I’m reasonably sure that no mob in the game drops bags higher than 5 slots. And that the only mobs that drop those are the Queensdale champs. They are, incidentally, direct drops, not in the champ bag.
Are you sure? Doh! I’ll need to check again tonight.

What I’ve been doing is exiting GW2, deleting the wineserver, and cookied processes, starting up GW2 in window mode. If I see cookied again I stop it. Then the TP seems to work for me depending on the position of the moon and alignment of other planets.

Why on earth are you running Queensdale champ train?
Oh, is that why. If I do Champions in Frostforge sound what would I get?
I assumed because it was in the bag, it was Champions loot and it didn’t matter what zone you got it in.

Anet,
You give us great bags from Champions that can contain exotic crafting materials, some fairly decent weapons, and…………wait for it…….5-slot bags.
Why? What possible use are 5-slot bags? At least make them 8-slot so they would actually be useful for a starting character.
They only vendor for 4c and don’t go for anything on the TP. Why on earth are these offered as a reward?

Just buy kittens off the TP for almost nothing. No need to waste laurels for “research”
Well, I live by the rule of:
Making money relies on not spending money.
That is, never buy anything on the TP. May not be the most efficient way to play, but it’s the way I roll.

Thanks. Anyone else? I don’t want to have to blow 5 laurels researching this if someone already knows the answer.

You know, I would post all my problems with this part of hte patch, especially that Tequatl, for example, only spawns:
1. At 7:30AM, I am asleep.
2. At 1PM – I am working or taking a nap if it’s a day off.
3. At 10PM – I have other engagements this late in the evening, including going to bed for work. But given ANet has taken a complete f*** you, we’re putting this patch in whether you like it or not to cater to an extreme minority that wants the game fundamentally changed, as opposed to a large, large number of people who like the game as it is….type approach.
Whatever. I wish I could unsub from this game. But I guess that’s one disadvantage of so much being free. You can’t really unsubscribe to show them how asinine they’re being.
Why not make this post Constructive.
Suggest a rotating boss schedule so that different bosses are available at different times during each week.
There, a constructive post.

“Random” means “unable to be predicted” (a definition that is becoming less and less applicable as we expand our knowledge of science and thus can predict things).
Loot is not random, it is dropped from a table with set probabilities. How those probabilities are controlled is through a bit of software known as a “random number generator”, which is an algorithm that seeks to imitate randomness while keeping overall drop rates within the defined probability margins. Everything about getting loot is formulaic, thus not random. That being said, the idea that some accounts are flagged to get more drops makes for a good consolation story to ease your jealousy when you hear about someone else’s fortunate drop, it would be a business practice that quickly lead to the collapse of the game once news of it got out (which it would).
What do you mean ‘Loot is not random’ with your definition of random.
It can’t be predicted, so it’s random.
It may have an algorithm for how likely, but then it comes down to random whether you roll right to get it.

BTW: I find the portal on the Obsidium Sanctum map easier than the Edge of Mists one. It’s usually quicker to zone in there, and the portals right behind you.

It’s still convenient. Just go to WvW (any map) and take the Lion’s Arch portal there (takes you to Vigil’s Keep).

Hi,
The wiki states how many you get for each Tier, but says that verification is required on a lot of them.
How many fine crafting mats do you get for Tier 1 thru Tier 6?
Thanks.

Rifle Warrior, and I really don’t have much clue about stats. I bought 4 Dwayna’s exotic Heavy Armor though, and plan to get more pieces when I build up more Karma. I’ll look up Beserker armor on the wiki.

Hey everyone, just a question here. No one has mention Necro. Is Necro not ranged?

Are all exotics created equal, or are some better than others? There’s also Legendary, right? But is that only for weapons?

Hi,
On my 80, I recently did the Temple Event and bought a few Exotics for Karma. This seems like pretty good end game gear, but is there any other gear I should aspire to?
I’m not running dungeons, just working on Map Completion, PS Completion, and Champion Trains.
Thanks.

Which 4 have you done. There is probably another easier one than the two you’ve mentioned.
Number of kills, kill variety, killing certain things in certain zones, number of events in certain zones, crafting, gathering, interrupt, dodge…..lots of fairly easy ones.
I have completed ‘kills’, ‘crafter’, ‘gather’, ‘interrupt’
Then do the one that requires kills or events in a certain type of zone. There’s a 1-15 zone of that type available. Just go to WvW, take the portal to Lion’s Arch (which will take you to Vigil Keep) and take the portal to the closest home city to the zone of that type.

Hi,
Yes, I’ve seen the threads. I know there are workarounds that will get the TP to function properly. But having to do those workarounds all the time is leading to the Mac being an inferior version, and reduces the enjoyment of the game. Especially because it can take a minute or two to get the TP up and running, when everyone else can get it up in an instant.
Please please please fix this, ANet.

It will tell you when you go to the exchange section for gold to gems. I think it is 10g roughly for 100 gems now.
Ahh, that’s right. I remember now. It’s not a fixed price, but based on supply and demand.
Thanks.

Ahhh thanks. I clicked on ‘Buy Gems’ that I thought would take to to buying with gold or $. Anyone know how much gold for a gem?

Drat. Came back to the game just a little too late. No problem though, I’m patient. I did pick up one Collection extender for regular price, so that will do me for now.

Hi,
I have the GW2 hard cover Strategy guide that I got for Christmas in 2012. I’ve been browsing through it to remind of stuff as I only recently came back to the game.
One thing it says is that you can buy Gems with in game gold. Is this true? I couldn’t find the option in the Gem store last time I looked. Is using real money the only way to get Gems?

Hi,
Thanks for the Gem store sale over the weekend. I did pick up a Bank extension.
Can we please have ones for Collection upgrades and more Character Slots in the future?

No no no. On my new Warrior, I had to ask for help with a skill point yesterday because I kept dying.
Coming back as a high level is one thing.
Doing it on a level appropriate character is entirely another.

There should be a way to spawn private instances (raids?) for world bosses.
That’s all I have to say before you destroy every single large scale PvE guild and leave thousands of players with nothing left to do in the game.
That’s exactly what they’re doing. Allowing guilds to start spawns.
Or, do you really mean ‘Private’ where no one else can get a piece of the action?
Updated every Monday
BTW: I used to use this:
http://www.guildwars2-crafting.com/
and really like the format of their guides. I guess I could still use these to 400 and then the others from 400-500, irhgt?

Thanks for the web-sites and reasoning why Cooking and JC didn’t get the treatment.
Updated every Monday
Lankybrit, I read it as that they will be starting with maps that currently average below some unspecified population threshold and implementing megaservers full time on those maps. However, when I reread it, I could see your interpretation as a possibility also, so I hope they will clarify which it will be.
That would probably make more sense to implement. Because I can’t imagine how a non-megaserver → megaserver transition would happen in real time. So, maybe there can be a list of those historically low pop maps that will get the treatment first.
Updated every Monday
Not all? WTF not?
Updated every Monday
Please give us a list of which “low-population” maps will now be included with the initial release.
There can’t be a list.
When you zone into a map, it calculates the population across all worlds. If it’s low population, it will become a mega-server. So, it not only depends on map, it depends on time of day.
At least that’s what I’m reading. Please let me know if I got it wrong.

What web-sites do you guys use now? The old one I used to use only goes up to 400.

Thanks all. Got it working last night. I windowed, deleted cookied. I can’t remember if I had to restart GW2, but I think just windowing it did the job. At least I know lots of things to try if it happens again.

For Waypoints, the other way round would work too. Have all waypoints within a zone be free, but have ones outside a zone cost as normal. Hey, it works in Cities.

I thought the dev post implied yes, if you do the monthly before the 15th then you can do it again after — it was a pleasant surprise to realize it only needs 2 things. So 10 dungeons and 4 dailies, boom.
Personally, I’m going for the 4 dailies (done) and the 100 events (33/100 so far) as I don’t do dungeons.

Don’t worry, I only spent Karma on level 80 rare and 4 exotics. I did gasp at the cost of a green piece from a heart verndor on a lower level toon. 562? That’s almost a daily’s worth!

Hi Anthony,
I appreciate what you’re saying however I simply can’t plan to be at home for the Karka Queen Monday to Friday, it’s just not possible, at 9 and 6 I’ll be at or commuting to or from work and because of the whole work thing I won’t be making the one in the middle of the night.
If you changed the order they spawn in from day to day like I suggested in my other post in this thread then it’d be possible to at least try her every now and then.
Day 1: Karka Queen -> Tequatl -> Evolved Jungle Wurm
Day 2: Tequatl -> Evolved Jungle Wurm -> Karka Queen
Day 3: Evolved Jungle Wurm -> Karka Queen -> TequatlThe weekends aren’t much better.
Similarly why spawn only one boss at a time? It’s not like there’ll be a shortage of people to play with now, why have everyone playing on, for example, 6 Fire Elemental maps when you could have 2 Fire Elemental maps, 2 Svanir Shaman maps and (maybe) 2 Dredge Commissar maps attempts? Surely the choice is worth it.
If you doubled or tripled the number of bosses that spawned at a time it’d be more convenient for people and you would be able to spawn all the world bosses on timers. Maybe off peak you can drop the number of bosses that spawn at a time to better suit the server numbers.
+1, this post really hit the nail on the head for me. I cannot participate in a lot of content I used to enjoy because of these changes. That is unacceptable.
A rotating boss schedule certainly sounds like a very reasonable thing to appease lots of concerns about the timed bosses.

I really like to know, why are some people so against joining big and organised guilds?
There are so many benefits, from my perspective anyway. Why I like being in a large guild:
-Biweekly guild missions, very high success rate (except when a GM is bugged).
-Many other events we organise (such as guild quiz and guild lottery)
-Doing many things with your guildies, in an organised way (like wvw or dungeons)
-Access to a guild forum, facebook group and voice chat (in this case mumble).
-It’s very social, met many people there whom I now consider my friends
-Guild passive bonusses
-Now world events are added to the listWhy are people so resistant to having this?
This is a serious question btw, I’m really curious about this.
I’ll try to answer this, as others aren’t doing.
Being in a large guild restricts your freedom about being able to do exactly what you want, when you want. There will be times when you’re expected to show up for stuff, or requests every so often to help out on something (when all you want is to be leveling up an alt).
If you’re concerned now with running bosses when you want, then joining a large guild looks like the way to go now. However, I don’t think a lot of happy smaller guilds will suddenly just want to be in large guilds.

Vigil keep is missing a few services, crafting stations and retraiting, but it’s where most of the LA services were moved.
Indeed. But at least it has all the portals to cities where those things exist.
Also OP, any portal that says it takes you to Lion’s Arch will now take you to Vigil’s Keep. Quite annoying when you get to a part of the personal story that actually has to be done (still) in Lion’s Arch.
So, the easiest way to get to Vigil’s Keep is to open up WvW, go to one of the Zones, and use the ’Lion’s Arch’ portal to get to VK.

- Gathering nodes are still randomized on every map instance.
To the people complaining about this. You were exploiting the fact that you could know the node routes and thus get the same nodes on multiple characters. I understand that you’re upset they’ve removed the exploit, but it’s good for the game overall.
Holy kitten, you heard it here people, using an external site like orrmaps.com was an exploit and you should be ashamed of doing it.
How in the name of god was this an exploit? Gathering specific mats would be a tedious and msierable experience without the help of those maps. On the same note world boss timers or temple status sites were also dirty filthy exploits as well?
That is what I’m trying to figure out, you might wanna ask Lankybrit.4598 for a good reasoning.
Spoilers: you will be disappointed.
Guys, calm down.
You can not like my opinion all you want. It’s just that. My opinion. You have yours, I have mine.
Peace.
Well, it’s not like we dislike your opinion. People just usually expect reasoning for having an opinion. So they can understand your viewpoint, and continue further discussion.
I stated why.
I believe that using the same nodes over and over on multiple characters is an exploit in the design of the game.

I had 250K, but bought a rare weapon, and last night we did a temple run and I bought 4 exotic pieces so I’m down to about 7K

What a joke .. why is it an exploit to learn actually where what ressource is ? That would be as if the randomize the whole map everytime and you have to manually search the way to CoF each time because it changes it location whenever you enter the map.
Because mining the ore on one character and then immediately switching to another character to mine the exact same ore is an exploit. Plain and simple. It doesn’t make sense logically, or RP wise or anything. Randomizing makes much more sense. It’s just that people are upset they can’t gather in the same places over and over.
All IMHO of course.

Ahh, yes, I was confused about Flask, Jug, Drop whatever.
I was talking about from the daily. I had a look at the wiki again, and it’s Drop of Liquid Karma. When did that change from 6K to 600? That’s a massive nerf.
And yeah, the Monthly gives 6k.
What’s the accepted best way to accumulate Karma these days? Run events? The Daily used to be a great source of Karma when I played before.
BTW: Any article explaining the Karma nerf, and why they did it etc.?
