If its the one I’m thinking of it is a group event and the creatures come through the portal in waves (6 or 7 if I recall) so if you were by yourself I can see how they could start to stack up. Sounds like you made a valiant effort but next time you might want to map chat out for some help.
Yes, the more the merrier on Gunnar’s Hold. Server fluctuates between high and full but you should be able to get on if you time it right. If you do decide to join GH feel free to add me and bri.2359 to your contacts and give us a shout if you see us online.
I think I like this idea (although I’m yet to get my first character to 80). I think it would keep you thinking whilst grinding/exploring, etc about how you can strategise for these achivements. It might mean trying out different weapon/utility combos than you’re used to and challenge you to adapt to a different play style.
I can see that it would add a little something to the post-80 experience, perhaps if these class-based skill only unlocked at level 70+.
Someone else posted that this happened to their Charr after removing the Mad King Outfit they bought from the Gem shop – not sure if that applies to you but you’re not alone.
Suggest you submit it as a bug and see if they respond that’s its intentional.
In short there is no definitive answer. This question has been asked before, here’s some examples I found do a simple search on the forum.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/players/pvp-masquerade-raiments-PVE-skin/first#post452902
The only way I’ve found is to add one, then preview the post and use the browse button to attach another – repeat until you’ve attached all the ones you want.
Hi Caini
Firstly, have a read through the first post here for some hints and tips about gameplay.
Secondly, yes you have a home server. Currently you can transfer to a different server every 24hrs for free but this is only temporary whilst populations settle and Anet sort out the guesting feature which is due to be introduced. After this stops you will still be able to make a server move but it will cost (probably gems). However, if guesting is in place then you should still be able to play with friends on other servers.
Not sure about PvP as I haven’t played it – hopefully someone else can answer this for you.
You should know that it is possible to do dungeon runs now with people from other servers as long as they are invited into your party and enter the dungeon on their server at the same time as you do on yours. It is also possible to chat cross-server so you’re not completely isolated from people you may know on different servers.
Hope this helps.
The last post should clear this up for you.

Just one thing about the jumping puzzles… as far as I’m aware they were actually already in game, just added achievements for them.
No, these are new jumping puzzles not previously accessible – they will remain in the world after the Halloween event finishes so you don’t need to worry about missing them.
Are you wearing one of the items? You can’t be wearing either whilst carrying out a trans.
Thank you OP – I didn’t play GW1 but this is certainly the long-term attitude I had and still have as a GW2 player.
I want to still be playing this game in a years+ time, still be enjoying it, still searching out the rare and unusual because I can’t buy them from the Gem shop or pick them up after every other boss fight.
I opened 5 BLC this morning with keys I had saved up from drops/completions over the last week. Did I get any rare skins – no; am I distraught – no. Also, who knows what opportunities the other Halloween acts will bring?
I’ve yet to see evidence anywhere that Anet are ‘asking’ you to buy anything at all…
Hi Lamefox
Welcome to Gunnar’s Hold – feel free to get in touch with Bri, LokiShi or myself as we are all on GH (not sure if Loki has decided to stay or not yet ).
I know Bri and I don’t wander into the world of WvW at all really, although I’m certainly not opposed to it I’ve just got my hands full with levelling and world/story completion. However if you’re ever looking for PvE company or just a server chat to pass the time we’d be happy to help.
Just thought I’d share this link here for people who perhaps don’t check the genereal discussion page – great preview video of some of the halloween features.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Guild-Wars-2-Halloween-update-video/first#post498581
There has also been confirmation on the general discussion forum.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Release-time-Halloween/page/2#post497847
Anet response is about a 3rd of the way down the 2nd page.
My alt is a male toon, a human thief. I also have a male Charr but I’m not sure about him yet. So yes akamon, girls do play as male toons too
My understanding is that at the moment you can only do dungeon with someone on another server if they are from the same region. i.e. If you are on an NA server you can only dungeon run with others on NA servers, same for those of us on EU servers only having access to others on EU servers.
If both you and your friend are on EU servers I would log the issue with support. As for guesting, don’t know.
Hi Glitch
Sorry to hear that you are feeling so despondent, but none the less I’m going to offer you some tough love rather than a shoulder to cry on. I think you are expecting too much too soon and growing a community, just like the game itself, takes time and shouldn’t be forced.
You’ve made a great start in bringing together people who feel the same way as you and offering others a way to get in touch. I know for a fact that my enjoyment of the game has increased even more since I started socialising with others in the game. But I’ve only been playing the game for a month and actively socialising with strangers in game for a little over a week, even those who were involved in beta events and early release haven’t been playing that long in terms of a sustaining, dynamic online game.
As for your dungeon experiences, well I’m not one to judge because I haven’t done one yet, but I imagine that some people enter into them not really prepared for what they will find or how different the communication needs to be from normal PvE game play. The complexity and need for teamwork is probably a little overwhelming and I imagine in some cases panic sets in. If you are serious about helping new players with these experiences I’m afraid you are going to have to face the reality that this will happen and keep happening. If you can’t deal with the possibility that each time you go in with an inexperienced group it might all go to hell in hand basket then perhaps you need to rethink that part of your role in the UNION community. It most certainly does not mean give up your ideals altogether!
If you want to do dungeons for yourself, to gain experience, tokens, etc then do that – you’ll be a much more helpful person at the end of it. Perhaps don’t try combining your need/desire to run dungeons with your desire to help people. Too much too soon and all of that…
So there you go, I’ve said my piece and I hope it helps you think about where you want to go from here. I for one would be sad to see you vanish back into the game, but I would certainly understand if sometimes you didn’t want to be vanguard for a community spirit which is not yet really up and running.
Good things come to those that wait (and patiently work towards them)
(edited by Lexy.3912)
This thread should answer that for you.
With those sort of numbers and no hearts outstanding I’d be tempted to check you have been to all the cities with your character.
Part of me wishes I’d picked a ranger as my first class too, they are nicely versatile. I went with an elementalist as I’ve always been fond of caster classes. They are a little squishy and because, like you, I was new to MMO games I went for build that countered the squishy aspects. I may not be the most powerful elementalist in Tyria but I can stay the course in a fight – always more enjoyable than dying.
And whatever you choose to start off with make sure you give them a decent chance, it took me to about lvl 25 to really get the feel for my main; which weapon combo I preferred, good combos to lay down when fighting with other classes, etc.
Just have fun with it.
I’m not even going to ask what you want to compare them to. But, I think there are some little quaggans in Bloodtide Coast. Try the Quaggan village on the south-west side of Laughing Gull Island. There’s also a heart quest somewhere near there that involves quaggan children learning to raise crabs (don’t ask!).
Just to keep you all updated and to fuel my love of screenies (sorry Bri & Loki!) Here’s the fun going on right now in LA Gunnar’s Hold as it turned midnight and we kicked off Pink Day in LA
For those of you who don’t know, Pink Day in LA is about gamers supporting breast cancer awareness by dressing your favourite character all in pink and parading round LA with everyone else on 20th October. So, get your dyes out people and redo your armour for the day in support of a good cause and just because its fun
http://www.pinkday.gamergivingback.com/
Here’s a shot of everyone getting down with their bad selves on the dance floor (mystic forge square!) and Me, Bri, a big pink Norn and a tiny pink Asura watch the fireworks provided by one of the local guilds.
Oh and Bri reached level 80 today – yeah Bri!
Welcome to all our new posters as well. <Waves>
We got to all applaud bri tomorrow when she reaches 80!
Ah Glitch … Hate to disappoint but I’m a bloke … !
Yep sorry, this was me misleading everyone into thinking Bri was a woman – my bad!
@Noppy we look forward to seeing you on GH. We’re planning to celebrate Bri’s meteoric rise to level 80 when she gets there tomorrow, I’m sure we can spare a glass of wine and a slice of cake if you (or any other UNIONists) want to join us in LA.
We’d love to have more fellow UNIONists on Gunnar’s Hold, but I just wanted to make sure that people contemplating a move know that it is primarily an EU server. It might make a difference to your decision to move – although at the moment you can still move back for free so there’d be no harm in trying it out.
Such a shame OP to have given up after just a week. I don’t know how many levels you played your various characters for but I didn’t really get the feel for mine until about level 30. Until that point I was swapping between various alts trying to decide which one felt right as my main.
jpegs work fine in my experience, I’m always posting in game screenshots and they are jpeg files.
Also, when you go to post or reply to a thread there is an option highlighted in red ‘More posting & formatting options…’ Click this and it will give you an option to attach a picture, this way you don’t need to link to an external hosting site.
Happy hunting ;o)
There’s quite a lot of speculation around the actual number. This site is good if you want to check for any you may be missing, although they do say they are not a complete list but its the best I’ve found.
http://flufffactor.wordpress.com/gw2-dye-list/
There was also another post on this forum a while back where people were discussing this, if I can find it I’ll post up the link.
EDIT: Here you go https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/players/How-many-dyes-are-there/first#post392324
Also, I don’t know how dynamic the number of dyes is going to be. For example there’s Pink Day in LA on the 20th Oct and then the Halloween event and maybe Anet will add new dyes for these events or for events in the future.

Hey Glitch this was never about power it was always about Union – we were thrilled when Lokishi just up and server jumped after chatting to us in game for a while. We have no expectations, if he wants to stay that would be great but if Gunnar’s Hold doesn’t feel like home we totally understand. We were just made up to have a third.
Also, cross server party chat is fun – you don’t have to be on the same server to be in the same party for chat. So Glitch, expect a call soon…
You should all know that Gunnar’s Hold is launching a full out UNION scavenge from other servers – tonight we bagged ourselves LokiShi from Crystal Desert – can we keep them, that’s the question?
Nice Lexy and Bri, I just finished that myself. I have been thinking more and more about a server switch, and even though you both are on an EU server it kind of seems like a good idea. But, I don’t know I haven’t really made any decisions yet.
You know we’d welcome you to Gunnar’s Hold with open arms. I’m not quite sure where you are or what the time difference would be, but I’m sure there would be times at weekends that we would be on at the same time.
And @Famine – I’ll add you in game too, feel free to get in touch with us if you want some company around the Gunnar’s Hold server.
Here’s a final one for the night – Bri and I celebrating out successful completion of Lornar’s Pass – dance it out ladies, dance it out.
Bri and I (and Cuddles) taking a dinner break in Lornar’s Pass. Hope this is a safe rock to sit on…
I think this is called the Tribal set in PvE – there have been a few posts with people looking for it. The set called Masquarade in PvE is very different in appearance.
Try a forum search for Tribal armour to see if anyone has located it in PvE yet.
I don’t see how that could be possible, you can’t even get to Bloodtide Coast from Gendarran Fields without going through LA.
You might have seen this http://gw2cartographers.com/ it’s not perfect but I use it to get a ‘bigger picture’ of the whole place.
I think the trigger is completing the three surrounding events of driving off underworld creatures from Heartswood, the monestary and Tammin Foothills. This this sets off the two group events in the swamp. I have been involved in this fight but wasn’t there when it started.

Please don’t quote me on this, becuase I haven’t actually been into WvW to get these waypoints, but my understanding is that you have two choices.
1. This is the longer option – each time the WvW servers are reset/rematched you might have the opportunity to be in control of new areas of the map, thus opening up waypoint that were previously held by the enemy. I think this is the final point that Crake is making in his post above.
2. The somewhat shorter option – I’ve read that some people server jump to find servers that hold the map areas they need for waypoint collection. Then transfer out again after the 24hr waiting time.
If I am wrong about this I am happy to be corrected.
If you see the reply from Crake above you still need to discover those WvW waypoints, even though they show up on your map.
the WvW waypoints are automatically discovered upon entering the map, but they still need to actually be discovered to count. Each borderland has its own set of 6 waypoints, so you’ll need to go to each one to get them all. Also all WvW points of interest, vistas and skillpoints count towards world completion.
Its unfortunate that you waited this long to do 100% world, because 1 week matches can make it take very long to get some of the almost never moving points in the eternal battlegrounds.
I thought the green colour might be one called celery…guess it’s pretty subjective.
This might help you narrow down possibilites though. This link has all (or almost all) the possible dye colours demonstrated on armour and it’s handy too because they’ve bunched them into colour sets so you can browse through all the green options in one go, then use the links at the top to jump to all the greys, etc.
http://flufffactor.wordpress.com/2012/05/15/gw2-green/#Top
Happy hunting!
Perhaps if you can post a screen shot then those who have a large collection of dyes might be able to make some suggestions. I have quite a few dyes but have not seen the NPC you’re talking about.
If you have mastered the tailoring craft can you not make yourself a pair of winged leggings? Then use a transmuitation stone to combine them with exalted leggings you have also crafted? If the exalted leggings are a level 80 item you may need a fine transmutation stone and you can’t be wearing either item at the time.
Your position on the map looks a bit too far north for the air elemental you can see to be part of Griffinhook Run, but then again I haven’t actually done the jumping puzzle so I’m not sure if puzzle does go further north then the area indicated on the map.

Apoloigies to the OP, I have just seen this little anomaly report at the bottom of the wiki page about the Master mining pick.
“Anomaly – Picks appear to vary in quality, ranging from Copper Mining Pick to Orichalcum Mining Pick.”
So it must be a luck-of-the-draw thing about what quality pick you get. The Black Lion one should be ok though.
Yes they do, according to the wiki at least.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Gathering_tool#Mining_picks
You would need to find/buy 3 other major runes of the same type and add them to three other pieces of your armour – unlocking all of the benefits it lists.
Hi
The wiki is a good place to start, they have a whole load of game basics linked on the main page. Might help clear up some of your starting questions.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Main_Page
Also, Apex posted a similar question just below yours and I replied back with some other thread links that you might find useful so check that out too.
Enjoy the game!
Hey there Apex, you’re going to love this game!
Start with this thread, I found it really useful when starting out. It’s stickied to the top of this forum.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/players/OMG-If-you-only-knew-this-tips-for-new-players/page/3#post402548
Also, have a look here to see if there are other players on your server, people who you can ask for help or run with when you’re online at the same time – if that’s something that you want from the game.
Hope this helps you out, maybe I’ll meet you in Tyria.
I’ve just started trying to learn more about these, now that I’m joining up with others more in game – I found the wiki pages quite helpful.
