You can only do the special achievements for each episode after you have completed it for the first time – so you need to go through and repeat each episode but this time with a focus on doing what is required for each achievement. Some of them you may have to do 2 or 3 times to get all the achievements. You can do this solo or in a party, those in your party must have already completed the episode themselves in order to get the achievements on their account too. [edit] So if they don’t own LS2 they can experience the story with you but won’t be able to do the achievements or gain any of the episode rewards.
Also make sure that you all have the correct episode active in your story journal before your party enters the instance.

Hi there! Thanks for this opportunity to introduce you to the Legion of Honour [XIII]
We are a relaxed, friendly, multiserver guild that’s been active in game since shortly after its launch three years ago. The majority of us are based on NA servers but we happily offer a home to EU server players too. The core of our members enjoy the full range of game modes (PvX) as well as occasional role-playing (both in game and on our guild forum). We have players from all around the world so there is usually someone around to talk to, but are busiest in EU/NA evening/night times and on weekends.
One of the main reasons Legion came to be was that we wanted to help players and you may have already come across us through the Operation:Union thread from the Players Helping Players forum.
We have very few requirements for joining and no requirements for repping. We’d love you to find your in game home with us and become an active member, but if you find your niche in another guild once you’ve found your feet in the game that is okay too, we’re just happy if we helped you get there. Those of us that view Legion as our primary guild are almost always on hand to help out. We can offer training runs for dungeons and fractals, general advice and tips about the game, help with those tricky hero challenges, jumping puzzles (a personal favourite), personal story or map completions, as well as RP opportunities for both new and experienced RP’ers.
Our guild is fully built with a selection of guild wide bonuses up all the time (as long as one of us remembers to turn them on). We also run full guild missions twice a week (in conjunction with our Alliance Guild Vanquish [Vanq]), and we can’t wait to get our hands on Guild Halls in HoT. We have a mumble channel for chat and an active forum for discussion and sharing news.
To find out more about us, apply or just get in touch with questions please come find us on our forum.

F2p players can enter WvW at level 60.
Edit, or to be more precise WvW unlocks on the account once the first character reaches 60.

I’ll flag this event up to our EU guild members, I know they’ll be up for a Bearded Hobo party. And I’ll take no. 12 in the raffle if it’s still available.
Sorry, 2:30am here so I’m not reading through 8 pages. However, my suggestion would be that anet allow you to ‘top-up’ your gems when you click on the Buy option of the item you want. So if you already have 325 gems and want to buy something for 400 gems you click it and get an option to top-up by 75 gems at the current exchange rate.
If that was in place I wouldn’t mind the bundled gold/gem packages being the norm on the TP all that much. At least I’d have a choice of ‘I only want this item and I’m 43 gems short’ and ‘I have too much real world cash I must swap for digital currency asap’.
Apologies if this has already been suggested – bed time now…
83 for me if it pleases your Majesty.
Character name: Tulaah
You can also try on all the boots you don’t currently have by visiting your bank and using the wardrobe tab there – it allows you to preview all clothing items in the game, locked and unlocked. When you find somethng you like you can use the wiki to find out how to get the skin.
Also, some of the short ones, that tend to look like ugly shoes when you preview them are often supposed to be worn with an outfit that has long leggings or tights where you can’t see the join between the two. If your lower outfit is quite short, like the one you pictured, that’s why some of those will look a bit strange.
You need to complete the Defeat the misplaced Steam Ogre event which players usually trigger after the Fire Elemental world boss event. Someone will need to have a charged matrix cube key in order to open the event.
Have a look on a world boss timer and be in the Reactor for the Fire Ele event and then hang around after or ask in chat if anyone has a key for the Steam Ogre event.
Edit: the concentrated chaotic radiation you need to charge your chaos orb is on the platform where you fight the Steam Ogre.

Yeah, that’s Claw Island – do your personal story and you’ll get to go there and uncover it on your map.
Well thank you Maya, this is really generous of you and I’ll certainly toss my hat in the ring for this
I think it was mentioned in other articles around the release fo the last feature pack but this is the first one I found – it’s mentioned in the last paragraph.
Just bumping this as its been updated with some new map completion areas added to the game and also I’ve seen a few posts asking for help with explorer/world completion in game.
You can use /age /rank and /deaths in the chat box to return some account/character stats. Others can be monitored through achievements, like those in the slayer, hero and tradesman catagories but once the final tier of those achievements has been reached it won’t continue to record them.
This post I made a while ago may help you, the first gives some hints and tips for tracking down missing explorer areas and the second post lists the ones people commonly miss as they contain no other items necessary for map completion.
Just to clarify, your explorer achievements are not connected to 100% map completion. Although for the most part the two go hand in hand, your explorer achievement counts the number of areas (named in white) you have entered on your map, but these areas themselves are not counted in 100% map completion, just some of the things they contain (waypoints, poi, vista, skill point, etc).
There are armour options open to you pre-level 80. Firstly, you can try cultural armour, vendors are located in your racial home city and there are 3 sets available at levels 35, 60 and 80 respectively. The tier 3 stuff is very expensive but the tier 1 may be more manageable.
Next you can purchase karma armour from the heart vendors on various maps. At level 42 you’d be able to wear the Pit Fighter set which is available from various vendors in several mid-level maps. This is also available through WvW where you can spend badges of honour instead of karma.
Another option is either to craft or purchase crafted armour. Again there are different sets available depending on level and the type of armour you get from mob drops does change eventually, but can all be very similar until level 55+. Scroll up this page for info on crafted and loot armour.
Final options are of course items from the gem store, but anything you use as a skin now will have to be transmuted multiple times as you upgrade your armour stats all the way up to level 80. That’s why most people content themselves with crafted, karma or drops until then.
Store them in your locker.
Edit: That way the first character you log into in the heart of the mists will unlock all your pvp wardrobe, you won’t have to take each individual character in there to double check.
Yes, they’ve confirmed that you can still get charges from map completions.
Edit: Source (about half way down the Wardrobe section).

Where can I find those vendors? The only vendors I see on the map having an icon of coins. And all the time I have to use food? it is much better than nothing?
Yes, if you are going out of your way to kill the things around you as you explore then the extra 10%-20% XP you gain especially if they have large bonus XP from being alive for a while will really make a difference.
Some of those coin vendors you see will sell food items, karma vendors usually have a purple triangle icon above them or marking them on the map. You can also go back to the hearts you have already completed. Once you have completed the heart the NPC there becomes a karma vendor selling a variety of items which may include armours, weapons, accessories and food/potion items. Always worth checking to see what they sell and if you can use it to boost your leveling.
Can I ask if you are killing things as you explore? There is an lot of XP to be made from killing mobs in the open world, in particular killing those whose name appears in yellow that don’t attack you unless you attack them. The longer a mob is out in the open world without being killed by a player the more bonus XP it gives, so always kill the things that are standing in your path.
Also, you really should make sure that at all times you have a food item and a potion item in use – these will give a minimum of 10% extra XP per kill – so that’s an extra 20% if you are running both. You can get food items (have an apple icon) and potions (have a wrench icon) from vendors in cities and karma vendors out on maps, you can also buy them off the TP but make sure they are appropriate for your level.
You can see which heart vendors you need to have unlocked by clicking the red arrows next to the top five ingredients at the beginning of the ‘Top 5 Hearts’ guide. It gives the name of each karma vendor and the map, you can cross check the wiki for an exact location and then see if you have it completed on your map already.
@GodWood – a last ditch solution is to cross check your Maguuma maps against this list
The areas are listed according to their position on the map, so if you start in the top left of the map and read left to right, top to bottom, they should be in order. You don’t need to physically visit each area, just open your world map and zoom into the first Maguuma map until the white-named areas appear, then check them against the list linked above. If you have all the white-named areas move on to the next Maguuma map and repeat.
This is a time consuming process but if you are down to just one missing area and it isn’t one of the commonly missed ones listed above then its the only way I know to do it.
Good luck
@Mercury ranique – thanks for the suggestions, I’ve amended accordingly.
The Bluestone guide listed above is great if you are looking for a few areas, but if it’s just one or two that elude you and you have 100% completion or there abouts I find it more helpful to check a list of commonly missed areas first.
… I am missing 1 “region” in Maguuma so one achievement is just hanging there. That region I am missing doesn’t have any POIs or hearts, it’s empty or just happens to be where a certain champ spawns or even a veteran.
@Cassocaster – check the areas listed here under Maguuma – these are the ones that don’t contain POI/WP, etc or have been added to the game since launch. Hope you find the one you’re missing.
I put this together a while back. Some of these are Living Story related. Most are Jump Puzzles or Guild Puzzle areas. The Aetherblade retreat is no longer accessible, but the rest can be visited.
I see one item missing. There’s a new jp in the area north of Lion’s Arch.
Of those listed in the link above you also can’t currently access the Crown Pavilion or the Labyrinthine Cliffs. Both of these are rumoured to return with the associated events sometime this year.
Super Adventure Box also isn’t listed here although that is not currently in game either it will return at some point.
The legs belong to the Braham heavy armour set, which was a gem store item not currently available. The golves are the toxic gloves skin from the Tower of Nightmares patch, which was also a gem store item.
I put together this guide to help with explorer achievements and 100% map completion – check out the Shiverpeaks list for the commonly missed areas, I hope it helps.
You should also have a read through this which was published a few hours after I previous post.

Look for NPCs in a city or outpost that have the helmet/sword symbols as a map markers. They vend white armour which you can buy at level 20 for very little money – this will at least allow you to do enought damage to kill things and get loot drops, which should be blue and green level and you can begin to replace your white set.
Alternatively you can look up a cheap level 20 blue or green set on the TP and either buy for the asking price or put in a lower bid and wait for someone to fill it.
Not sure which of the two option would be cheaper for you, but there probably isn’t much in it.
I’m not sure where or how to get ascended or exotic things either. When you say dungeons, which ones do you mean? I think I only did one back when I started playing. Thanks for taking the time to reply by the way.
Most peoples first goal when they reach 80 is decide on the sort of build they want for their character and then work on getting some exotic armour and weapons for that build. I’ve always found this guide a useful starting point, have a look at the ‘exotic’ information under armour and weapons headings and see which of the options of obtaining them suits you best or is most achieveable. Then you might want to have a look at the options for ascended under the Trinkets heading.
As for dungeons there are eight main ones in game, not including Fractals, and we occasionally get a temporary dungeon as part of Living Story updates. Each dungeon has a story mode, which supports the lore and experiences of your character’s Personal Story if you’ve chosen to follow that. Completing the storymode of a dungeon also unlocks your ability to open the explorable paths, of which most dungeons have 3 different paths you can run (Arah has 4 explorable paths). You can still do explorable paths of a dungeon even if you haven’t done the storymode, but someone else in your party will need to open for you.
The instance you were transported to tells the story of the end of the Tower of Nightmares, which was the site of the last few updates of the Living Story before Wintersday and the temporary break in Living Story updates. As a new player you should probably look at it as an opportunity to experience some of the lore around the current Living Story arc which is going to be coming to a close over the next couple of months, it really centres around a protagonist called Scarlet, who has been causing trouble in Tyria for the last year by organising alliances of enemies to wreak havoc. You might find this summary helpful, starting with the Flame and Frost chapter.
The Fractals update has already happened, at the end of November, and although it’s possible for you to enter the fractals of the mists (a serious of small dungeons done four at a time) and be uplevelled to 80 I would personally recommend that you just focus on exploring and levelling for now and look into dungeons and fractals when you’re a bit higher levelled or at 80.
The Super Adventure Box (8-bit area) is reoccuring content which isn’t available in the game at the moment but will be back sometime this year hopefully.
The Living Story is due to resume in two weeks, we are currently waiting for information on what the next patch will contain content and storywise so keep an eye on the Release Page for more information.
I believe you only need level 100 artificer to refine the infusions together. That is very cheap to do, much cheaper then levelling a profession to 500 for the purposes of crafting ascended armour or additional ascended weapons.
So 2 rings with what is max ?+10 infusions? , gl in level 50 fracts with that.
You may want to keep up to date with patch notes and new mechanics in the game. Infused rings can now hold crafted AR infusions of up to +30. Although incredibly expensive to get to the +30 end of the scale, getting a +10 for each ring is not that expensive. With the original +5 AR in each infused ring plus a +10 infusion slotted in each that would give you a total of +30 AR from two rings.
Mine arrived in the UK this morning – thank you Arenanet, that’s made my Christmas extra special this year.
So glad, did you complete it? I hope that you enjoyed it, but if not at least you didn’t let it beat you!
Southsun cove doesn’t currently count towards 100% map completion.
Firstly, how rewarding/fun the final part of the personal story happens to be is totally subjective. Don’t take one persons word for it that you won’t enjoy it, I’ve done it several times on different characters and have enjoyed it most times. Admittedly, for those who like good cash/drop rewards from running explorable dungeon paths, the story path for Arah is underwhelming, but that’s not why you’re doing it, you’re doing it to complete your personal story.
Don’t use map chat to try and find a group, use the in game looking for group tool located in the contact menu (press [Y]). Go to the Dungeons section and the Arah part of that and add your group – make sure you specify you’re looking for STORY mode. It may take a while to fill a group but at least then you are looking across all players on every server in your region vs people who are on the map with you at the time.
You don’t need to be at the dungeon entrance when you advertise the group, just be on the map and hopefully you might find one of your party is at an open entrance to the dungeon on their server, if not you can do as suggested and google which server currently has it open and guest.
Finally, if you are in a guild have you asked other members to help. Perhaps some of them are also at the final stage of the story and need the Arah dungeon to finish?
Good luck finding a group, don’t let your first few tries to enter Arah put you off.
Edit: And just to reply to your last couple of questions. No – you can’t solo it and No – it can’t be any dungeon it must be the Arah story path.
Have a read through this guide for map completion.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/players/Guide-Explorer-Achievements-and-100-Map/first#post3156637
It lists commonly missed or overlooked areas as well as any new WPs or POIs added to the game through living story updates, perhaps you need to back track to previously completed maps to pick up some of these. Also, check around the Fields of Ruin area in Ascalon – you’d be surprised how many people don’t open or complete that map as it is tucked away in the far corner.
It will cost you a lot, this site has crafting broken down several ways depending on what you are looking for (cheapest, fastest, etc). gw2crafts
Also, since the crafting levels were increased from 400 to 500 the final 100 in those disciplines are even more expensive to get. You should average 7 levels for your character for each craft you take from 0-400. If you choose to persue weapon and armour crafts up to 500 you should average 10 levels overall for each craft. But as you only need 40 levels in total I’d suggest you focus on cooking and jewellry craft first as these currently end at 400, then take a look at the remaining disciplines and see which will be cheaper for you to level with.
For NA servers there is the TTS community guild (http://www.ttsgamers.com/ ) who kill Teq on overflow a few times a day, although recruitment is temporarily closed due to popularity – worth keeping an eye on. There is an EU version but I’m not sure what they’re called.
Some servers may focus on taking him down at least once a day, usually around reset.
I presume you mean to update the LFG tool to reflect the recent changes to the FoTM tiers? Yes, that would help avoid people’s confusion when looking for groups to do daily runs.
Over time I plan to gear all of my level 80s (currently 7, soon to be 8 ) with ascended, but for the time being I’ll focus on my ele main and probably my guard or warrior. If I ever need a project to work on I’ll pick the next in line and start their gear. I see this very much as a long term project.
One thing that is coming up with some frequency is the idea of separating PvE commanders from WvW ones. It’s our goal to not have diverging systems like that. We’d rather build one system that can work for both areas of the game for the sake of clarity. So, that’s another constraint to consider, that we’d be making changes in the best interests of both and not changes that separate them out into unique systems.
As a player who has a Commander tag originally bought purely for PvE purposes (leading guild missions, LS event support/focus for players, etc) I wouldn’t like to see the tag I have separated from the same tag in WvW. In as much as, although I only use the tag in PvE at the moment I am playing more and more WvW and I would like to think that in future I would feel confident enough to use my tag to help my server in WvW.
I would understand and probably agree if part of the long term system involved earning a certain WvW rank before a tag could be deployed in WvW – nothing huge, but just some indication that you’d at least been in WvW before you popped your tag on the map and started shouting stuff out. But I’ll leave feedback on that aspect to those who’ve spent much more time in WvW than I have.
How would people feel if, instead, there were some additional unlocks you could get as a guild commander that only displayed to people in your guild? Maybe if you are in guild only mode on your tag you have some additional tools?
Any additional tools you could give to those of us who run guilds would be much appreciated – please note these don’t have to be connected to a commander tag, much needs doing in this realm (moving on….)
Perhaps the largest question I still have, how would everyone feel if the only changes to commander were the smaller scale ones?
Even the suggested small changes, such as commander tag colours, etc would benefit me as a PvE commander at this time and I’d also benefit second-hand from their deployment in WvW as I spend more and more time there.
Fairly sure those boots are the forthcoming ascended boots (light).
I’ve finished it entirely on 4 of my 7 80s and intend to finish it on the others as well, plus any future alts. It is good experience whilst you’re levelling and I find it helps to open up a variety of maps so once a character is 80 I have a reasonable map completion. Whilst I hate every single mission with Trahearne, I like all the other bits and I really enjoy doing the Arah story with guildies who are also at that stage but I have also successfuly pugged it before.

Do you belong to a guild? That is where I would start, as the chances are your guildmates will participate in those content types and would be able to introduce you to it, explain the basics, give you tips and take you with them so you can try it out.
Warriors, rangers and guardians are considered pretty easy classes to start with. That being said, pick what interests you, if you like it enough but it seems to take a bit more practice to master you’ll probably put the time in. You start with 5 character slots so I would play around with a few of classes to see what you prefer. Race is not such a big influence long-term except to consider how you want to look.
