other boss in the gauntlet he will ignore them so they survive better than you might expect.

My necro is parked in the pavilion for the daily boss chests, most of the fights can be facerolled with a minion build.

I am waiting until the event is almost over. Why? Cause last year I blew all my fortune scraps on the best option in the second week… And then they added more stuff for the second half that I really wanted but could no longer afford.

If nothing better comes along, I’m torn between collecting as many colors/weights of those zephyrite helms as possible, or buying T6 mat bags. Already got the panda which was the only thing I really wanted.

The recipe supposedly drops from the gauntlet chances, but some people have opened thousands of them and not seen it.

I wasn’t having trouble with it until today. Get major skill lag doing the dolyak race and overshoot often… Yes, overshooting on the ones where you don’t even have to aim, just stand on the pad and go.

I know this is just a typical whining thread but, with an organized group, this is laughably good farming.

15-20 tickets, 80 tokens, 10 champ bags, all under like 15 minutes. And repeateable too. Good stuff.

That’s good, at least if some groups are doing it the favor of the pavilion will keep dropping and be affordable.

I tried popping in to the pavilion, didn’t see any change, so I went back to the Bazaar where rewards are more consistent. Yeah, 80-90 tokens an hour isn’t much, but it is still better than the pavilion where you might not (probably won’t) even get that. And you can do other things while waiting for events to start. 15 min is just about right for a pug dungeon run, or you can do something outside of the game. Boss blitz just takes way too long if you dont get a good instance (ie every instance I have been in).

I’ll keep checking every day until I run out of gauntlet tickets (do easy bosses for daily chests), something that will happen sooner than expected due to the only “free” source of these tickets being the Boss Blitz.

For High Stakes Gambler I used my thief with sword/pistol on Deadeye Dunwell and pretty much spammed pistol whip. At the start I’d use steal to teleport to him, let him attack me first and then pistol whip to interrupt. After the first interrupt I used Thieves Guild and continued to spam pistol whip. If he teleported away I’d shadowstep to him or if he was charging up his shot I’d use Scorpion Wire to interrupt and pull him back.

Thanks for this, had to play around with traits a bit but got it on the 4th try. Ended up with 4/6/4/0/0 with the invigorating precision trait an absolute must. Also used leeching venoms and other venom traits, with skills scorpion wire, skale venom (triggered first time just after the “your turn” message), and infiltrator’s signet for the shadow step. Went beautifully, felt like a completely unfair fight. Got 5 Gambit and Humble Victor out of it.

Now I just need 8 orb and meatless murder… aaaah maybe next year.

Subject 7 is definitely different this year, I followed a guide from last year to get Humble Victor/Five Gambits and it just doesn’t work. Even with more dps gear than the person who made the guide, I cannot outdamage his healing once he gets low. There are more oozes, and they now all clump around the boss instead of spreading out. I tried to make them spread out (fear) and they don’t move far enough away.

The oozes are also literally unkillable, I don’t know if that was the same last year though. I “killed” two of them only to have two more spawn at full health in exactly the same spots before the dead ones had even started to fade.

They also changed it so you don’t get the pavillon reward chest while standing around upstairs doing the gauntlet. I killed the 2nd to last boss, got gold, went upstairs because i was bored with banging away on upscaled bosses and then 30 min (? I killed 9/12 in this time and had to wait for others to fight as well) later when the final boss finally died I didn’t get a chest. A travesty. Yesterday I got the bronze chest without participating at all (came in and went straight upstairs) which is also not fair, but encouraging everyone to stack on that last boss is not the best idea.

I don’t mind it, and will keep trying to win the lotto until I run out of tickets. Not spending anything on tickets, but the ones that drop, I will use. Farm easy bosses for tokens every day, buy skins, open chances. I see lots of other people farming too.

The problem is that the bosses are HP sponges and some of them have really annoying mechanics.

The Pirate? Fine, l2dodge
The Bandit? Ditto
The Destroyer? Accept that you’re gonna get downed
The Flame Legion? Accept taht you’re gonna die.
The Ogre? Hope you equipped the right weapon and aren’t using runes of fire, or you’re gonna be standing around a lot.
The centaur? Everyone loves bosses that run away and huge invulnerable chain knockdowns coming through.

I killed ogre with a handful of other people yesterday (we had been farming the ogresfor the achievement when he popped), used minions plus axe 1 + 2, ignored the birds, took zero damage unless I fell asleep and got hit by aoe. He doesn’t seem to attack other than the aoe, so the minions barely took damage being right on top of him.

Have seen a few failed attempts to organize, never seen better than bronze and I’ve spent a lot of time in the area doing gauntlet.

Now, what other rewards are people getting? I’m debating on the fused gauntlets, thing is it would be a no brainer if you could unlock for every weight with one purchase, but you can’t. Same with those helms, but at least the helms are relatively cheap. Half as many tokens and no laurels.

So I actually kind of am leaning towards both, just cause the other rewards are ehhhhh.

The nets seem to be for the benefit of the baby dolyaks, but I was happy to see them too. Just getting to the top should not be a great palm-sweating challenge for the less coordinated out there.

I saw a video of this back piece which seemed to show that it has legendary footfalls. Is that true? If so, the drop rate is certainly not bugged and is functioning as intended… other than, of course, all the people waiting to open their bags because they think it might be bugged. Myself included.

The orientation of the Shadowfall’s and Cosmic Rift’s to you and themselves have a set of variables. I’m also not thrilled with the poor visual representation of the Shadowfall boundaries and Vision of Mortality hit range. I’ve lost several times due to moving in whats visually in the clear and yet being hit by both. If anything, the visual representation should span beyond the attack radius, not less than it. Whether it’s lag or not, it’s pretty poor.

I died to this a lot, and see people dying to it all the time while waiting. It looks like you are far enough, but you’re not. I finally just started dodging through the shadowfall, needs exact timing but luckily for me is the same as dodging alpha’s aoe in coe so I had lots of practice. Without this I never would have beat her, soooo many times it looked like I was out but the little evade text would pop up, showing that if I’d dodged just a little sooner I’d have died again.

you have an account vault with collectibles bank and wardrobe
wardrobe is the only one now that you can activate these items without running to your vault.. soo, basically you’re saying if it was a panda or a tonic or a shirt.. you would have went with the shirt? it’d be nice to have a mini specific inventory, but the most they’ve done is prevent minis from jumping into collectibles storage when using the ‘deposit collectibles’

I’d absolutely go with the shirt, if that was a choice. Unless it was one of those “tonic shirts”. I like minis, but I love clothes.

I saw the recipe on the trading post for 1000g. Was gone before I could blink.

I have been doing what I didn’t do last year, and will keep doing the easy bosses every day until I have all the festival tickets I need/want or until the event ends. Kind of surprised what a faceroll it is this year, last year it was soooo hard. This year all tier 1 and 2 bosses are ridiculously easy for me, they just drop dead with no effort. Bad rewards? I guess. Don’t do it then, the lines to fight are long enough without you.

I have no idea, this is where I got stuck last year. This year I just focused Strugar, then killed the dog. No plans to try for the achievement here.

Kinda, yeah. I don’t really use either, and am going for the panda. But if tonics had storage and pets didn’t, I’d probably go for the tonic. Now that you mention it.

I love this event, but I would like it if we were able to run again. Currently logged in and we always get gold for the charged essence event (each person can use as many nodes as they can find) with several minutes left on the clock, and silver for the dolyaks because everyone can only go once.

The blobs seem to be different than last year. Banged my head against this one for a few hours yesterday, trying to do it exactly like in a video from last year, no joy. But I notice in the video the blobs spawn differently than they do for me. Avoiding to dulfy’s guide they spawn around the player and minions (and I can see this in last year’s video), but for me they cluster around the big ooze no matter where I stand and whether I have minions or not.

I’m having problems with targeting her. Seems like the champ auto target doesn’t work here, hitting tab usually just gives another clone. I usually die immediately after finishing the orb phase, while banging tab and trying to figure out where she is. If I do manage it I lose target as soon as I dodge… Which… omg seriously.

Someone said the clones move slower. I didn’t do it last time but find them too slow now. Trying to get them into the light pools when they move so slowly means taking more damage from her auto attack while you wait. And then trying to get the extras away from the crystal after it drops… arrrrrrrhgh.

Did I mention I hate waiting to fight?

I’m crossing my fingers for an ascended materials merchant. Love to trade in a couple dozen stacks of ascended mats for fortunes or anything really.

You just have to buy whatever you don’t get from the clovers. The part of making a legendary that I like least, yes, even more than the problem of getting a precursor. You can buy them with gold or laurels, but either way you are buying them. I had stacks and stacks of T5, promoting in the forge worked out to be less effective than just selling the T5 and using the profit to buy T6.

From keys I got as drops, from map completion, and personal story (for my regular chars, no dedicated key farming), I’ve gotten 1.7 tickets. Quite a lot considering drop rate and complete lack of trying, but still very far from the 5 tickets needed for a single old skin.

It only costs ~662g for everything to make it right now, still way cheaper than a legendary.

Mounts are useful only for 1 thing: traveling quickly.

We have way points, so we don’t needs mounts. Travel is cheap, and though they do add up, making a gold isn’t very hard at all. (The equivalent of 40-50 or so waypoints).

There is always room for improvement. Never played a game with mounts but I’m in favor of anything that makes my chars move faster. Not a coincidence that my favorite characters to play are the ones with the best mobility. If that were removed from consideration, I’d have a lot more fun with the other, slow-as-heck classes. (Mesmer I’m looking at you.)

I skip skill challenges if i already did them, but if i happen upon a fight going down in open world, I’m going to try to tag everything involved. Nothing personal, i just like loot. <3

Please no. This was the worst thing in gw1, and that was with a maximum of one party on a map.

Why do you need gold and ascended items if you mostly do pvp? Ascended armor doesnt give any pvp advantage. All pvp gear costs the same amount (free) and has the same armor rating.

I’ve been working on a new character in the new system and find it overall good. I like exploring and getting a little extra reward for doing things like map completion. Extra motivation to do the personal story isn’t so bad either. But this is a forum so I do have some complaints.

1. Buggy events
This is the one big problem that can’t be blown off as just my opinion. Two of the traits are locked behind events that are (were?) broken. Did recruit the hylek in EB, got nothing. No event reward/karma, no trait. Tried to do the Devourer Queen, this quest chain is stuck/broken and has been as long as I can remember. Every time I’ve wandered through the map I’ve noticed the Defend the Devourer event that never does anything or goes anywhere.

2. The new trait interface
I liked the old interface a lot more, where you could hover over the space you wanted to fill and see everything that was available. Now you have to dig around a lot more to find things, lots more mouse movement, more clicking, more hovering, more time-consuming, just way less intuitive and convenient. It’s also not really comfortable searching around for traits that still need to be unlocked, click on each section, and hover over every single spyglass, looking for that one trait that you seem to remember being on this map somewhere. There are also separate popups for what the trait is and where to find it, which I find annoying. Too much hovering! I’d rather have the info just there, so I can quickly scan through and find what I’m looking for.

3. Too much map completion
Yes, I said I like map completion and I do, but 10/60 is a lot.

4. Still waiting for my server to get the blue castle so I can kill that grub. Don’t know how much longer I’m going to have to wait.
