Only problem I’m seeing is people glitching the AI system.
For example a Mesmer pulling a trebuchet npc a certain way resulting in the npc not being able to walk back, negating the system.
Other than thing I think its fine, as lnng as regular siege doesn’t get this feature.

The necessity to go 30 in Arcane is a mith really, you can do well even with 10 only ..or even zero eventually, the problem is if you don’t want to go the crit chance way the fire traits are pretty awful as they force you to stay in fire to do anything
o.O the cooldown reduction is quite important for keeping your boons up.
Attuning to water and catnips are your only means of regeneration buff and the same with earth to protection to armor of earth.
Honestly out can make do with 10 arcane but you are removing a lot of tankiness from the build o.O

Hello, I’ve been using the flamethrower in WvW and I’ve been coming to this issue of retaliation. I sometimes end up hurting myself more than I am hurting the enemy, is there any way around this? besides not using the flamethrower.

Please stop this.
You should be promoting open world participation with things like the former 100 event per month. This fractal achievement is just silly and draining people into 1 dungeon. Yes it’s your best dungeon, but its not your only one.
List of achievements that I think would be better suited for monthly.
1. 100 events
2. Hunt down 50 monster types.
3. Transfer (Buying and Selling) 20 gold through the trading post.
4. Create a new character to level 60.
5. Craft X amount of something lv400
6. Participate in 4 different story dungeons.
7. Participate in 10 different explorable dungeon modes.
8. Place 30 siege blueprints down.
9. Salvage 500 items
10. Something to do with monthly event.

Doubt it, monthly patches is sort of their thing.
But at the first week? not really
However, that doesn’t mean it won’t happen.
I just think that their bigger patches are in the middle of the month.

So why is Mace Offhand superior to others? Just because of the 4 Vulv on mace4? or are there any other factors I am too blind to see?
It would be nice if someone could enlighten me.The 5 ability on Mace is just the bee’s knees. It is an AoE knockdown with a long range which has shorter cooldown than the Hammer’s 5 which is only single target and short range.
This an obvious and huge advantage over the Hammer’s 5 Knockdown. So if Knockdown is your thing, Mace is where it’s at.
In PvE maybe, but in PvP the hammer or off hand shield is far better for CC locking, the burst skill is a lot harder to react to.
Mace 5 is rather slow and rarely actually affects anyone unless they are in point blank range. But this case is really only for AoE CC
If you are looking for flat aoe damage then axe/axe is what you are looking for.

I noticed that when you equip a kit, flamethrower, bomb kit, grenades etc.
Your original weapons bonus stats get wiped off.
100 power
70 precision
70 condition damage
bonus on the weapon would suddenly get removed.
Although I actually don’t mind if the utility equip and main equip stats are different, shouldn’t the equipment skills for engineers receive the same treatment as the elementalist weapon skill weapons?

Completed 100% with just killing mobs in a couple of parties before (all of them were pugs groups), you need someone with CC lock though like a hammer specced warrior to stop the smokelords and hell storms from CCing to much.
And if the players can’t dodge the smokelord eruption or dark field then they are just bad, no excuse for that.
Also one of the big mistakes I’m seeing people make is that they are reviving people. Reviving people in that part is stupid and only gets you and the downed person killed, you revive people by rallying them through kills, never with the F button (unless you have a warbanner).

lv80 Necromancer, all professional skills unlocked, working on the final norn elite skills.
So, I am new and currently (impatiently) patching the game, and I’m feeling a little overwhelmed by all the class options. I am sure I am not alone in coming into this as a WoW veteran, and while I am excited about the unique twists on class design, I really don’t know what to expect.
I do prefer ranged/casting classes (or at least I did in WoW – that might be different here!) but the quick profession descriptions on the website likely do not paint a full picture of what each profession is really like.
So what are your favourites, which do you hate – and why?
I play warrior and mes in pvp, with a lvl 43 ele, 21 ranger for fun/wvw
I however have 1 of each class so i do play all classes in pvp (@ rank 21 some 500-ish matches and a ‘few’ tournaments)dungeon ranks:
1. Guardian, after talking to guardians and watching them in action and so on they are very clearly at the time without question.
2. Mesmers, the utility, and distractions via clones make them very hard to beat <my personal favorite by far
3. Warrior, damage… (can be moved up to #1-2 for certain dungeons, Eg. AC)
4. Theif, party support/stealth combined with damage is extremely good
5. Necro, aoe, minions, conditions (which benefits other classes that sort of have some conditions, but ignore them in favor of another stat) and survivability
6,7,8. engi/ele/ranger just don’t notice much effect from themGeneral pve:
1. warrior everything basically gets 1 shotted
2. theif, less survivability, more damage than guardian
3. necro, good survivability lacks damage of theif
4. guardian op as kitten, but doesn’t kill as fast as others
5. ele, great potential damage, often wasted though
6. ranger all rounder pet makes it nice, not as much kill tagging capability as ele
7. engi, actually tied with range due to aoe , i’ve not much experience with them..
8. mes. low damage, next to zero kill taggingpvp.
1. Mes, only by a narrow margin.
2. Necro, can often kill mesmers, MM’s are scary, wells are deadly as hell when used in the right hands
3. Theif, VERY VERY close second/third great utility and party-support, stealth makes them hard to kill, they can apply pressure and often assassinate key targets with relative ease
4. Eles, they make great bunkers and great roamers lots of damage, lots of survivability, and utility to spare, easy to target however, unlike theives (due to stealth), mesmers (due to clones) and necro’s (due to minions or their natural positioning within groups)
5. guardian, meditation is the only way to go from my perspective, those who try for bunkers tend to be absolutely terrible at everything and fail hard, meditation provides great mobility and just keeps you in ur opponents face all of the time
6. Warrior, excellent burst damage, if you can catch someone, they will die.. keyword being… if
7. Rangers, recently with alot of sword-based builds they’ve started to show up in tournaments and play excellently, i was tempted to say 8
8. engi’s generally unwieldy, they’re not discounted they’ll still destroy alot of the other classes in several area’s, they’re just seemingly weaker than one would expectwvw:
1. ele dat aoe finally gets used to it’s fullest potential
2-3-4. theif/necro/ranger all have great range and aoe, theif you will almost always see near your spawn point where they will be picking off lone players, necro’s and rangers just finally get to use their range/survivability and aoe to their fullest potential
5-6-7-8 engi/mes/war/guardian, guardian’s i’ve heard are amazing, but i just don’t see it, warriors have excellent single target damage i myself frequently pick off lone players with the rifle (12k+ kill shots anyone?), engi’s similar to guardians, heard they’re good, i’ve not witnessed it, mes’s were absolutely amazing until the phantasm line of sight nerf… they suddenly became next to useless in my opinion, i’ve heard they’re still amazing particularly reflection-based, but again.. not witnessed.personal favorite class: mesmer, they’re absolutely baller
least favorite class: engi, i’m apparently very very good at it, but they’re horridly uncomfortable, and seem to just stand out as a “wtf are these doing in this genre”
……. did….. did you just put mesmers in the bottom tier in WvW?
lv80 Necromancer, all professional skills unlocked, working on the final norn elite skills.
8000!?!?!
kitten I think i’ve only total up around 1k badges
lv80 Necromancer, all professional skills unlocked, working on the final norn elite skills.
i think its around 150 per map so about 600 in total for 1 server.
It’s not over 250 per though, based on my experience.
A zerg of 60 is considered a Olympian size group and you’ll rarely see people defending if you have that many running around
lv80 Necromancer, all professional skills unlocked, working on the final norn elite skills.
In what play style do you mean? Spvp, yes mesmers are better. WvW, hard to tell since both have strengths and weaknesses (talking damage, not taking portal into consideration). PvE warriors perform better.
And I’m pretty certain an iZerker can be killed during their attack, at least they can be killed between them being summoned and starting their whirl.
Mesmer will always be better than warriors in WvW
Time warp golems, infinite vertical range pull and portals alone put them on the god status.
The only thing a warrior could bring that another class can’t is a 3 second range kill with a glass cannon rifle build that really only works against other glass cannons or pre-80s. We have a huge variety in how we can play in WvW but nothing that stands above all the others.

If you are looking for a tank class, warrior might not be for you o.O
(0/10/0/30/30) D/D ele (yes a elementalist) is better at tanking than full defensive spec warrior.
I kitten you not on this matter.

You realize that the damage of Whirlwind is only one part of it; the mobility and total invulnerability during the spin is what makes it great?
Besides, when did you test Whirlwind lately? The latest patch buffed the damage (you’ll do damage faster, so even if you grazing past an enemy you do higher % of the total damage).
Whirlwind doesn’t make you invulnerable o.O

lv80 Necromancer, all professional skills unlocked, working on the final norn elite skills.
I think it’s about the fact that it’s so kitten hard to finish off a thief. Other classes, if you are defeated, you die. With the thief it’s, if you are defeated, you just retreat, heal up, and come back and try to snipe that person again. It’s a class where you can be beaten over and over and over again, and never die. You just get to retry the fight over and over until you win. At least in WvW.
The culling bug (late rendering after they should appear after attacking) is certainly helping the class as well.
It’s really annoying to other classes. If they charge into a pair of guys, they better win, or they will die. Having this super mobile class that can not be caught, and can run down any other class just ruins the open world pvp for me.
I have a pistol/dagger thief based around mobility/escapism. I rarely die. I’m bored of that class and playing a few others now, and oh my gosh am I realizing how OP the thief is now. The class is hurting the enjoyment of many people for WvW. No joke.
With my other classes I’m playing I’m learning how to fight different classes, and making use of all my powers. With my thief all I used is regular 1 attack, and Cloak and Dagger, number 5 with my P/D spec. I use that in every fight, vs every class, 1v1, or 1v10. It’s a god kitten joke.
Yet the Ele D/D does the same thing you describe —-> They bail out and come right back with full health and you fail to mention them once, why not? Is it only the stealth?
A d/d ele is easy to stop from running away. They are also easy to avoid in regards to damage spikes. Not only that, the ones that are hard to kill do garbage damage. They are way more versatile than thieves though overall. That is the difference
At least you can see what the hell a D/D ele is doing.
Also they are usually the type that stare you to death after 3 minutes of pummeling.

I don’t think AoE should remove stealth.
I hate thieves as well, but that is just pushing the margin.
I do think that there should be a 5 second reveal debuff after a theif comes out of or uses a stealth.

This is just a rant, I know that there are many of you who love FotM out there as well.
1. It sucks the life out of other dungeons.
2. It is kitten boring.
3. It caters to more hard core players as to casual players.
4, It is the ONLY means to get ascended gear
5. It has hurt WvWvW in an indirect way by taking out former participates who decided to get ascended gear.
6. A lot of people seem to refuse to do a run that is lower than their maximum level unless its a daily.

and please please please make it into Karma bought upgrade.
Less and less people are willing to buy the upgrades anymore because they are so dam expensive.
Don’t make WvW players use the thing that they get the least of but rather the thing that WvW excels at in providing. Karma.
It’s a terrible system where upgrading a defensive point hurts the buyer more than it helps. It would be the same case with Karma but at least people won’t feel like they are weakening themselves by buying through that function.

Yeah, it’s really annoying trying to fight the invisible man/woman… wish they could fix the issue already – it should be priority number 1.
If they cannot fix it, then they need to quickly increase stealth cooldowns significantly. I know several people leaving the game because of thieves effectively getting perma stealth iin wvwvw,
Lol come on its not that bad. I know no one leaving because of it. Lol
Then i doubt you are in a guild that actively does wvw daily o.O
Perma-stealthing is really happening in wvw and it really does suck out all of the fun in the game when you are on the reciveinng end.
You won’t be able to kill competent thieves who are actively abusing the culling system unless you have 4+ people running around spamming auto attacks.
People don’t’ even bother escorting yaks anymore because there is no point to do it unless you have a party with you to stop one person.
