Why anyone would waste money on rich dragon coffers is beyond me.
To sell them after the event ends of course!
Hopefully at hugely inflated prices.
Gambling is not a scam
Exactly.
If the boxes said they contained a guaranteed item, and then didn’t, THAT would be a scam. The boxes say there is a chance at an item, which is the truth.
I have one guild for PvE dungeons, another for roleplay, and another for commendations.
I wish I could have chat active for all of them at once.
The only thing wrong with the dungeon is that it is limited.
The venn diagram is spot on. Temp content is fine, and difficult content is fine, but making temp content difficult ends up screwing over a lot of people.
What is this obsession players have with looking at butts? There’s always someone complaining that clothes aren’t skimpy enough. Why? There are plenty of choices of skimpy clothing!
It’s called variety.
There are very few pants without skirts, and (much more importantly) very few tops that do not come with skirts, at least for medium armor.
I bought several thousand, which are sitting in my bank. I’m thinking they’ll be worth a bit more than the 1s2c copper I bought them for after the event ends and they stop dropping.

NA is North America.
Although this seems really unlikely, it would be a cool addition to the personal story to include character relationships/family, to go along with customizable player or guild housing.
Until then, there’s always roleplaying. Divinity’s Reach on the Tarnished Coast server is full of RP.
If you’re having trouble finding nodes, try guesting on a low-pop server.
It is so annoying to see portals all the time, or players giving swiftness in mid- air.
Just please remove skills from the jumping puzzles, if not.. well have fun i wont play them anymore..
So, you’re going to quit because other people use portals? Why can’t YOU just not use the portals? It’s not like anyone is forcing you to use them.
The reason people use swiftness is because certain classes do not have a 25% movement signet or equivalent skill. If I am on my guardian, I use my staff swiftness before some of the longer jumps because it makes them a lot easier. There are a few jumps in certain puzzles where movement boost is required to get across. The only way to solve this is to give every class a 25% movement signet. (which I support)
I bought the heavy set because the gloves look awesome on my guardian. I’m still trying to decide whether I like the shoulders or not… the huge gear looks great now but it’s also the sort of thing I’d probably get sick of after a few weeks.
I very very VERY much like that they were directly buyable though. If they had been RNG-acquired I would not have bothered.
So for example in this case instead of Marjory’s Journal we’d get a ticket that lets us choose one of the following:
Holographic Wings
Shatterer Wings
Jade Weapon Ticket
Dragon Helm Pack (Gift of the Dragon Bash)
Mini Racing Moa
Holographic Risen Knight
Or Marjory’s Journal
Maybe I’m just weird, but out of that list the most appealing thing is the risen knight, because of the 20s I’d get from selling it. Holo items are kiddy trash, and while the dragon weapons are nice looking, the color isn’t right for any of my characters. WTB gold or white versions.
Yes please, especially considering a lot of story modes are more difficult than some paths.
You should come to Tarnished Coast. The other day we had 3 mesmers porting people to the top. It took me <5 minutes and I didn’t have to fight anyone.
One dropped in the open world for me. I salvaged it with a black lion kit and got… a few tier 4 ore.
where can I see the news about the first expansion? or anything related
There isn’t any news.
If someone says something will be in the expansion, they’re making it up. On an unrelated note, the expansion will have flying mounts and 40 man raiding.
I would love to have the option to make macros for the horn and choir bell, similar to LOTRO’s music system. That was one of my favorite parts of that game.
All I’ll say is that I am so thankful PvP activities are NOT required to get the reward chest.
This is the one thing I really dislike about this game, all the temporary content. I’ll be gone for a few days too and I don’t want to miss out on anything. :/
Just thought up a Most Interesting Man meme:
I don’t always have 200% magic find.
But when I do, I slaughter the faction that gave it to me."
The rewards are not worth the risk, time, or even the travel costs.
I could spend X amount of time at one of the temples and get, in all likelyhood, 2 blues and one guaranteed 1 yellow. The yellow I would dismantle for a chance to get 0 to 3 ectos, or 0 to 57 silver (ecots = 19s each), plus a few silver for the blues.
Or I could farm Southsun with 300% magic find and get a guaranteed 15 t6 per hour (low estimate, usually it’s around 20) + good chance at rares/exotics (FAR FAR higher chance than in Orr) + loads of t5, greens, and a few Southsun crates. And all this with zero chance of dying.
Even dragon events are not worth doing. I was in Frostgorge the other day doing my daily (4 Shiverpeak events) and I noticed Jormag was up. Why would I waste 20 minutes to get 1 yellow when I could finish my daily instead and then head to Southsun?
Why would you need a party to kill one man. In other dungeon there are lots of other mobs.
Why does this “dungeon” only have 1 man in it? In other dungeons there are lots of other mobs.
Again, not fun. Can we bring back the F&F dungeon please?
I agree with this. My guild got a group together right after the patch went live, and we were all very disappointed it would not let us do the dungeon together.
It’s fine if some people want to solo it but there should be the option to have a group.
I’ve been running around in Orr all day between breaks in my personal story (in Orr), and have no magic find and always forget to eat food… But we’re running 10% magic bonus in my guild right now – so 10% is all the bonus I have.
But there are 2 exotics in my bags right now that were not there this morning. Plus my crafting mats have been filling up like crazy again, and I’ve vendored a ton of stuff.
/shrug.
Cool map completion story, bro.
There is a guild on Tarnished Coast that is solely devoted to allowing small-guild players to do guild content. We don’t ever require repping (other than while you’re attending an event, obviously) and bounties take place at least once a week, sometimes more.
Contact Aceros for an invite.
I’ve been doing that route the past couple weeks, and it’s definitely the best non-CoF farming I’ve come across, especially with the extra 200% magic find.
Running with a small group is best, though soloing is decent as well if you have a good underwater character. Guardian with spear and greatsword works wonders.
I bought Pyre when it was 3g, and look akitten now…
I should’ve bought a stack when I had the chance. :/
I’d be fine with that.
It’s why I only play classes with a 25% movement signet.
It’s moderately useful for farming scales and bloods underwater, but it’s not worth it at the current cost of gems.
They should be used as the equivalent of HoM rewards whenever Guild Wars 3 comes out.
Southsun’s 200% magic find has been good to me. I went from 150 powerful bloods to 200 in just a few days of grinding.
Spicy Pumpkin Cookie isn’t a discoverable recipe, you need to buy the recipe from the Halloween vendor, which sadly is no longer available.
Pro tip: Mesmers can port you to the top of the JP.
When I was there earlier, there were 3 mesmers at the puzzle all doing ports. It took me 30 seconds to get the puzzle chest and another minute to find the 11th sample.
I tested it, and it does make it soulbound.
Heavy Moldy Bags and similar bag drops from end game zones will give you all the leather you’ll need. Check out Malchor’s Leap and Cursed Shore, they drop from almost everything in those zones.
Conversely, go to Southsun and pick up the 200% magic find buff the Living Story NPCs are handing out (limited time only) and do events. Then sell the loot you get and buy leather.
Ah crap well I’m never going to get 25/25 achievements:(
Just keep at it, I’m sure you can. There are more than 25 total achievements, so you have options on what you plan on doing. Every achievement counts towards it, so go do a few of them and you’ll be there before you know it.
So i can actually skip crabtacular?
I have 25 achievements and I haven’t gotten any of the crab toss ones, other than the one you get for discovering it.
Collect all the samples, explore the map, talk to the relevant NPCs, and do events and you should be good.
Pros: EVERYTHING!!!
Cons: Nothing.
I’ve gotten exotics from them, but it’s very rare. Usually just greens, t5 gems, and crests.
It they dropped T6 mats, I would do every puzzle every day.
9/10 for the F&F dungeon. Even with the bugs, it was a lot of fun.
1/10 for the new Cursed Shore event scaling. Who even asked for this??? The events were fine how they were.
One of the recipes dropped for me from the final chest in the F&F dungeon.
If you know the names of the recipes, you can buy them from the AH. They were around 5 silver each, last I checked.
Didn’t they not just add more to the game in WvW merchants?
Are there new sets? The last I checked, the new WvW armor sets were identical to ones you could already get from PvE. They just provided an alternate way of getting them.
If they disabled culling and allowed us to turn off spell effects, it would at least be fair, because then we could see the enemies, see them charging their skills, etc.
Being 1-shot by an enemy you can’t even see isn’t fun.
Did anyone even ask for Cursed Shore to be buffed? I seem to remember the requests for higher event scaling were for the Frozen Maw, Jungle Worm and other low level bosses.
It’s like they want everyone in CoF…
Meanwhile, Frozen Maw still goes down way too fast….
Did Grenth really need a boost at all? It was already a pretty good challenge as it was. Some of the temple bosses could’ve used a slight boost (Dwayna) but Grenth and Melandru were fine as they were.
Yay! Good to know, I’ve been using the omnom creams since launch.
When my group wiped on the final boss, the moment everyone was ressed at the waypoint it ported us back to the boss and restarted it before everyone was ready. We wanted to be able to pause a moment and discuss tactics, but it threw up back in immediately without warning.
This 1000×.
I took toughness to give myself a little defense, not to be a tank. If there was a pow/pre/vit stat for armor, I would definitely take that instead, even though toughness (other than aggro) is a much better stat for my build than vit.
Sometimes I wonder if going full berserker would actually increase my survivability. It probably would, given how much aggro I get. Berserker shouldn’t be a defensive build.
I would “nerf” CoF by buffing the rewards of other dungeons.
