Because since 25 Aug 2012 all you can do is still the same.
1-Dungeon (mindless when you have a weapond and an armor, so after 1 week you can stop doing dungeon)
2-WvW (if you don’t like zerg you are out)
3-Spvp (they are somehow working on this but nothing changed yet.)

So tell me. what big changes has been made in your routine?

That’s irrelevant. The fact that someone doesn’t regularly participate in content doesn’t mean the content isn’t there, or that others aren’t participating in it.

Bank/character gold merge: Undo please

Posted by: Lankybrit.4598

Lankybrit.4598

I dis-agree. I think this is one of the best features. I start a new character, and can buy tools and anything I like, because all gold is per account. It also doesn’t matter which character gets the profits from the TP because it all goes in the same pool.

So, I respectfully dis-agree.

that..or..you could run something that will gets you gold and just buy the T6 mats?
I THINK that could be faster..am I right?

Yep. There’s something wrong with this game, because that’s true in nearly every instance. Want something. Don’t farm it, farm gold instead and buy on the TP.

The alternative for T6 mats is to buy with laurels. You don’t know which 3 you’ll get, but if they’re not the ones you need, you can sell them and buy the ones you need.

Too much Silk

in Crafting

Posted by: Lankybrit.4598

Lankybrit.4598

Can we please get the material costs reduced on silk. It’s by far the most crazy expensive ingredient now.

Reduce Silk Bolts back to 2 scraps per bolt, and reduce the Ascended Spools down to 50.

From the title, I thought that there is “too much silk” in the TP and you complaining that Silk is too cheap and need to be more expensive! But actually you are complaining the opposite.

If the OP would just change the title to “Too much Silk Required”, then we’d all know what this thread was about.

Wheres New Content?? (State of the Game) [merged]

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Lankybrit.4598

Lankybrit.4598

That’s because you pay a subscription to WoW for updates, and you don’t to Anet.

Actually I did spent $50 on gems when I came back to GW2 a couple weeks ago. It really shouldn’t be a sub vs non-sub issue as money should be coming into the game. The gem store is their “sub” model.

That’s true, but they’re not forcing anyone to buy gems on a regular basis. In fact, after buying some gems with real money, I decided never to again. I’m now buying gems with gold.

I agree that it would be nice to have new content, but I would be fine without it, with various tweaks here and there.

Yeah, this game is totally free.

It’s not like I had to pay $60.00 or anything like that in the first place to play it and I’m sure the Gem Store is solely there for charitable purposes.

Not to mention that those proceeds have been put into the China release. Thanks ANet!

Well, you pay for WoW AND you pay a subscription. See the difference?

You pay for GW2 AND you don’t pay a subscription AND you don’t get any PERMANENT content with the updates. See the difference?

Absolutely.

No Subscription == No Permanent Content (well, not much)

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Lankybrit.4598

Lankybrit.4598

Try being a WoW player. 8 months without new content, and 8 more until their next expansion!

Not the best example. I came back to GW2 after a couple years and nothing has really changed. A new WvW map where each team just zergs and tries to avoid the other teams, 1 new gear type and a single new high end dungeon.

Meanwhile looking back at re-installing WoW after two years I have 2 entire expansions worth of content and everyone talking about the next expansion’s content. Not to mention patch 6.0 which will completely change the game’s mechanics in a lot of ways. Actually it was talk about that patch that got me interested in that game again.

It was the April 15th patch that brought me back to GW2, but the game is exactly the same as I left it. It’s still zerg/stack/zerker with the same old class problems with the same areas of the game to play in.

That’s because you pay a subscription to WoW for updates, and you don’t to Anet.

Please reduce Waypoint costs

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Lankybrit.4598

Lankybrit.4598

OK, I guess I’m just poor, and don’t make money as easily as you guys. Yes, silver is important to me as I only tend to make 1g or maybe 2g per day with my normal playing. I have about 31g right now, after spending 70g on gems. That 31g would have taken about 2 weeks, except I got an exotic drop that I sold for 6g recently.

And, maybe it isn’t much, but the Champion bags now usually throw out about 1s20c. It would just be nice to think that that covered the waypoint cost to get to them, and that any loot was just on top of that. IMHO.

OH, and one more thing. They got rid of Unidentified Dye drops also, which was one of my best money earners before April 15th – sigh.

How is it that everyone was complaining about double waypoint costs with Orr waypoints always appearing contested, but are now saying it doesn’t really matter at all?

Broad generalizations are wrong and insulting. Some people never cared in the first place.

Well, that’s the impression I got from all the comments on Megaservers. There were lots of people complaining about the doubling of the waypoint costs.

But all your characters still count only as one member of the guild. Influence is awarded on a player’s activities in the guild.

I know that. I know I’ll be getting influence 100 times slower than a guild of 100 active players. But I’ll still be getting influence over time.

Please reduce Waypoint costs

Lankybrit.4598

For example, waypoints in Queensdale are about 1s50c. If there was a 20% reduction, I would save 30c per waypoint. The waypoint to Orr is about 3s, so I would save 60c per. It would all add up to quite a saving over time, and it just wouldn’t feel so draining each time you had to take one.

Hi,

Waypoint costs are a big money sink now that Champion Bags have been nerfed, and dungeon runs have been nerfed, and just about everything that makes money has been nerfed. I’m not saying reduce them to almost nothing, just a 20% or 25% reduction. This would make it not seem like such a waste of money when going to Orr, or when running Champion Trains or whatever.

Agree?

Build a bank.
Edit your logo.

Everything else isn’t worth the influence since you would likely need to buy large sums of it simply to do anything else. Guilds are meant to have lots of players in them generating influence playing and the upgrades are priced based on that assumption.

But, I’ll be gaining influence steadily because I will be playing all my characters, and spend a fair bit of time in the game. So, it’s basically free influence that I’m wondering what to do with.

Selling Strategy?

in Black Lion Trading Co

Posted by: Lankybrit.4598

Lankybrit.4598

As others have implied, it’s all about the velocity of the market. With crafting materials there is no real issue unless you are really unlucky and list to sell just as the market hits its peak or as a rush on an item is coming to an end (iron ore and Unidentified dyes have both experienced this recently). However that rare level 47 bow you found might still be sitting on the TP after a month even though you undercut the lowest seller by ten percent.

Yeah, that’s what I’m finding. I actually got an exotic drop, and the highest buy was about 6g, with lowest sell about 7g. I got greedy and went for 7g. But after many days, I gave up, removed it and took the highest buy. I still have about 40 (mostly gear) auctions up.

If you have exotic gear in that range, always check the value of the attached sigil/rune. IF you have spare BLSKs, its most of the time more profitable to salvage the exotic. Apart from a couple of ectos and dark matter, you get a 100% chance to recover the upgrade and if it has stats from non crafted inscriptions/insignias (dire, soldier, shaman, magi, sentinel, rabid etc.) you have about a 60% chance to salvage an insignia/inscription as well, which sells for a couple of gold.
And if the item has a skin that you have not unlocked, it will unlock upon salvaging.

Wow. Still re-learning the game. Thanks.

Hannah, that’s a very small part of the feature update, and a very personal reason you like the patch. Good, you like it. I don’t think that’ll translate well to why others like or dislike it though.

You’re happy that Ascended went account bound. I’m pretty sure we can all agree that’s a good thing, along with no repair, and no trait swapping fees. It’s the way Traits are being handled and the Boss schedules that are the contentious points.

Lankybrit.4598

Also, if you’re a straight guy playing a female because you don’t want to stare at male meat cheeks for hours, why are you staring at male butts in the first place?

The question, really, is less why and more… how? Most male armours have something covering their backsides up. Unless said players have a habit of running around without pants at all times… o_O

You say armours, but you also say pants. I’m really confused.

Generally, my use of British English terms tends to leave me spending the next few posts explaining them. Spellings, on the other hand, tend to go unnoticed.

So tell me, by Pants, did you mean underwear? Or by Armour, did you mean Armor?

But, they did provide new levels for Crafting Disciplines 400-500, so I’m not without hope that they’ll actually do more zones, and maybe even more character levels in the futures.

In my opinion, leveling is not fun

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Lankybrit.4598

Lankybrit.4598

But Guild Wars 2 is all about Exploration. And Exploration levels your character. I don’t know what you are after, but the zones of GW2 are beautiful, and exploring them is fun.

Exploring gets old fast when you’ve already explored said zones.

The problem with leveling a new character when you already have three or more 80’s is that you’ve already done everything there is to do and ANet hasn’t really released any new content to alleviate the process.

Well, I don’t get bored in the zones I’ve been to previously, but I guess that’s just me. Also, I try to do zones I haven’t done for a while. But hey, valid point, leveling after having done it many times before may certainly be a drag for some players.
