Proudly representing The Legion of Honour [XIII] on Tarnished Coast
I could use a few ascended items and I have a few laurels but apparently I need ectos too.
It is also possible to get ascended accessories (earrings) with guild commendations earned for completing guild mission content. If you belong to a guild or can gain temporary access to one which is running mission content then you wouldn’t need to farm for ectos. It might take you a few weeks to get enough commendations for two accessories though.
The chocolate omnomberry cream cream only gives you 40% MF when you are under the effect of a boon. So that would definitely fluctuate unless you have a permenant boon on you in and out of combat. I don’t know if or how that fluctuation is represented in your hero stats though – maybe try it with a stable MF food, like peach tarts, and see if you still see changes in the numbers?
The ascended equipment which requires ecto + laurels to purchase are accessories (earrings) not amulets and fill a different ‘trinket’ slot. My advice would be to use your laurels to buy an amulet (this is the only way to get an ascended amulet in game at the moment) and then if you belong to a guild which does mission content use your guild commendations to buy your accessories (12 commendations + 5g per accessory).
It’s been confirmed that the gauntlet tickets have no expiry – you can use it any time now or in the future to claim your reward.
MF doesn’t behave in the way you describe to my knowledge. You’d need to give a bit more context though for people to try to diagnose the issue. If you are experiencing this in WvW it’s possible that the values are being changed by the Outmanned buff, or if you belong to a guild it may be that you are being affected by guild buffs. What food buffs do you use?
Also, found this on the wiki – perhaps this explains the problem?
“As with all other attributes, the total Magic Find is not always correctly displayed in the hero panel, e.g. under the effects of banners or guild buffs, the additional increase provided by food will not be included in the total. However, ArenaNet has confirmed that the correct amount is applied when you roll for loot.”

It can seem like a lot of work, especially if you plan to earn your influence through playing rather than purchasing it. I suppose it depends if you already belong to a guild you would rather rep or if you are playing alone, in which case you may as well be awarded influence for the time you play.
As to why you’d want a guild bank, storage – plain and simple. I’ve been playing since just after launch and have purchased all available additional bank slots for my own personal bank – and I still struggle to find the space to store all the things I want. After months of play, paying 5 gold for an additional 50 spaces didn’t seem like that much trouble. I can recognise that newer players might not have the need of the space or the spare finances to do this though. Perhaps consider it as a long term goal rather than an immediate necessity.

No soulbound and account bound items can’t be stored in a guild bank. To start your own guild talk to the Guild registrar who can be found in LA on the balcony to the left of the entrance (they are also in all major cities). It costs one silver to start a guild.
To open up a guild bank you will need to accrue 2500 influence. Spend 500 influence to get Architecture level 1 and then a further 1000 to get architecture level 2. This allows you access to build your guild stash (for a further 1000 influence).
You can earn your influence through repping your own guild whilst playing, alternatively you can buy influence from the Guild Promoter who can be found near the Guild registrar.
No, it doesn’t work with race armours as they are designed for the specific body models of that race. I think I remember reading that you could do it just after launch but that the armour didn’t look right or didn’t appear at all when placed on a character of different race.
Any chance we can get some dev confirmation on whether Fused weapon tickets have a limited life span? I notice you have said that the Molten gauntlets can be redeemed at anypoint in the future, I’d really like to know if the same is true for fused weapons or whether I have to spend mine by the 12th?
Yep, I also have this issue on a regular basis, probably every couple of days. As the OP says it happens randomly after playing for some time and relogging is the only fix.
This is a great guide for tackling your gearing-up choices. God bless Dulfy
It’s not called the Bluestone achievement anywhere in game, that is simply the name of the Wiki user who created the orginial wiki entry to help people accomplish the regional explorer achievements such as Krytan Explorer, Magumma Explorer, etc. These do not award any separate titles for completing them. Discovery of white-named map areas counting towards a regional exploration achievement are account not character based.
The Been There, Done That achievement tiers and reward title are linked to map completion (waypoints, POI, hearts, skill challenges and vistas). With the title being awarded for 100% map completion on an individual character.
Yes, it is possible to get a character from 0 to level 80 by maxing out all of the crafting disciplines.
This might help http://www.gw2crafts.net/ it links directly to the current GW2 economy when calculating material costs so it should give you an accurate idea of how much crafting your way up to level 80 will cost. I would recommend you use the Traditional Guides on this site as they include crafting all components (rather then buying some already made) which will give you maximum experience for levelling. Also, use a crafting XP booster should give you a bit more too.
This link will let you know which specific karma merchant sells which piece, or indeed which specific story chapter offers each skin as a reward.

I can’t remember whether you need architecture level 1 and level 2 unlocked in order to build the guild stash (you definitely need level 1) – either way you will need to add the influence for that into your equation. To unlock level 1 is 500 influence and level 2 is an additional 1000.
Also, be aware that a guild stash will not allow you to store any item that is account or soulbound, so this will restrict the things you can place in there once it is built.
A site like this should help you, it shows all the maps that you can access and therefore also the areas that can’t be mapped. Yes, Frostgorge and Southsun Cove are the only two 80 level areas that aren’t crawling with risen.
Tarnished Coast is open as of this moment.
No, it will be a separate bank – in no way connected to the one left behind on the original server.
A lot of discussion on legendary making takes place in the crafting sub-forum here, so if you haven’t already you should check that out for some hints and tips.
I’m coming towards the end of the crafting journey for mine (Incinerator – I too am an ele) after I was lucky enough to get a precursor from the forge back during Wintersday and I’ve been plugging away it ever since. I usual play for 3-4 hours a day, more at weekends if I’m at home and I’ll admit to having struggled with the tier 6 mat collection the most. In particular the stacks of tier 6 mats you need for the gifts of might and magic – this is probably because I’m too easily distracted by other things to be a dedicated mat farmer for very long.
Things like the dungeon tokens and WvW badges which I thought would take me ages were actually pretty quick, the clovers weren’t too bad either as I had large reserves of unspent karma – ectos are ectos – pray to the god of RNG for luck or get out there and farm the cash to buy them. If going for Incinerator lodestones are also a farming challenge, cores are easier to come by but you will use precious tier 6 dust converting them to lodestones so in the end I found it easier to farm cash and buy them.
Making the clovers I got about 30-40 of each tier 6 mat by the end – maybe a few more as I can’t remember how many I had before I started. This leaves you over 200 of each to find through farming or buying of the TP.
Basically it won’t be quick if you plan to farm all the mats or the money to buy them yourself with only 2-3 days a week – but then for a legendary it probably shouldn’t be. Good luck with which ever one you end up going for – it has been a slog but I do think I will be proud of my achievement for all the effot that went into it in the end.
Yeah I use the Logitech G600 as well. It took a bit of getting used to as I’d never tried any other gaming mouse before but now I wouldn’t be without it and its 12 side buttons – thoroughly recommend.
They are pretty evenly balanced I would say – but according to this engineer and necro are the least represented – or just those who own these characters don’t like to enter census data
http://gw2census.com/charts.php?pie=total÷=charprofession
Also, whilst this is a fun site to play around on I don’t know how up-to-date the data is as it seems to have been around since before launch.

Welcome back – this is quite a good overview which might help you.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/players/Profession-Selection-Guide/first#post1618285
Basically every class has something to offer, largely dependent on your preferred play style and area of the game you are in (pvE, WvW, sPvP, etc) – regular balancing between the professions means there is never a ‘superb’ class that far outshines the others.
Faux Solo? For some reason this just makes me think Star Wars but a Ranger is never truly alone so…
The Temple karma vendors in Orr sell exotic level spineguards that are a lot cheaper then the costly guild armorer.
Oh yeah, I forgot that they added those in – good idea, much better than mine if you have the karma to spare.
Noob question.
Im still wearing the back piece for the personal story at lvl80 lol.
I have looked on the trader but there is no “back” under the armor section and the other searches i have tried turned up nothing.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Back_item
The dungeon drops are probably the only ones you’ll find on the TP, I think all the otheres are soul or accountbound, and they all have specific names so have a look at that link and then search for them eg. spineguard, etc.
I think the best quality you get from dungeon drops are rare so if you’re looking for exotic then the guild armourer might be your best bet, or go for an ascended one?
Edit: actually a couple of the dungeon drops are exotic quality, so if they meet your stat requirements you might be able to get them on the TP.
Once a skill has been ‘bought’ you can’t trade it back – so if you’ve spent skill points on the wrong skill you will just have to accrue some more.
If you are talking about swapping out skills on your skills bar you need to be out of combat and then use the little arrow at the top of each skill to access those available to you – or do it through the hero screen [H] where you can see all of the skills available to you.
Where is this information? This is the first I have heard that they are doing this. There are no news announcements or other posts I can find that state this is happening. Since Colin has posted on this thread it is a done deal but I would like to know where the information came from.
updated yesterday – https://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/releases/march-2013/
You can access the combat log as a chat page. If you look along the top of the chat box you’ll see tabs – I think there’s one already preset for combat, if you click the tab it will show you damage done and damage taken, etc. If it isn’t preset you can change the sort of information you see in the chat window by selecting from the different options that drop down from the arrow at the side of the tabs.
Is she a warrior? I suspect she is using skill 3 on the downed skills bar – vengeance. This allows you to temporarily rally but you will die after 15 seconds. There is a chance that if you kill something whilst in rally it will remove the vengeance and you won’t die at the end of the time. You can also trait so that a kill whilst in vengeance has a 100% chance to clear the condition.
I would agree with the others, I use an Ice Bow all the time and only in dungeons do I expect anyone else to make use of the extra one – usually for specific tasks like taking out gravelling burrows, etc. If after I’ve used my original spawn the extra still hasn’t been picked up I might go grab it and use it, but I rarely count on getting two uses for each cast. You may have scuppered the ele’s battle plan but you haven’t broken conjured-weapon etiquette as far as I can say.
Once the bounty is built it will sit in your list of guild upgrades until you click it to activate it – much like a guild banner or boost.
Yes, the locations of your bounty are random each time, from a selection of 15 possible ones – see the guide linked below for information on each possiblity.
Yes, there are hints as to the general map they can be found on but then each bounty has a specific path that they walk around – again it is easier to use the guide to identify the right map quickly – you only have 15 minutes once the bounty has been started.
Yes, if another guild on your server is also doing a bounty event and has been given the same bounty as you then they may kill yours before anyone in your guild gets a hit in – I think (please correct if wrong) that as long as one of your guild manages to get a couple of hits on the bounty before they die it would register as successful for your guild as well.
Finally, we have done two of these in our guild and before each one we truied to track down most of the tricky ones or ones with really long paths – then you can spam talk with them to hold them in place (preferably near a waypoint) until the bounty event is started.
There will be good builds for both and situations where damage might be higher with one than the other. For example, a heavy condition damage build can loose some of its effectiveness in big battles where lots of other players are applying condition too.
You might be best to post this in the ele sub-forum, you may find that this topic has already come up or had specific builds linked.
Are you NA or EU and which server are you on at the moment? – might help people give you suggestions. And, what do you mean by best – for Dragons is that lots of people so it finishes quickly (and lags like crazy) or not many people so that you can enjoy the wonderfulness of dragon slaying as it was in the olden days?
I would guess that this does go against the rules as being able to easily activate things such as food/potion items and ash legion spy kits would give you an advantage in the game. There are ways to make this quicker, if you run around with your inventory open in a corner of the screen (just make it small and have your essential items located together at the top) then you can mouse click on the one you want whilst still moving around.
Even if you guest back you won’t be able to access them on your original server. You would have to make a permanent transfer back to that server in order to access anything you left behind in the guild bank. As a guest you can only access the upgrades that you have built up on your current home server.
Yes – the new ones are a ship in a bottle and a logbook.
It’s not one a day, you just have to be patient enough to run around until you’ve found all 3 in Wayfarers and the 3 in Diessa. If you have previously picked up some and returned them to LA you will get the message you stated. But there should now be three snow or dirt covered objects on each map for you to find.
Happy hunting.
these are now in game – enjoy
Hi Venomus
You aren’t alone in your situation, many of us started this game with friends who have since stopped playing or moved on to different aspects of the game.
As a group in game we can’t guarantee you someone who will be able to play with you as much as are asking, a larger proportion of us are based on NA servers so won’t be able to guest to you. We do have several active EU players though, so you may be able to meet up with them if they are online when you are.
What we can offer you though is somewhere for you to ask questions about the game, we have a lively guild chat so even if you are playing alone sometimes you will have people to talk to.
One of us will send you an invite next time we are in game and you can come and talk to us and see what you think. I hope we’re able to help you enjoy the game more than you are currently and perhaps someone else based on Desolation will read your post and get in touch for some more frequent partying up.
I think this might be the case my guild is on another server
Really hope they fix this problem its really frustrating not to be able to use any of the guild servicesEDIT: transfering servers now to see if it works just hope i dont waste my money
A guild may have members on different servers but each server is responsible for generating its own influence pool and buying upgrades. So, for example, if your home server is Tarnished Coast but the rest of your guild is based on Blackgate – if you haven’t specifically upgraded the TC guild to have weapon and armorsmith vendors but Blackgate have you will not be able to access them.
This isn’t a bug, it is working as intended.
Are you positive that your new guild has unlocked access to the guild weapon and armorsmiths? You can check by looking in the upgrade section of the guild panel. I personally haven’t heard of this bug before so if that is the case I can only suggest you contact support.
Different professions seem to level slower or faster – I’m not sure whether this is factually correct but its often reported by players. Warriors = fast, Mesmers = slow etc – but I’m sure different players have different opinions on this.
Also, if you did things like crafting on your original character but not on your new one that will make a difference, you can get quite a nice exp boost from crafting.
That’s an infused fractal capacitor (an infused, ascended backpiece)
They have exactly the same % chances of return, the only difference is the size of the stack – mystic comes in stacks of 250 which some people prefer as it lasts longer and takes up less space than multiple kits which may be needed during a farming session.
(edited by Lexy.3912)
I’ve only ever seen the tribal skins available with the carrion (condition damage) stats on them – and after checking that is all that is available to buy on the TP. Perhaps you can buy a carrion version of the dagger and transumte it onto a weapon that has your cavalier stats – not sure how expensive this would be though.
You might find this thread a useful read.

You need the skill points on the character you want to use the legendary on. The thing you buy with the skill points is soul bound. Make sure you get the points on the character you want to have the weapon.
You can use an alt’s skill points to make the mystic clovers though – just the bloodstone shard (200 skill points) is soulbound. And the legendaries are soulbound on use so you can make it with any character and then transfer it without equiping.
Congratulations on getting your precursor.
You can also purchase skills points with fractal relics – http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Dessa%27s_Experimental_Journal
Also, if you still have other gifts to make for your legendary you will no doubt gain lots of exp whilst gathering those items. I spent a lot of skill points making my Mystic clovers but I’ve quickly built my total back up to 200 for the bloodstone shard just by taking part in events, dungeons and general farming activities.
Good luck with it.
Have a read of this, it should explain all your options for you.

If you go into the Heart of the Mists (click the crossed sword icon at the top of your screen) you can preview any weapon/armour combination available in game on your character.
When you arrive in the mists, turn to you right and there are three large ‘closets’ you can visit which give you access to all items. Right click on an item for the preview option.
Most armours and weapons have different names in PvP than they do in PvE so you might have to preview a few until you find the items you are looking for.
