The issue is not that it is made of cloth, but that it takes longer for a light armor wearer to craft than the other weights, which is not fair. They should have made there be less of a disparity between the armor weights. You cannot tell me that 11 whole days doesn’t mean anything. That’s a huge difference.

Sometimes this happens to me. Usually when we get party bugs in TA. I always start the instance, so if something happens and I leave the party to fix a bug or reset or something, the folks are not kicked. But it is really random and usually happens when other bugs are afoot.

The fractal skin box is not in the game ATM. They say it will appear in higher levels, meaning 51+, or higher.

I have no idea.

But this is really funny. Sudden stealth buff to the path that replaced tafu (which was already not run before) will make the already few people who run it likely not run it again. Lol, déjà vu

There are so many cool things to do with necros. And the Karka shell back piece is just perfect.

There are only 2 things I care about when it comes to character progression: I do not want my hard work crafting something huge to become obsolete due to higher level cap and I do not want my hard work erased by losing levels or progress.

I always thought the game was about cosmetic progression and bigger challenges (like with the increasing Fractal difficulty sense). You go as far as you can until you can’t anymore. Then you practice and try harder, while making yourself look darn good!

I feel like this is becoming less and less the case…. Ascended crafting is fine, but when you have such disparities between classes it kind of stinks (11 more days for light armor, for instance or even 1-handed versus 2 handed weapons (vision crystals)). I feel like it wasn’t thought about much, and considering how much time and thought we put into it on the forums and on the game I guess that offends me.

Okay, I’ve stopped research for the moment. We’ll see. hehe.

Edit: I love the game too. I’ve spent my share of money (probably over 500 dollars) to keep supporting it. I just felt, until now, that I couldnt keep supporting it. I could bring my money else where. But we will see.

As we were looking at the fractal reworks we wanted to change the relative values of how hard it was to work through the fractals, because of this we wanted to bring everyone to a common starting point. We knew this was going to be controversial but we really wanted everyone to be on an even play field and once we got the feedback about it we started looking into ways we could mitigate this risk. This is a common practice we do with all releases and risks and sometimes like with this one we were not able to do anything due to time constraints and tech. It’s wasn’t our goal to devalue peoples time and effort and when reworking stuff sometimes these types of tradeoffs happen. We wanted to create a new scaling paradigm that would give us more room in the future for adding fractals and we felt the current systems was harder to scale. Our original design was for players to go past 50 but this wasn’t able to happen in time.

I really don’t think so. Because of the 3 day requirement, it’s hard for gold sellers to succeed in using it to sell, so I don’t think they flag it.

Also you don’t send him gold using the bank, you deposit it. He withdraws it.

Edit: inculp, I’d quote you but my flood control is too high, but I agree. However I think that due to the system anet has to have some way of distinguishing non gold selling from gold selling and it is a good way.

They say that writing in the PM what the gold is for and why you’re giving it helps them see you aren’t gold selling. I’m not sure how true it is

You could make your own guild though, having just you and him in, and transfer things through the guild stash. It isn’t all that expensive to do, just takes a little time. (Remember that new guild members cannot interact with the stash for 3 days upon joining, though.)

Also, on the topic of Arah p4, when I finally beat it, and got my little title, I found that of the 8 hours I had wasted pugging it prior to that and the 3 hours it took my group to complete I could have easily farmed the gold to buy the path. I didn’t, no, but it occurred to me that I’d rather be doing trivia giveaways in LA making people smile. I’ve never run the path again, and won’t until a. I learn how to melee Lupi, and b. get an invite to one of these amazing poster’s parties. (A of course has to happen first).

I teach the paths I know. I appreciate it when another dungeon veteran interjects opinions. When teaching, say, one newbie, it makes sense to have the 4 others discussing the best way to do things, if say, my way isn’t the best way for every situation. See, because, I’m okay with being wrong about things.

4 people talking is not confusing. It is called a conversation. A discussion. If we all disagree (which isn’t really likely as there is usually at most 2 options) we choose at random. Adults compromise.

There is no need for a leader in the dungeons. It should be 5 equal heroes working together to reach a common goal.

And I think by communism, you mean “I’m not a fan of tyranny, but in dungeons I want to be the leader and have no one question me. Then I want them all to graciously appreciate my squashing of their personal choice, freedom, and thinking.”

You say that you like playing with newbies because they don’t run their mouths. What that tells me is that you don’t like to run with people who might “challenge your authority” as though you are some god among men in the dungeons, and that the only person who can possibly be right is you.

What this tells me is that this discussion is meaningless because you are so stuck up in your own beliefs that are false that nothing anyone can say will change your absurd vendetta.

It might be that people aren’t as keen on making their ascended weapons (either the main people have finished making theirs or people are focusing on armor instead).

I expect that once ascended crafting has been around a while some mats will go down in price, as the supply will be pretty stable and the demand will lower.

They did this sort of thing right before seasons started (I think that’s when they did it). They do have discounts occasionally. Sometimes medium and low transfers were both free.

Zelyhn did that because we have been ignored in the Fractured forum for 3 weeks. I just want to point out that. He incited spam that was within reason. We have been begging, on our virtual hands and knees for a response and have gotten nothing but a single CC post saying that feedback is being gathered, and now we are a week or so away from the sub forum being archived.

My infractions are basically completely from that forum. Zelyhn as well, I think. When normal posters and staples of the forum community are suddenly getting infracted like crazy maybe that should be a warning sign to moderators, CCs, and developers that something is going really fraking wrong.

One day I was really really witchy. I go into a level 35 fractal with a good friend and a few pugs. I’m an ele, friend was a guardian, 2 condi necros, and a Mesmer.

We take forever to kill bloom hunger. I whispered my friend and said, “hey if we leave now we can probably get through all of the fractals with a new group quicker because this group sucks” and he was like “ah… Let’s wait and see.”

We get to harpy, second fractal, they take forever to skip the harpies. I’m raging. I ask my friend again if I can go. He says let’s wait and see with the champs.

We kill the rabbit. We kill the vet. We start killing the charr while my friend kites the Ettin, and one condi necro says "we should have fought all champs together, pings epidemic ". Now I don’t know how to play necro. I don’t know if this guy was right to want that or not.

I say “killing them separately reduces the chance we wipe and have to go back through the harpies”

He goes “yeah because this is my first BBQ.”

We kill Ettin, I collect my loot. I type “GL HF” and leave party. Sign out. Play Pokemon.

I got 1 infraction point, and had a 60 second flood control. A couple weeks later, a second infraction point, and it was increased to 120. I think the flood control lasts a month, and the severity is reliant on the number of infraction penalties you have active at the moment.

Yikes. Well, apparently it was a three-point haiku, which surprised me to no end since what was deemed inappropriate was so subtly hinted at. I guess it bothers me that it was meant as good, clean humorous innuendo and I got slammed while other posters in the same thread are insulting the game and ArenaNet without anyone apparently caring.

There is not a single part of me that understands how that haiku is worse than the garbage that spews from several posters’ keyboards every day (including my own). I called someone a dirty scrub yesterday and didn’t even get a warning.

I think there’s an issue sometimes with specific moderator sensitivity. Some really care more about things that even myself, as a teacher, put up with daily from my students (which is normal nowadays). I’m not sure why you were treated so harshly. I definitely deserve a 300 s flood control, but I can’t see how that haiku does.

Thing I can touch on. You are in Queensdale on one of the largest servers. There is a Queensdale champion train that farms the champions on most large population servers. These people get mad when their train gets screwed up due to a person killing a champion “too early” so that’s what that is about. I recommend leveling in another starting area. Metrica Province and Wayfarer Foothills are both gorgeous areas that do not have this issue.

Things have changed over the past few months, mainly more areas are being populated due to champion loot buffs and farming materials is great $$$. Also the living story changes other areas.

I assume train means they have them set so they are always leveling based on the circle they are running? Is train one person or a group? Is that the most efficient way to level? I ask, since its my 1st char i am not in a rush, but perhaps when i start a new one i would want to go that way. Also, from what i read the fastest way is to up skill and PvP.

Thanks, this information does help. Since really new, i was like hmmmmm people were only ever this mad in GW 1 pre when you opened the gate and did not leave or killed their death farm minions.

It’s a group, yes, we call them zergs. There are a couple in various areas. It’s decent for leveling, but it can be mind numbingly boring.

Pvp you are automatically lvl 80, so that’s a bit of a different system which I don’t know much about.

I think the most fun way to level is either running around in a wvw Zerg or mapping new areas. When you’re brand new to the game, new areas can really astound you. Queensdale is just… Packed full of people who take their champ farming very seriously, so don’t feel like the community is all work and no play. Heh.

Interesting find, last time i was there they werent complete. Though i doubt they are for this arch, if anything it is for the second arch which will most likely be back to the dragons, hopefully the Krakaltoric (or w/e his russian name is). All I know is that one of those portals will definitely take you to Orr. Perhaps we might even have a land expansion.
