Have you seen these recipes? There doesn’t seem to be one with Healing but there are a couple with vitality. Some of the rings have healing stats.

And so I bring you all the tale of feisty elementalist Tulaah (Lexy) and her trusty ranger sidekick Raith Neill (Bri) – a more fearsome pair of adventurers you have yet to meet (unless you’ve already met us of course).

Imagine, dear reader, a dark and gloomy ship wreck on the southern coast of the Cursed Shore. On the beach our intrepid adventurers struggle through the mobs of (surprisingly speedy) risen thralls, burning the corpses of fallen comrades as they go. Somewhere along the way they’ve picked up a random guardian who was obviously in need of support from the two strongest professions that Tyria has to offer – bless.

From deep within the rotting wreck comes the challenging roar of the ghostly Pirate Captain. The party advances across the slimy deck, intent on serving the Pirate Captain his ghostly ‘whatevers’ on a plate before making off with his loot. The strategy is simple; send in the guardian ‘meat-shield’ to tank in melee (it’s not like they ever met him before) whilst they deal some damage from range – simple!

However, the tide turns when the Pirate Captain shows a particular fondness for the ranger sidekick – perhaps she reminded him of someone who owed him money? The feisty elementalist and the seemingly unattractive ‘meat shield’ could only stand (and laugh) and stare in amazement as the crazy pirate chased the frantic ranger up and down the passageways of the crumbling wreck. Not even the rapidly spawning risen crew could resist joining the ‘Benny Hill’ style mob train which rapidly caught up with and brutally killed the brave (yet frustratingly slow) ranger.

So, dear reader, the moral of the story is this; if you’re a feisty elementalist take two sidekicks into Orr with you – risen are so fickle with who they’d rather eat, its best to give them a choice whilst you run away with your speed buff on

tl:dr – Bri got chased by a mob whilst I stood by and laughed – it was funny

My understanding is that your aqua-breather replaces the stats and rune of your helm/head piece when underwater. So depending on what level or stats your helm is you may see very little difference between the two as the majority of your armour is still bearing the brunt of any damage.

However, if you have a rune on your helm and not on your aqua breather you will loose out on the rune bonus when in water. As the OP is on a character of level 51, you may not feel a difference in combat now but this will effect your overall stats in higher levels as you upgrade your out-0of-water helm piece but not your breather.

Thanks everyone for your messages and support for my unfortunate ‘accident’ last night – especially from those of you who couldn’t even play the event because of timezones/etc – I have had some time to calm down and have moved from thermo-nuclear to marginally-fuming.

I in no way want to turn this into a thread about what went wrong with the event or the pros/cons of having ‘one-time’ events, but I did want to share with you all part of the feedback I sent to Anet as part of my support ticket. Personally, the sense of community and support shown by the group I went through the event with was the one thing that kept me on for 2.5hrs – although the NA-EU party chat and screams of “hatchling, hatchlings – not the face!!!” from me and Bri on mumble did help too.

And I would do it all again, lag and all, if I knew that the sense of community would be there again from everyone – and that I wouldn’t freeze and loose out on my chest of lovely loot

I loved the first 2.5hrs of the event – the last 10 minutes I do not want to talk about – far too angry!!!!!

Yes, happened to me too after 2.5hrs of fighting on the overflow server – rezzing people and pushing on, finally reached the final stage chasing him down the ramp to the bottom and game froze. Had to log back in – no reward.

I had a great time doing this but having seen some of the rewards others got from the chest I am really pissed as this was not my fault. I will be posting a seperate ticket in the hopes that something might be done for those of us who put in the time and effort and were denied the end reward.

I think you can actually get cotton from both those places, just pick the higher level part of the Harathi map and the lower end of the Dredgehaunt one. Bloodtide Coast might also be a good solution (the lower level end I think…)

If your sibling joined the ‘wrong realm’ as their initial server choice upon first downloading/starting the game I think (but am not 100% sure) that they are still entitled to a free server transfer straight away (i.e. they are not tied in to waiting 7 days).

However if your sibling transferred to a current server from a different one whilst you were sleeping then they will have to wait 7 days before they can transfer anywhere else. You could always transfer to them and then in 7 days both of you could transfer elsewhere is you wanted.

Try hovering your mouse around the edges of the mini-map. The point at which you can pick it up and drag it is quite localised, but you should see your mouse icon change when you hit it.

Count me in for dungeons! I’ve still got the whole of Ascalon to map, but I could do with a break from hearts, POIs, waypoints and vistas.
Level 80 elementalist, I think my traiting is probably fine as I’m not too squishy and built for condition damage. Happy to take advice from other ele players though.

There is an elementalist section on this forum, you should repost there as its the best place for build advice. You will also be able to find some examples posted there

I killed a risen raptor near the Cathedral of Silence vista last night and it completed my daily variety for that day. I’d killed all sorts of other risen on the way down so I’m not sure why this one counted as a different variety.

Hello to FGreenOak, Seras and GuardianHope – glad you all found us intriguing enough to stop in and say hello. One of us with the necessary ‘button-pressing’ permissions will send you an invite to the O:U guild and (even if you don’t join us all the time) you can have a chat with us in game and get to know us all. I’m not in game till tomorrow night (UK time) but hopefully one of the others will do this sooner.

They are most likely going to be connected to the Lost Shores update this weekend. They did a similar thing last month with some of the monthly tasks only being revealed when the Mad King event went live.

Are you sure you are checking for the amount of copper increasing each time you accept a heart email? If you are expecting the number of gold in you account to increase from these you are reading the emails wrong – you only get copper for completing hearts (silver at higher levels).

Yes, this. It’s unfortunate but it happens more often then you’d think. It won’t help retrieve your items but for future the best way to set up an email to someone is to right click on their name and choose the ‘Send mail’ option. This way you don’t accidently miss type a user id or character name. If he’s a guildie the easiest way is to open up the guild member list, find him in the list and right click to access the mail option.

Just to confirm, I have level 400 in Artificer, Tailor, Chef and Jeweller. If you have anything you’re hankering after from any of these crafts and you can supply the mats then just give me a shout – I’m more than happy to craft and return said item to you for no fee – Guildie’s perks

Maybe when we get our Operation:Union website (no pressure Glitch!) we can have a section that details all the Guild’s crafters so people can find and contact them more easily.

Is this one of the doors you need a dwarven key to open? They drop as loot pick ups from mobs. With some of these doors you can also just walk close to them (rub up against) to trigger the poi inside.

If it is a dwarven key door and you can’t find one, try posting in map chat to see if anyone close by has one and is able to come and open the door for you.

Have you posted this in the tech support area of the forum? That would seem to be the best place to seek advice in this instance.

The new level 80 (Southsun Cove) will remain after the weekend. During the weekend all players will be levelled up to 80 so they can participate in events on the island, after the event is over that feature will be removed and it will be a level 80 explorable area.

From what I can tell you need to enter the Chantry twice. Once is through the cave entrance in Bloodtide Coast, which you can get as soon as you enter that map. The second Chantry explore is obtained later after you unlock a new access route through an asura gate in Fort Trinity (Straits of Devastation) – again, I think this access is granted through your story, but I haven’t reached it yet.

The most reliable check list I’ve found for map completion doesn’t include The Bilge as an area that counts. I would suggest you use this to check all other maps first.

Have you done your personal story on Claw Island? I think some areas are discovered there and it is only available through your story.

How high is your critical chance? Perhaps you just haven’t hit anything with a critical strike to trigger the sigil’s effect?

To get to 80 you would need to master all crafts, how many boosters would depend on how many hours you think it will take you.

If you want a good guide to follow for each craft I suggest this site, but make sure you read through each tier’s levelling section (e.g. 100 – 200) to fully understand what you need to do, it can be easy to underestimate/overestimate the amount of mats, refinements or discoveries you need to make.

Also, unless you have a huge stack of mats already collected this is going to be expensive.

You can get Power/Precision/Condition Damage from crafted coral jewellery, but none of the other crafted versions give your preferred stats. There is also an item called the Triforge Pendant (which I think you make with a mystic forge recipe) which has a wider range of stats which include toughness/precision/cond dmg amonst others.

As for predicting where you might get this as a loot drop, I’m not sure such prediction is possible.

Another vote here for Gunnar’s Hold – very chatty and usually friendly and helpful people. Reasonably populated maps, lets face it – you’re only really going to go to some of them if you absolutely have to!

You can transfer when a server drops in population from ‘full’ to ‘high’ – this usually happens as players log off the game in off-peak hours. It might be a question of setting your alarm clock to check in the middle of the night, but yes, it will be possible for you to move server.

If you look at the map on the Timberline Falls page of the wiki you will find Tail of the Serpent in the bottom east corner of the map, just above Liar of the Coil.

I’d recommend you use this list to check against (scroll down to find the Shiverpeak section). You don’t need to revisit any specific map to do the checking, you can open up your map wherever you are. Drag the map to one of the Shiverpeak zones and zoom in until the white area names become visable, check them against the list and keep doing this for each area until you find the missing one.

Yes, the server you pick is the server all your characters are on. If you have a particular server you want and it is currently full you have two options.
1. Don’t choose any server now (meaning you can’t continue with creating characters/playing the game) and watch the population on your favoured server. As people start to log off in off-peak hours the population should fall from full to high and you can join.

2. Join any server now and continue with the game. You can switch servers for free once every 7 days so you can keep checking the population of your favoured server and if it drops below full you can move (all you characters, etc will move with you).

@Kyouhei – I’ll be honest I don’t know how GH population compares to others, this is the only server I’ve ever been on. I’m sure it sometimes dips in population in certain maps, but I’ve never found it to be a really significant (population extinct) problem and I’ve been going all over the place recently for my world completion.

The only time I ever get put in overflow is the occasional move to LA and to be fair that was really only over the Halloween event when everyone seemed to set up shop there for the best part of two weeks.

I can’t say about the queues to get into WvW, haven’t been. But I also haven’t heard anyone else complaining about it anywhere in chat.

If you choose to move to GH I’m sure you’d be welcomed – it does often show as a ‘full’ server but I’m sure you know that you just need to wait around/check back in off peak hours for it to move to high.

I an also experiencing the exact same thing after logging out for the game update that happened this evening. When I went to log back in I received the ‘serious error’ message. I too have sent Anet the file several times.

The craftable masquerade set is not the same as the PvP locker Masquerade set. It obviously causes people to purchase crafted masquerade sets from the TP and then be disappointed when its not the same as they were expecting.

So, whilst yours is a nice offer, it’s not going to help the OP get the shoulders that they want.

Gunnar’s Hold is good for PvE. Always people talking in map chat as you explore, lots of lfg for various dungeons in LA. We’re about middle of the table for WvW I think so its obviously something that people do on the server, but I do all PvE and haven’t had any problems.
