Correct me if I am wrong but is it already a month since Anet has annouced bi-weekly balance patches?
They released patch on 23rd last month then after 2 weeks they released patch that basicly had nothing to do with balance just bug fixes. And this is 3rd week since that patch.
I just dont get how can you change the whole meta and then just go blow ele warhorn for a month.
So is it ok to expect that after month there is gonna be something done about these moflocks?
Or fix something else anything… just do something…
Maybe im just biased and wrong, maybe really a game company that cant make leaderboard for 3 years actually managed to make one of their biggest balance patches completely perfect and there is no update required.
True, people started whining about mesmer damage being too high after the patch which is wrong, mesmer have had kittened dmg for more than year already, those kittens shouldve been nerfed long long time ago but before patch mesmers did melt to condis and thiefs so people didnt mind them. Now when mesmers arent on respawn constantly people are noticing their dmg.
Back when they buffed celestial amulet more than year ago mesmer started doing incredible dmg, i remember logging in 1v1 arena and even mesmers were laughing how ridiculous the dmg is, but then everyone started playing celestial classes and only zerks were thiefs who didnt have problems with mesmers, so noone cared that mesmers dmg being too high.
Bottom line is that we have this selfish community with mentality of “its not problem until its my problem”.
Been like that with every class, you can point out something broken but if the player who reads it doesnt experience that then he will say its l2p issue.
Mediguards were broken since ever but noone played them outside 1v1 arenas so they were fine, chill of death always was dumb and could oneshot zerks below 50% but noone cared until everyone started playing power necro.
So ye its same stuff with everything, not like anet would do something but you cant even point out broken stuff in this game till most of community experience it, otherwise they will just deny it.

Ye necros are pretty lame atm with ton of passives we have now and 30 second cooldown on plague signet ( i think the dev forgot to read what that utility actually does before decrasing its cooldown by 50%)
BUT this patch reminds some boiz what is what. Necro have been hardcounter to engi since release, mechanic wise and overall counter to other condi classes but with the dawn of the planet of the celestial apes some had forgotten it.
Necro is to engi what thief is (or maybe now was) to mesmer and to other condi classes what thief is to other zerkers.
Its over the top atm but now when engi cant recklessly run in 1v1 against necro its kinda how its supposed to be.

It’s simple necros whole prof is balanced around having life force so remove the rare situations where we have 0 life force.
This thread irks me. I know necro is in a pretty crappy place right now, but I do not think passive life force regen makes sense / is the answer. The whole point of life force is to take it from other things. So you absorb it through deaths around you or by directly attacking objects/enemies and taking it from them. The only thing I could see making sense is sacrificing your own health to gain life force, if you wanted to do it “out of combat”.
I never have been under the impression that life force is hard to build anyway. If anything I just find the lack of kiting ability on necros to be abhorrent. Compared to other classes, the options are extremely limited. That is what needs to be fixed.
Ye draining life force from boxes in kyhlo makes a lot of sense.
But yes sacrificing HP for life force could be solution too but if you can do it out of combat then whats the point you are gonna instantly regen HP anyway.
Of course its all simple and easy. Need life force stay back and dps corpse instead of rotating where you are supposed to go, dont have enough life force to engage 1v1 just dont engage, cant get to team cause thief instantly jumps you and you got no LF to deal with him? Just call the team to you…. There is always a god kitten solution, the thing is that the need for these gimmicky solutions is what makes necro bad in PVP. Necro doesnt bring anything that amazing to team for them to actually bothering with this handicapped class.

Improving death shroud and making it less RNG is not solution to all class problems but it would help tremendously.

I already shared this idea like year ago, but with GS coming up and not having range autoattack aka no reliable life force generation i mentioned this idea here and there and some necro asked me to suggest again.
So basicly necro can never be serious PVP class because we are too reliant on class mechanic which is very RNG in pvp.
If you have 100% life force every fight then you are almost OP if 0% then you are underpowered. The problems comes from the fact that life force amount depends too much on factors that necro cant affect.
If enemy team has mesmer its easy to get lifeforce cause staff auto is gonna hit clones, if its kyhlo match you can just get lifeforce on boxes easy. If enemy team has double thief you are gonna be preassured every time you enter combat and basicly will have no life force most of time, same with ranger.
So the thing is that if necro could enter every fight with 50% life force the class would be good, something like cutting life force from 20 k to 10 k and letting it regenerate out of combat would make it good for PVP, with skills letting you get extra life force inside combat. Or keep the amount as it is but let it regenerate to 20% so we can at least engage and get more LF with other skills

ufokinritem8 When the game came out i was doing kyhlo 24/7 in hotjoin cause i love that map, under pvp statistics it was my favourite map for 2 years, now with this ranked voting thing it has changed to legacy of foefire… which i hate.
They should put all maps in voting for ranked to decrase the chance of getting same map all the time. If in past 2 years they would have made more than 1 “competetive” map then i would understand why we have to choose between 3 but there are only 4 in total.
I wouldnt mind playing unshranked but i always go back to ranked when i get c*ntyard
Finished my 17 hour stream and all i could think about afterwards is that i need shower, but in shower only thing in my mind was how much time i wasted not doing anything at all.
With my bad math im gonna be positive about que/game times so lets say average que is 5 min and game is 10 min, it makes that i spent at least 5 hours just staring at my monitor and waiting for que pop.
Before i streamed it was possible to fill these gaps with powerfaps but not like i can do it when people are watching. I understand that if there would be anything to do between ques noone would watch me playing but still FIVE HOUUUUURS. Big problem for everyone who plays 15+ hours daily, please look into this.

Sometimes there is things you wanna say to your friends that you dont want/cant whisper to them.
For example i got different groups of people who i pvp with and instead of whispering 5+ people and waiting for replies i could just change my status to “invite if doing pvp” and go on my buisiness.
inb4 some hater says “this aint no facebook”… of course this aint facebook cause you actually have friends here, but it still would be helpful to a lot of people.

There was big balance patch last december then nothing happened for 4 months until april, now its 8 months since that patch.
On 2nd day after april patch i logged in and thought that engi passive burn, air + fire stack, celestial, SD thiefs, passive fear necros are complete **** and should be nerfed now after 8 months nothing has been done about it.
Stop caring about balance changes just play the game if you like it, and be ready to adjust to the meta if you want to be on top, anet just shifts meta 2x per year and thats it.
For a minor change to happen outside of those 2 per year balance patches whole community need to spam forums for at least few months which is not that often tbh (rune of strength for example).
Ye since the april patch you can clearly see how NA has “improved” their rotations.
You know playing that “effective” 3 point game where they tunnel far mid and constantly go back to cap their close point.
Lets not even talk about that amazing coordinated burst they have when for example helseth used portal got hit by nade ported out instantly and still almost died to incendiary powder.

This is preposterous. Everyone knows its either 137 boiz or you get put on farm status.
The track gives 7+ guaranteed golds if you sell the bags on trading post, if im not wrong it gives more gold than any other track and 20 slot bag + tomes of knowledge. So the track is quite good for those who always whine how they get no gold for PVP.

Its like 3rd season on WvW 2nd season of PVE and not a single season of PVP. WHAT THE TIGER!
Reset leaderboard put it on 8 week timer, stamp golden/silver/bronze dolyaks on one of your generic back items continue with all that zoo you got up to dragon BOOM 16 months of competition provided, a reason to at least join some que! This system would be so simple and bad that noone would even guess that it wasnt anets idea.
Of course there is those massive PVP tournaments that get almost as many views as some ginger chopping wood in runescape but its just an illusion cause none of top teams ever play teamque seriously and noone tries to get good at teamque, people dont form teams to play the game they form teams to play ESL weekly etc. And thats sad very very sad.
Feels like PVP is community are some apes for anet that just sit in cage running circles till they are needed for entertainment and are put in some half baked tournament.
Every single game out there makes tournaments for top teams to compete we need month of tournaments to even figure out who are top teams from the people we have left cause ingame top players sit in mists trying to figure out best way to color their gear while PVP is played only by newbies who still havent figured out that leaderboard doesnt give you anything at all.

Basicly my old build just with close to death instead of dhuumfire, even tho i played with dhuumfire in first weeks of patchthe meta has evolved in bunkerish condi cleaning meta so close to death better, in sPVP i kinda now run with well of power instead of spectral walk, not as cool skill but more useful overall.
My 6th movie got deleted cause of song so i rerendered it with different song and changed few effects nothing special, hope you enjoy it. Almost nothing new for those who watched the original.

There are no rules but starting with 100% would be completely unfair, imo already above 20% is faceroll but 30% might be acceptable too, half of what takes skill about necro is life force management, if you can just start with 100% then its just braindead duel lol, you dont need to consider life force traits, utilities, use skills appropriately, you can just straight in run in and faceroll anyone in 1v1…
0 life force is unfair tho, cause good necro never is without life force, so 20-30% should be norm cause thats with what you normally start in PVP.
You can add
Necromancer – Chill of death and lich form for power necro. Signet of spite, reapers protection, nightmare runes for condi necro.
And deathshroud needs redesign not nerf.
If you add stuff about other classes and not necro then it just looks like whining.

This is structured PVP forum, you understand that you can be unable to kill anyone in 1v1 (even tho thief is probobly best 1v1 class) and still be overpowered in spvp?
Its so overpowered that we have this dumb kitten bunker meta, cause noone can play zerker without getting rekt by thiefs. (i mean overall ofcourse)
And its amusing how thiefs whine about bunker meta when they are reason behind it.

The problem with the OP is the definition of skill is very narrow. A warrior often thinks there is no skill getting crushed from range. Range think there is no skill face rolling in close combat. Etc. Etc.
AI is not mindless at all. A turret engineer, a MM and a ranger require you really know what you are doing to do it well. They are also easy to counter.
Skill is such a relative term. I play an engineer with 3-4 kits. I wonder if I have to be more “skilled” than a player who only has 2 weapons and a couple utilities. (Play other classes so the answer is no). It is just a different type of skill mate.
If I could like this 1,000 times I would. 10,000 even.
Every time I died to a backstabbing thief, I would say that required no skill. They pop out of nowhere, boom boom and I’m dead. So then I gave one a try and failed miserably. After an hour of not getting my intended results, I had to start to admit that there might be more to this than I thought.
I watch other Engineers flounder with their turret builds; I have no problem killing people with them and never have, but I also have over 1,000 gameplay hours devoted entirely to my turret engineer only, using nothing else. Knowing when to drop them, how to drop them, and when to pop their overloads are a HUGE part of the equation.
When I see people sit there and say “it requires no skill” now, after I spent literally hundreds of hours perfecting my gameplay using the build that before was called completely worthless, is a little perturbing.
I know I shouldn’t care, but it’s somewhat annoying to be stuck in a weird place where you suck if you win, and you suck if you lose… all because 1 or 2 people on forums don’t know how to counter a build once it gets buffed.
Honestly- I can’t wait until they nerf turrets again. I got used to them when they were garbage, and I liked using an unnoticed build and winning with something that wasn’t supposed to be usable.
Maybe turret engi takes so little skill that even backstab thief seemed hard to you in comparison…

I keep hearing about this “legendary” Sizer character. I’m sure he is quite good, but how would anybody know? I never see him streaming. He doesn’t have any past broadcasts saved on Twitch. And I don’t see any youtube videos of him wrecking people. How on Earth does anybody see him play?

Off hand pistol requires much more management of your initiative and s/p is the most initiative heavy spec in the game, also none of these other specs would work without points in critical strikes.
Pistolwhip got overnerfed and DP is such a joke it should never be meta spec, oh the competetiveness of getting bursted from stealth… and s/p already works better with 2/0/0/6/6 than 2/6/0/0/6. And why d/p s/p plays with 2/6/0/0/6 and not 2/6/0/6/0 if acrobatics is bigger problem than trickery?
It has nothing to do with weapon set beeing OP, its about multiple things that all sum up, like PW beeing overnerfed, acrobatics beeing good, trickery beeing over the top and critical strikes beeing nothing special.

It has something to do with transfers so necros experience this bug alot more than any other class.
And yes just last week i lost a soloq game 100% just because of this bug.
But i normally call it stuck bug so people dont confuse it with the bug that you dodge while immobilized… #espawtbugz
