Im not sure what you are referring to. Zebee, but im sure there is no such thing as player/guild homes yet…

I would love to have my own home, and a guild hall would be beyond awesome, all my guildies want it really bad!

There is an instance in each character’s racial home city which acts as a ‘home’ in as much as it changes to reflect decisions made in your personal story. You can’t purchase anything or adapt it other than through choices made in your story.

We ended up under rata sum, kind of. We landed in rocks by a lake, and found a building with a portal in it. We got into the building, and there was no gravity! We floated around and took some screen shots.

That sounds awesome! Sorry I missed it, we may have to organise a second trip.

Hello,
my question is can someone who is on NA server move to EU server and vice versa? I know guesting is not allowed, I mean actually change region. If so do we keep or loose everything?
Thank you.

I did this in reverse. I started the game on an EU server (I’m based in the UK) but then later on moved to an NA server to play with friends I’d made through my guild. My account transferred with all characters, etc intact – as far as I’m aware this is still possible to do, for the appropriate gem fee.

What are these armor pieces called?

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: Lexy.3912

Lexy.3912

This site has 36/37 armour types displayed with information on aquisition and stats. You can also display the armour in different colours although I’ve found the combo option to be the best one to see the different elements clearly.

http://argos-soft.net/GW2ArmorGallery/index.php?weight=2&race=2&color=0&sex=0

Edit: and the the duelist sets that share the skins with the named sets don’t exactly cost coppers. http://www.gw2spidy.com/search/duelist?sort_rarity=asc

Karma overload

in Players Helping Players

Lexy.3912

You can now buy Orrian Jewellry boxes from vendors in Orr which allow you to recycle your karma into cash. You will also receive back a fair amount of karma if you buy a lot of boxes but this is in the form of jugs which you can store away in your bank for use by an alt or your character later on if new karma items become available. Also from the box you get trash items which can be sold for coin – turning Karma to cash – as well as some rarer items, some of which sell well on the TP.

is it a waste to salvage exotics

in Players Helping Players

ectos, sigil/rune and then either wood or metal, cloth or leather of a certain tier (usually tier 5 or 6) with level 80 equipment. You don’t get things like blood, bones, totems etc back from named pieces you might break down e.g. berserker armour or weapons don’t return blood even though it is a component in crafting the item yourself.

is it a waste to salvage exotics

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: Lexy.3912

Lexy.3912

Selling or forging are the only other options really. Check the price of the rune/sigil that they contain – it may be worth more than the exotic item itself. If it is then salvage using a black lion or mystic kit for a chance at a better return of high tier mats, ecto and the return of the upgrade component. Then you can sell what you don’t want on the TP and probably make more profit then selling the exotic item.

If they are exotic weapons you could chance throwing four of them in the mystic forge for a chance at a legendary precursor – but this is pretty much a waste unless the Gods of RNG smile upon you.

I’ve saved a couple of exotic drops in anticpation of suitable alts making level 80 – its helped to kit them out quicker. But you need to have an idea of what sort of build you anticipate them having to make sure you are hanging onto items with suitable stats.

How often are the big patches released?

Lexy.3912

I think it’s great the game is updated so often, i just wish i knew when to expect the big patched.

Just keep an eye on the forums and on that page I linked to before – there is usually about 2 weeks notice of the date for the next patch, along with some infromation on what it will contain. The only thing that we don’t usually know is the exact time that patch will load, although with the latest one they did give an hours warning in game and they seem to have taken onboard that we would like some more info on this in future.

As for size of the patch I can’t help, I’ve never looked to see if that information is there.

Dragon Spawns

in Players Helping Players

Lexy.3912

Yes, the Shatterer has two pre-events which happen someway to the south of the spawn point – an escort and a collections event. Once both of these are complete the dragon can spawn shortly after. The Claw has a long window in which he can spawn, and his pre-event is the appearance of a bunch of big dragon crystals and mobs around the spawn site which must be destroyed before he lands. After they are destroyed he lands almost immediately.

Teq just turns up anywhere within his 30min window – last night he turned up literally on the last second of the countdown!

High AoE DPS Class?

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: Lexy.3912

Lexy.3912

Don’t base your decision on what you read in a profession specific forum – the majority of the posts in them cry ‘nerf’ and ‘broken’ – I’m not saying all of this is unfounded, balancing always seems to lead to something not working the way you want it to or were used to it doing.

I main an ele and I love it, it was my first character and although I have alts at level 80 my ele is my trusted go to for pretty much everything the game has to offer. I’ve changed my build/traits or skills round on occasion to negate a change in the profession – but that just keeps the gameplay interesting for me. If you like the sound of playing an ele, do it, and see for yourself if its what you want.

Btw – Mesmers are also lots of fun

new player, couple of questions

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: Lexy.3912

Lexy.3912

Hi Steveo, welcome to the game

Guilds – you can belong to 4 or 5 (can’t remember which) across your account at one time and you only have access to the specific guild perks and guild chat whilst you represent. Different characters can be repping different guilds across your account.

Dungeons – the game has no integral looking for group function, most people use gw2lfg.com which works very well. Also, if you decide to find alternate guilds which have more members online than that can be an easy source of dungeon party members. You can do fractals at any level as it will scale your stats up to 80, however, it does not scale up your equipment or accessories so you will be underpowered compared to higher level players. Also, depending on which level you are you won’t have opened up all your available skill slots or your elite. My advice would be to wait until you have at least opened these up.

Frost & Flame is mainly situated around starter areas and cities so you should be able to access all content as you start to gain your first few levels. This is a good guide for content and location of actitivies – over the next few days there should be increased numbers of players around too so if you are a little under-levelled you should have some support.

Part one – http://dulfy.net/2013/01/29/gw2-living-story-refuge-volunteer-events-guide/
Part two – http://dulfy.net/2013/02/26/gw2-the-gathering-storm-living-story-event-and-achievement-guide/ and http://dulfy.net/2013/02/26/gw2-lost-and-found-living-story-event-and-achievement-guide/

These events are likely to be around for at least a month if not longer so don’t feel that you have to rush into them.

Need a little help on leveling

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: Lexy.3912

Lexy.3912

Map completion is the key to early levelling. As you are going around to find points of interest, waypoints, skill points, etc you will run across events that you can take part in. Many of these happen within easy reach of a heart quest – in fact taking part in dynamic events near to hearts will usually go a long way to completing the heart at the same time.

You can use the ‘level’ of the various hearts (hover over them and see the level in brackets after the heart description) to help guide your exploration around the map, so that you don’t head in the wrong direction and end up in the level 15 corner of the map whilst you are only level 8.

At the same time gather every node you see and bank the materials until later on when you might want to power craft through a few levels. Everything you do will gain you XP in this game and it quickly adds up to levels. Your early personal story chapters will be centered around the map that you start in so as you level and uncover the map you should quite naturally come across the next part of the story and be the appropriate level to undertake it.

Gift of Exploration

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: Lexy.3912

Lexy.3912

Yeah, unfortunately I was mislead. Oh well! One concern that I have is that since this is created in the Mystic Forge it may be a random weap and nothing would tick me off more than collecting all of those ingredients only to have the MF give a weap that none of my chars can use.

I just want to make sure that you know (to avoid further disappointment) that the four ingredients that you listed (Bloodstone shard, 250 Obi shards, gift of exploration & gift of battle) do not make a weapon when combined in the forge. They make the Gift of Mastery – which is just one more small step in the journey to wards getting a legendary weapon.

I’ve never seen this happen on any of my characters – there are only 70 trait points you can get for each charcater you play – one for each level between 11-80. Do you mean skill points? These are earned through levelling and through completing skill challenges scattered around the maps.

The Bifrost.

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: Lexy.3912

Lexy.3912

Dungeons are designed for parties of 5 – so going solo is not really an option. I use my ele for dungeons all the time – you might want to do a bit of build research and look at a couple of dungeon specific ele builds to help understand some of the skills, strategies that will be most useful to you and your team in a dungeon setting.

The best thing to do is to find a party who are looking to do the story mode of a dungeon rather than an explore mode (the wiki covers the difference). You won’t get tokens for doing the story mode but it can be an easier way to understand how dungeons work within the game. As you are nearly 80 you should be able to try most dungeons by now, the lowest one is lvl 30 for story or 35 for explore and after that they work their way up in level till you get to Arah which is lvl 80.

If you belong to a guild I would suggesting asking for help from the other members to make a dungeon party for either Ascalon Catacombs or Caudecus’s Manor in story mode. Then you can go on to run explore paths with your guild, people also set up groups using map chat (saying things like lfg AC story or lf2m CM exp) or the gw2lfg.com website.

Start by reading this if you haven’t already. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Dungeons

The Bifrost.

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: Lexy.3912

Lexy.3912

Yes, it does help to have alts and most (but not all) elements of the recipe are account bound rather than soulbound. So you can use other characters to get badges from WvW or dungeon tokens – you can also buy obsidian shards with karma, fractal tokens or I think now laurels across any character and then pool them.

The only things I things are definitely soulbound are the bloodstone shard and the precursor if you choose to equip it to a character for use whilst you save up everything else.

Research here is your friend – there are some decent vid guides on youtube and some stuff on google – just be sure to check how recently stuff has been posted as there was a lot of conjecture at game release before people knew what the recipe really was. The crafting sub-forum here is a good place to see other people’s questions about legendary creation.

Lexy.3912

Its expensive in a lot of ways, cash just being one of them. There are elements of the legendary recipe that you can’t just buy with gold. For example you need to gain 500 badges of honour which you can only get by playing WvW, you need a bloodstone shard which costs 200 skill points ( so you won’t have those as soon as your character turns 80 – it will take some time). You will need to run a particular dungeon for 500 dungeon tokens to buy that specific gift (in the case of Bifrost this needs to be the Arah dungeon). You need 100% World map completion for the gift of exploration you receive and you will also need approx 1million karma saved up to buy obsidian shards – to make mystic clovers with and another stack for your gift of mastery.

The things you can buy with cash are the precursor, tier 6 mats (vicous fangs, crystalline dust, etc), globs of ectoplasm, opal orbs and unidenitified dyes – or you can choose to farm them yourself – in which case the big cost here is time not money.

If you really want the Bifrost you won’t be getting it any time soon unless you buy a finished one that is for sale on the TP. They aren’t supposed be an easy or quick thing to get. I advise you really understand what you are getting into if you decide to go for this – personally I’m working on the legendary Incinerator but I’m not expecting to be able to actually get it for a few more months yet.

Armor Sets Question

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: Lexy.3912

Lexy.3912

Most maps have a set of armour you can buy from the various heart vendors (complete the hearts so the NPCs will sell to you). Each heart vendor that stocks the armour will sell a different piece (chest, legs, etc) so by the time you finish the map you should have a full matching set.

Training Manual problem

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: Lexy.3912

Lexy.3912

You open up additional slots to put points into but buying a manual does not give you extra points to put in them. Trait points are only awarded as you level (1 per level from 11-80) to give you a total of 70 trait points per character by the time you reach 80.

Reading the last manual should have opened up the final tier of traits allowing you to now put 21-30 points in a particular triat line, whereas before you could only have a maximum of 20 trait points in each line.

You can use this site to see various level 80 exotic armours, dungeon and cultural sets and a few karma sets on different race/gender models. It doesn’t show you all of the lower level armour sets that drop from mobs or come from crafting but chances are by the time you get to 80 you will want something off this list for your character.

This is the only additional information I have seen on these boxes since the patch – as someone says, people may be buying them today with thier 3rd laurel so I’m sure it won’t be long for confirmation. Perhaps check the crafting forum to see if anyone there has posted about them.

He can be in your guild when guesting but he will not contribute to your server’s influence pool, he will start to build one on his own home server instead.
