I’m pretty sure it adds, so you’d get +30% stun duration. This is a hot topic of 1H weapons versus 2H weapons and whether or not its balanced.

I’m pretty sure it doesn’t.

Sigils in the off-hand only affects attacks made by the off-hand.

That’s incorrect because a sigil of fire on an OH will proc with the MH auto-attack.

IIRC, having 2 of the sigils simply increases the chances you have of it proc’ing. However, if one proc’s, the other won’t until the internal cooldown works. (i.e. No matter which sigil proc’s the effect, both go into interna cooldown mode). It’s generally reccomended to use 2 different sigils.

Sigil of Paralyzing doesn’t have a cooldown.

imo:

final hit of #1 chain should apply vulnerability and be a blast finisher.

skill # 5 should KD for 3 seconds

Merciless Hammer = Increase the duration of all hammer control effects by 1 second and recharge all hammer skills when your target is below 25% health(60 second cooldown).

One of these buffs? sure
All of these buffs together? no

I play a hammer warrior frequently and adding 1 more second on each crowd control effect + the other buffs would be down right broken.

Imagine with Superior Sigil of Paralyzation
2 + 1 second stun burst
.5 + 1 second Hammer 4 stun
3 + 1 second Hammer 5 stun
Swap to off hand mace weapon.
2 second Mace 5 stun

Mind you that this lasts longer than some stability buff durations.

The main thing I think should be changed for the Hammer weapon and its related traits is removing or lowering the cast time on the Hammer Burst (if you didn’t know or use the hammer too often, there is a second where after you cast your Burst skill where you just stand still before leaping.

Hammer trait should be so that it does increased damage on those who are or have been affected by a stun in the last 2 seconds.

All these problems I am going to list have to addressed if Anet even wants to consider giving WvW a surviving a chance in a few months.

Anet needs to redo the rewarding system.
Too many people that contribute to the actually winning of the matches aren’t rewarded.

1. If you revive an ally that has been killed while a tower is under attack, it doesn’t count towards the defend event.
2. If you run supplies from a camp to a tower while it isn’t being attacked to repair, you aren’t rewarded.
3. f you are the trebuchet manner who’s been working to take down that fortified wall and not there for the actual attack, you are not rewarded.
4. If you are the scout keeper on Bay while Hill is being attacked to make sure that no surprise retaliation is imminent you get no reward while everyone else gets 1/5th of a level, 1.5k karma and 10 silver.

As I placed in the suggestion forum, tower and keep captures rewards should be map wide, and I’ve also listed some reasons why it wouldn’t be a broken mechanic.

1. You can be a spy with 12 gold and literally put a supply cap on any borderland. Yes it’s a hefty price but it is currently being abused in some of the matches,
2. People taking supplies from a tower or keep that is so desperately trying to inch into the last upgrade is never completed (mostly pugs do this) even when everyone is telling that person to stop, 1 person can really ruin it for everyone.
3. Downed State is a major problem in wvw, because securing kills is being harder and harder, just bringing someone to 0 hp doesn’t bring any sort of reward, this brings out the game of number vs number, being outmanned 2 to 3 is not 50% harder of a fight, but easily 3 or 4 times, it rises up exponentially.
4. Towers and Keeps are being upgraded less and less because people are less inclined to upgrade them cause they get no personal reward out of it, spend 5 gold upgrading smc, only to wake up to find it gone.
5. Bad tutorial system, the tutorial explains towers and keeps, but it doesn’t explain siege weapons, what they do, the function and importance of SUPPLIES (The kitten blood of wvw, 10 supply is worth a player in offensive and defensive values) if you are running without supplies you are really half the man power you can be.
6. The buying system is punishing to committed wvw players and commanders. You make the exotic equips only purchasable through badges which is fair, but the most effective way to gain badges is through jumping puzzles not actual WvW action. Buying siege weapons is only possible through gold which WvW is less than stellar to provide and badges, which forces a player to hold off on their exotics. It has been suggested numerous times to bring in a third currency system, through points from defending, capturing points or karma, but our voices are rarely heard.
7. Stealth is the worst mechanic that is in open WvW combat, if a thief wants to kill a dolyak, it is going down, unless you get about 5 people to escort dolyak that takes 5 minutes to walk from point A to point B. There is no system to counter it and the oppposing end is helpless to stop them from doing what the want even if they are freaken 2 feet away form the stealth user.
8. Guard upgrades sucks more donkey nuts than the kitten ground that it lays upon. They are absolute trash, two people will always be able to take out all the guards without much trouble. Lord’s room never gets more guards from the upgrade which is really a flawed designed in my opinion. The Lord never benefits from the guard upgrade as well.
9. What the hell is the point of the outfitter upgrade? no one uses it. Siegemaster makes a bit of sense I suppose, but something like a merchant that sells Ash Legion Spy Kits or Hero’s Elixir (4 second invulnerability) or Nourishment material would make far more sense and be an actual useful upgrade.
10. Glitching through door or wall exploits.

Should we actually change the magnitude of the reward per person? no
But we should be changing the reward system, but right now its terrible.
It only encourages non-commited wvw players to zerging an not defending or repairing.

Just look at the requirements for these things, you practically have to be a zombie that does nothing but that sole objective day in and day out for months on end.

Did Anet actually tested out if these titles were actually reasonable?
Heck you would have a easier time making a on hand and off land legendary that to get some of these titles.

What is the best weapon in Guild Wars 2?

There is no best weapon or armor
But rather a best class of weapon.
Ascended > Exotic > Rare > Masterwork > Fine > Normal.

As of current I haven’t heard of any ascended weapons so the best weapon is anything that is exotic class.

You may think Twilight is the best because it’s a legendary, but in reality its stats are just the same as a regular exotic greatsword (although i heard that they are going to change it later) and most of the price is from it’s cosmetic features.

I’m actually not a hardcore WvW player, and spend most of my time in the BL’s so I was not aware of this, but I’m thinking events that could be on the scale of Towers/Keeps levels would make things feel more alive. Particularly with the addendum of creating events to further temporarily fortify defenses, we could truly see some epic large scale clashes. ( Granted we still do in the current state, but I’m ever an optimist )

No, to be honest to have champions assault a tower alone would make defending nearly impossible. Look at the current break out, the champion alone can probably take on 20 people and worth a flame ram in damage to the gate. If every time you capture orge/hylek/dredge one of these guys pop up, then its more of a battle for the npc than the towers.

There would be a reconstruction of priories, since holding a tower is no longer as effective if waves of champions just come bashing at you. Npc > tower + camp mentallity would happen. That’s not how it should work.

Keep > Tower > Camp > Npc is always how it should work.

The "Rage Quit" penalty

The behavior is correct in that your character was killed while in combat but the team talked it over and we’re not happy with the golem going away as a result. We’ll get a change into an upcoming build so that if you’re in a golem when you DC the golem itself won’t be destroyed but will instead be left behind as though you had exited it.

WHILE YOU’RE AT IT ADD A FLIPPING WARNING SYSTEM THAT ISN"T 10 SECONDS!!!!

Apologies for being rude but holy crap, but does Anet have any idea how annoying it is to just suddenly get kicked off from the game cause of a “new build” and lose all your siege in each borderland, fail a long and tedious executed attack just because there was no prior warning?

instant build oil or make 3 ballistas and lay waste to those golems.

But yea, golem rushes are pretty much unrivaled considering how fast a mesmer + golem combo an take down a reinforced gate even superior flame rams pale in comparison.

The reward for capturing towers and keeps should be map wide, everyone in the map except for those at the spawn should get a reward.
Why because people who run between supply camps and towers to repair the wall even when there is no attackers are the silent hero’s that get almost nothing in return. The reward from capturing a keep is only given to those who are within the circle, those who spent 1-2 hours trebucheting the kittenhing get nothing, how is this fair?

The reward for capturing in WvW is honestly pathetic considering how much money and effort is actually put into taking the kitten objective.
A tower rewards 4 silver for capture, a keep rewards 8 silver.
doggy crap, I mean does anyone in Anet actually play WvW as a commander? the money that you get back for actually placing siege, running back and forth between supply camps only to get that much money is a slap to the face. 2 golems spent on capturing a keep alone probably results in a net even gain, you need 25 people to break out 2 gold back and 2 golems isn’t enough to capture a defended keep btw. The reason why I mention this is related to the next part.

WvW currently gives very little incentive for people to run between camps and towers to repair because it usually nets very little self reward, in lower tier servers you rarely even see gates or walls being repaired because its just a huge chore and you don’t get any reward for “preparing” for the next attack. Give people a reason to repair broken walls, even when the structure isn’t attacked, global capturing reward for towers and keeps can solve this. The amount of money given to individuals is small, but over 125 people per borderland (that’s assuming there is a queue which is quite rare to be honest) it would mean a net total of 5 gold for taking a tower and 10 gold for taking a keep.

THIS ISN"T AS BAD AS YOU THINK!!!! Lets compare this to a dungeon, a 5 man crew doing a AC exp run nets at least 5 ( .26g + 3 bag of coins) = 1.3g + 15 bag of coins, that’s about 1.8 gold in pure raw money per dungeon run that is performed. Now remember this is only a dungeon with a success rate that is near 100% most of the time when it comes to experienced players. In WvW it truly is anyone’s game, most attacks have failed than can possibly be counted, each time there is a huge net loss in money through siege, repairs and effort. In the end the result isn’t as bad as the numbers might look.

Now for defending, the mechanics for defending is iffy to be honest, you have to kill someone to get a reward, you can drop a crap ton of aoe, but if you don’t net a death you get no reward, those who use a focus (4) on a ele to block treb shots get nothing out of the process, throwing rocks at a gate to push off attackers doesn’t give you anything unless you kill someone by pure chance, defending reward should be based on how long you spent time inside the defensive position. The reward itself isn’t that bad to honest considering how its a continuous 3 minute loop, but the mechanics determining how you are rewarded really isn’t bad.

You are answering the calls of not just me, but the entire WvW community and those who might fine joy in it as well if you just give the push that would give people the incentive to participate. And what more is that you can CONTROL THIS. You can control the flow of how many people can enter wvw, thus also controlling the amount of money that comes and from the WvW environment. Don’t disappoint us, we know you can do the right thing.

TLDR; WvW has a cruel system that only rewards those who are actively attacking and defending while leaving those who work behind the scene in the dust, whom are just as maybe even more important. Map wide reward should be implemented for capturing towers and keeps, (trebbers don’t get rewarded, those who keep the siege safe are unrewarded). WvW isn’t a end game gold sink, its a system that is choking it self to death with bad rewards for amount of effort used.

I use a hammer most the time since I’m a support build, but it really is kind of pointless against bosses. Going to be frustrating when I get juggernaut finished to have to swap it out for a great sword on a lot of encounters.

great in wvw though.

as far as damage goes, my biggest crit was 4900k with earth shaker on hammer (which im specced for) and up to 14k on hundred blades over and over.

hammer could use more buffs imo

The question then becomes: Are you using 25 arrow carts/flame rams in 40 minutes of WvW? Are you even using the 12 carts/rams per 40 minutes you claim you can buy via WvW?

So the real complaint isn’t so much “I can’t make enough money to support WvW via WvW”, but really “I can make more money doing other things, and I like money”.

You’re right, it really is a question of why bother wvw when I can make more elsewhere. But the case still stands, The current WvW is terrible in making money, even if you don’t use siege.
Siege weapons is the blood and life of WvW, you need to buy them, its a stupidly high input system with a low output when compared to practically everything else in the game. And for the using of the siege, yes, I use it, defending camps, towers and keeps require a crap ton of siege, I may not use all of it, but I use most of it.

Why is it that its so much more efficient to farm in PvE then go to WvW and buy siege than it is to stay in WvW and buy siege with badges and rewards?

I can buy 25 arrow carts/flame rams with money from just 40 minutes of dungeon running.

But in WvW on a good day in that time I’ll have accumulated about 70-80ish silver and about maybe 10ish badges. Barely enough to even buy half of what I would’ve gotten if I did dungeon runs instead.

I love WvW and its the only exciting thing in the game in my opinion since everything else is always rinse and repeat. But it is so bad when it comes to making it worth while.

Get a zerg for 24
make 6 rams (mainly the outer doors of lowlands in EB)
Make them all at the same time, even reinforced doors will drop to 6 rams ridiculously fast. and just plow through the two doors that are practically next to each other

Just a question
If you were to have a major rune and a superior rune of bloodlust, corruption or luck etc.
Something that increases in effect as you get more kills. If you were to apply each one to a different hand weapon would you get two different boons that go up?

For example after 25 kills your main and and off hand power sigils will have a 175 + 250 power effect.

Or does the system only take in the greater one?

In my opinion its only good for extracting expensive sigils.
I would never ever use a mystic salvage kit to extract a superior rune of divinity for example. 80% chance when it comes to managing that amount of money is too risky for me.

As for ecto making, its defiantly a lot better than the other competitors but as of right now if you don’t get it for free from a chest then its not worth it.

you can probably get 10% duration from accessories and 5% from armor base
40% from runes
30% from traits
10% from warrior banner of tactics (leaving this one out though).

for a total of +85% boon duration of the orginal buff as to the normal 70%
the 3rd stat really isn’t much but its probably to put a cap on the potential. After a certain point you would be able to keep the boons up permanently without even using your utility skills.

I’ve never used food before but you can probably go over +100% boon duration

Why can’t we buy the insigina for the accessory, I’ve been hunting the giant winters days box for several hours and opened at least 50 boxes, when I gave up I found out that you can’t buy any from the merchants.

Humming sound

the humming is a soft crash, one that you can get out of by holding ctrl+alt+del and launching task manager from the manager.

ahhh thank you, i will try that next time.
Just curious do you know this out of personal experience?
or is there a website where you found the Q/A to these issues?

Humming sound

Is anyone else getting this humming sound that just starts out of nowhere in gw2?
I could be running around in wvw then all of the sudden all the sound that’s going on shuts off and only a oscillating sound is left from high volume to low volume.

Strange thing is that the sound doesn’t go away even when I close gw2.
Yet the sound also only starts when I play the game.

I have to restart my laptop whenever this sound starts.

its only a flipping 2 silver repair ._.
unless you literally dc several dozen times the cost is insignificant.

Moral of the story
don’t play if you are disconnecting every 5 minutes or alt-f4 every time you are about ot die.

Good lord I’ve never felt so weak even with glass cannon equips ._.
Lighting Arc did flipping 2.2k damage in total over the entire duration
The auto attacks on the others weren’t that bad too be honest, but landing some skills were impossible like dragons tooth and shatterstone

Go Hammer warrior with 30 points into defense
10 – any thing
20 – Hammer reduction
30 – endure pain

Skills (condition removing heal) (adrendaline heal works as well but its a bit risky)
Precision Signet and Bull rush, rest is optional

Proceed to CC everything you see.

If your CoF (2) run completion was within a hour of another CoF(2) run then you get half the tokens, even if the daily reset is in between.
