Im just glad that SoS map chat is usually fun whenever the commanders are around. having commanders that know how to work humor into their strategies are able to make people follow their leads better. if you can go online when SoS is most active, the chats are so funny that it motivates you to stay in wvw even if you’re losing

illusionary disenchanter is the worst among your options. as of now, his summon range is around 300 and often fails to spawn because of this LoS bull anet pulled on us mesmers. Avoid it at all costs.

I like how WvWvW unites everyone in a server. All are equal in wvw! Except charrs, sylvari and asuras who are obviously inferior. Calling all SoS able-bodied human males, ages 16 to 40, are able to take arms and are white, please proceed to WvW. Your server needs you. Those who do not qualify are free to give donations instead. Norns are just humans who eat and drink more.

For the first few days of wvw after we won, SoS participation really dropped (literally no commanders on sight). There is no excuse for that, it just happened. Anyway, I’m glad that SBI are bringing it this week.. I hope JQ goes all out too.

Ok, if I’m gunning for a shatter-centric build with a mainhand sword+offhand focus, is it imperative to take focus mastery? because as of now I’m using:

10 domi (mw 20%)
20 duel (sword mastery+deceptive evasion)
10 inspi (vigor every shatter)
30 illu (persona, damage per illu and mind wrack damage)

As for the alternate weapon, Im still not sure whether staff or sword will benefit this build more.

for runes I use Superior sigils of energy on both weapon set (swapping has a cd of 9 sec IIRC) so i always get the 50% vigor every swap (or is this overkill even on a shatter build?) although i must admit, having tons of endurance via vigor and the sigil gives me a lot of room to maximize IP and of course survivability/

Alright thanks for the tips! I do want to get the offhand reflect so im going 20 inspi, for inspi 10 I get vigor with shatter..

for shatter (because phantasm traits atm are bugged imho) ill go 20 dueling (to get deceptive clones) 10 domi (for MW damage) and 20 illu for shatter recharge? is it viable? staff and sword/focus with berserker equips

thanks for the suggestion, although i have to ask, is it a good idea to run a shatter build without going deep (30) illusions? as for my alternate weapon, should i go GS or Staff?

Much respect for SBI! Awesome battles! SoS is seriously lacking her commanders today? Commanders shouldn’t get any rest imho. Ever.

I want the minstrel because of the bird design. I’m still very hopeful that it will get graphical upgrades in the future too. Maybe some feather trails or something :p

whenever i engage an SBI or JQ adversary I make it a point to bow or salute after because they always give me one heck of a fight. im having so much fun on wvw now because of the community.

I have nothing but utmost respect for SBI and JQ. I’m sure everyone (that matters) in SoS knows we haven’t even seen the true strength of SBI and JQ. I sure am eager to learn more about WvW from you guys. See you in the battlefield!

Found another bug… Illusionary Whaler? (Trident Phantasm) deals damage like a clone (around 20 while my other water phantasm deals 1.4k++) >_<

Which is completely stupid. That’s like making Dragon’s Tooth fail just because your target blocked while casting or making Death Blossom fail to cast because your target had aegis.

The problem is they aren’t like regular skills. Not only does it function like a pet summon, many of them function like targeted AoEs which don’t normally don’t completely fail as an AoE just because your target avoided it. It’s still a functional AoE and it’s still a pet summon so both of these things should have been considered and weren’t.

Please elaborate how a skill can function as a targeted AoE and yet not be a targeted AoE. Dragon’s Tooth and Death Blossom are both single target AoEs and yet they will still deal damage to nearby enemies regardless of blind/block.

death blossom = 3 hits = 3 blinds/blocks to negate
the skill for phantasmal berserker = 1 hit = 1 blind to negate

But that’s not how it works. They function as AoEs so they are not affected by blind.
iZerker hits three times in a single button press just like Death Blossom so by that logic it should take three blinds to stop it. Dragons Tooth and Death Blossom are just two examples of skills that function as targeted AoEs, there are many more that work exactly the same way.

my mistake for thinking a single target sword throw that creates an illusion that can aoe is different than 3 dagger hits, it’s almost as if every class has different skills!

Yep practically in front of me, only on an elevated surface because of a ramp. after i walked up the ramp and was at the same height at the monster (and thus close enough for melee), i was able to summon the phantasm.

This LoS crap on conjuring phantasms is really buggy. Sometimes, a slightly elevated enemy (such as on a ramp) will show [obstructed].

I tested it and it’s more like 300-450. Illusionary Leap is 600 range, and I couldn’t summon the Disenchanter from the same range.

Yea i just noticed the bug while doing AC so the 600 was just more like a generous estimation. Still, it sucks that our phantasms seems to be kittened up more than before. ANyway has anyone tried using phantasmal haste yet? How has it changed?

When we’re good (IE against mobs with projectiles) we are really good. When we’re bad, we’re the worst.

Ok I’ve noticed that the Superior Rune of the Pack’s on hit effect ONLY affects PEOPLE WITH rune of the packs also. That is so annoying!

It’s so boring if all i can do now to earn roughly the same amount of gold for the same amount of time is stand and look at the market buying and selling stuff. :/ i wanna know a good way to earn as much in the same amount of time so that I can get my exotic set and do the things I really want after. :/

Ok thanks I’ll try doing hearts again. I just felt it was so tedious and slow doing heart quests to get exotics than grinding CoF but I’ma give it another try.

For the record :

Exotic armor in general is around 3.5g a piece
So that’s around 14 runs of CoF @ 26s per run, but you can easily get 3.5g @ 10-12 runs including drops and Gate of Flame event.
For a full set, you’d need ~60 runs

Lowest piece of exotic armor (Flame Legion) is 180 tokens which is 9 runs of CoF @ 20 tokens per run. You need 1380 for a full set which is ~70 runs.

Now take into account Armor repair. Let’s say ~3-4 runs you need to repair @ ~10.5s per repair.

If you are going for Exotic Gear:( (350s x 6 ) + (10.5s x 15)) / 26 = ~90 runs @ 26s
If you are going for Flame Legion Exotic in tokens: 1380/20 = ~70 runs @ 20 token
Flame Legion set effectively costs : 70 × 26s = 18.2g
In terns of gold, Flame Legion average per piece would then be : 18.2g/6 = 3g
However, including repair costs, Flame Legion set would then be : 18.2g + (10.5s x 18) = 20g 9s
Then the average Flame Legion piece would be : 20g 9s / 6 = 3.35g

Flame Legion exotic set : 20g 9s
General exotic set : 21g

So instead of farming dungeons the old way to get the same equipment at roughly the same amount of time what does one have to do? :/ I just want my exotic set nao so that I can do the things that I want after. I know it doesn’t make that much of a difference but I’m just like that.

CoF made for a way to earn silver by doing things over and over. It was a method that a lot of people were willing to employ. Grinding for silver via Dungeon runs should be a viable way of earning gold. Tokens should be worth silver if you want us to keep on doing it.

C’mon Anet I’m a huge GW2 fanboy and even I am not having fun with the current dungeon set up at all. I can’t even get people to play with me on CoF even if they’re hard im willing to do it but the cost of running dungeons now is just so ridiculous.

Meh just up the token rewards and we’ll maybe consider doing dungeons. maybe.
