If you don’t like playing your Ele, why on earth do you want it to be level 80? Confused.

Don’t want player trading. The TP is freakin excellent.
Don’t want duels. Boring and pointless.

I don’t think GW2 is doing much wrong at all. I like pretty much everything about it. I just think that more content would be warranted that will keep other people happy. More permanent content. If they aren’t going to do an expansion, how about just another zone. Completely filled out with hearts and everything, for level 80s.

“Hey, we fixed your Warden!” – “Great, nothing changed, and also reflects are broken.”
“Hey, we fixed your fractal drops!” – “Great, they are now lower.”
“Hey, we fixed the Mystic Forge!” – *Great, now I get a 76 piece from 4 80s"

Why would we in the US care?

I had an issue with a Torn rotator cuff on my left shoulder, which meant I couldn’t play WoW normally. They had a click to move feature, so I could continue playing, with just using my right hand. I don’t know if GW2 has a click to move option though.

PLEASE don’t learn how to (badly) play the game with a Ranger…..
Standing still, shooting a longbow while your pet tanks is a HORRIBLE way to learn the game mechanics you will need later in the game….
To be fair, as a Ranger, you don’t really need them later in the game,

They could do that if they really wanted too, simply by altering the ratio directly.
Of course they COULD, but why WOULD they?
How do you think these forums would react if they did something like that?
Depends in which direction

True but a Moderator told me to post it here so I did.
Can’t disobey them. That would be bad. And it’s bad to be bad.
LOl, they did, didn’t they.
IMHO they should have pointed you at this one:

Re-posted here as per a Moderator’s suggestion:
Evening all.
I just attended my first Shadow Behemoth after the implementation of the new megaservers & I have to say I’m absolutely disgusted with player attitude nowadays.
Almost 95% of the raid just sat there spamming skill 1 during the portals phase instead of helping kill the portals. The worst part: it’s considered “normal” now. I’m sorry, since when did Guild Wars 2 turn into easy-mode World of Warcraft?
I so wish ArenaNet would punish the leechers somehow. Not contributing to a major part of an event should not be tolerated. It’s as bad as the leechers that used to suck the life out of Competitive Missions & Alliance Battles in Guild Wars.
I do Shadow Behemoth at 6:45 nearly every night and I’ve never had this experience (or not noticed it). So, don’t worry about what others are doing, just do your thing and be happy with the loot. And what you’re talking about has nothing to do with boss synchronization. It’s more about Mega-servers.

I’m actually not playing much anymore, the lack of new content kills me so i’m playing only for the daily now.
:(I stopped doing dailies (on a daily base) months ago. Not sure why people keep doing that.
One easy gold per day is nothing to sneeze at.

Everybody should just heed what they say, and ‘Get More Gold!’. Go on, you know you want to.

not to say I’m old but I remember key punch operators working endlessly to build files for the 1401 or the later 360, if that don’t date me. I remember playing chess via modem on what was to become known as “the internet” back in 1975. Pong was the first video game I played and I won’t even venture to guess how many different games I have played or at least sampled since then, I stumbled upon Guild Wars in February 2005, open beta and bought the Collector’s Edition after the experience … I crunch numbers, build and test everything … between Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2, I collectively have 95 characters, 65 on the former and 30 on the later, I know lore and weapons, stats and various builds as well as any of the youngsters, but I think the main reason I love Guild Wars 2 is the fluidity of the game as it grows with you, and the friendly community of players that you meet along the path.
In my first year at University we were programming with punched cards, but we got a 360 the second year and could actually type it in
My gaming started back when I was about 12 and I used to design my own boardgames, make up my own wargame rules with model soldiers, and made my own dice cricket game (a la Owzat) using 2 dice.

Rouven has it right. Buy up the T6 bags with Laurels and sell them on the TP. You’ll average 1g per laurel. Your 5g will buy you much better gear than what is contained in the gear bag.

I didn’t know Dawn went that high, now I feel robbed ;’(
Why do you feel robbed? At the time you listed them, they weren’t that high. That’s all that mattered. You still presumably made a pretty penny.

It does look pretty cool, OP. Good job.

The capture events are required to open traits. With Mega-servers, they are almost always open, with people defending them, and the capture events hardly ever happen.
This is what people say, although in my experience, I’ve done q few capture events since April 15th.

Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?
This sentence hurts my brain. I can usually extrapolate the meaning from poorly constructed sentences, but this? Can you please clarify?
I think he was trying to say that nobody goes to other zones, which is not true. (i hope i got it right lol….harder to figure that out than reading ancient forgotten lang.)
No it is an Internet term. I think he is taking a jab at the OP’s English.
Well if he did not understand OP then he is plain ignorant nab <.< not everyone knows english as good as others…
As well as others….please

I really don’t see the problem. I get most of it done by playing my characters as normal, and then finish it off with my main. Stop looking at the past, and just look at what we have now. It’s not bad at all.

I had a crazy idea that Ascended could be the equivalent of level 90 gear. Maybe the 80-90 experience just improves your character in some way (Traits, stats, whatever) so that you’re more powerful. Maybe mobs at higher levels have increased probability of dropping a pre-cursor or something.
So basically force people to get Ascended gear in order to do the higher level areas?
Or stick with 5% worse Exotics. I’m thinking character stats would get significant boosts to lessen the impact of gear.
However, I would be all for new gear too, but I know a lot of you wouldn’t.

Did I say anything about new gear? :0
How useful would lvl 80 gear be at lvl 90?

I agree OP, but I don’t want the things you want.
I want a new expansion with 10 new levels, 5 new zones, and maybe a new prof or race.
The absolute last thing I want is an increase in the level cap. What a big kitty you to people who busted their butt for ascended gear.

Never seen a game with so many piñata bosses being ridiculously rushed. Very shameful.
WoW Heroic Dungeons are like this. The Bosses on Timeless Isle are comparable too.

I wasn’t around for it the first time round. Is it worth doing? Can anyone give me a link to info about it, or tell me what it was called last year so I can google it?
Thanks.
If you like jumping puzzles that are gorgeous with completely different movement skills- Bazaar is for you.
If you like farming- Queens Pavilion is for you
If you like one on one challenge Gauntlet is for youcheck it out- those were the most popular LS releases.
I like things to improve my characters and make gold. Is there any of that? Any good loot from stuff, or large bags or something?
well Pavilion was all about loot- it was a farmers gold making paradise
if you want to improve builds/skills on individual characters- Gauntlet was all about that
Also defeating Liadri- the final fight in the Gauntlet gave you essentially the most exclusive and coveted mini in the game- I die of righteous envy every time I see a Liadri mini
Sounds like the Pavillion is just the thing for me. Thanks.

It has nothing to do with how many gems or gold is “out there” among the general population. All that matters is the number of gems and amount of gold in the exchange. That’s it. A simple ratio between the two, nudged up and down 15% based on the direction of the exchange so gold is sunk twice.
Want gem shop items for free, then you are stuck driving the mechanism that raises the price for those that want gem shop items for free. Want to reverse the trend? Buy gems with cash and convert them to gold. It’s not rocket surgery.
OK everyone. Listen up. There are some great items in the Gem Shop and you need them NOW! So get out your credit cards and start buying up Gems. You know you want to!!

Next year it will be 1g = 1 gem
Anything less than 100 gems for 10g and I’m not buying. If everyone else does the same, the price will adjust back up. So, I expect it to stay in the 90-110 range.

I haven’t been able to access BLTP since I purchased the game almost 3 months ago and theres been no improvement with updates or any of the steps suggested, its quite disheartening.
Strange. It’s been working fine for me every single day since late April.

I have another suggestion:
Do whatever is your best money making activity and buy them on the TP. This is always pretty much more time efficient than farming materials directly.

There’s no trend. It was 106, then 96, now 105. Who know what it will be tonight?
Look at the long term graph…
OK, But it seems to have stabilized and over the last month has been just moving up and down within a pretty narrow range. And yeah, I had no idea that gems used to be way cheaper.

As long as the average player prefers to convert gold into gems rather than buy gems and convert them to gold, the gold per gem price will tend in increase.
Once we reach the point where the average player goes either way, the gold per gem price will plateau.
If we reach the point where the average player prefers to spend real money on gems and converts gems into gold, the gold per gem price will decrease.
The fact that gold to gems is trending up in price indicates that the average player still prefers to trade gold for gems.

Yes, I just did him yesterday and got the regular drops. Are you sure you’re not trying to loot on a character that has already looted from him that day? You can only get loot once per day per character.
BTW – Funny co-incidence. My latest picture in my blog is of us taking the Shaman down yesterday

I think you are mis-remembering OP. There was never the ability for other players to add to your Renown Heart progress.

Wow. This sparked quite a bit of debate.
Anyway, the price seems very volatile, and fluctuates a lot. Fortunately, it was back up to 105 gems for 10g on Sunday, so I bought 40g worth.

The price is determined by the amount of gems in the pool. As more people trade gold for gems, the quantity reduces, causing the price to increase. As more people trade gems for gold, the quantity increases, causing the price to decrease.
Phew, I was worried it was just related to my own history, and gradually, I would get less and less. I guess I can continue playing

$15 at Christmas 2012 but it was from a BB gift card present not my money really.
Then $25 recently to get another char slot and the infinite salvaging tool.
Then decided I would never spend any more, and have just been buying Gems with Gold.

Hi,
I was able to get 112 gems for 10g a while back. Then, last time I did it, it was 106 gems for 10g. Now I look and would only get 96 gems for 10g.
What sets the price? Not just my buying history, right? Is it to do with the overall ratio of buying Gold with Gems vs Gems with Gold?
Thanks.

Problem with living story is, the content is only added whilst it is there. If they take away the living story you cannot go there and the game becomes bored again. It’s like a cake that once a month has a nice icing, but all the other days of the month it hasn’t The baker is wondering why people only come and order the cake when the icing is there.
Bad example but you know what I mean. I hear people calling out for new races or new classes yes that can be fun for a few hours, but once you hit 80 your bored again. You already did all dungeons know the maps did the quests, all that’s left is the personal story and even that will end and then? What then?
And with an expansion this problem is even worse, your baker once a YEAR makes some nice icing that lasts 1 week maybe 2 weeks.
On the other hand, with constant updates every 2 weeks, you get good icing every 2 weeks for 1 day.
Yet people don’t complain about content in general, including expansions, but only about the Living Story.
At least by releasing new content every two weeks you get something new to do all the time, something you can never do with an expansion that you finish in a week and then get bored.
Nope, with an Expansion, you get pretty much a whole new cake.

First they need to make legendaries account bound on acquire, then we can talk about cutscenes and voiceovers.
They used to be soulbound on use and were not able to be placed on the TP. Not sure why they ever changed this.
So that you could pass it among your characters and use it on whichever one you wanted. Soulbound on Use means you CAN put it on the TP, as long as you don’t use it. Just like Account bound on Use.

I sometimes go to Oak just before SB time. One or two others are there, Oak is up, and I say in Map chat – “Wait for the train before attacking Oak”. Usually people listen until some idiot comes along and piles into Oak. But we just wait for the train anyway and the idiot hardly makes a dent in it, and everyone gets to kill it.

That bag example is a pretty obvious one, but it happens with low level gear too. I go to put something that could be vendored for 1s98c up, and find the lowest seller is something like 2s10c, netting them a loss over vendoring it.

Karma gear is the same as you get from Dungeons. Exotic. Exotic is the easiest end game gear to get, but Ascended is better (but only 5 % or so). And of course, then there’s the Legendary weapon.
