Just generally asking a question. Why do some people have to be so unhappy?
Town clothes RUINED.
Looks nothing like a cat.
I guess you are making a joke but if you are not:
This forum exchanges swear words with the word “kitten”.He means it looks like something you find on men but not on women.
Beards?
I wish there was a way to turn off viewing other people’s back items. I can’t stand seeing wings and pink backpacks.
A permanent speed increase for all professions breaks other game dynamics. They have too much invested in things like jumping puzzles, which are typically spaced for the current standard speed (Anyone who says a speed buff helps in JPs are deluded). The only other way to do it is with what they’ve done. Make it optional with skills/traits.
speed does help in jp (some more than others) with a speed boost you jump further and in some situations this can allow you to bypass sections of the puzzle. If nothing else it helps a lot in the wider gaps in jumping puzzles
Granted, speed may help in some limited instances, The Collapsed Observatory is one example where a part could potentially be skipped, but overall, a majority of the puzzles are designed for standard speed. I’ve done all the jumping puzzles, all on standard speed, and I can only think one instance where haste has a benefit and that is Griffonrook Run, which is probably the most difficult of all the JP chests to get…run it naked, really, I learned that the hard way!!! The only other puzzle I remember having any real problems with is Dark Reverie (And haste would not have helped), those who have done it, know the exact jump I’m talking about (A height thing to a very small landing, not distance). Puzzles where platforms pop up that you have to jump to like Spekks’s Laboratory (Run this one naked too), Clock Tower, Snow Globe, Skipping Stones, etc (Most of which I would argue would be near impossible with haste), or others with very small, easy to overshoot landing areas like Not So Secret and Coddler’s Cove would be SO much more difficult and time consuming with haste.
I think it might just be a matter of play style. I’ve done almost every puzzle with and without speed, and I’ve found in every case the speed boost makes it much easier for me. It’s a significant enough difference that I simply don’t do puzzles on my guardian anymore. I log on my ele or thief instead.
Nope.
I’m tired of the wide disparity between how male and female armor looks, yes, but it has nothing to do with how much skin shows. I’d just rather the sets be more similar-looking. If a set is revealing on females, it should be revealing on males too.
But currently there isn’t a male in sight, nor has there been for a while.
Mad King? Bloody Prince?
Yes, please!
Skins bought in the gem store should appear in the same menu the Zenith weapons do.
What I like is that it guarantees champs stay alive long enough for me to hit them and get credit.
I hope all champs get a downed state.
I wonder, if it were the opposite, with two male leads to every female lead, if anyone would notice, or if we’d just take it as “normal?”
Or you don’t know how much you really aren’t relating to male characters as much as you think you do.
My favorite TV show is The Venture Brothers. Out of a cast of dozens of characters, probably close to 90 to 95% are male. Yet I have no problem relating to them as people or enjoying the show.
Most video games that don’t have a gender option are male-character-only. Plenty of women play and enjoy the Grand Theft Auto series, as just one of many examples. Do you have issues playing Tomb Raider?
I’m just wondering, where are the male/male pairings? Correctly me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think I’ve seen a single one in this game. Lesbians are cool but gay guys are icky, is that supposed to be the gist?
I would definitely like to see a male/male pair as lead characters, although I wouldn’t want them to be gay just for the sake of having gay characters. So far GW2 has been really good about portraying homosexual relationships. Caithe isn’t a token lesbian character, she is a character who happens to be lesbian. (or bisexual, it’s not made clear which she is)
Probably whenever Tower of Nightmares Part II begins.
Marjory’s weapon will prob be available then too.
I wonder if they will use the same achievements when they reuse the content next year. If they do it would give a chance for people that missed them this year, but it would make it so people who got them this year would have no new ones to get.
I hope so. I never really did any of the Halloween achievements (too busy leveling at the time) and I hope to be able to make up those points eventually.
What I want is high heels that actually make your character taller.
What we have in all MMOs that I’m aware of are high heels that keep you the same height, but make your legs shorter to compensate for the heels.
Out of curiosity, how many non-precursor exotics did you get? (if you kept note)
somewhere in the 30s.
Holy crap, I thought it was reckoned to be about 20% returned a higher quality item?
It is, but RNG is RNG.
Yesterday after a Frostgorge champ run, I threw just over 100 greens into the forge, and got back ONE yellow, which I salvaged and did not receive an ecto from. Sometimes you just have terrible luck.
I joined SoR because everyone said they were rp server in wvw.
Can’t tell if you got trolled, or if you’re trolling.
Just in case it’s the former, the RP server is Tarnished Coast. People don’t really RP in WvW though, you’d be better off in Divinity’s Reach or the hunting lodge in Queensdale.
Yeah it’s pretty lame. I’ve used a focus all the time for months and I have ~ 50 focus kills. There needs to be a better way than by standing in place spamming offhand 4,5 on a group of rats over and over.
It should be changed to “killing blows while equipped.”
Are people actually attracted to the watch knights? I don’t find them sexy at all. Is this really what people find appealing these days?
http://dulfy.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/gw2-mini-watch-knight-queens-jubliee-achievements.jpg
and it degrades women
This is the part where I say, “You don’t speak for me.” You may be offended as an individual but you may not be offended on my behalf.
If it’s optional, AND it doesn’t cause clipping, I’d be ok with this addition.
Thanks for the feedback everyone and please keep it coming. Personally, I find that one of the hardest parts of being a desginer on GW2 Live is coming to terms with the fact that not every update will please every player. We do our best to deliver appealing content with enough variety to keep as many people as satisfied as possible. And If there’s one thing we can do consistently, it’s improving the experience of said content each time. I think we made some great strides with the Jubilee. I think we have a lot of room to keep growing. But our team isn’t done yet. We’ve got some exciting things coming later this month. Things you’ve never seen in this game before.
But in the mean time, please keep telling us what you’re thinking. We are listening. Not only to what you’re saying but also to what you’re not. The very first living world team actually did the thing some of you have called for. Some 40 or so permanent events were added around the game in our very first content update. They were met with little interest or fanfare. Granted, Halloween may have stolen the show. But those events are still in the game today. I’ve seen very little reaction to them, however, positive or negative. Despite this, there are many events I would still like to add. Many zones and bosses I would love to revisit. As we get better at the living world, I strongly suspect we’ll have room to get around to them as well. Assuming that’s what our players really want. You are all the second half of the collaborative process, so thanks for helping!
I really liked the mini dungeons, especially the one in Caladon with the tic tac toe puzzle.
The problem is that I didn’t even know these minidungeons existed until the Aetherblade living story asked me to go there for the achievement. At the time I actually thought they had been added with that living story update. I feel that if their existence had been better communicated, they would have been more popular.
You should skip the crafting 500/ascended update stuff and keep making more of this.
Nah, what they should do is skip the ascended garbage and add more permanent open world dynamic content.
You know, the stuff most of us bought this game for? I would love if every zone had one or two Balthezar’s temple-style massive, full map event chains, or even multi-map chains.
All I want is more permanent open-world dynamic events.
Massive, multi-map event chains ending with world bosses would be amazing. The Balthezar temple event chain is a perfect example of what I want, why can’t every map have one or two of these chains?
I hope it’s just a bug. I like that there are multiple ways to get things in game.
Why did the Queen build the balloon towers in such remote and dangerous places?
Middle of the wilderness.
On top of remote mountain peaks.
In the center of a hostile Inquest base.
Outside the entrance of a troll cave.
Underneath a huge tree that the balloon would surely get caught in when it tries to take off.
etc…
It seems like if she had built the balloon stations in towns and forts, or at least beside roads, the diplomats wouldn’t have such difficulty traveling there.
I think it’s bad enough the Queen demolished Balthezar’s shrine. Now she has the blood of scores of foreign dignitaries on her hands as well!
It would’ve been a lot better if the gauntlet and the first floor champ zergfest were in different instances. The worst is when a champ spawns right under the arena you’re trying to do. You have to either wait until the champ is dead and the zerg has moved on, or deal with low fps.
I’m waiting a few days before I start the gauntlet. Hopefully the population will calm down after a few days. (unlikely given how amazing the zerg rewards are)
Yes please.
I have a hair style kit in my bank. Every time a major patch comes out, I check for new hair styles.
Human females need a fully shaved head option.
The east tower in Plains of Ashford, and the west tower in Queensdale did not work for me. They both appeared already opened when I got there.
The devs have confirmed that that information in inaccurate. You don’t need 5 gambits to get the achievement.
I’d love to see Rubric armor too. Currently you can get the chest from a story mission, but none of the other pieces are available.
To get the Liadri mini you just have to defeat the final boss of Queen’s Gauntlet. You don’t have to have five gambits active.
Awesome. I take back my complaints about the event.
+ the dev said he really wanted to work on the Abaddon fractal.
The next fractal will probably be about the liberation of Quaggans from the Krait. Epic.
I hope the next one is picking blueberries with Trahearne.
I don’t think there’s a single person here who wouldn’t love to watch Trahearne pick blueberries.
I think it’s good that Kiel won because of the sheer amount of hype surrounding Abbadon. I feel that the Abbadon fractal would have been a disappointment because of that hype, no matter how well done it actually was. It could be the best fractal ever and there would be people saying it didn’t live up to their expectations.
Whereas… everyone has been saying Thaumanova is boring and won’t be any good, meaning that it will very likely exceed expectations.
Well if these are the same testers who in beta said that explorable modes were so hard that they never managed to beat them then I am not too worried…
That makes me feel a bit better. I had assumed the beta testers would be pros.
Defeating the final boss of Tier 3, Liadri the Concealing Darkness, will reward you with a Mini Liadri the Concealing Dark pet which resembles her likeness. However, only around 8% of the testers at Arenanet have defeated her after several weeks.
Excitement gone. ~sigh~
What ever happened to balancing content around the average player?
There are achievements for putting on a maximum of 5 gambits on yourself while defeating third tier NPC encounters,
~sigh~
AND it’s temporary. I was really looking forward to this, but now not so much.
Well real world accomplishments would be a very great place to start. The football player that dedicated a significant part of his life training his body and mind to become a great football player, yep.
- The person that spends countless hours clicking keys in a game and gets some pixels for it, no.
Ok… Would you be impressed if your friend, who allways was quite clever, would win chess championship?
Yes but chess actually takes skill, whereas the majority of getting a legendary takes luck and the ability to do a simple task for long periods of time. Running CoF p1 1,000 times and/or farming pen/shelt (or whatever today’s solo farming equivalent is… haven’t been to Orr in months) hundreds of hours doesn’t impress me.
The worst part is being constantly 1-shotted from full health.
How about giving us some decent combat instead, instead of whomever hits their keyboard fastest?
Businesses don’t need to rip customers off to be successful.
But pirates do.
And Evon is a pirate. :p
Yes, please. I can’t stand dalies, and now that we have daily time-gated content (crystals… and more coming), it’s even worse. Dailies were by far the WORST thing WoW invented/popularized, and I really dislike their inclusion in GW2. The whole reason I play this game is because it’s the one decent fantasy MMO that isn’t a WoW clone.
I’d use all $1 billion to buy gems, and then buy EVERYTHING on the trade post.
No, not really. The only time I’m impressed with another player is if I see a high end sPvP title, or something like that.
Multi-guild chat and/or custom chat channels.
Games that are too dark hurt my eyes. No thanks.
If you want it darker, turn your gamma all the way down.
Shields are useful, but the aegis effect ruins how they look so I don’t use them.
I really dislike being 1-shotted from full health.
Combat just comes down to who pushed their button first. If Survivor used Aspect Arena’s combat system it would be a lot more fun.
Can’t really spoil anything but August has no jumping puzzle and we definitely wanted to steer away from instanced mini-games.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was able to complete T4 with a lot of time and effort without exploits… but it REALLY sucked. It certainly isn’t something I’d play for fun.
It seems like their new content is geared towards the “I killed Lupercus in 10 seconds” crowd you sometimes see make bragging threads on Reddit. What ever happened to content being balanced around the common player?
The lesson learned here (which is the same lesson for every new content release) is to always always ALWAYS do your achievements the first day content is released, because it will always eventually get “fixed” for increased difficulty.
I’m glad it got bumped. Loot drops are so low I don’t even bother farming anymore. I just log in, do my daily, and log out.
I have an aetherized shield I’m just sitting on right now, because I don’t know how it will look with the aegis. There’s no way to preview how it will look… I may end up selling the shield rather than taking the risk of equipping it and losing 60g.
How are you acquiring the skins? I assume you’re buying them from the trade house (posting orders between 35 and 45) and reselling 50 to 60?
The warhorn is not only the best looking Aetherized weapon, it is the best looking warhorn in the game. The reason none have shown up is because everyone who has been lucky enough to get one has kept it.
There is a pitchfork, but unfortunately it’s classified as a trident.
