So you HAVE to use 2 transmute stones?
My guardian used a ‘Fine’ transmutation stone (since those legs are 80) to move the look onto the white armor, keeping the stats of the white armor (and thank god you can transmute things your class couldn’t ordinarily use).
Even though the stones warn ‘soulbound’, they are in fact account bound. Drop it in the bank. Ranger comes in, picks up the white piece that looks like the Vigil legs now. Uses a ‘Basic’ transmutation stone to apply the look to her 60th level legs.
Whoa I thought you could only transmute armor in the same armor class (like heavy to heavy).
So I can have my elementalist dress like a warrior? =O
No, sorry. I think what they meant was that their guardian was the one who had access to the vigil vendor. A guardian could buy light or medium armour for transmutation but couldn’t equip it.
There have been at least two updates I’ve seen in the last week, both posted by devs in threads on the general discussion board. Long story short – affected players should receive something via in game mail this week.
Thanks a lot Lexy!
Tribulation Caverns was solution for my problem – I’ve reached it and done puzzle and now I’ve got all explorer titles!
That’s great – gratz!
When I chatted a little on XIII I think there was one member Devona’s Rest—should take a look at the roster and chat/contact them too.
Yes, definitely.
Ok, think I am up-to-date with invites up until this point. Anyone new who posted before this can check in game for their invite by pressing G to access you guild panel – The Legion of Honour should be listed – if not please feel free to PM me or repost here.
This thread (currently very close to the top of the discussion board) has the latest update.
Hi Vile, to access your achiements press ‘H’ on your keyboard to open up your Hero Panel. There are some icons on the left hand side and the bottom one give you access to all the different achievement catagories – it will usually open on the daily achievement list.
There’s something in Snowden Drifts near the Lornar’s Gate waypoint, not sure if it will suit your purposes though. As part of one of the hearts near there you will find a load of massive grounded crossbows which you can aim at targets on a hillside. Not sure if you get these to work to your advantage – I’ve also seen these somewhere else, maybe Stormbluff Isle in Bloodtide Coast. I don’t know if you can still use them once you have completed the heart. Another similar mechanic are some Hylek guns, I think they are in Sparkfly Fen, south of Orvar’s Glen.
Hi BongiB
Welcome to GW2 and to Tyria. Just to let you know that you can still currently transfer servers for free once every 7 days, we don’t know how long this will be the case and as of yet there is no other way of ‘guesting’ with friends in open PvE – only through dungeons and then only EU-EU servers or NA-NA servers.
In response to your ‘the who in the what?’ comment – this very long thread has evolved over the past few months into a bit of a cross-server guild of people who like you are in the game for some fun, some company and to help others from time to time.
As we are cross server there are possibilities that other members will be on your server for partying up, we get together to do dungeons (some more rgularly than others) and we also have a lively guild chat that all can particpate in. I’ve even heard a rumour that we might have a website for more organised events but I begin to suspect this is a lie…
If this sounds like something you’d be interested in I can send you an invite, or if you want to take some time to find your feet in the game first that is fine too – we’re quite relaxed about the while thing.
Both Forsaken Halls and Tribulation Rifts counted towards my 174, I know they did as they were the two I specifically had to go back to get before the achievement ding’d.
Funnily enough though someone I was doing map completion with at the time didn’t seem to need them – even though they had never been to either area, they still had Shiverpeak Explorer as completed. We wondered whether this might be because they had finished Shiverpeaks explorer before the new areas were added, whereas I finished these maps afterwards – who knows for sure…?
Try Forsaken Hall (mini-dungeon) and Tribulation Caverns (jumping puzzle) – both are new areas that were added during the Halloween events. Depending on when you did Dredgehanut Cliffs they may not have been present at the time you first went through.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Forsaken_Fortune
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Tribulation_Caverns
To unlock both of these you only need to walk into the area, you don’t have to finish either the mini-dungeon or the jumping puzzle to get them.
Also Tail of the Serpent in Timberline Falls is quite often missed, it is just to the North of Lair of the Coil – but if you have checked against maps you probably already have this.

If it is the skin you like rather than the stats/exotic level you can get it in Rata Sum.
And the other thing, are you sure you are trying to buy the right class of armour for your profession (light, medium or heavy) – hover over the armour icons in the vendor window and it should pop up to tell you what sort of armour it is.
Are you buying from the cultural armoursmith for your race? i.e. if you are human you can only buy/wear human cultural armour, and it can only be bought from the cultural armoursmith in your race’s capitol city. Human = Divinity’s Reach, Asura = Rata Sum, etc.
Cultural weapons are different by the way, any race can buy and weild any other race’s cultural weapons.
I thought all mob fire elementals were called embers. The only exception is the big fire elemental in the reactor in metrica.
For the OP this page says there are also some in Malchor’s leap, I can’t remember where they would be but hopefully someone else will.
The only SECOND exception is fire elementals summoned by elementalists (either players or elementalist mobs) :-)
True, true – but as an elementalist myself I never think of them as a mob – they’re more like a pet
Hi Elowin, after talking to you last night and reading your post today I would recommend that you try to find a large PVE friendly guild on your own server. If you are only wanting a bit of co-operation with certain areas or events within maps, belonging to a large server-based guild will probably yield better results for you when you ask if there is anyone nearby to help/join-up with you.
You wouldn’t even need to party up with them from some things, but it can help in some instances as you can see party members as dots on your mini-map. If you want to dungeon you will need to party up – the recommended number for a dungeon party is 5 people.
With a bit of luck you will find a large guild that offers organised activities, perhaps group map clearance on a certain day, or guild dungeon runs – you could go along and pick up any bits you may have missed with the support of others. Another option would be to use their guild chat to ask if there is currently anyone from the guild on that same map as you and then you can whisper them to see if they would lend a hand.
Whilst you are more than welcome to stick with us in the Legion, we don’t have any active players on your server (I don’t think) so we can’t really offer you the sort of guild support you are looking for – always up for a chat though
And you can be in more than one guild at a time (up to 4 or 5).

You’ll find some in and around Mount Maelstrom – not sure if they drop molten cores but they are levelled 60-70. I know they are in the Volcano bit itself and they might also be around Mon Maelstrom to the south – it’s been a while since I was there.
Is this just happening to you today or was it like this before? They patched yesterday and it caused a problem with jumping (it broke it!) but apparently they patched again and fixed it – maybe this has not worked for Mac Beta clients – maybe submit a support ticket?
I’ve been at level 80 for probably about a month now and I’m doing bits of all those things you listed above. I suppose my priority when I got to 80 was trying to get some exoctic armour, then an exotic weapon and some accessories and I’d been keeping up with my crafting so it was really just a bit of farming which gathered the last few mats I needed to make my own.
Now I am starting to do dungeons, spending more time in WvW (partly because of world completion!), visiting unfinished maps, and levelling alts. My advice would be to do whatever takes your fancy. However, you may have a more focused goal like a legendary in which case it would be worth targetting activities that will help you with that.
Today kitten requires gifs to work on the forum, so here’s hoping gif attachments work on the forum.
ROFL – that was me last night! Exactly that as I tried to sneak past the corrupted elementals and whack the Claw of Jormag on the nose with my staff – thanks Kaii
I don’t understand. There are no point of interest at demongrrub pits. Does it mean map completion of 100% does not mean you are done with the area?
There are two types of exploration reward/achievement in the game.
Firstly you have 100% map completion, this is where you have visted every waypoint, vista, poi and Skill point on every map (including WvW maps) and completed all hearts. For this you get given two gifts of exploration per character that gets 100% these can be used to craft legendary weapons.
The second explorer type is the regional explorer achievements which are gained for uncovering all of the areas of the maps which have names shown in white. This is what the OP is referencing as all of the Krytan maps (Queensdale, Garenddan, Harathi, etc) have a total of 175 white named areas to be discovered. The reward for getting these are achievement points.
Hope this clarifies.
Hey Z, the storyline for dungeons is something that starts as part of your personal story – I don’t want to put any spoilers in just in case you are a lore-hound and like to find these things out for yourself
You will get an email when you turn 30 which basically guides you towards the first dungeon. You can either form a group in Lions Arch or in the map that the dungeon is in (Plains of Ashford in this case) by posting something along the lines or LFG AC Story (=Looking for group Ascalonian Catacombs Story mode). Or as you are a member of the Operation:union group just give us a shout in guild chat and I’m sure we can gather enough people to make a party for you (this works best at the weekend usually).
Edit: Although dungeons are connected to your personal story they aren’t a requirement so if you don’t want to go near a dungeon at 30 that is fine, it won’t interfere with you carrying on with the story chapters. I’ve only just recently started on dungeons now my character is at level 80.

Is it just me or is that some nasty clipping going on there?
I can see what you mean but I think it’s just taken from an awkward angle and the character is actually weilding the axe right in front if their face – don’t think it’s poking through from the back.
I’ve had a look but can’t track down the thread I’m thinking of. Maybe it was that you couldn’t equip two of the same legendary, like two Incinerator daggers?
Can you equip two legendaries, I’m sure I read a post here the other day that said you could only equip one as they are unique items? – not sure though, happy to be corrected.
Gathering tools are account bound so you couldn’t sell it on the TP and even if you could, no one would be daft enough to buy it for 600g. So as an exploit or a way to turn karma into gold this is not viable.
Edit: if there are gathering tools on the TP these are likely leftovers from early beta or something, there are apparently a few spurious items on there that need cleaning up.
This is a good page for the recipes, etc.

@Glitch – I got more slots yesterday, when I thought I couldn’t invite someone because we were full again – so we should have more space but I don’t know how to check what our new limit is.
Sorry, I couldn’t edit my post – the second link has pictures of the armour from the side and back as well which might help with the neck issue.
Try either of these two sites, they have Charr models for most of the armour sets, in particular those available at level 80, but also crafted sets.
That was from me Wildcode – don’t know why it wouldn’t let you reply. You can PM me here though, that’s probably easier.
Without wanting to spoil it for you, if one of your outstanding areas is Cursed Shore your story will take you there anyway. But there is no reason why you can’t do as you suggest and finish up your story before going back to exploring – Tyria will be there when you get back from Orr
You’ll get some achievement points, XP and a few items I think for finishing the last few chapters of the story – I’m at about the same place in mine as you are so I’m not sure what you get at the end.
@LithePanther – yes, we have a guild that operates cross server. It’s largely a chat based guild, although we do some cross server dungeoning between our EU-EU or NA-NA membership. Anet’s promise of guesting can’t come soon enough for most of us
Neither can the website that Glitch promised us so we can be a bit more organised
@Uwo – you don’t have to change server if you don’t want to, we do have some members on Yak’s Bend already.
@Ridley, Riiko and Uwo – I won’t be in game before this evening so I’ll check then to see if invites have been sent you all – welcome in advance
Here’s a good screen shot guide but you might need to try youtube to see particle effects, etc
Two places were added in with the Halloween update, Tribulation Caverns and Foresaken Halls. The first is in the bottom left corner of Dredgehaunt and the second is in the top left of the same map, near Wyrmblood lake. Both are one the wiki.
I have a mesmer and an ele and although you can avoid AOE on an ele it easier to do with a mesmer and gives you more weapon choice – haven’t tried a necro so can’t advise there.
@nottsgman – adding to the Asuran army
I give you Protector Binky and Pipet Golemwrangler (as requested) – and did I just make the 800th post?! Yeah!
Glitch was in too much of a rush to spend his AC tokens after hitting 80 last night that he ran off before the photo opportunity. Probably for the best, the boy needs some armour so he doesn’t have to run dungeons in his underwear any more
So here’s most of the gang from last nights AC explore, with the NPC standing in for Glitch.
There are trainers for each profession in every capitol city and Lion’s Arch – they’ll be marked by a book on your map.
Ok, we should be up to date with invites. If you’re not sure if you’ve had one yet please press G whilst in game to bring up your Guild Panel – you should see The Legion of Honour in your list of available guilds if we’ve done our job properly and sent you an invite
If not please just post back here and ask again.
Nice to see you on the foum Snowhound – my new favourite word of the day is now gopping
Give me a shout if you are doing any dungeons tonight.
Lol, much better – although ninja is a better look than pirate imo.
Haha, no! Can’t see your beautiful face at all – rocking the ninja secrecy look though
@FGreenOak – good to be able to put some ingame faces to our fellow guildies – although next time can you turn around to face the camera?
Cultural weapons are available for karma and are not actually restricted by race. So if you’re a Norn you can weild a Sylvari sword, etc. Vendors for these are found in each Races capitol city.
Edit: Sorry, just checked, these are only rare quality – not sure if exotic karma ones are available.
I’d definitely go with Gunnar’s Hold. not only are Lexy and Glitch on there (which is reason enough if you ask me), but I also hear that it’s a great server to be on.
Glitch is on Aurora Glade.
I was trying to chase the Skritt Burglar down in the Plains of Ashford last night, and prior to that I’ve seen her in Queensdale and Metrica Province. Not sure if she’s ever spotted outside of starting zones.
I haven’t seen the Modus Sceleris, but then they don’t look like a big treasure chest so there’s every chance I just walked on by.
A lot of people tend to use the starter zones for this as there is a wide variety of easily killable enemies, lots of mats which aren’t crawling with risen, and a good, regular cycle of short or chained DE’s. I know a few people who have an alt parked in their favoruite starter zone just to do their daily with.
tl:dr – pick your favourite starter zone!
Yeah! Well Done
They added Vexx’s Lab into Fireheart Rise during the Shadow of the Mad King release – have you got that?
