Personally I can’t stand this armour set, but the number of times people ask about it on this forum I must be in the miority.
This post should give you as much information as anyone currently has, sorry you’re probably not going to like the answer…

You can still transfer and servers do drop out of ‘full’ into high so that you can access them – it is just a waiting game I’m afraid. You might want to set your alarm clock for the early hours of the morning. Stick with it, I’m sure you’ll be able to join your friends eventually.
Although the numbers do differ slightly, which (as both are part of the same wiki) is a bit strange – I’ve found this page to be more accurate for the explorer achievements.
i would like to be able to apply bleeding on underwater foes, and watch as sharks come and chew them up, assisting in my kills.
also, i don’t see my elite (whirlpool) animation. my character simply disappears, and i cannot tell if i am doing damage (perception is a bit poor when i cannot see my character or the skill’s effects).
I couldn’t see my ele’s whirlpool effect either, until yesterday. Don’t know why but suddenly it came back.
@Kaii
Yes, thank you, that is what I meant but you explain it much better than I (she) do
I’ll agree that underwater combat seems more clunky and not as powerful, however there are a couple of things to do to make sure you are getting the best out of your toons abilities.
Firstly, make sure your underwater weapons and aquabreather are inline with your level – as with armour and weapons above ground having ‘old’ gear can really impact your effectiveness.
Secondly, not all utilities can be used underwater but you can set different underwater utilities (slots 7-0) and they won’t swap back when you get out of water. I’ve found this particularly useful with my ele as the arcane utilities work well underwater and pack a nice punch of damage.
One word of caution, I’ve found it more effective to stick to single target damage options when fighting underwater. Anything that causes a wider damage range has a tendency to pull in annoying barracuda, thundershrimps and hermit crabs which would have otherwise left you alone.
If one of the items is a level 80 you will need a fine (rather than basic) transmutation stone.
Did you happen to enter a new area of the map whilst you were fighting with the champion? – opening up the areas with the place names in white counts towards the various regional exploration achievements.
This page shows those EU servers which are dedicated to a european language other than english. That doesn’t mean that you don’t get other languages in map chat on the ‘english’ speaking ones from time to time. I’m on Gunnar’s Hold and almost all map chat is in english.

You can also use this link to tell you the nationality of registered guilds on a specific server.

And just for the record, I hardly think the person who replied to you was being hostile, it was a legitimate question based on the tone of your orginial post – if you think I’m hostile too please feel free to report me for saying this.
Name: Lionbeard
Main Character: Fauxstep
Current Server: Devona’s Rest
Interested Activities: Socialising, Dungeons, PvE, Occasional PvP
Active: Play afternoons, after work
Additional Comments: My buddies and I just started playing yesterday, we’re from Australia and are keen to have some social fun with a casual guild/friends. Having a hard time finding anyone around on our server! Are transfers free? Where should we go? :OAre you willing to participate in Operation: UNION’S project, Y/N?:
Absolutely
Hi Lionbeard – a warm Operation:Union to our Anitpodean friends
I believe the unofficial oceanic servers are Sea of Sorrows and maybe the Isle of Janthir, perhaps other members can confirm this for you. Transfers are currently free and have recently been restricted to once every 7 days, so you might want to do a bit of research before you and your friends make a server move.
Also, a lot of the servers now show as full when you look at the World Selection menu from the main character select screen – the trick is to check during off-peak times when more people have logged off. This will usual move the server from full to high population and allow you to transfer.
Here’s a link to the up-to-date server list, you can click on each one and it will show you all the guilds on that server and their nationality – this may help you find a new home.

Hope to see you on guild chat soon.
Lexy
Yes, it is correct.
With no outstanding Skill points or hearts it suggests you are missing one of the six cities? But if you’re sure you’ve been to them all… Have you revisited each map to check it reads 100%, I have seen a couple of posts that report roll-backs?
It is not POIs, Skills points, way points and vistas that count towards the 175 explorer for Kryta or any other region. It is the discovery of the areas on each map which show their names in white. These, added up across all the different maps total 175 and the link that the first replier put in their post gives you links to a list that you can check them all off.
You don’t even need to go to each specific area to check for completion, just open your world map from wherever you are and zoom in on each Kryta area until the white names reveal themselves and then check them against the list on the wiki, this will show you which one you are missing. Then you’ll know which map you need to visit and where to go to reveal the missing area.
Hope you find it.

Hello Onewing, the Stormbluff contingent will be pleased to see you I’m sure (I’m on Gunnar’s Hold). I’ll be in game in the morning so if you haven’t been sent a guild invite by then I’ll be sure to do it.
Welcome, we are a really laid back, but social group and hopefully we are heading towards being more organised for group activities for those who want them.
Looking forward to chatting to you in game soon.
Lexy
I think this is the one you mean.
I don’t know, because I haven’t done this event, but might it be cumulative? You repeat the event a few times, freeing 1-2 crystals each time until you get your five?
This is only a suggestion, I’d be interested to know the right answer for when I get to face the Shatterer myself.
I know this will probably happen to me too when I get closer to 100% map completion, but this did make me laugh – thanks
Not really no, short of stepping into each map to check whether it is 100% for vistas, skills, waypoints and poi’s.
I’ve started taking a screenshot of any map that I get to 100% on so that I can check those rather than having to tour the world again.
Of course, having 100% completion on a map doesn’t necessarily mean that you have visited everywhere (the white area names) which count towards that regions explorer achievement.
Did you try the Asura Lab in the middle/western edge of Timberline Falls?
This, the merchant name is Danka and she is inside the lab by Fisher’s Eye Bridges.
I was just here this evening but this Asura is selling an experimental teleportation rifle/gun for 32 copper. From the OP’s description of what his experimental rifle does I’m not sure its the same one.
Firstly, I think a website is a good idea if anyone has the time to set-up and maintain it. Certainly it would be an easier way to show the information that people have put up here (if they agreed to it) ie. server, playtimes, etc.
But, secondly and more importantly I reached 80 tonight!!!!! Yeah!
And just to prove it here is the celebration photos Bri and I took to commemorate it.
I’ve had a great time getting to 80 over the past 5-6 weeks – it could have taken me another 5-6 weeks and I wouldn’t have minded at all. Right – time for some gear shopping
Starting 1st November they are going to once every 7 days.
And the population does change during off-peak hours – so it is possible to transfer to your friends server then (you may have to set your alarm clock…)
…but knowing Lexy or bri they’ve probably already done it.
Also to the current members love the really active chats with everyone and hope you keep it up!
It’s my priority when I get in from work.
Also loving chatting to everyone in game, it’s really nice when I’m in LA crafting or trading just to have people to chat with (other than bri )
Thanks Glitch for the free MK chest help last night – consider your karmic balance restored Was pleased to see that the MK dungeon works cross server – good for people to know if they are looking for parties you can ask your fellow guildies.
I’ve been playing about 5 weeks and my main is at level 78. I have in no way rushed through any of the game, just taken my time exploring, crafting, etc. I also have alts which range between level 5 – 30. My main is an ele if that helps you any.
I agree with Fay, the Carrion Verdant weapons do look great with sylvari toons – my Sylvari ele has the staff. The stats aren’t great for a level 70+ player but you could transmute.
Here’s a screenshot of the bow.
http://www.guildhead.com/item/35699/carrion-verdant-short-bow
And details on where to purchase them for Karma – so you could buy something with decent stats for gold as well
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Verdant_weapon
EDIT: Apologies, that’s a pic of the shortbow – can’t find a longbow one but you’ll be able to preview it from the vendor.

According to the wiki the clock tower doesn’t count towards it.
My understanding, which seems to be backed up by the wiki article on upgrade components, is that they stack. So if you had five on your armour it would give you the sum of those bonuses, not just the singular highest values.
Sorry that one’s no good. I haven’t checked these but I had them in my collection of GW2 related links. Maybe something here might help, sorry if they’re stil no use.

EDIT: Just having a look, if you’re interested in the affects of runes/sigils/jewels etc on your stats the last one might be the best.

Is this the sort of thing you’re looking for? It has tabs for you to enter armour/trinket stats, traits and skills/utilities.
Welcome to our latest member and welcome to the Gunnar’s Hold branch Zaerine I’m unfortunately not in game tonight so can’t send any outstanding invites – hopefully one of the other will do it but I’ll check tomorrow to make sure.
Looking forward to chatting to you all in game soon.
There’s two types I’ve come across. Some use the skill bar (1-3) to give commands to move from side to side for aiming and to fire. The second type have only a ‘fire’ command on the skill bar and aim wherever your cursor is positioned on the screen.
Took me a while to figure out the second type! Hope this helps.
If you don’t mind spoilers this is a good guide.

@Laszlo – You’ve probably already read it but I put some info up about our most represented EU servers in a post here this morning to Anomica. Hopefully this might help you out.
Bri and I can usually be found roaming around Tyria, clearing maps as we go and occasionally dipping in to our personal stories – apparently Bri killed a dragon last night (without me) Quite a few in the guild do dungeons regularly so between them they have quite a lot of expertise on specific ones. And, like you, many dabble in WvW and PvP when the mood take them.
@Laszlo – do you have a preference for an NA or EU server? Where are you based and what sort of days/times do you play? – this might help us suggest servers that would suit you. Also you and your remaining guild friends, are you PvPer’s, WvW, PvE dungeon or a bit of everything?
Is this a guild and if so can I join?
Hi Killmill – yes we are a quite informal, cross-server guild called The Legion of Honour One of us with will send you an invite the next time we’re in game.
See you in guild chat!
So the image I have from you guys is that you are a very casual, very relaxed community. Which fits pretty darn well because I like to play casual and relaxed with other players but have problems finding likeminded people. I like to socialize and love Gw2.
Bottomline: I would love to be part of your “OPERATION: UNION” and hope to hear from you guys!
Hi Laszlo – yes that is pretty much us – casual and relaxed. The other basic foundation on which we all got together was the idea of helping people in game. Answering questions, offering help, rezzing randoms that die as you run past nearby, etc – just basically like-minded people who don’t want to be jerks to other players. This has lead to some us of teaming up for PvE on a regular basis, introduced us to dungeon runs and gives us a group of people who we can call on for expertise. If you want to know anything about AC dungeon give Glitch a shout, he’s pratically set up home there!
If by the time I get home from work no-one else has sent you an invite I’ll sort it out. What server are you on, we can probably connect you to some ‘local’ players as well as our wider cross-server group?
@Anomica I’ve only ever played on Gunnar’s Hold which is a good predominantly english speaking EU server. There is a healthy population who do map chat both in LA and in regional maps and on the whole (there’s always a few exceptions) we are very helpful and friendly.
There are a few of us on Gunnar’s Hold (welcome Umbox!), myself bri and LokiShi. Bri and I tend to play evenings and weekends. LokiShi tends to portal in and out at will (sorry, bad Mesmer joke…)
The other EU server which has good Operation:Union representation is Aurora Glade where Glitch lives – but he’s said this is less of a casual server and players here are quite serious dungeon runners, Pvper’s, etc – not that this is a bad thing, it depends what you’re looking for.
Anyway, I’m sure some of the other EU players will chip in with their thoughts on their servers, hope you make a choice you’re happy with and feel free to get in touch with me in game anytime.
It’s not a dye guide, it’s a list of dyes. And because different kinds of armor dye differently it’s only an approximate color.
Actually, if you’d looked at the link more closely you’d see they offer pictures of the various dyes applied to clothing. Here is the actual link for the abyss on light female armour.
Welcome !
When you first get into the game you have five empty character slots ready and waiting to be filled. My advice is to play around a bit, create one of each race so that you can experience the opening story and areas for each. There are 8 classes so you can’t try one of each straight away (unless you buy additional character slots from the gem store) but you can pick the ones you think you like the sound of.
There have been several threads like yours asking for advice on starting your character, have a look through the first few pages of this section and see what you can find. It’s not that people won’t want to offer you advice but you’ll find that quite a lot already exists for you to start with.
Also, have a look at the GW2 Wiki, it has some good information on each race and class to give you some guidance.
Most of all, enjoy it.
Hi there, its not lame at all, alot of us have already made connections through this forum to meet up with people in game for PvE, Dungeons, etc.
Check out this thread and add your details in at the bottom. You can even join our (fairly informal) guild group so you can chat with us all on different servers (both NA and EU servers).
Edit: sorry this is the correct link!
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/players/OPERATION-UNION-Bringing-Players-Together/first
I’m based on Gunnar’s Hold server (EU) by the way, so if that is where you are feel free to add me and we can always chat and help each other out.
(edited by Lexy.3912)
I’m sure there will be and yes, definitely. I’m loving Halloween!
The way I understand it is that you first need to be in a party with the others you intend to dungeon with (even if you are all on different servers). Then you need to be near to the dungeon on your own server (not sure how near but I should imagine in the area just outside it would be best). Then whomever is going to initiate the dungeon run goes to enter and everyone else in the party should receive an instance request asking if they want to join. You accept and enter the dungeon and congregate inside.
If I am incorrect (having only discussed this with others, not having done it myself) please feel free to correct me.
Pick crafts that are relevant to your character. For example my main is an elementalist so the two crafts I focus on are tailoring (to make myself light armour) and artificing (to make myself weapons). If you wear medium class armour you could try leatherwork or for heavy armour, armour-smith. Talk to each crafter to find out what you can make with that craft before you decide.
(edited by Lexy.3912)
And as long as your character is a ranger.
You could also try learning one or two crafts – these will help you level too.
I think each one you get has a random level applied to it. So the first one you get could be the equilivalent of Iron, the next one might be as good as Darksteel, the next one could be back to Iron again or better or worse.
The advice I was given when dealing with any master tool is to try it out on one thing and if the result is a ‘ruined’ collection then unequip it and try it again in a lower area.
Gunnar’s Hold has an active forum. But, I don’t currently particpiate in WvW so I can’t really speak to leadership/organisation.

… I always want at least a unique skin as a “souvenir” that I can earn with or without spending real money(gems in this case). This skin should not be hard to get but at least require a descent amount of effort during the event unlike getting a legendary or something like that.
And with 3 Acts worth of unknown content still to come, how can you possibly know that you won’t get this?
And as commentors to the Reddit post point out – the scavenger hunt gives you a transmutable backpack skin.
As far as I know this is not possible at the moment. There is discussion on whether Anet might bring in character rename/cosmetic redesign for gems in the future.
You might want to try asking your question in the warrior section of the forum, they might be able to give you some more specific examples of things to spend your karma on.
