Thanks for trying to help everyone. I got an answer in game. It was an Outfit I clicked on. So I had to go to the outfit tab and click it off.

Hi,
I didn’t realize that double clicking some skins would actually change the appearance of my character. I thought it would just add it to the wardrobe or something. How do I reset my appearance back to the stuff I’m actually wearing?
Thanks. I’m a real noob at wardrobe stuff.

My gold making method is in my last blog post. Basically, it’s farming Seasoned Wood and Iron Ore in Dredgenaught Cliffs.

As you used the word ‘brill’, can I assume you are British?
If so, try the Sylvari. They are voiced as Brits. I love my female Sylvari

Let me answer you as a solo player myself.
Yes, you can play GW2 Solo no problem. As long as you are an altoholic. You can get a character to 80, then another, and another. End game can be dailies, and World Bosses. This is what I do and am really enjoying it. I haven’t got HoT because I’m having too much fun leveling all my characters.
I can assure you that GW2 is very playable for the solo player.

Hi,
If I get Unlimited Tools from the Gem store, and have them in shared slots, do my characters need to equip and unequip each time in order for other characters to use them?
If I don’t have them in shared slots, I guess I need to put them in the bank to transfer between characters, correct?
Thanks in advance.

I’m enjoying being back after 2 and 1/2 years away. I don’t even have HoT and am having a blast. Map completion, World Bosses, leveling alts. It’s all good.

BTW: It looks like the Leather Rack is the best purchase in terms of gold output. I think I might get that first.
And I’m not interested in joining other guilds. I like playing casual by myself.

Nodes are for any character, but you can gather from the Guild Hall. I would only acquire those that do not cost Gems.
I only have a personal guild with no upgrades just for the guild bank. So I guess the nodes for Home Instance will be of use to me.

Do be aware that Unlimited Tool Bundles are not always on offer. Sometimes, you must buy each tool separately, for a total cost of 3000 Gems.
Good luck.
Ahh, thanks for the tip.

Thanks all. I’m saving up for the Unlimited Tools first I think (I have lots of different levels of all the tools on multiple characters right now, and it’s a pain to manage them). They cost 2400 and I have 1838 currently. I’ll need to make about 200 more gold to get there. All in good time. Thanks for the advice.

Hi,
I play lots of Alts, and like to make gold, and then convert that gold in Gems, for upgrades to my account. So, I want to prioritize my next Gem purchases and am hoping that you can help me decide.
I currently have 8 character slots, so don’t need any more right now. I’m using 7/8 currently.
I have purchased a Collection expander, so now I can stack up to 500 of all mats, which seem like enough. No need to go beyond that.
I also already have the Unlimited Salvage Kit.
So, what’s next.
The things that really interest me are:
Unbreakable Gathering Tools:
I presume these allow a character to never have to purchase any ever again. I can gather on one character, then put then in the bank and use them on the next character, right?
Shared slots:
This would be good for those gathering tools, correct. No need to put them in the bank then.
Nodes for Home instance:
I recently looked into my home instance, and being able to gather there would be great. I presume when you purchase one of these, it’s for one character only, right? Not for all your characters.
Bag Tab expansion:
I currently have 2 tabs and it’s almost full with all the stuff I keep that is non crafting. More slots would be nice.
Home Portal Stone:
This sounds very interesting. Especially once I have gathering in my home.
Black Lion Keys:
I have so many chests on all my characters, that I guess I should think about getting these eventually.
More character slots:
Eventually. Low priority. Let me get the current ones to 80 first.
So, what do you think? Anything vital I’m missing? I’m not interested in skins, or boosts or anything.
What do you think should be my highest priority?
Thanks.

Gosh, I just looked up what is required to get things that will consume Bloodstone Dust. There’s no way I’m going to be doing that. I might as well just destroy it all.
Thanks for the tip on combining boosters. I’ll look into that.

From the wiki:
Sigil interaction
A character can always equip two sigils at a time (either one sigil each on a main-hand and off-hand weapon, or two sigils on a two-handed weapon). In general, the two sigils will both provide their effects independently as long as the base sigil is different. The exceptions to this are the attribute increasing stacking sigils: only one stack effect can be active at a time. Additionally, sigils with the same base sigil will share cooldowns between weapon sets.

What should I do with all my ‘stuff’?
Gosh, I have so much stuff in my bank. I was collecting, thinking I would use stuff, and I guess I never will. Should I just trash it. Things like XP boosters, Bloodstone Dust, all other types of boosters. I just have a bank full of stuff that I’m not using, and just taking up space. Also, all the stuff from the 3 Birthday mails on each of my characters!! If anything should have been 1 per account, it’s those
A question about Luck boosters too. That’s a permanent increase, right? Not an increase for an amount of time?

Hi,
Is the idea to start in say Arcane, and cast something, and then switch to Fire for the main rotation? You get advantages when you switch, right?
Thanks.

Thanks very much for the detailed explanation. I have 7 characters currently out of 8 slots. Two of them are 80. I think I’d enjoy revving up another account and starting to level 5 more characters. Maybe I should get the others to 80 on my main account though. Thanks again.

OK. Thanks a lot. I’m looking at my Rifle Warrior and Bow Ranger first (my 2 80s). I’ll have a closer look at what they all do and put points into them.

DeanBB: Would you recommend having more than one account? I might be interested in getting a 2nd one, for daily stuff etc.

But, if those accounts were linked, you could only do one daily per day.

Yes and yes. 5 emails, 5 purchases.
Thanks.

How do you have more than 1 account? Do you need to buy multiple game copies, and use a different email for each?

Thank. I kind of understand those. I’m talking about the noes you click on the left side, like Strength, Banners, Sigils etc. Do people max them all out, or is there some choice in what to put points in?

I’m getting used to the Daily now, and in many ways they are better than the old dailies. I did the Mining, Vista, and Jumping Puzzle yesterday, no problem. The way they are better is that you get a chest for each one of them, in addition to the 2g and chest for completing 3. Very nice indeed.
Updated every Monday
I have a question.
I’m very confused about Skills. You know. The ones with the Circle, that you put points in to complete that circle. I just don’t understand them. Do they give passive bonuses, or do they provide skills that you have to add to your skill bar, or what? I had certain ones of them filled out on my Warrior, but others were blank, and I have a few hundred points to spend. I’m really confused by them.
Thanks.

Thanks everyone. I have about 68% of the map complete and will look at completing more. I did get the daily done yesterday, with the vista, mining, and jumping puzzle. I’m ignoring the 4 event one now.
I also got to do Shadow Behemoth, which was fun. Starting to make some gold again. It feels good.
Now to get back to leveling other characters and seeing what’s up with my other 80. I haven’t bought HoT yet, after seeing what some are saying about it on the HoT forum.
Cheers.

They certainly are a lot different from what they used to be. I just came back to the game last night after 2 1/2 years away. I didn’t even get the event one done LOL.
Updated every Monday
Thanks both of you. Haven’t picked it up yet.
As for changes, boy, dailies have changed.
I started trying to get events done in Diessa Plateau and got 2/4 done. So only 1/6 of the daily completed last night.
I guess when I spend more time and know where all the events spawn and everything, it will be easier. There are tons of WvW and PvP ones, but I don’t do either of those. I guess I’m stuff with doing 3/4 PVE ones. I didn’t have time to try and get on any World Bosses, but will do that soon.
Also, the login reward is really good. A couple of Mystic Coins for the first one. I’ll check the wiki for what I get beyond that.
And I need to check out what happened to my personal Guild. I guess there’s no more Influence, right?
If I think of more questions I’ll add them to this thread. Thanks again.

Hi,
I played back in 2014, and am just about to come back to the game.
What’s changed in 2 1/2 years? I have two level 80 characters and lots of others, and I remember doing the world bosses on my level 80s. Is that still a thing?
Also, I’m considering getting Heart of Thorns, but am a pretty casual player. Do you think it’s worth it?
Thanks in advance.

You don’t HAVE to pay a subscription for Wildstar either. Nor for TERA. Nor for the upcoming Archeage. What’s your point?
Updated every Monday
Hey, lets give it another shot, they have come closer and closer to perfecting their craft.
i see a bright future and no i am not a fanboy, never been. Either way, i think this game will become better than most of us expect it to become.
Nah sorry. Wildstar is just so much fun, and I’ve already got a CREDD so I my seoncd month (and I’m pretty sure every month) will be free. The Diminishing Returns and constant nerfing of every way of making decent gold for a casual player was really starting to get annoying, and Wildstar came along just at the right time.

Instead of $15 per month, allow it to be paid with a certain amount of Gems per month.

I keep seeing people saying it’s a ‘stupid move’, ‘bad idea’, ‘will push new players away’, etc.
I have to ask all of you this question: How is it any different than telling them, they missed out on old content, and can NEVER do it, even if they want a specific reward only attainable via that content, just because they didn’t even know about the game at the time? This gives them the ability to play that ‘chapter’ if you will, for a nominal fee, instead of being completely screwed. And this doesn’t change anything for those that log in to do it. The stupid move would be if you had to pay just to play it at all. It’s a smart move from a business standpoint, and does NOT negatively affect us, the players, unless you wanted to keep a specific reward to yourself, so you can rub it in the face of new players, and go “Haha, see what you can’t get”
Give it a rest and give actual feedback worth a dime.
How about ‘Of course they can do it, just by clicking on something, no cost involved’?
So…clicking the log in button during the story with no cost involved?
Or, it still being clickable after it’s over for some who missed it.

To answer the OP – NO.

I think following the 200 gems per update formula would get very expensive, and since they are new they won’t have the gold to buy gems.
Um… exactly?
No, under the On Demand menu of my DVR for free. Or streaming over the internet. The point is, we don’t need to purchase and own it.
LOL They brought up that analogy. Not me.

Looking over the LS season 2 blurb I spotted this “Past episodes will be available for purchase for 200 gems”
Does this mean if we want to reply any LS content we need to pay for it in gems? Is it an unlock a chapter forever fee for every account or is it character bound? If we pay for a chapter can we team with people who haven’t?
Personally, not sure how I feel about this move. To me it seems to step over the ‘morality line’ and move GW2 to a payment model I don’t really like..
Hmm
If you log in during the release window of an episode (e.g. two weeks) you unlock the episode for your account. You can replay it as many times as you want for free. If you miss the release window and you want to play an episode that you didn’t unlock, you can purchase it.
It’s a lot like watching television in that you can watch (and record) an episode for free when it airs. If you miss it, you can buy the episode off iTunes later. Does that make sense?
Except you’re playing it, not purchasing it. You can watch it for free again using your DVR.
You log into the game to “record the story on your DVR” so you can play it again for free.
If you forget to set your DVR (by logging in to capture the content) you can’t get that show for free anymore.
