One does not simply want to make valk armor. Vita is basically the worst you can have.

I think POI’s are the worse, the best being way points and Hero points, especially with HoT elite’s around the corner.

Some of the POI’s are this tiny clear square buried in some mountain. It never fails when I am one objective away from map completion it always is a POI, and I end up hunched over the keyboard, zooming in and combing through the map for it.

Also the new Hero point emblem is quite obscure.

I thought about it, but the fundamental problem with that armor set is it requires charged quartz, which is time gated. At least you can have six pieces in six days, but if you want to deck an elementalist out in full ascended celestial you’ll need to put that on hold.

you only need charged quartz to make charged ambrite, and you can BUY the charged ambrite for about 1g 40s right now, so for charged ambrite at least, there is no time gate

or in other words:

buy the 6 charged ambrite from the TP

buy the intricate sinister insignia recipe and verata’s sinister insignia recipe from the silverwastes (1k crests total)

buy the recipes for verata’s sinister armor from the TP

make verata’s sinister armor.

buy the celestial intricate gossamer insignia recipe from the TP

make 6 gossamer insignias (this is the worst part, since it takes 30 days to get all the charged quartz)

throw them in the forge with the armor, an anthology of heroes, and 5 ecto.

voila! a set of celestial ascended armor with no laurel cost and no extra time-gating besides the charged quartz for the insignias (which is unavoidable anyway)

Nice I thought about this, I want to make Valk armor but I have over 3k badges . I do have Laurels but i want to save them. I can make ascended Sinister then flip it over in the MF.

Could you restate this scenario through the perspective of a Quaggan?

I am torn on what armor to go with. After watching the raid boss being killed it seems we are going to be stuck with using Zerker gear again. I was hoping that I could run the Valkyrie armor/weapons with Zerker/Valkyrie trinkets/rings.

Should I just get all Zerker and assume that will be what we need to complete the fights?

I would not allow a single beta weekend raid boss, which will can only be done once a week influence how you deck out your character. I would identify what you will be doing mostly in game be is Dungreons, pvp, wvw etc and what role you would like to fill.

Personally I am sticking to Valk armor, runes of rage, with Zerk weapons and jewelry. I rolled Shiro and Herald and got a ton of support, dps, boons. I did sword/shield and staff for a solid dps self sufficient character who can take hits and dish them back in the front line.

The mini is not functioning properly. Also the fact that you have to sacrifice three minis and invest in candy corn to create the skeleton does not make the situation better. If there is no official response on the status of this mini being fixed then I highly suggest people submit a ticket requesting a refund.

Also people need to submit a bug report to make Anet aware of the issue.

My Asura Revenant invented a flux capacitor and created a time machine he envisioned from the Eternal Alchemy. Combining the use of tears and folds of the mists his revenant skills can create , he can enter the space/time continuum and travel back in time.

This past weekend helped me prep big time. I had all my prepping gear put in my bank tabs and copied it over to beta. Once I got all my gear and bought all my Ascended rings and infusions I found out I am short Laurels for a extra set of tanking gear! Looks like I will be hitting those daily log in and fill the gaps with exotic for the time being. Or pray for a ring drop with the stats I want.

I also found out I have more than enough transmutations to deck out every character I play!

I am glad the take for granted attitude of the players on that map wkittentered. I wish more world bosses would be tougher and at times just wipe the floor clean with us and fail.

If you are not sure on what stats you want, I would wait till crafting the final pieces.

However you need to make sure you are doing your time gated daily crafting mats, and I would be farming lots of nodes that are used such as Iron etc. I been banking tons of deldrimor steel and spiritwood planks. the damask is the biggest pain. I farmed money then bought the silk.

Not to mention they have over 20 million health

I thought it was me doing something wrong but I guess not. I would have Glint and wait till around the 50% health mark to flip to Shiro to use Impossible odds then Unrelenting assault, or something to that nature.

In a live stream they already stated there will be a raid currency, and you can save up this currency to buy particular items. Also there will be drops. They said even if you are not lucky on RNG you can save up currency and outright buy items from a raid vendor I assume

Also I do not expect anything to come out of raids to not be account bound. People who cannot complete the end game should not have a buy option. It devalues the entire experience of raids and the difficulty. Since nothing from raids is a higher tier in stats it will be purely for cosmetic and bragging rights.

Congrats. I also noticed everyone was an Asura? Once again, proving the master race is unstoppable. I bet those Vale Guardians were humiliated!

Hi Roy, I did not get to play much this weekend but wanted to give you something quick and easy to read while you are scanning the forums.

First off kudos for really pulling off a very unique and complicated profession which is a blast! . Playing a Revenant I can really see where the hard work and effort of you and the team has been put in. I feel the Revenant is in a very good place right now, with the obvious polish and tuning in time to come.

-I would like to see some options on changing the opacity of Herald’s symbol, and possible toggle it on/off

-I would like a option to turn off the sound effects for swapping legends. They are great don’t get me wrong, but from what you already read they get a bit old and annoying.

-When playing certain Legends I feel discouraged and hesitant at times to use weapons skills due to energy cost, especially as Herald trying to upkeep my boons. I feel the weapon energy costs needs to have a look at. Many times I feel like this buff super being who just taps auto attack. It becomes anti climatic .

Otherwise good job. I hope Mallyx gets a little love like you are planning to do, we look forward to your response to our beta feedback.

Being a thief helped wrap my head around part of the energy mechanic as initiative shares some of the same concepts. I do see where people who come from a Elementalist and Engineer background can relate to the swapping between legends. Revenant is very much like a hybrid of a thief/guardian/ele/eng just a sprinkle of everything, hence making them a jack of all trades.

The learning curve in beta is steep however. You are in a beta, with limited time. A brand new profession, instant level 80, all traits unlocked, all skills weapons and utilities unlocked, full elite unlocked and dumped into the middle of the fray. I am busy on the weekend I only had 3 hours to play sadly.

Rev is the hardest profession for the beta, but not for the overall game. They are mid tier. The other Elites are easier to learn because you have a basic understanding of the core profession, since they been in the game at launch.

Revenant in beta is the guy with the heavy armor thrown into the deep end of the pool. You better get paddling and learn

Botting refers to an automated macro program running, likely third party that runs a series of events such as keys, motions and actions on a loop. You can set it up and walk away and let it do it’s thing, or you can sit there and observe it . Good way to get banned in a heartbeat and easy for admins to detect.

Someone afk farming however is either leaving the computer or just not 100% in game. They could be sitting in the computer chair, watching a movie, and tabbing over to lay traps every few minutes. tab out and not be using any third party programs. So is it bannable to be a dirtbag and afk, leaching events? Also you will be grouped in and accused of being a bot and likely reported anyways.

As much as I like the hammer, I think there is an oversight on the Revenant design. We are the only profession that has one ranged weapon, when others have at least 2. It feels like the Rev is missing a mainhand or one hand ranged weapon like scepter or something.

SW is going to become a Ghost town after Hot goes live. Why? Because SW is the closest and next best thing to HoT.

My daughters ranger just had her three year birthday a few weeks ago. She was 8 when GW2 came out. She many only put about 15 hours in the game on the weekends I have her. She likes Minecraft much more. Funny thing is she plays the game better than some of you!

I found out you can salvage Ectos last month, and I played since beta. I knew ectos were a result of salvaging but I never tried to salvage a salvaged item?

Personally I have no interest in it. I think as long as the person selling them provides the service that was paid for in good faith I am ok with it.

The problem with Ascended crafting is when they designed it, they looked at the current market and based it off that to determine what materials were needed. It did not help with the botting crisis that the flood of mats on the TP were driven down to a dime a dozen for many things.

So when Devs seen half a billion silk sitting on the market they thought “Oh! let’s include that!”

And today we continue to suffer with the poor design decisions they made back then.

And to answer your question the healing really comes into play on your Legend. Ventari and Herald stances is where you would get heal/support. The staff in conjuction with these Legends you are in will provide solid DPS

I have enough ascended crafting mats to create a set of heavy armor and six weapons. My pve build as it stands is Valkyrie armor, runes unknown, can be might or rage. Zerk jewelry and weapons, exception is the shield I might make it with healing power/toughness based on shield 4-5.

This beta weekend will be very essential once reports come in from the Hot maps and raids and what they encountered. It might be a heads up on what direction I want to go.

Here is the post. The defiance bar got canned, no specific mention on mobile or rooted. I guess based on how it now works and our testing a feedback it will decide it’s final design before launch.

We were trying out defiance bars on player skills in a few places, but it didn’t really work out. Defiance bar is balanced around being on creatures which left some pieces of it feeling awkward for players. It also had essentially a duplicate functionality to stability. In the end we felt like it didn’t play well on player skills so we removed all player defiance bars.

Envoy of Exuberance: Decreased the energy cost from 15 to 10. Fixed a bug so that this skill will properly heal at the target location instead of around you.

Crystal Hibernation: Removed the defiance bar. This skill will now block attacks for the duration while regenerating health. Lowered recharge from 30 seconds to 20 seconds.

Are you bringing up the issue of what it looks in preview than actual? I noticed the preview box is a darker contrast so you can see particle effects. However I noticed your brightness and contrast of your game might be a bit high, drowning out the effect. have you played with the video settings or try gemfx/sweetfx?

Full Ascended will only get you an invite and a foot into the raid instance. You forgot other vital things we need to check on.

You have full Ascended but your ping runs in the triple digits because you are thousands of miles away from the nearest server hub. You also have a history of disconnects.

You have full Ascended, but your Dinosaur PC and Video card turn raid encounters into a slide show. This results in delayed skills and reactions to what is going on in game. Also your game can crash at times. Cya!

When the game was released full groups would wipe in Arah dungeon. Now we can watch a video of someone soloing it using one finger.

After HoT launches and the raid encounters are memorized to a exact science, with guides and videos made, you can prepare for forum and reddit posts with a Youtube videos with the subject line " X raid boss in full green gear defeated" or " X raid boss killed while naked," 10 man of all the same profession take down X in X time"

We have about 22 days till launch and people are spinning their wheels and grinding their teeth and gears ready to pounce and nit pick at anything since they have nothing better to do.

For the sake of prosperity if this thread is not deleted I am going to book mark it and bring it up next year just to see how people whined while still playing “Vanilla” GW2

I have a Guardian main. Dragon Hunter is on the fence for me. Thankfully I have ascended armor and weapons ready so I can switch them between my Rev and my alt which is a Warrior. My Thief will likely go Daredevil but she is a alt for WvW mainly.

I am going to invest in Tin after reading this forum. Need to craft that Ascended hat.

Also I have a ton of silk saved for My rev anyways and so I am good thankfully, change or not.
