Yea, was pretty interesting happened there XD there was about 5+ of you guys i think standing there above the Dawn’s tower wall, with only some of you shooting down, or even go down to smash up which you could have over thrown us when we were only a few there catapulting the wall XD

Yea, I couldn’t even play WvW anymore after I arrived at the tower after taking a camp only to find 5 people running up the ramp as the wall was about to collapse, to see a catapult was still 100% ._.
And the catapult being literally 3 feet away from the cliff >,<
1 fear bomb would’ve pushed you guys off too (maybe be overestimating the fear shout).

I know at this point I’m whining but I was seriously ticked off that we lost something that was so easily avoidable :x

it could defiantly work, but you’ll need several camps, at least a dozen people to follow and a dozen more to maintain the sieging and a unholy amount of gold that is being willed to throw away since siege does eventually expire.

Problem is that this tactic won’t work too well against keeps with trebuchets or mortars in them.

I swear the intellegence of most of FA is going down right now.
I see people running around like headless chickens when defending towers when there is a cannon right them that isn’t being attacked.

Right now we lost dawn’s eye wall to a superior catapult because the people defending it where too scared to aoe the catapult.
Aiming ballista’s at single targets when they can pierce 5+ enemies, using aoe’s at gates, rather than walls with enemies on them and etc, this is hardly the same FA from several weeks ago >.>

I don’t like the change at all. It became my favorite heal after I dropped Healing Signet, but with this change I can use the adrenaline gain before the heal to my advantage because it’s not there anymore.

Being a Tank with a Hammer and Mace/Shield I never have full adrenaline long so I can use my Adrenaline Skill stuns. Now I might as well just use mending

Make it so that their raised levels are 83 or even 84, as of right now the upgrade is to be honest kinda blehh, the tiny bit of survival of lv82 gives is nothing but a joke from both the attacking and defending side.
Boiling oil is probably even better than the guard level up in the sense that it can buy a minute or so for your gate.

Either that or make it so that Tamed Vertan Karkas are added as guards, hehehehehehe

Well most of Yaks and TA’s borderlands are completely locked down you can’t really push out further than the first tower and maybe a few camps.

FA was in a similar situation but once they got a footing the entire borderland became unstable now its a free for all essentially.

So FA bl and EB are the really only effective way to gain points as of right now for all 3 sides.

Why is Yaks focusing on our borderlands rather than EB? who knows maybe its because at this point playing in EB is just exhausting.

You can actually just settle for the rare ones, their only a bit weaker but quite literally several times easier to acquire.

Third stat: Condition or Critdamage?

condition warrior is kinda bad, I’ve been trying it out for a month now and I have to say that you have far better options.

I usually don’t approve of glass cannon builds especially for warriors unless you are sticking with range weapons only. But if you were to go pure offense go Power, precision, crit damage.

Currently have full Power/Vit/Condition armor with 2 power/precision/condition accessories and similar backpack and my ticks are around 80ish damage, 87 with my condition damage rifle. (No condition damage trait) although I did try 25 points in the condition damage trait once and the ticks were around 94 damage reaching slightly over 100 with the might signet active.

An being condition based also limits your weapon options to always having a sword in one of your hands which to be honest gets boring after a while even if you are hopping everywhere.

i think we should need the downed and defeated states but remove the ability to act when you are downed.

Except they should remove all the abilities from the downed state except for bandage.
Being downed shouldn’t mean you just warp away to safety for 3 seconds then come back in full force.
You should be in actual danger and not just a click away from moving 30 feet into your back line.

after playing as a condition warrior in WvW for a bit, I have to say either just go for straight condition damage increase or regular burst damage.

Condition duration is mehhhh at best because almost everyone can cleanse out your stacks before they take decent effect.

I know the sight of seeing getting 20+ stacks of bleed by yourself looks amazing as the enemy is just a fountain of 100s pouring out, but its still only about 2000 damage per second, fantastic against PVE mobs but against players you are far far better off for trying to squeeze in the more damage per second, even at the cost of duration.

I whole heartily agree, as of right now 1 catapult behind a gate works magnitudes better than a burning oil pot. I think burning oil rigs should have a kittenpit where the user can fall into, away from damage while still being able to use the oil.

Either that or make it so the oil rig itself covers a larger area perpendicular to gate, so that the oil rig users aren’t in range of EVERY SINGLE AOE in the game, its quite near impossible to use the rigs if there’s even a small amount of focus on them right now.

I don’t know about you but I never lost a tower or higher to a zerg that had no siege weapons o_O unless
1. the tower was being trebbed into pebbles
or
2. the door was already at 25% or lower.

by god to 100% – 0% a gate with no siege? you’ll need like 50 people to do that if you want to finish under 5 minutes o_o, imagine if it was reinforce.

and make it so that capturing or defending objectives rewards badges.
As of right now I think it’s safe to say that at least half of all the badge of honors in the game comes from jumping puzzles, killing players is simply unreliable and which it should be to be honest, but it gives a laughably small amount of badges.

Jumping puzzles removes man power from the actually WvW activity.
The mechanics in WvW should promote, trying to capture objectives and defend towers, but as of current jumping puzzles have arguably the most time to reward mechanics in the game, meaning that there are probably some people that just go to WvW do all the jumping puzzles then leave. This should not be how it works.

As for the missing blueprints that comes from the JP I say that karma should be an available currency for buying them. 500 karma = 1 silver ratio, or something around that

Yes you do want precision if you intend to use a GS— Primarily because of traits that grant might / apply bleed & vulnerability on crit

currently I am a power + condition warrior and decided to swing around with a GS for a couple of minutes (normally sword + axe or sword + sword) for kicks and laughs but found that my damage with HB was actually pretty bad, i wasn’t hitting more than 7k on my HB while I saw videos of 12k and higher damage.

Staff Elementist are just amazing when it comes to taking down that pesky arrow cart and ranger on the roof, but when it comes to overall effectiveness the Mesmer is unmatched to be honest, no competition.
Mesmers can save your server allies a hour on the Eternal JP, portal bomb, yank people off of roofs, improve golem movement, make golems attack faster and kite for days if you want to.

Is 378 the max amount of karma you can get form an event? I’ve had karma buffs on and haven’t seen it go higher then 378 in the event reward pop up. Can you get more then that and the event reward just doesn’t tell you?

WvW capturing towers and keeps gives x2 and x4 more karma respectively
although obviously the reliability of getting this steadily is wonky.

Siege Weapon Idea - Barricade

I think the idea of siege weapon: Barbed wire might work better actually.
Barricades sounds great if you are from the defensive side but if you were to use it offensively such as putting 20 of them at a gate portal to lock out reinforcement it might be a problem.

You can spec for a trait that gives you more speed when wielding a melee weapon.
You can also access permanent +33% swiftness with a warhorn + signet of fury, traiting for at least one of the two item.

I think crafting is worth the effort you put into it, as long as you reach 400 though.

The ability to create an exotic of your desired stat match up is great even if the ecto an orichulcum is a bit expensive. But say that economically only the weapon making, artifact, hunter and chef are up to par. They don’t need too much mats to complete their category. But armor making whooooo kittenhere is A LOT to cover, 6 pieces of exotic equips is worth a hell lot in materials, honestly probably better to get the dungeon ones for those.

I disagree if any siege weapon is way over the top I would have to say it would be the treb, placed in the right spots 2 can take down entire towers without having to spend too much man power in a hour. Also they can be placed in unreachable places which means you have to take down the fully upgraded keep or you’ll forever be trebbed.

Arrow carts are usually AoE-able due to their field of vision requirement to fire.

I can’t hit jack squat when attacking an enemy on the ledge of a wall or when in the reverse position “Obstructed”,“Obstructed”,“Obstructed”,“Obstructed”,“Obstructed”. ARGHHHHHH unless I climb on top of the ledge I can’t hit anything. I can’t even hit the oil rig when I’m right in front of it.
It’s not that I hate using bows but rifles feel so useless when trying to take down enemies on walls.

I know, that mesmer portal thing is kitten annoying and it is almost impossible to break without using siege weapons, I know that the response of using siege weapon is valid but there should be more punishment for so many people stacking up into 1 exact spot.

I say mesmer portals being only able to teleport 5 people, the user and 4 others.

I say at LEAST 2 week cooldown period.
1 week is still enough to take advantage of the WvW system since most matches are decided by wednesday you can still reap several days of benefit by just transfering on Tuesdays or Wednesdays. 1 week is not enough, bandwagoning is an issue and needs to be solved.

My concern would be that anyone who spies gets an advanced plan of what they are going up against, that then gives them more options to spread out.

You are giving someone that is willing to run two clients a way to have knowledge that they shouldn’t without seeing it themselves either by taking a death and spying on the ground or physically coming closer. It’s rare to call out how many are defending, attacking is another thing, if you represent attackers instead, that would keep the spying out somewhat. Even still with that someone could spy on what the other side is doing and know where to double team on the more competitive matches.

Hmmm I didn’t think of that.
Well I suppose one way to face against that problem would be to make a currency system for it, you only get a instant reading with a new item “badge of sight”? Something that can only be obtained from killing enemies, fairly rare but only serving that one purpose. They expire at the end of the WvW matchup (maybe even daily) meaning they can’t carry over and you have to actively go against your own side if you want to get a reading.

Another option I guess is to make it so that only commanders can see the numbers, 100g is a huge leap for a non main account and I don’t think spy accounts would ever have enough for that. With the addition of paying extra over time for having the benefit of reading.

This is fairly simple you just have a small number appear next to the Icon of the camp,tower,keep that represents the number of allies present in the designated area.
For example if 20 allies are in Stonemist then a 20 would appear next to the corresponding icon. I do feel it should stretch about maybe 4000 range outside of the walls due to siege range but the range amount is really up for grabs since I have no clue what it should be.

Of course this number only represents allies in the area.

The personal story is terrible in this game.

I’m not some professional critic or something but holy crap after playing through the personal story I have to say that the overall plot is bad. I’ll list a few reasons why

1. Disposable characters – This is the biggest one. I swear all the characters in the personal storyline are either just thrown at you and told that they are “sooooooo amazing” and expect the player to stand at awe or something only to play barely any role. You see characters get shuffled around like their a cards being dealt in poker. For example, your ally that you start out with in the Charr storyline is suddenly never seen again after you join your order, gone and washed away like he never happened.
Constantly shuffling around characters doesn’t make the story feel more vast but only ends up weakening it because no one sticks around long enough to feel important.

2. Bad character development – Either characters never change or they become a completely new person in a split second. This is most likely because of how characters are just thrown in and leave as fast as they arrive.

3. Big gapping holes in the story – I am really not joking when it comes to this. There are so much missing details in the story sometime that I wonder if my quest line glitched an I missed something. For example In the human storyline when you talk to the female bandit about the queens authority and then leave without showing your identity, she shows up at the bar suddenly knowing that you were the one she was talking too.. The introduction to dragons was just thrown at you after you finish your race story. I barely remember but I think it was something along the line of saying how the dragons were a huge gigantic problem when you have seen absolutely nothing related to them before hand. Things like this are innumerable in the story and I feel should be fixed.

4. Glitches – Self explanatory. Happens every now and then, mobs don’t spawn, certain monsters become “invulnerable” for no apparent reason and etc.

5. Rewards – More than half of the rewards are terrible “fine” equips for the amount of work done in some of the quests is just a taunt with a slap to the face to your efforts.

6. Branching story line – Haha, I’m sorry but when I first saw this I was excited and was ready to indulge into my personal story line, boy was I disappointed at the end. What you haven’t branching story lines, what you have is a small detour option, everything leads up to the same point multiple times, whats the point of options in a story line if it all ends up the same? In the end of the story you are nothing more than a pawn that followed the orders of your superior, you don’t have any personal choice. The story probably would’ve been stronger if it was a linear no option story to be honest.

That’s all I have to say about the personal story, I love the game but the story is less than satisfying.

I think the analogy is better served by saying you’re always going to other people’s parties and never throwing your own.

to be fair you won’t find as many groups that would just follow you around as much as a commander would by just strolling by with a army of supply ready allies.

QQ some more. all your post comes down to is you saying, “I WANT TO KEEP MY GOLD!” Instead of realizing that WvW is meant to be an endgame gold sink(hence gold costs for siege + upgrades). Also, your stating that your not a team player, because you would rather keep your precious gold than help out your team. way to be a team player.

So conserving a personal reserve is suddenly a crime now? Also saying that I’m not a team player because I don’t feel like paying coins for attacks is like saying the people who helped organize and decorate a party before hand aren’t a team player because they didn’t pay for the food. I participate in attacks and defend what I can.

It’s not charity if you can share the cost over a series of objectives, it’s cooperation. I realize this isn’t always possible but I think it works out more often than you might expect.

Besides which it makes you the benefactor of charity (ie freeloader) if you don’t buy siege

That’s exactly why I suggest a karma form of buying blueprints, I would be more than happy to spend my karma if it were to help out my server in WvW, but as of right now there is no way of doing so except maybe in the extended sense of getting better gear so I can survive more or do more damage, but that would barely do anything.
