Summon a spectral axe and hurl it at your foe, leashing them. activate skill again to explode the axe.
Or make it perform similar to ranger’s axe#1, but obviously doing more damage.
i believe both of these skills should be at 600 range maximum. my reasoning is that it would synergize(spelling?) perfectly with main hand axe.
any other ideas? i think it would be awesome to dual wield axes, especially when i’m done with frostfang.
sort of like how greater marks is on a separate major trait.
i find most of the complaints about necromancers come from players who don’t use condi cleanses, or have enough toughness to take a single dagger chain.
however, i will not say there are no broken or OP classes. some classes have way too much access to mobility, while others have tons of mobility and as well as huge amounts of soft escapes(leaps etc) and it’s hard maining a class that has none of any of the above listed to not be outplayed by some of these classes sometimes, whether they’re better than me or not.

I was actually having a reasonably good time doing the crown pavilion even with the crappy loot. It’s nice they listened and buffed them!

It was. Are you referring to the anti-zerg? It’s been getting more and more coordinated and it’s actually very refreshing to do small group coordinated assaults. People were hating on it at first because it took forever and gave garbage loot, but that’s less the case now.
coordinated open world is the worst thing Anet tried, it doesn’t work. People don’t listen, guild have to create overflow because they don’t want to deal with random people. 6 champions bag for 10-30 minutes? which will most likely be greens and blues.
Last year pavilion was much better, I remember farming destroyer and bandit and actually getting something decent and having more fun than those annoying bosses ( when people killed 5 bosses and are all scaling the last one with all the buffs.
Looks like the only decent way to make gold is still dungeons and selling arah.

No, several professions can make a bunker won’t die to TWO people for a very long time (minutes).
Bunkers are OP in PvP and need to be removed. They serve no purpose except to make complete imbalance and require NO skill whatsoever to autowin. If I were to use a bunk engineer and squat on a single point, I would win at least 7 out of every 10 games without doing ANYTHING else.

season 2 has taught me that if you don’t have the coverage, you don’t have the matchup. it’s a little embarrassing when your server can’t push out 10 people because you have 4 in the whole map :/

I am P/P with Grenades/Tool Kit/Elixir S. I run mostly Rabid with some Dire.
I probably could have done better at avoiding his CnD attempts, but I was so worried about long row of conditions on me. I felt like a Necro had just used their Signet of Spite on me and then some.
there’s your problem. you have no cleanses. i personally look for engies like that, no offense. because i as a necro main(main’d engineer first) know i can send back 12+ stacks of confusion and since the target doesn’t carry cleanses there’s nothing they can do(if they notice it, more often than not they press 1 too much and fall over)

well it doesn’t help that the bosses scale up when there are a ton of players around them. i’ve gone through about 10 overflows trying to find people who will run it effectively. all ten have been failures. i’ve gotten used to the idea that there are better ways to farm the loot i need.

Mindlessly following the blue tag while doing something else is not what I want from this game. The game needs to be challenging enough to require people to start paying attention, communicating, getting organized, and playing beyond just spamming 1. That’s a terrible culture to develop in a game, and I’d like to see it do a 180 from that.
to be honest, that’s what i want. but unless that’s in the game from the beginning, there’s not much practicality.
The new Crown Pavillion is working exactly as it’s supposed to. Those who’re willing to put in the extra effort to coordinate with their guild, server community, or game community at large can set up a farm for themselves where they can reap 8 champ bags and 50 festival tokens every ~20 minutes or so.
that’s all it is? back to wvw i go. while the rate of champ bags isn’t 8 every 20 minutes(although it can be) it’s definitely a more reliable way to get them.

it’s actually a very simple reason. expecting hundreds of random people who don’t know each other very well to work together is probably one of the most unrealistic expectations ever.
learn to kite bro i run 3 wells and am always the last one standing i win by pure offense im a 100% assassin gear with zerker access (only because assassin doesnt have an acc set) and with that im rolling 20k hp before vit buff from guard def traits. and im ticking wells for 5k and i deal plenty of weakness blind and chill to reduce the out going damage on the “instawin club” learn to play bro just stop whining and learn to play warriors are my kitten
i roll 21k before guard buff. yay. you seem more like you’re bragging rather than offering actual conjecture. necromancers have a problem with mobility, which is the main reason i die at all. i simply don’t like to run wells, so i don’t run them. also, how would you like me to kite when i’m running daggers? scratch that, it’s possible. i just do less damage. that and i don’t have a leap making kiting actually possible. or i could put on an axe, if i wanted to.
JQ just completed Gold Boss Blitz event a couple of times. 1st try was silver and then 2 consecutive gold! Its so much fun, just requires a little bit of coordination, like 7-9 people (even less) on each boss. Oh that excitement when the clock comes to 1:00 min XD
Such a break from mindless zerging and button smashing, the loot was okeyish (my rng sucks) but is was so much fun!!

also taking into account the Fact he was using quickening zephyr alot. if it was truly lowered, then it was to reflect the skill tooltip. or because they didn’t want thief and engineer’s pistol to be able to fire as quickly.(they shared the same 1/2 tooltip)

One is nerfed (understandable) due to players letting events fail
Two remain for awhile
Then champ drops are nerfed (especially those coins)

QD nerfed too the ground (possibly to the center of the earth one might say)I’m not much affected. I participated a bit in the chains, but I would get bored too quick and got sick of the drama (especially in QD – /clap clap btw). So I can rightfully say I am not whining about these changes.
But What the Heck!. I’m confused, if you buff champ loot and then discourage trains. You encourage zergs/trains, but nerf the one most accessible. Was the intention all along to kill the occasional champ for loot and that ultra rare but ultra cool skin?? Should I participate in FG, Orr, EotM chains or are there nerfs incoming there too? Ban-hammers coming??
So what ANET is your vision about champs and farming them? What is your opinion of zerging and trains? Why encourage them through game design and then nerf?

Answer is NO to farming. What don’t you understand about that? They said from beta they don’t believe in farming. They have it so you only get one champ bag a day from them, not every 20 minutes, that was an exploit.
i guess i’ll have to get powerful venom sacs and elaborate totems to appear out of sheer force of will then. i mean i get it, legendary weapons should be hard to obtain, but when you eliminate the easiest and least headache inducing method to obtaining them, what’s left? if they won’t allow champ farming, do they think that people won’t go farm random mobs that have better chances of dropping x T6 materials? by that logic, when will that be eliminated too?

The video makes it very apparent what the old shortbow used to do. It was changed early on in the game to fix some graphical issue, so if you’re new to the ranger you wouldn’t have noticed.

all i see in this video is 1oneoneone11111oneone. if that’s how you want to play ranger you’re not helping your case at all. ranger is a class that bads flock to like seagulls flock to french fries. part of the major problems rangers face are the fault of the player. although it is given that they need some serious attention.

Awesome, depicting Necromancer as a decent class
First of all you don’t get 20k Hps unless you get Vitality on your gear; then you show again Death Shroud as an impressive ability giving more hps, when, effectively it is just strong in 1v1 with full Life Force and scales horribly in large fights, because the damage done will tear it apart in seconds.
Also, 5 bone minions mention from Lichform are the best part, they’re really scary…
first of all 12k hp does not get ripped to pieces if you dont pretend your 1200 toughness necro is a front line you play mid lines right behind the warriors and guardians ans stay at axe range for the first impact of the fight. and when your down to killing all the good players after the bad ones have been roflstomped yes 5 bone minions will live long enough to kill someone i usually use them to target a thief and mesmer since they automatically focus attack whoever you attacked last so you can direct their damage with lich form auto attack which with a good zerker build hits for over 5k.
funny joke dude. although i’m glad people are finally starting to realize a counter to uber conditions. the strange thing about power necros is that, like thief, (most of)their dps is single target. wells are the exception and so is lich form. i get focused so hard in wvw that my effectiveness is brought down to zero in a matter of seconds. (yay hammer trains while being a dagger necro) if zergs are having problems dealing with enemy necros i suggest they learn to use the real broken class more effectively: warrior.
might i suggest you first drop all your wells in the moment of impact with the enemy zerg and then use axe skills instead of thinking your a heavy armor class and going straight in for the dagger kill during the highest spike in damage in the entire fight? my dagger necro gets plenty of dagger kills. and for the record i use axe/dagger dagger/focus
some of us don’t use wells sport. they offer less survivability. i run a spectral build with plague signet which means i pull targets to me. i live longer than most necros but being a necro, 20 warriors with an instawin club>me. ranged or not.
i’m still pretty mystified that they gave a skill so infamously tied to vampires to elementalist; mist form. they want us to be vampiric but not make it work at all.

Thief, ele, mesmer, and ranger are on that list, yet they do not have access to any more stability then necromancer, yet none of there damage avoidance skills function when they are CCed. Clearly they all need kitten stability skill too.
thief ele and mesmer also have more escapes than the rest of the other five classes combined so they don’t exactly need it do they?

If anyone can explain a “technical reason” they can’t figure out how to do a first person camera, I will crap my pants. You put the same 3rd person camera at eye level, and hide the player model. One junior programmer could bang this out in a few minutes.
With the coming HMD revolution (oculus rift) it would be really cool if this game had a first person mode like every other mmo on the planet.
lets talk about a game called skyrim. how intense were the graphics there? insane right? okay, well this game has great graphics too. imagine programming graphics like that for potentially millions of players. thinking it is not difficult to program something like that is a little astronomical.
doing what else? They removed most of the champs from the game and made the world bosses spawn at absurdly slow times with their mega server nonsense.

pop healing spring and stand on it for a few seconds; it usually works for me but i guess you really cant do anything if they put loads of conditions on you.
i honestly don’t like healing spring that much. more often than not a healing spike is needed over regen.
i usually play my ranger in wvw and i was browsing skills(and traits) for a way to get rid of conditions with an active skills. turns out we don’t have much do we?

This game seems like it would seriously benefit by having it’s own voice client so teammates could talk to each other in real time without the need for a 3rd party system each player may or may not have access to.
So I was just wondering, is there a plan to have an in-game voice communication client available? And if not currently, do you think this would be worth considering.

like i said, it’s a typical dire build. it’s been around since dire came out.
So I havent played in about a year, and am excited that anet is adding the use of additional existing weapons to current classes. Who knows when it will be implemented.
I recently got to thinking on how different weapons can work on the necromancer.
I would want a new and different play style, but have it still scream necromancer, so I came up with…..@Long Bow.
The idea I had is the necromancer uses the arrows shots to transfer evil spirits to whoever the arrows connects with causing damage and conditions. I was thinking when the arrow connects for a brief second it can show the spirit materialize, attack, then vanish. Each skill will have a different evil spirit connected to it.
Also maybe when using the same attack in succession, this will cause the evil spirit to draw life force from the wounds of the victim and have enough energy to linger around the target causing torment for several seconds or until destroyed (similar to how you can destroy the rangers vine elite skill).

I was thinking that instead of the character using the sword, there can be a shadow Fiend controlling the your sword, infront of you. Would be awesome if it shows the Fiend as a shadow figure that flickers in and out when attacking.
The idea is to have the sword on your back, but when in battle the shadow fiend takes the sword and starts fighting with the sword. Your character would look as if its guiding the demon with every attack you initiate.
So not really a pet, the shadow fiend just acts as an extension using the sword for you.
Or maybe use this idea with a Main hand @Torch while using it to guide the Shadow Fiend to attack with his bare hands/claws.
So what do you guys think? Too farfetched? Or can we see it happening?
i actually like the idea of the greatsword. i’d however tweak it to perform like the ranger’s version. auto attack 1 and 2 could be similar, but chain 3: turn into a shadow and strike your foe, while evading an attack.
GS2 could perform like ranger’s gs2. a large swiping animation but taking the form of an aatxe.
GS3 shouldn’t have a 1100+ leap though, it should be around 600(still something we need drastically.)
not sure about 4/5.
i do kind of like the sorcery end a bit more. lolinb4deathray.(sorry) it could perform exactly the same way that mesmer’s gs performs. it would be a power based weapon, with like exploding minions or something. a cone fear on gs5 would be cool, or put lich form’s#3 on gs#5, using mesmer’s animation. the GS3 skill could be like mesmer’s, only it stabs the ground summoning a bone minion at target location, exploding after the animation is over.

I just wonder why there is no wall-of-text about this topic. Am I the only one having big troubles against this noob click to win class?No mather if it is condi nec with endless fear and condition spike or power necro with hits for 4-6k per hit range attack?
I really try to get the track against necros but I can’t. This class seems so broken OP to me. Maybe it’s just the fact I prefer play engi. But today some mate flames me in tournament: you are a noob engi u must win against nec. I told him I used to have a really bad time against this noob click to win class…. Am I a noob or is necro really that hard for you guys too? What is your secret to win against them? Please tell, I really need help.
are you serious? is your entire body made of glass or something for them to hit that hard?
on a lighter note, try playing the class. seriously. i know i’m dead the second i see 2 warriors with hammers. i don’t even try to engage them.

i tested that build with my necro in solo roaming and it works great even against 3 enemies ! then i tried it in zerg v zerg annd you know

looks like a typical tanky condition build to me. i ran it a long time ago and got bored of it :/ not to mention that you’re using corrupt boon and signet of spite without epidemic. and why signet of spite? the only things worthwhile on it are the bleeds and poison.
how about change light armor across the board? i’m amazed that chain isn’t an armor class.

It should work reliable. Tracking range should be increased to 2400 ( not cast range) or the projectile should fly and track the target for as long as you remain within 1200 range of your target. At the current state its not very usefull on long range when your target is running, which is one of the main situations you use this skill
And the second situation is conferting boons with Path of Corruption trait.
Necromancers should not have such strong mobility according to the profession vision of anet.
The second situation could be a lot, converting key boons, applying pressure with the bleeds and the chill, getting to a different position during small scale stationary fights, using the chill to screw up rotations for eles..
…according to the profession vision of anet. the profession vision of anet is like socialism; great on paper, terrible in practice. necro has the attrition of a white moa. aka, insert hammer into slot b.
