Ok, then next time you faceroll it invite me along. Not saying its impossible, I’m saying I tried for five hours and couldnt find 4 other people able and willing to get past the very first area. It was the same with swamp fractal at low levels during fractured. People give up after a few tries and you have to start over again with a new batch of people who have never tried it before.
Finally finished master of arah and got around to trying this. Um, it is kittening awful. Like tafu awful. Why aren’t there more threads complaining about it? Then at least I could hope it could eventually be replaced with something a little more manageable like tafu was. Why so many threads about arah when this is way worse?
Tried asking in guild, everyone flat out refused except for one person who didn’t know what it was like. They will do arah but not this. Lfg is the same, only curious people will sign up and very quickly either leave or start yelling/swearing and then leave. Have yet to make it past the torches. Pleeeeeeease tell me that the tiny percentage of people who complained about the removal of tafu didn’t make anet scrap the plan of “fixing” other unpopular paths, cause I don’t know how else I’m going to get this done.
A very bad situation? Are you sure you didn’t mean to say a typical situation? I tried it out, traited up and even if it follows me it is very very difficult to use the heal. Get to choose between dodging out of the heal field or eating a hit. The lack of condition removal is the real problem though. For running around alone it’s just really bad. In a group healing spring is still better for the water field and again condition removal.

Yeah. I’m happy I went against my usual pattern of sell all containers on patch day, and actually went so far as to buy more of them off the tp just so I could open them… Not for the quartz, just cause. Got 22 charged quartz plus both recipes and a bell (which I stupidly sold for way less than I should have but whatev). I didn’t use it to level but was (very) disappointed when I read the patch notes, would like way more quartz for leveling/equipping alts with celestial (yeah okay I know it’s bad but I love the idea of it so much anyway and think it would be fun to play with and now I can’t test it out basically for free. )
Really? The whole selling thing is kind of bad. I needed two more paths so after watching the lfg for bit I nervously joined a group for p1. It was a guild group with two empty spots, the other guy logged out when we got to lupi, after the fight was explained but before we’d even tried it, and they brought another guildie to replace him. We took out lupi in one try and moved on, finished the dungeon. I was pretty sure I wasn’t going to be kicked to sell the spot because we had been chatting and they were nice, and they didn’t. But I shouldn’t even have to worry about that.
I find it quite extraordinary someone would bother collecting mini pets, let alone grinding to spend 100’s of gold on acquiring them. At least with collecting dyes, another endless cosmetic pursuit, you can use them, while minis do nothing!
I thought that too, but I had a bunch of gold and didn’t really want anything else. Plus I can always just sell them if I decide I don’t want them anymore, unlike dyes.
Ranger because it’s fun. Great survivability even with zerk gear. Cute pet.
I have 4 classes at 80 now and really only play the Ranger. Necro isn’t as good at tagging mobs, I die pretty much instantly when I try to play warrior, waiting for crafting update to gear Guardian, but not too hopeful that she will replace Ranger as main due to the annoyance of having to use a staff and make a symbol on cooldown to go fast. Ranger is the best casual class by far, which is why so many people complain about bad Rangers, and so many people play Ranger anyway.
I can’t remember what dungeon it was (coe?) but I joined a group with the ad text “persistance required”. They were much better than I was expecting tbh. Need this one too, but I’m in eu so we can’t help each other.
I remembef doing a lowbie story run of ac… went fine until troll. Had to bring my 80 in to solo the stupid thing, though that may have been a class issue more than a level issue. (My lowbie was necro and couldn’t dodge enough to stay alive while in attack range. )
Morgan’s spiral, cause it’s where I park all my level 80 alts. Had them at one in Lion s arch, but it can take awhile to load on busy days, and the cave was not as nice as the top of morgan’s spiral.
There will always be something to spend gems on. Just wait a month and there will be new items. Don’t want them, wait another month.
I’ve been playing a year and never bought gems. (Done some gold to gems. 4 gathering tools, 2 bank slots, salvage kit, quaggan mini pack cause omg quaggan minis.) Still haven’t bought any. This might be the carrot that finally works on me, but only because I’ve been eyeing those character slots for awhile now and this would seem to be the most sensible time to buy the gems for them. Different sales for different people.
I kind of want to just try doing it but there aren’t really any groups in lfg that aren’t selling spots. I even saw someone trying to sell spots for story for 1g, which I know from personal experience is super easy. I watched for awhile and saw lots of sellers and no real groups.

You don’t have to spend all the gems in Dec. I’m probably gonna buy them in Dec to get the mini, and then try to save them until the next sale on character slots. Whenever that is. The gems don’t expire or anything, they just sit in your account until you are ready to spend them.
If the issue is not having an extra 25 bucks cause of Xmas, I feel you. Ask for a gem card as a gift maybe?
Since the big sale, the exotic minis have gone up again in price and are now higher than before. I got oakheart for 37g and now that buy order would not even show up in the list. If anyone missed it, just wait for the next chance. I blew the one before this (Dragon bash) and didn’t realize they’d been there for the taking until it was all over. Something will come up to get them to drop again, after most people have taken their orders down to reclaim their gold.
I want bank tabs but with gold to gem exchange rate I probably won’t buy any this time. I’m nervous about buying gems mainly because i had problems with my credit card trying to buy guild wars 1 from the official site (summary: they flat out refused to accept it and i had to buy it somewhere else) and just don’t want to deal with it and maybe getting my account banned for “fraud”.
Thanks to the big sale on keys yesterday, my lowish buy orders were all filled and I completed my collection (well mostly, still missing jackalop) and got my mini collector title. THANKS GNASHBLADE.

I have almost 1 million karma again now however long after the big nerf. I haven’t been saving it either, crafting with obsidian shards every day, ascended recipes…
I don’t play spvp at all. I went in once for hint completion and that was about it, never did a match. I recently checked the old account rewards page with the medals and noticed the pvp icon was lit up. It has a partially filled progress bar and 506 points. How? Why? The 6 points I’ve had for awhile (from hint completion?) Does anyone know where all the points came from? Is it a bug? When I check rank in game it still says I have 6 points, and not 506 points.
Solo it seemed easier on “explo” mode the second time and all other times that followed, but maybe it was just knowing what to expect.
OP is bow ranger and having trouble? O.o Bow ranger is great, can hang out right on the edge of the room and avoid all AoE. The hybrid will chase you but it moves incredibly slowly and most everything else will go for the pet. I have mostly zerk gear (with two settlers rings). Almost died once the first time I tried it, since then it’s been clear sailing.
I also did it in a group once, just for the heck of it when I got a random invite. It didn’t seem easier or harder. Pretty much the same.
I really like this update tbh. Solo content is my favourite and I’ve done the chambers enough to run into diminishing returns on some of them with like 11 karma rewarded from quests. It seems random so I can’t pick a version I haven’t done so many times to avoid this. The only part I don’t like is the difficulty in getting through level 3 alone with all the CC, constant tox damage, etc. And I got a mini from the chest. The best drop I’ve ever gotten in the game, and it looks so cool too.
This is just the DL general population really caring about wvw. 30 man night crew? Not typical. We had a long losing streak before leagues, suddenly there are achievements, our maps are full, and we are winning every match. But RoS is coming and they are also winning every match, and are reportedly just better. People were concerned. So this happened.
Match isn’t over yet, but I don’t think RoS can bring the kinds of numbers DL can. And it is about numbers.
Just need to kill 30ish more of the big ones to get my key. Nice idea to introduce this twist halfway through to get those who otherwise wouldn’t have bothered in right when other people might be losing interest.
Posting from a tablet because every time I try to log in on my computer I enter email and password and am taken to a completely empty page. No error message, just nothing. I tried waiting but it’s been a week and I still can’t log in. I know my password because I just used it to log in on the tablet, my account hasn’t been disabled, I’ve turned the computer off and on many times, etc. I can log in to Gmail and other websites no problem. I can log in to the game. It’s only this website and this computer. It is a “new” computer (hand me down), and still has tons of mystery junk installed on it..
Don’t see how this is possible when the recipes alone cost 7g+each. Yeah, looked into it yesterday when I finally got around to unlocking the merchant. The cost to buy from her or the tp is about the same.
Congratulations to Drakkar for winning this week. Can we move on now instead of being trapped in this? Or could you at least do the favor and park your blobs outside of the spawns so we don’t have to move to get some fights?

I’m not crazy about it. When I started the intro instance I thought it was neat, but after the 20th time I was over it. It just takes so long to stake them. This is sensible in PvP to give the downed person a chance to interrupt it, but here it’s just… oh man, GET ON WITH IT ALREADY.
Also not fond of how fast they recover their health when they use the bandage skill. You have to rush over and stake them as soon as they go down, which was a real pain when I’d be fighting a group of them and I’d have to stop to sloooooooowly wiiiiiiiiind up my staaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaake and then go back to fighting the rest…. oops another one down loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong staaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaake tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiime and back to the fig- STAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE. Honestly I kind of hate it and hope it doesn’t become typical for monsters.
Ha, today our map looks like it did for the two months before leagues, except the difference is we have everything intead of nothing. The pool of servers for fair matches really is quite small.
There is such a thing as too much winning… though my fellow fighters don’t seem to agree. Tried to join EB to get to the JP at 10am, and there was a queue. O_O I have never seen a queue that early before, certainly not last week when the matchup was reasonable.
At 11/15 and only have 10 Keeps, 5 Castles, and the really grindy ones left. I’m glad I did as much as I did last week, because this week we are dominating so hard I feel like a bully just entering the map.
Not directly related to the final winners, but looking at the scores it’s really interesting how many of the 2nd and 3rd places have switched in the last day. Our group was set all week, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and then just today 2nd (RoF) and 3rd (Dzago) swapped places. 2nd and 3rd were not particularly close at this time yesterday, not sure how exactly Dzago made up the difference. Did the entire server pull an all-nighter?
Just try it again when matched against different servers, or when your server gets the blue map. (Gandara is blue Round 5 11/15 thru 11/22.) I’ve done 3/4, haven’t even tried the fourth one because I know there’s a high chance this week that someone’ll be waiting there to gank anyone going through. Not my bag.
Will take the advice to try doing Stonemist on reset day. Maybe the queue gods will smile upon me. Cause this week is the most balanced matchup possible. Most balanced. And the waypoint in Stonemist is half done. If it’s not changing hands now, it’s not going to happen later. #League winner problems
The mercenary one is nuts. Got to laugh at the guy saying other people will come and finish the event. Yeah, they will. These people are red and come from other servers. We have people from both opposing servers camping out in those camps and waiting for the events to spawn. The only chance to get it is to come with your own team and wipe the campers and then hang out doing nothing yourself waiting for the event to spawn, which, as the reason we are winning is NOT a tendency towards doing useless crap like camping the mercenary camps, is not particularly popular.
Ex. My guild has a 60 day period where all potential members are introduced into the guild and are evaluated based on helpfulness, respect towards other members and such. We are 18+ and look for people who we want to game with for years to come, not months. We have strict rules, break them once you get counseled , after that g-kicked. We run a very structured system that doesn’t let the riff-raff in.
Wow, that sounds really fun. Everyone likes rules! The stricter the better! I know this post is really old, but it sums up one half of why I usually prefer to play alone. It seems like every guild is either like this, or just a fooling around guild. You get some that are a bit of both, so they have some rules but you still never get anything done.
The huge focus on voice chat in guilds is an issue for me too. I hate being in TS or Mumble. It’s really distracting. I’m just not good at listening. I can focus for hours on things that are written down. But listening? I’m bad. It’s hard work. I always want the TV louder than everyone else because it’s easier to focus on. People have to repeat themselves a lot for me. My hearing is fine for anything else, it’s just… the spoken word. Plus I’m usually hanging out with my boyfriend when I play, so what is more asocial: sitting in TS and ignoring the person who is right there, or avoiding TS like the plague.
I can easily believe 5 zerkers could stunlock him and take him out in 5 seconds. The hard part is just getting him into the goo because he likes to use a range attack for a bit, making this hard to complete solo.
Did you try, uh, going slower? I got the achievement with a group of random people found in map chat. We didn’t kill him in 5 seconds.
Use map chat more if you want to reach/harness the power of the achievement-hungry pve-ers. On my server the mapchat is basically just the ts info posted over and over and complaints about how not enough people are using it. If people don’t want to go in TS, they aren’t going to go in TS.
I imagine it doesn’t help that it seems like the majority of guilds on my server have a TS requirement, meaning you have to be in the guild TS if you are playing the game or they will kick you from the guild. Not sure what kind of exception they all make for WvW, not sure if this is the same on other servers.

I’m skeptical about RoS. They have the highest number now, but they are also going against two definitely-still-tier-2 servers. We’ll have to see how they do against the top 3.

Fortunately for me, Liadri destroyed most of my enthusiasm for minis, and the mini clockwork thingie killed what was left. I will take them if they are easy and/or fun to get (like my sweet friend) but no longer feel driven to get them. I won’t grind for them or do other things I don’t really like doing much, and don’t feel deprived by not having them.
You should get the Borderlands one as soon as you open the chest. I did it twice already.
Defeating the ogres doesn’t progress it, you have to help them by killing the harpies before one of the other servers does it. Same with the other two mercenary groups. Help them to bring them to your side, just killing them to remove their support to another team won’t do it.
Thief: The amount of stealth is simply not enough. Thief should have longer duration and shorter cool down stealth so that more of us could pretend we have above rubbish skill level
o/ and along the same lines I could really use longer stealth on Longbow 3 for my Ranger. Also make it unblockable ty.
I used to want better damage for mainhand axe but I switched to longbow so whatever.
AoE damage for pets… I don’t even care any more. I just made a warrior and do all the “hard” PvE stuff with her now.
So I will take longer stealth.
Guardian: PERMA SPEEDBOOST 25%
Warrior: Will never happen because it’s obviously this way on purpose as a deliberate handicap, but being able to move around while doing GS 2 is the only thing I can really think of.
My problem is that I do all jp on ranger, necro, warrior, or elementalist. I also have a guardian who I never do jp with… because of the lack of permaspeed. With the jp in the pvp format, I lose my permaspeed, lose all the muscle memory that lets me farm through the other jp in the game on any race. The animations might be different, but every race jumps the same. Suddenly here it’s different and I generally die before I even get to the first gear.
I’d be more upset about it if there was anything at the end that I actually wanted.
Kind of annoyed, because my server has been getting the stuffing knocked out of it for two months running, and then now, suddenly, immediately before we are getting locked into leagues, we get matched against two much weaker servers and now, IN 12 HOURS, have gone up two ranks into the next highest league. Which will destroy us, as they have been destroying us for the last two months as previously mentioned. Looks like I will be coughing up the gold for a server transfer after all.
