Thanks to everyone here. I changed to sell at lowest seller price (can’t be bothered to type in my own undercut price) and am making more gold now. If there is only a minute difference between highest bid and lowest sell, I’ll do highest bid for a quick sell, but otherwise, the lowest sell is working. I do have 50 or so items regularly in my transaction list, but the money is trickling in all the time.

Well, very weird then. Can anything else explain the sudden lack of players other than them deciding “I’ve done Oak and not going to do any more” all at the same time?
Did Shadow Behemoth pop?
Nope, just did it earlier. It was after the 6:45 one and definitely before the 8:45 one. Wouldn’t have explained my – no response to my map chat – either.

In my opinion, leveling is actually fun.
Well, for me, anyway. I like completing maps, getting the reward, and advancing my character.
I currently have 1 level 80 and am leveling 6 other characters.

Hi,
Had something very weird happen to me yesterday, and wondered if it was because I changed instances. Quite a few people (about 7 or
were on the Queensdale Champion Train, and we had just killed Oak, and prepared to head to Boar.
Now, I actually walk/run to Boar to save on the waypoint cost, and I didn’t go to the mound directly, I went to the farmhouse to start the event.
I had to wait about 20 secs until the event was available, but when I went outside to walk to Boar, there was absolutely no one on the boar mound. I asked in map chat what happened and got absolutely no response. It was as if I was on my own in the zone.
Question then, could everyone else have got a different Megaserver instance when they Waypointed? Or can that only happen upon zone change?

When I haven’t got loot, it’s usually because I arrive late, and don’t do much damage. That’s what I think anyway, But it could be that I was added too late and there was already a limit or something.

Hi,
I know it’s supposed to be Alt-click. On a mac though, kitten-fn (which is supposed to be alt)-click doesn’t work. I’ve tried lots of stuff and I can’t get the stacks to split.
Thanks.

nvm i cant read….you wrote armor not weapons sorry
and then it changed to a ring so who knows what it is in reality
lol. Yeah. I thought it was armor, but then remembered that it was on the right hand side in that little box of 6. Sorry about that.

that’s what flippers do, yes.
It usually takes a while because you’re waiting on the buy order to be filled, then you’re waiting on the sell listing to be filled. longer on low velocity items like this, much shorter on higher velocity items like globs of ecto (you’ll note that the spread between buy and sell is almost always much smaller on high velocity items).
I previously guessed this item sells about 4-7/week, so you’d be looking at about 1-2 days before buy order was filled and 1-2 days before sell listing was sold (assuming you maintained the highest buy order and lowest sell listing, which can be pretty annoying to refresh).
In reality, people will undercut you within minutes/hours and their order would be filled first, so expect to wait much longer than this, though I have been pleasantly surprised before: This one time, on the TP, I placed a buy order for 20g on some exotic trinket (Jan ‘13), it was filled in under 10 minutes, I then listed it for 55g, and it sold within 20 minutes. such fond memories of easy money.
If you want an even higher profit flip, check out Ghastly Grinning Shield Skin’s 630g profit
Thanks. I only have 13g now though, so I might have to wait a while to try some of this out. I convert my gold to gems pretty much as soon as I get 50 or so.

Yeah, it kind of bummed me out that we only got laurels from the first half of the month Monthly, but not the 2nd half. But, as they say, don’t look a gift horse in the mouth, because we did get double the other rewards this month.

Umm Unidentified dyes have dropped in price and are only about 26s now. Why not just buy them?

Hmm. I guess maybe it was. I think it was a ring drop from Shadow Behemoth. How do I infuse it?

tell you what; you can assume Crying Thorn of Dreams buys and sells thousands every hour.
There is currently a 142.3g profit potential between sell listing (including -15% fee) and the buy orders.
with thousands being bought and sold every hour, you are sure to be able to flip at least a couple hundred before noon.
So, the strategy is putting in buy orders at the buy order price or slightly above, and then selling at the low sell price or just below? Did I get that right?

Hi,
Were my eyes deceiving me last night, or did some of my armor actually have 2 upgrade slots. I think they did, because I saw an ‘unused’ one on a piece of armor and noticed it already had an upgrade on it., because when I double clicked a ‘something’ to apply it, it actually replaced that upgrade, instead of going int he unused slot.
What am I seeing here, and how can I use that 2nd upgrade slot?
Thanks.

My main problem with GW2 is the lack of content.
It’s been a year and a half since release and we’re essentially playing the exact same game.
Hands down the biggest issue
But there is SO MUCH content already. Have people really taken it ALL in already. There’s so much to do in the game that it would take someone years and years to experience it all.

What are you guys talking about? I didn’t see this in the article about the Gem Store.
If you go to the Promotions tab on the trading post, you should have an option to receive 1 Black Lion key for 0 gems. Note that it is worth it to check the Promotions tab on a regular basis because there are often freebies available.
OK, I will do. Why don’t they announce this like they did with the free Magic Find booster recently?

I recommend you go read some of their older blog posts and you’ll see what I’m talking about: endless carrots-on-a-stick, empty promises, and illusions of grandeur.
It’s ‘Delusions of grandeur’, but I see your point.

Must be level because I don’t think any Boosters, banners or food effects increase event reward XP.
From wiki:
There are several ways to increase the amount of experience earned from kills.
(and the table under this lists all the XP increasing methods).
Well, he did say “boss dies..”.. So……
But, I do agree, it probably is more likely that it was because of level.

My main problem with GW2 is the lack of content.
It’s been a year and a half since release and we’re essentially playing the exact same game.
One of my friends recently started playing World of Warcraft again after quitting something like a year ago. Funny thing is, she said the same thing about WoW, 2 days into the game.
Well, WoW is in a unusual spot right now, because it’s between expansions. But it had tons of new content between MoP launching and now.

Has he perhaps got an Experience booster active? Maybe he clicked on a Guild Experience boost banner, or is he in a guild that gives boost to experience?
Point is, there are quite a few ways to boost experience in the game, and perhaps his was boosted, whereas yours wasn’t.

I must admit, Megaservers is losing a bit of its luster for me, because the Queensdale Champion Train was a mess last night, with no one agreeing on the order, and people sniping Champions left and right.

Yes, crafting instead of proffesion, but wiki dont say how to delete craft like i never used it.
“To learn a craft, speak to the relevant master craftsman; they also answer basic questions and sell supplies for their craft. Although a character can only have two disciplines active at a time, they can pay a master craftsman to switch, at cost of 10 Copper coin per level already attained in the target discipline. Taking on a new discipline is always free, while switching back to a maxed discipline (at level 500) costs 50 Silver coin. "

Let me try:
Your character has a profession (Engineer, Warrior etc.) commonly called a class in other MMOs.
Your character can have 2 Crafts (Amorsmith, Cooking etc.) at one time.
I presume you’re talking about Crafts.
Your question is answered here:

You play a lot of games. Why do you care if GW2 is down for a bit

It’s quite simple really. Anet wants us to buy Gems with real money, so they make gold as hard to come by as possible.

How is everyone getting this much? I run two dungeon paths per day, and I have room for bloodstone in my collections, and almost no dragonite ore.
Everyone isn’t getting that much. Just the OP. I have a stack or two, but I realize that eventually I’ll be in the same boat as the OP.

stop farming the same place.
Why? Maybe you should stop farming different places. Your style of play upsets me and so Anet should do something about it.
They continue to nerf “Doing the same thing over and over”. Why should this even surprise you?
Updated every Monday
If your gathering all your materials, then your not really ‘profiting’ right? Your just converting self harvested raw materials into T7 dowels to get the max reward from all that farming right?
If you where to pay others to farm with buy orders on the raw materials, then spend your daily craft allotment on refining them into dowels, then you are making some profit as well as selling your daily craft time.
Some people will argue that there is an opportunity cost involved in farming your own materials. Were this the real world, I would agree, but since every second spent in a video game is your recreational time, I’m inclined to leave opportunity costs out of the equation when discussing “profit”.
You can’t really leave it out. You need to consider what else you could have been doing to make gold that could have been an even better investment of time.

)

Let’s take an example. I am at least level 150 on my crafts, so I don’t need Tier 1 and 2 materials any more. So, if I get Iron Ore, I just sell on the TP. Currently, I get 1s 10c from the highest buy order. But the lowest sell is 1s 33c. So maybe I’ll try listing them at 1s 32c tonight and see what happens.

Wow. Now I’m totally confused by Spidy. Let’s just take Toxic Focusing Crystal. It says on the recipe page that sell price is over 1g, but if you search on Toxic Focusing Crystal, it says the sell price is only 26s. What the heck is going on?
EDIT: Wait. Ignore me. That’s because in crafting, you make 5 of them. Got it.
Updated every Monday
@Mystic – That’s assuming you can actually sell them for that price. There are no buy orders at those prices, those are just other sell orders.

Those sound like good rules of thumb, especially the first, as I don’t buy anything off the TP anyway. I was indeed one of those ‘suckers’

Hi,
Do you usually take a quick sale to the person with the highest buy order, or do you post it above that price?
I always make a quick sale, and think maybe I’m doing it wrong.
