I don’t know about the vanilla card but I have occasionally gone to my local grocery store and bought a $25 or $50 mastercard gift card and used it and it worked just fine in the gem store.

Just a couple of additions if you are ocd and want to get the maximum speed.

Most classes get only one or no headpiece and shoulder piece. And the one they do receive has no extra stats or upgrade slot. With transmutation splitters you can now get around this. If you have an account where new toons get the golem banker then use a unversal “skin” such as the halloween mask or clockwork mantle skin on a piece of armor from the trading post. Then use a transmutation splitter to receive back a level 0 armor piece in place of the original skin with a level 0 req and higher stats than the starter armor and with an upgrade slot to boot. This also works with a backpack skin (although it will have 0 stats, it will have an upgrade slot that can take an adorned jewel – if you are really really compulsive about getting every single stat point you can)

And, frankly, it doesn’t matter which class you choose or which weapons. The last two missions of the commoner human story line have npcs to help you and for anything before that you are pretty much overpowered if you have all your upgrade slots filled.

on a hill almost directly west of the tower of nightmares. Look for an NPC name Marjorie’s helper Dee with an icon that looks like a piece of paper over her head.

I think you are trying to sell the rare toxic nimros krait. It is the toxic hybrid krait that is tradable.

Correct – only the one from the big chest opened with tri-color keys can be sold

I really hope there is something more to come because not only was the fight way to easy, it didn’t even make sense. The bloody prince is supposed to be evil and dangerous but all he did after he got out was have some childish spats with his dad. We slam him back in a coffin for having adolescent angst? Where is the point?

Just to repeat what has been said – Melee!

We had a group of five people, none had ever finished before. 1 had been to the boss but not finished. We did wipe twice but on the third try we went in with lots of melee damage. He never even had time to get his shield up. I think we killed him in about 5 minutes.

The rest of the dungeon was much more difficult but now that we know how it is done I think it would be fairly decent.

You can, of course, pass the orb from one toon to another in your bank. but if you want one for your charr you can also go to Scornheart in the NW of LA and get a portal stone for free.

Did you actually complete the transmutation or did it just look like it would lose the upgrade in the preview window?

When you transmute the skin of a common/non-upgradable item onto another item that can have an upgrade, the selection for the upgrade will not appear. However, if you complete the transmutation, the upgrade from the higher level item will be present in the finished product.

I don’t think they look too bad. A little too elaborate. I like pieces of them very much. Probably mix and match them with parts of other sets.

If you talk to the vendor with a ticket in the inventory of your character he will give you an option to see the skins. But it has to be in your pack, not your bank.

So I have a question

Let’s say that someone did buy MF gear and not equip it. Maybe they had just bought it when they saw the announcement that MF was being removed from the game. So they have a set of non-bound MF. Now, this is the gear that would have become “account bound” according to Josh (though it looks like it is bugged and is being soul-bound according to some reports I see). So how is this of any freaking benefit to the player? This was armor that the player bought, didn’t use and now can’t sell. This is minimal disruption?

Thankfully I had no intention for my mf gear other than to salvage it and I had not mf ascended trinkets. But for those who did, yeah this really stinks and is no way to treat your players. Between this and the crap pulled with making new fused skins sellable while leaving old ones account bound (without account bound designation) I got to say there is some pretty nasty Quality Control going on at ANet and a decided lack of dedication and response to customers. This along with no other dragons on the horizon, a seemingly random “living story” and major developers leaving Anet, I really don’t see this game lasting anywhere near the seven years GW1 did. Good game gone really wrong.

looks like any skins that used a special ticked are gone. You can’t get fused, winter or scelerite except with black lions tickets now.

So their solution to people selling old skins was to remove the ability to use the old tickets? this stinks as I still have a jade ticket I had not turned in while i was trying to decide what I want.

Yeah, I got to say that, while I enjoy the invasions, the dungeon and the way they balanced huge world participation with overflows and avoided the southsun cove world event disaster, I am left very empty when it comes to the story line.

Through all the living story the question has been, "who is doing this and why?’

Now we know who but there is no “why”. Did Scarlet get hold of some bad miracle grow? Does she resent humans for mowing their lawns? Why exactly is she planting bombs, hiring pirates and cooking noblemen? She seems to have less motivation than a bond villain – and, goodness knows, they are hardly the most 3 dimensional characters in literature.

At least with the dragons there is the sense they are primeval forces – but with Scarlet there is nothing at all

Please, give us a bit of depth – give us some hint – what is the motivation in her tiny green heart that makes her want to destroy us?

No but it would give people the option to use their black lion tickets for ANY skin from any previous event and even out the prices on the TP. If, for instance, you don’t like the zodiac skins, you could decide on fused or wintersday instead. also you could get a duplicate of a skin you have and use the work around to stack them and make them sellable – thus fixing the problem of unsellable skins.

Also would benefit ANet as it would be further boost to sales of BL keys.

And the sooner they did it the sooner they would put a stop to people using the workaround for huge amounts of money.

I agree. This is a really really lousy way to treat people. Either make them all tradable or make none of them tradable.

If you were not going to make the change for everyone then the change should not have been made at all — really really stupid move and just plain mean in my opinion!!!

I like the GW2 better – especially in a dimly lit area – the contrasts really show up there nicely.

Ok, since you have an odd number I’m guessing you got the bug where opening one chest in Queensdale makes the other chest “open” as well. I don’t know if they ever fixed that…?

So I think you are going to have to go to wiki and find 3 zones you have not yet been in (at 72 you should be able to handle most of them just fine) and open the balloons there.

OK, well this is the cheesy way but it works. I used consumable buffs, the ogre pet whistle from Iron Marches and the fire elemental dust from Fireheart Rise. So, being a ranger, I had 3 “pets.” We attacked Strugar and took him down fast and then I made sure to dodge Chomper from range. I know, I know, it was a sleazy way of winning – but it worked.

I believe the fractal relics were replaced with a pile of crystalline dust in all the forge recipes when the wallet was released

give medium males something that is NOT as trench coat. I am getting so sick of trench coats. Don’t any of the game designers have any imagination at all or do they just have a template and stick some decoration on the same stupid trench coat every time they make “new” armor?

Please hire some new designers and give us a shirt, a jacket, a vest or ANYTHING that is NOT a trench coat!

Just go ahead and double click them and use them. the preview acts as heavy armor but when you actually use them they will apply to any armor.

If you want to preview them with medium armor go to the mists and preview from the locker.

Nevertheless, they will work with any gloves.

Maybe we need to start submitting an in-game bug report every time we play him until they fix the bugs

first of all, obviously the fix did not work as his sig move carries over from one match to the next. Secondly, I do not think any of the developers actually played this or such an obviously bad bug would not have made it into the game. thirdly this particular opponent is just very badly designed leading me to believe, once again, that no one actually tried this before it was released.

Here is the problem I am having

Irongut gets to use his critique skill multiple times while the player only gets to use it once – OK i can deal with that

But he seems to be using belch too often too. A number of times I have counted only two rounds between belch for him instead of three. It’s like having 2 repeatable sig skills for the NPC

Oh, and he still uses critique without the icon showing – especially at the start of the match. I think that carries over from the previous match.

i don’t mind them removing food buffs against other players but if they can’t get their own game to stop cheating then they at least need to let us use something against the npcs.

I would agree with the OP if it were not for the fact Irongut cheats by stacking his skill and using it when the icon is not displayed.

If the game is going to cheat we need a bit of an edge.

I don’t know if it is a bug or intended (since people were complaining about the original animation) but it does look weird.

Yeah, it would sure be nice if it were account bound. I just wish I had known about the transmutation issue before I tried it. Gonna try transmuting from my bank and, if that doesn’t work, I guess one of my alts is getting a quaggan backpack.

I don’t think you can transmute from the bank.

You will need to have the shattered wings in the inventory of the toon that originally applied them along with the straps from the quaggan backpack (if you have already applied the quaggan to the strap you can transmute over it) and then use a trans stone/crystal to combine them. At that point it will become account bound.

Just a couple comments

Firstly, for all skins and transmutations, if you put a skin or transmute a skin to an item that say “soulbound on use” the resulting item will be soulbound to that character. If the item does not say that, then the resulting item will be account bound.

Secondly, the wings are a back item. I believe the only back items not soulbound on use are the straps that come in a backpack cover set such as the quaggan or char back pack. So to transfer the wings to another toon you will have to buy a backpack set either from the gem store for 300 gems or from the TP for6-9 gold. Be SURE to get a backpack SET, not cover as the cover does not contain the unbound strap.

BACK ITEMS SHOULD BE ACCOUNT BOUND BECAUSE WE CANNOT TRANSMUTE THEM TO WHITE/BLUE TO MAKE THEM THAT WAY. This makes limited time skins like these wings a huge gamble, especially when they do no display properly

Actually, you can transmute them to make them account bound. the various quaggan and charr back covers come with a white non-attribute brace. I believe you can buy some at the TP if you don’t want to give more gems to ANet. Just make sure you buy one that has not already been opened (I think the “cover” has the back brace and the “skin” does not – but I’m not 100% sure on the naming and cant log on right now to check)

Thankfully I only had to wait 1/2 hour.

But to design an event around a two hour cycle – no clock – no notice

an ingame cycle that is different on every server, including overflows, no less

communicate wrong starting times

No announcement that the event has begun – I initially had a hard time telling the official fireworks from the player fireworks

and bugged achievement/reward for lots of people

I don’t think this one could have been messed up more if they had actually planned ways to fail

Medium Cof armor automatically hides any shoulder armor because of severe clipping issues. There are a couple of other sets that do that as well, such as one of the cultural light Sylvari orchid set.

I helped kill the queen and threw 3 or 4 eggs at her while doing it.

I got the bonus chest and the chest spawned for me.

Don’t let jerks ruin your day. Frankly, if I added the deaths on the various characters I play they would come to way more than 3000. If you have primarily played 1 character then 2878 is reasonable, especially if its the one you started with when the game came out.

OK, I don’t mind that I went through the dungeon 30+ times and never got the backpack or mini – that’s the luck of the game. Made a little cash and had a little fun with the dungeon.

But this “epilogue” – seriously?

There were a bunch of skins available only from the black lion chests. There was no way anyone was going to get more than one or two of them. It would not have cut into your profits one single dime to let each account that did the full story have a choice of 1 of those skins.

But nooooo….just some boring dialogue, cheap drinks and some boosts from fires.

Seriously, at level 80 the xp and stat boost are kind of useless (nothing in this game is that hard to fight anyway) and even at over 100% magic find I still get junk so the 20% from this boost is – blah.

When the game starts to look like it exists for the sake of the cash shop instead of the other way around maybe it’s time to re-think the allocation of one’s entertainment time.

I put them with my medium 42k coat. The tight sleeves on the coat make it so there is no clipping. Looks very nice.

Well I was really looking forward to this update.

I have NEVER been more disappointed in my life.

I am in a small guild of friends who came over from GW1. Now, after 7 years, we may face extinction because. Oh, sure, we will probably all still be in the guild but already people are joining other large guilds and representing them in order to take part in the missions. So now, after playing together for all this time, we can’t even talk to each other because this fricken game only lets you read guild chat from one guild at at time and has no alliance format.

I don’t really care about missing out on the rewards from the missions

I care about the fact that i can no longer talk to my friends because some bonehead decision in ANet elected to force people into big guilds.

If they were to remove this feature it would be one of the stupidest moves by any mmo ever.

It is the only thing that made being unable to join other orders after endgame even reasonable.

Also a lot of people have put a lot of gold into buying order armor and transmuting it over onto other toons based on the fact that ANet themselves changed the tag from “soulbound” to “accountbound” for such armor, giving the impression they were fine with this feature.

I am hoping and assuming that ANet is reasonably intelligent and will not change this and that the either support or the person who sent the ticket in got mixed up between “order” armor and “cultural” armor. As far as I know, there has never been a previous revert to “whispers armor,” as the reply hinted, but there has been an earlier issue and change to “cultural” armor.
