I’m no marketing expert, so I not going to wade in with my uninformed opinion of how successful or unsuccessful the “make your pledge in public for a chance to win the game” idea will be. But as a Tyrian who (unfortunately) has to spend some time in the real world working to earn some extra coin I can totally get behind the taxi cab video. As a player it made me laugh, not cringe, and to be honest when I’ve described the game to people in an attempt to get them to come try it out I more often than not fall into the habit of speaking like its a real place.
Maybe that just makes me Scarlet-level crazy, who cares, and if this campaign brings in some new players so much the better. There’s room in Tyria for everyone!
This makes me so mad. When they release ascended armor, why bother, if it will end up being obsolete in a future release?
I wouldn’t waste your energies getting upset about it now, when there has been no other mention of raising a level cap since the quote the OP provided (as far as I’m aware).
As for ascended armour becoming obsolete I’m fairly sure I read somewhere that they stated they would prefer to use an upgrade/infusion system to add any future verticality to existing ascended equipment, but I might have to track down the source. Or perhaps that was just a dream I had…
ttsgamers.com is the NA based guild that usually does Teq several times a day. You apply at this website and they will send you an invite from the newest of their TTS guilds, they whisper those online when they are getting ready for a teq run and if you want to join in you just rep them and head into the overflow they set up.
Hi Poitus
I’m at work at the moment but if nobody else picks this up before I will send you an invite when I get home. Don’t worry about repping, any time you can drop in a say hello and join in with other members you will be welcome.
I would like to see this for those professions that can only have one weapon set equipped (ele and engi) – an out of combat option to swap to a secondary set would be incredibly useful. For those professions with two weapon sets easily available both in and out of combat I don’t see the need to be as great.
You can try this old Dulfy video it’s over a year old but I think it’s still the same run animation from before the recent patch. Try it about 1:20 into the video.
They’re more blue than purple but have you looked at the Mystic weapons?
They have a nice glow detail which compliments Sylvari characters and would go well with the paler aspects of your current armour.
If it’s coin you are looking to send to a friend you can specify an amount to attach at the bottom of a mail. You can’t split coin with alt/drag.
Yes and yes. The boosts now only affect karma gained from events, at least that’s my understanding.
Wardrobe so I can store and reuse armour and town clothes across my account. (Pretty please Anet Saint Nick – I’ve been a very good girl this year…)
I’d also add to Rouven’s reply, mainly in answer to your first couple of questions, that there are some major trait, skill and balance changes coming for all professions around 10th December. So, find your feet again, try some new content and tweak your existing build but I would suggest you hold off making any expensive gear changes (especially crafting ascended gear) until after that patch.
Welcome back – it may seem like some big changes have happened but the community is still as helpful as ever, and you’ll catch up quickly enough with stuff.
I’ve put together a thread on the forum with a list of the most commonly missed areas for each explorer region as well as a list of map completion items added in patches since launch – hopefully it will help others complete these.

Sorry, it won’t let me edit the above post for some reason but I just remembered that they introduced transmutation splitters that should let you transfer genesis stats and all to another character on your account – here’s an example from the wiki.
“A player wants to pass a soulbound weapon from one character to another on the same account, typically done for legendaries. First transmute the weapon into a white weapon (with stats). This way you get an account bound item. Place it on the bank and retrieve it with the desired charater. Then use a Transmutation Splitter and you get your original weapon soulbound to the new character. "
You can use two transmutation crystals to transfer the look but not the stats of the hammer. Buy a basic white level hammer from an weaponsmith NPC and transmute the skin of genesis onto the stats of the white hammer, this will make it account bound. Now put that in the bank and have it colelcted by the character who wants genesis – they can then use another transmutation crystal to move the skin onto an item with the stats they want.
Transmutation crystals are required for anything that is level 80 (weapons/armour), anything less then that you can use a transmutation stone – both available from the gem store and also occasionally as map completion rewards.
You can mix between armor classes, but you have to get helm, chest, gloves, shoulder, legs, boots, of each tier, which would be 18 unique pieces. If you got all three T3 chest pieces, that counts as one piece toward the achievement.
I didn’t realise that it didn’t count armour class in its ‘unique-ness’ calculations – I apologise if my response was misleading. I would have read the wiki as I could get six individual pieces of T3, be they one of each armour piece or some of the same pieces in different armour classes.
What if you get the Heavy, light, and med chest/legs only, does that still count as 6 pieces?
I think that will work, the achievement tooltip talks about soulbinding 18 unique pieces of armour – so as long as you aren’t duplicating any (ie 2 heavy T3 chests) it should all count as you described.
Yeah just one full set. So for example you could get Heavy helm, chest and legs, med gloves and shoulders and light boots all from the Norn T3 collection and it counts as your ‘full set’ of T3.
You can mix and match between armour sets and cultural levels to get the achievement. Be warned though, for each culture the total is actually 18 individual pieces for the full achievement – so 90 pieces for the Emperor title.
Edit: Thanks for the clarification JustTrogdor – the full achievement will require one full set of each culture level (1, 2 & 3) but they can be a mix of armour classes.

It’s level 500 for ascended, 400 is the level for crafting exotics (and account bound legendary ‘gifts’). Ascended are the only ‘non-tradeable’ items that you can currently craft at 500, but there have been hints of precursor scavenger hunts and new legendary items which may require you to have a max craft also.
As for chef, at the moment there is only level 400 on cooking and everything you can make is tradeable, with the exception of legendary gifts. Who knows if they will venture down the route of ascended food items? Or indeed make Chef responsible for additional legendary related gifts at 400 or 500 level crafting. Your guess is as good as mine.
Glad you found it so quickly – and as you’ve found Cubular Fells you should try out the jumping puzzle there, its a good one
You don’t need to visit Labyrinthine Cliffs for the explorer achievement. Check the commonly missed areas listed in this post and if it isn’t one of those follow the advice in the post above it for tracking down the missing area.
I can’t link as I’m on my phone but there’s a post further down from this called Guide: Explorer achievements and 100% map which has a list on the 3rd post of map content added since launch. Hopefully that will solve it for you.
Edited for link.

Posts to do with regional Explorer Achievements and 100% Map Completion crop up all the time on the Players Helping Players forum. So, I thought I’d put together a guide which covers some of the more commonly confused aspects of map completion vs explorer achievements as well as commonly missed and newly added areas for both. Much of this information is available from various wiki pages but I hope the community finds it useful bought together into one post.
The difference between 100% Map Completion and regional Explorer Achievements
100% Map Completion – requires you to visit every point of interest, vista and waypoint and complete every renown heart and skill challenge in the following areas:
Rewards – 100% map completion rewards you with;
Regional Explorer Achievements – requires you to discover/unfog all of the white-named areas in each of the maps of a geographical region.
Rewards – Regional Explorer Achievements reward you with achievement points (that is all) between 20-25 points per completed region.
How to identify what you’re missing
Missing Areas for 100% Map Completion? – hints and tips
Missing Areas for Regional Explorer Achievements? – hints and tips
(edited by Lexy.3912)
Use this guide to cross reference your world map – the areas are listed in the order they appear on the map left to right, top to bottom.
There is one new area in Brisban Wildlands, at the site of a guild puzzle called Proxemics Lab – top lefthand corner. Other commonly missed areas in Magumma are;
Aurora’s Remains in Brisban Wildlands.
The Rowanwoods in Caledon Forest.
Inquest Outer Complex ,The Serpentwind and Calx’s Hideout all in Metrica Province.
Verarium Delves in Sparkfly Fen.
Dierdre’s Steps , Magmatic Conjury , Ungent Den and Cubular Fells in Mount Maelstrom
Don’t forget to double check the cities as well, The Grove and Rata Sum.
Welcome Novaroad, invite sent – looking forward to seeing you in game.
@graceness – those six skins are for the different components of the whole set (helm, shoulders, chest, gloves, legs and boots) not six full sets of the armour to reapply multiple times.
After the initial application of a skin you will need to use a transmute stone or crystal to move it to another piece of armour after that – so if you use all six pieces and then decide you want the same look on a different set of stats you will need six transmute stones/crystals.
I wouldn’t have thought they’d have given a storage space for cobs and other refined halloween mats in the collectibles if it wasn’t going to be a reoccuring item. Whether the Bloody Prince mini will be available to buy in future is another question, but I’m fairly confident that cobs will not be replaced by something different.
I would suggest you don’t do that, fairly sure flooding support with ‘reports’ would count as abusing the report function.
21. You may use the Guild Wars 2 reporting system within the Game to alert the company to in-game issues such as inappropriate behavior, offensive names, the perceived use of a “bot,” or other misconduct. You may not use the Guild Wars 2 reporting system to inflict harm upon or harass another player, to submit false reports, or to cause undue load on our servers. Individuals who abuse the reporting function will be investigated and will face possible account suspension or account termination.
I think you can redeem them with the Black Lion weapon specialists upstairs in the Trading Post. Make sure to check all the tabs on their window – they have a variety of stuff they vend.
You can create a key bind for walking in your options menu (F11).
Firstly, I love your name but will have to shorten it to Panda for now
My guild is cross server and cross region, so we have some people on both sides of the regional divide, sharing the same chat even if they can’t share the same game space (Anet I still hate you for this!) But because of that it means we can have people online when traditional NA downtimes exists.
We have members who are obsessed with completing personal story, not only their own but other people’s as well, Arah story runs are common thanks to our friend Dax. I personal love the living story and make sure to be familiar as possible with all aspects so I can help people who jump in and out of the game.
Anyway, I think you may like us so here is our advert and here is our website.

Hi there Egon
I belong to a guild, Legion of Honour, the majority of whom are on TC but we do have other server member and members on EU. Our interests range from PvE, Dungeons, WvW and general socialising. We are built around being opening and supporting to anyone who needs help so we have no rep requirement.
Our branch on TC is fully upgraded for all guild missions which we run at least once a week in alliance with another guild on the server. Anyway, we may be the relaxed and friendly group you are looking for. Here’s our advert and here’s our website.
I wonder if the connection would suffer if I’m playing on an US server from the EU
From my experience there is not problem with connection at all. I live in the UK and play on Tarnished Coast, but I will add that I have the advantage of a good city centre internet connection, not sure if rural users would have any problem.
If you buy gems to pay for a transfer you can keep all your characters. If you want to transfer for free the only way is to delete all your characters (make sure you strip them off all accountbound valuables first) and start fresh. Your bank and wallet transfer over intact but you will loose access to any guild upgrades you had on your original server.
At the moment the item that originally held the sigil of force will be destroyed in the transmution.
Hello Frozen Carnage
Not sure if you’ve found a place to try out from the responses above but I thought I’d leave our guild details here as I think we match much of what you are looking for.
Legion of Honour is a casual, friendly guild. We have core members who are on everyday and others who drop in as and when their life allows. The majority of us are based on Tarnished Coast but we do have members across server and if you don’t want to transfer to TC the potential is there for you to build up and oversee the chapter on which ever server you reside on. We also have a few players based on EU servers so region isn’t restricted.
Here’s our guild advert and here’s a link to our website and I hope you check us out.
It is a permenant change as the new scraps/claim tickets can be used for all future event release weapons. If you want black lion keys your best option is to alt farm them from low-level personal story.
A friend got in to TC within the last hour, so it does happen.
The game does provide a clue if you hover over the locations in the list, however from the Guild’s perspective they would probably prefer people use Dulfy to identify the correct location and get to it as quickly as possible to ensure successful completion of the Trek mission.
Treks are a timed mission and can be expensive if you are waypointing around the place trying to solve the clue. They also offer no player reward for completion, only merits for the guild, so most people don’t want to take the extra effort to solve the clues for themselves.
When we run them we run them as Aria describes – calling out where we are going – it can get a bit hectic in guild chat though!
yes, both architecture 1 and 2 are prereq’s for the first stage of the guild bank (guild stash) so all in all you are looking at earning or buying 2500 influence and it will take you 4 days in ‘building time’.
To get the second tier of bank will cost 20,000 influence (2 weeks build) and for the final tier 30,000 (2 weeks build).
(edited by Lexy.3912)
POI’s don’t count towards explorer achievements – for that you are looking to reveal all fogged areas of the map. Check for missing white-named areas.
Edit: This page should help http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/User:Bluestone/Explorer
No to mention… Who the hell is his father ? Only time will tell…
Click on the little ? in a circle that is on your main menu options at the top of the screen. It will show you the different hint categories and the ones you’ve completed will be ticked – look for the one that isn’t.
Welcome back Bio, lots of us are still around and active and there is always room for one more. Just give any of us a shout in guild chat if you have any questions about what’s going on in Tyria this week.
I wouldn’t call this a festival, in the sense that we will see it return year on year. It’s not common to celebrate 11years of a monarch’s rule – perhaps Jennah might have a 15 or 20yr Jubilee celebration, if she is still in power? But I’m doubtful this will be a regular event on the Tyrian calendar.
Whilst I realise that is the case Esplen, not every player will and I was just giving another option to ice cream which tends to be more expensive to craft or buy from the TP.
Note: Ice Creams give +5% Karma, unlike other foods.
A little off topic but just for information Kralkachocolate Bar also provides a +5% karma boost. The vendor relocated next to the LA laurel vendor after Dragon Bash finished.
