I’m interested in what kind of personal rewards we would be getting from it. I hope it isn’t too gamebreaking that people in huge guilds are the only one who are able to acquire stuff that would end up having an advantage over the smaller ones. Such as ascended equipments.

Got a wife, a proper job, I play whenever I feel like it, I simply enjoy accomplishing goals I set for myself, and know how to properly manage my time, rather than waste it killing mobs or farming dungeons.

Well if you’ve got a good tip on how to make so much gold it’ll help lessen so much qq everywhere about them? At least I would. Really, I was able to make 1 legendary and it took me so much time and effort and I’m happy with it but to make 4 I feel requires a lot of good luck if it is from MF. Or it just means you play the TP well, and as per my previous comment about it, both reasons are kinda antitheses to what a legendary should be. It should connote a sense of how well you are as a player, not as a businessman or something.

This is my point exactly at my last post. Legendaries should hold enough prestige that we shouldn’t be gearing towards several just to be impressive. 1 Legendary should be enough to make one feel legendary. Would it have been better if Legendaries were locked at 1 per character? (or 2 at most)
Does the bouquet give you skills for brawling?
Do higher level fotm reward people with a better chance to get precursors? If so, then I completely agree with the OP.

Yea the process by which we can get legendaries right now doesn’t feel legendary at all. I want prestige but currently, people who wield more than 1 legendary seems to be perceived more as just ‘rich’ (TP players) than skilled. Thus, it doesn’t seem that glorified to see them have 3 or 4. Most people would simply dismiss you as a ‘rich boy’ or a ‘TP player’ or just very very lucky than genuinely impressed or awed.
Legendaries don’t really bring the ‘wow!’ factor that it should based on its description at the moment imho.

I know legendaries are only for prestige, but by now, I don’t think 1 is enough to be considered truly ‘legendary’ anymore. If just for renown, how many legendaries do you plan on making? I’m leaning towards making another one but the grind for those mats and precursor is so tedious I dunno if I have the patience for it.
I think Sword+Focus (or Pistol)/Scepter+Sword is perfect for a hybrid shantasm build. Depending on the weapon set, the gameplay changes drastically (in theory). I’ve been very interested in developing a Sword+Offhand/Scepter+Offhand build for my mesmer just because of its uniqueness. Perhaps its versatility is underestimated at the moment.

THe only thing I don’t want to do in other MMO’s is to take a very long time to get the final stats for equipments. In GW2 we have a relatively easier access on getting the exotic stats we want and then play whatever content we really enjoy. For me, it’s usually guild vs guild, which this game doesn’t have. So I’m just working on another legendary for now. Until playing well becomes a bit more glamorized in wvw or PvE areas. WvW doesn’t hold much recognition for really good players. Only commanders get to have renowned. I’d rather have my achievements recognizable by other servers too. If they’d only put character names instead of the generic “server invader” it would hold much more value to me.

Hey is it true Patone is back? :O That’s great news! Now all we need is Kurthos and Jedahs back to motivate SOS again into fighting shape. I haven’t been doing wvw recently coz I’m at least a month shy of making my 2nd legendary. No time to waste! LOL
I know there isn’t too much The Minstrel out there for sure. So I’m happy with mine. About to craft my bolt in a month or so too. By then I can finally stick to wvw
Mantras are lackluster unless traited. I am currently running a full berserker gear (with Runes of Divinity) Phantasm build with Mantra of Healing for support and I still am able to heal around 2.7k+ per cast of Mantra of Pain. I am also using the trait that gives 250 toughness while casting a mantra so that charge isn’t exactly a waste of time. This is a full berserker build so Mantra of Pain is able to dish out around 2k crit (on heavy armored) while I heal for every charge of pain. My phantasms also deal a hell of a lot of damage.

The Cathedral of Silence, also known as the Shrine of the Reapers, is the first temple of Grenth ever built. Of all temples in Orr, it is the most structurally stable after the Cataclysm, due to the crypts built into it. Along with this, it has been corrupted the least, though Zhaitan’s risen minions still utilize its powers as they do the other temples of Orr.

On Orr there are statues of the six gods which have been corrupted by Zhaitan’s influence. Each statue has an AoE (Area of Effect) status that negatively affects players if that gods respective temple is not in the players control or if said temple is contested.
When contested, statues of the corresponding god become corrupted in Orr. This takes the form of a green veil marking the area and confers a negative effect on any player within it.
It can be interpreted however we want, but what I take from these personally is that the power of a god residing within structures are merely ‘utilized’ by the one in control of it. It isn’t exactly corruptible, as it is more ‘malleable/flexible’ of sorts. It has been stated that the gods has been increasingly absent from Tyria, and what I think happened is that the magic these statues possess are residual and thus aren’t connected to the god itself anymore.
Again, I believe that a severed tie from a god causes their magic to go rogue or something. It is manipulated by Zhaitan because of their absence. The closer [favored] an object/person is to a particular god, the more resistant it/he/she becomes against corruption. If you think about it, it kinda shows that at LEAST a god’s power is equal to Zhaitan’s.

The question is, will the stats revert back to P/V/T when the ascended stats are added?
Maybe they’ll implement ways to change the legendary stats without having to transmute? I just want my transmuted legendary to get the update it deserves once ascended weapons are introduced, regardless of stats they decide to put.

My assumption is yes. Otherwise, what’s the point of telling the players that transmuted legendaries currently being demoted to exotic is a bug? They seem to want to preserve the legendary status, and should be treated equally among the other non-transmuted legendaries.
The patch notes clearly indicates that the higher rarity of the two transmuted items will be preserved, thus a transmuted legendary should still be legendary regardless of the stats you decided to take.

I run AC 1 2 3 and COF 1 and 2 everyday. These 2 dungeons I make sure to run daily, then I go do some more dungeons if I can after but I can’t manage to make that much gold that fast..

I think we can assume that the fact that Anet considers this a bug that they DO plan on making transmutation of legendaries viable. I suppose it should calm those of us who are worried we might not get the upgrade we deserve because we transmuted our legendary based on the notion that it will preserve the legendary status as implied by the patch notes.

It was my birthday last January 29th and I thought I was gonna get the update that my Minstrel deserves but no! So you shouldn’t get anything too!
This is my point: People think that these statues being corrupted mean that the gods themselves are corruptible when in fact, these statues may or may not bear the blessing of the god it is attribute to if (my assumption) people do nothing significant to gain their favor during that time. By doing the DE, we are able to gain their favor and these statues become active. What I’m trying to say is that when the ties to the particular god is severed, his or her servants or relics CAN be corrupted, but only because of the absence of the favor of the god, not in spite of having it.
SOS is not fighting to her full potential this week, this much is obvious. Reasons are varied, for our guild, we are getting some well-deserved rest. If we are going to give JQ the match they deserve, then we should be at our peak as well, and apparently it’s been a consensus that this isn’t the week to do so.
We can all claim that our server has the best community. The fact that we defend our servers vehemently in the forums says a lot about loyalty. But the people who are able to take a step back and be objective in the way they respond and carry their server’s name are the ones that are truly admirable.
It’s the statues that I’m referring to, not the priest(esse)s themselves.
Those statues clearly retain some element of divine power. The effect of each statue, when active, is related to the power of the god it used to represent. If the effects of the statues were not a corruption of divine power within the shrines and cathedrals, Zhaitan would not be restricted to only generating these effects within a certain distance of the statues, nor would capturing the cathedrals neutralise the statues – instead, Zhaitan would be able to generate the effects of the statues wherever and whenever he wanted.
On the sylvari being placed specifically to counter the dragons – that’s hypothesised, but we don’t know that. The observation that the sylvari are immune to corruption and the Forgotten can make things that are resistant to corruption is suggestive of who might have placed them if they were, but it could all still be coincidence.
Ah but those statues, even in GW1, had to have the favor of the gods to be activated.

These are large structures unique to each god. For example, Balthazar’s statue is of himself in an upright pose, holding a sword. Melandru’s statue is a tree. These statues change depending on whether the world has the Favor of the Gods or not. When you do, Balthazar’s statue is on fire; when the favor of the Gods is not currently owned by your home, it is a plain rock statue. Melandru’s statue will be alive, with running water and be in blossom when you have the favor, and will be a dead plant when you do not.
Let’s also take into consideration what the actual description of an altar is like in the game:

well if I understand it correctly, the forgotten who are linked to the power of the human gods are able to use magic that the elder dragons cannot corrupt so I say it’s an indication that gods cannot be eaten by them.
It’s shown in Orr that Zhaitan can corrupt divine power, though. The Forgotten are allied and possibly to some extent empowered by the gods, but whatever their technique for protecting against and cleansing draconic corruption, it appears to be something connected to them than to the gods as a whole.
Otherwise the gods could have passed it on to humans and Orr’s statues and other defences and saved us all a lot of trouble.
This does make me wonder about the sylvari origins, though…
I feel like the corrupted priests and statues are actually abandoned, that their ties to the human gods are already severed thus they can be influenced by the dragons. There is one specific quest (that Ascalonian relic that still bears some residual magic) was used to turn our character into a powerful Avatar of Balthazar that was able to decimate an army of Risen. What I think is that the links of the gods to tyria may have weakened, and thus the elder dragons were able to corrupt most of their followers. But seeing as those still blessed by a god’s power in one way or another, are used to overcome a predicament presented by the dragon implies that the gods and elder dragons do not have such a huge disparity in power.
As far as any official statement regarding the comparison:
The cataclysms that tore apart the land and flooded Lion’s Arch were not caused by natural forces, no more than were the earthquakes that freed the Destroyers in the northern Shiverpeaks. These were both caused by the surfacing of ancient powers—true dragons, more dangerous than anything Tyria has ever known before. Glint and Kuunavang were but youths, lesser powers to the ancients that came before. These mystic and terrifying creatures rival the gods themselves.
What i think is, the gods growing distant from tyria is more like a consequence, rather than a result of the dragon’s awakening. The forgotten are able to resist the dragon’s magic just because they are closer to them than perhaps we humans are.

Yea that should be answered too coz a lot of people thought that transmuting legendaries now got fixed. :/ meh seems like it hasn’t.
