Additional comments: thinking for new server i have been searching for social people but i think they are not there lol :-) so any suggestions pls do
I would for sure say Isle of Janthir. We are a very friendly bunch. However, being part of the guild in general will get chatty. We do that.
@messup – IoJ does have some lovely people on it
but just so you know (as Ruins is an EU) server, that IoJ is an NA server so depending on what time zone you are in you may find that you overlap with the NA players or it seems quieter when you play.
However, a lot of the NA servers have oceanic players on them and they would probably be online at the same time as an EU player. You could always try it for a week and see.
If you’re looking for EU servers we have members on a few, the predominate ones being (I think) Aurora Glade and Gunnar’s Hold.
Anyway, welcome and I look forward to chatting with you in game
Google docs has a form option which we could probably use for people to request an invite and provide some information about themselves (server, game preferences, etc). A collated version of this could be available for people to see others on their server, etc. I’m happy to have a play around with this if you like?
There’s usually karma vendors (renown heart NPC) who sells one tool of the level for that map. So, the first heart you may do will sell the appropriate sickle, further up the map you complete another heart and can buy a logging axe, etc. There are also some (definitely in the lower level maps) who sell 15 crude salvage kits for karma, I can’t remember if these increase in quaility as you travel to higher maps.
Here’s a list you can check agains, regional NPCs are linked at the bottom of the page.

Thanks Hurrakan, I didn’t realise that other people could participate in your own personal story instances
Yep, they get an option to follow you into an instance if they are in party with you – much like when entering a dungeon. If you are in a guild maybe ask around to see who still has this chapter to do, or ask in map chat around LA.
As far as I’m aware explorer titles don’t count towards 100% world completion, they only count toward the regional explorer achievements. I have seen posts from people who have received their rewards for 100% completion but have still got explorer areas outstanding.
Thanks, time for someone to have a post-adolescent growth spurt
Can anyone confirm if you can change a character’s height with the total makeover kit – my poor human thief is mocked by dwarves wherever he goes
Just to double check Helequin, have you checked in the Guild Panel to see if the Legion is there as a guild for you to represent? I’m not sure it sends you a specific invite/mail (I can’t remember…must be my age!). To access your Guild Panel just press G in game.
…I can’t seem to catch Lexy online for the life of me to get a guild invite.
A thousand apologies Helequin, I thought I/we was up-to-date with all the requests so I’m sorry if I missed yours. Hopefully one of my much more competent colleagues should be able to send you an invite, I am not in game this evening
The guild itself is called The Legion of Honour (not Operation:Union), just so you can recognise us when it comes through. Sorry again and hope to see you in Tyria soon.
Sorry to break it to you but they are all in different temples (Cathedrals) which are spread over the three maps of Orr. I would suggest you use the wiki to locate the specific set you want (if you only want bits from one set) and then head down there. When you get onto the map have a look to see if the cathedral is contested, if it is do a shout out in chat to see if you can get a group together to take it back.
Make sure you have the karma you need before heading down there. Orr isn’t that bad when you get used to it, but its always a good idea to have a plan.
Edit: Try this link, under exotic karma armor. These vendors sell other things too so be sure to check their vendor lists in case there’s anything else you want when you get down there

Did you pick up both of the new poi’s in LA – one by Fractals entrance, one by the ship to Southsun? I know you said you’ve been to the OoW Cave but have you been in both ways (entrance from Bloodtide/Asura Gate from Fort Trinity)?
Crafting from 0-400 can give you at least 10 levels (more if you are using crafting xp boosters). So if you get two crafts on your character to 400 you could get 20 levels.
Hey Nels, when you get to Gunnar’s Hold give me a shout – we can go out exploring or dungeoning or whatever
Thanks Glitch (wearer of the hair-clip
) There have been a lot of different dungeon experiences reported on this thread and other posts in the forum, both good and bad, and I suppose that is why I’ve put it off for so long.
I’m happy to report that mine was a great experience, loads of fun, good leadership (nice one boss) and good communication. I came out of the whole thing with about 30s after I sold all the loot and drops, and I would have had about 8s repair costs if I hadn’t used a repair cannister.
Sign me up for explore mode, happy to take a few shortcuts if you want a speedier run
Anyone one on EU want to lead a CM story sometime? That’s next in line for my dungeon conquering exploits…
Doggy bag give away! Hi All, I have quite a lot of food items clogging up my bank space – all generated in getting my chef up to 400. If anyone would like a few items (if only for the useful +10 exp on kills) please msg me in game. Let me know the level range of any characters you have and I will try to provide appropriate items.
Sorry, but magic find items probably won’t be included as I have a tendency to eat those
I’m just glad you got there in the end – shame about the lost silver though.
It might be possible to check against this from within your map, without having to travel round revisiting them all. It seems to have been updated recently, maybe that will show where the change has happened?
Are they waypoint or POI’s? I only ask because two new poi’s were added to LA with the Lost Shores patch.
Of course you can join, we are called The Legion of Honour. When you’ve downloaded the game just post your details in that thread above and one of us will send you an invite. Let us know what server you pick too, we might be able to hook you up with others on there for some local support
I’m on Gunnar’s Hold and will be on tomorrow if you decide to set up home there, but we have a good spread of members on other servers.
Hi there
Gunnar’s Hold is a great server, mainly english speaking and friendly. Other good ones are Aurora Glade and also Piken Square which is the unofficial EU roleplaying server.
If you are looking for a nice group of people I belong to a cross server guild, which is great for chat and EU-EU or NA-NA support in dungeons. We all await the day that Server guesting is implemented so we can actually meet! You can check us out here, it is a bit of a wall of text but the first post should sum it up for you
Edit: Other excellent EU servers are available – those were just the one’s I could remember off the top of my head
Only owning the cultural armours count towards an achievement at the moment.
You’ll have to make sure you keep the piece around if you plan to transmute it in the future. There is no wardrobe feature where, once owned, they are available whenever.
lfg should be in there too.
That’s the pit fighters armour and its available for Karma from various vendors in the regions listed at the bottom of this link. It progbably won’t be called pit fighters in the vendors list, I think that is its PvP name.
http://www.gw2armor.com/human/male/k2/heavy/display_looks.php
Edit: the link says that it can also be crafted but I don’t have any armour-smithing experience so maybe someone else can give more details.
Are you sure that just because your thief read the recipe that it is not known across all your characters now? I thought any character could read it and then it would be known across your account rather than being soulbound. I’m kind of sad if this isn’t the case because I’ve bought and read a few recipes for alts and now I’ll have to go back and buy them again
I’m fairly sure it’s the Pit Fighters set that is available from Karma sellers (from a variety of regions) – this link has some more information, if you scroll down to the bottom.
http://www.gw2armor.com/asura/male/k2/heavy/display_looks.php
Completing the stages of your personal story also give nice chunks of XP and I wouldn’t put off crafting. Unless you plan to buy mats off the TP you can’t achieve level 400 without already being at level 70-80 so you can harvest Tier 6 mats from places like Frostgorge, Southsun and Orr.
After you complete the starter zones you should have more than enough mats to craft through the first and maybe the second tiers of your chosen crafts.
The little hearts pop up when someone triggers your field or when you have used a finisher on someone elses. They are notifications rather than instructions
This is also a really good guide to help you get your head around all the top end gear.
This should help you match up recipes with the stat’s you’re looking for.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Insignia
So, for example, you want to be making insignia labelled as ‘Explorer’ to put into your magic find gear and maybe the Beserker ones for your precision/power set.
Yes I read your whole post, but read it as two seperate issues – hence the reason I only quoted back the first part. You are right, they should finish the instance first. I apologise to the OP if she did miss out on this, but as her friend is on a different server after all, hopefully she will have stuck around and completed that first bit.

I would not advice going to the Heart of the Mists at level 1!
Why on earth not? It’s only to use it as an asura gate junction to LA, you literally have to run 10 feet (past the trainer) to get into the LA gate directly opposite. You don’t go near any combat or anything – perfectly safe. And you are scaled up to level 80 for the milli-seconds you are there anyway.
(edited by Lexy.3912)
It is definetely listed as a jeweller item here , so perhaps the mystic forge is not involved at all. Not meaning to patronise, but you are a level 400 jeweller aren’t you? If you have not reached this level yet you will be unable to craft this recipe.
http://www.guildwars2guru.com/
Edit: I see from the comment posted at the link above from Katz that you do need to ‘find’ the recipe first (as an AC drop) and then you will be able to craft it at the jewellers. Looks like you’ll have to keep framing AC until it drops for you
(edited by Lexy.3912)
Thanks for linking this, I hadn’t received an email with this like some players seemed to. And, as Ighten Hill says, there’s plenty of places for you to leave more information or to clarify your answers.
Is it worth spending Karma on the low lvl gear that we find on the diferent merchants during our leveling progression p.p?
Not really, you tend to get better stuff given to you for completing stages of your personal story, or as loot drops. The only reason I would buy low level karma gear would be if I liked the look and thought I would use it as a skin for higher level gear.
I would assume that ‘unlock’ means that you have to have the recipe and consume/read it before you can make the item. I don’t know whether it is the recipe that is supposed to drop from the dungeon boss or whether it is purchasable from a vendor (like other crafting recipes).
Hello again
You should be able to switch to your friends server but you will need to find a time when the population shifts from Full to High. This tends to happen at off peak times and it can be a case of just checking all the time, or setting your alarm clock for the small hours of the morning!
Some servers, such as Tarnished Coast (the main unoffical role-play server) or those which are topping the WvW leaderboard can be harder to get onto than others.
(edited by Lexy.3912)
It’s intended, these high level nodes respawn once a day (or after an update
)
No, travelling this way is free
Yes, that’s possible. The quickest way is to travel through the Heart of the Mists into Lion’s Arch and then through an asura gate there into the home city of your friend’s race. The first area outside of a home city is always the starter level for the race.
To get to the Heart of the Mists, click the crossed sword icon on the top left of your screen and select the travel option – you’ll see a pink swirly gate across from you when you arrice, this takes you to Lion’s Arch. Whenyou arrive in LA look for 5 swirly gates just off to the side of the main plaza, these are the gatef or the five home cities. Standing by each gate are two ‘guards’ from the race that the city belongs to (e.g. 2 Charr, 2 sylvari, etc) this indicates which city the gate goes to.
Edit: you will need to make sure that you and your friend are playing on the same server for this to work.
There has been a promise of a guesting feature, which everyone assumes will allow you to play on any server temporarily – but no idea when this is coming in or what it will look like.
Here is a handy guide…
http://dulfy.net/2012/11/17/gw2-ascended-gear-and-infusion-recipes/
There’s guidance on how to get this at the bottom of this page, it’s purchased from WvW Armour vendor, not Karma vendor.
http://www.gw2armor.com/human/female/wvw/medium/display.php
I don’t actually know if you can wear it in a PvE environment once you’ve bought it, I would presume so, but maybe someone else can verify that for you.
(edited by Lexy.3912)
You can also change skills through the Hero interface (H) – select the skills section from the choices on the left-hand side and it shows you all purchased ans none purachased skills. You can swap them around in that screen.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Pirate_weapon
Aparently they are not sold by that character anymore (it was updated after beta) – this link says they are sold by First Mate Shane at the end of one of the LA jumping puzzles. Hope this helps.
Hi there, I would be happy to spend some time farming mobs with you if you need to clear up to get your mats, exactly the same way I would help people get vistas or skill points. However, I won’t just give stuff (of that value) away to someone because they need it to get their endgame. If you want your legendary you need to farm it like the rest of us, even though it may be frustrating.
Hey, happy for anyone to add me as a friend – Much like EndlessDreamer, if I’m partied up for a reason I may not be able to relocate to help, but if it’s a question I can answer then absolutely no probs.
Also, I just wanted to say that this is also true for anyone you see on the Operation:Union thread – we will help out any time and anyone we can, you don’t need to be part of our guild. We really only guild together so we can communicate in game easier
Server: Gunner’s Hold (EU)
Class: Elementalist (80) plus a few alts – my main is called Tulaah
Service: Anything/anywhere PvE if I’m online and not already committed to another group. I’m just wetting my feet in WvW so not sure how much help I’ll be…
Time: Several weekday evenings 6pm-11pm and most weekends (GMT)
Whisper if you send me a party invite so I know why you’re asking
Sorry, from previous posts of people looking for this ‘hat’ I understand that although the rest of the set is available in PvE the hat apparently is not.
Ok then, use this link.
https://eu.support.guildwars2.com/app/ask/session/L3RpbWUvMTM1MzQ0NTE3OC9zaWQvVlNFZk1NYmw%3D
The drop down ‘issue’ menu has a few you can choose from that reflect what you want, e.g. refund. I will warn you now though that from previous forum feedback I’ve seen they don’t tend to refund for purchases made in the circumstances you describe. Always worth asking though.
Good luck.
Edit: just realised this links you through to the EU version of the site, if you’re NA you can find the right version by googling ‘GW2 support’.
