The Honeymoon is over. Nerfs are a part of everyday life.
Send in a ticket to Anet. they can reset your ascended piece of armor and mail it back to you.
Roy confirmed that racial and elite skills will not be available for the Revenant. As mentioned before, the elite’s are tied in directly with the Legends
I guess it depends on the race. It is very fitting on my Asura. I am close to max height so my model is a bit bigger in scale. With the super sword it looks funny, especially with Impossible odds. the animations are fitting if you use a rapier or foil sword like Lord Faren’s sword and Boniters? (SP)
I just dont like the starting thrust, but i can get over it
That’s what she said.
Sound Booth: “Ok, now make a deep and loud grunt. Like you been constipated for days and you just let it all out”
Voice Actor: "Uhmm Ok?….uuuuuuu UHhhHHHHH AHHHHhhh!!!
Sound Booth: “Perfect! That’s a wrap!”
/facepalm
It looks like Orrian skin, before it was rusting at the bottle of a ocean and wielded by a one armed undead maniac.
well thankfully it is in game also, a ship in a bottle

The needs of the many outweigh the needs of a few. You did the right thing on reducing the Hero points. Thank you.
I do love hammer. 5 is great for break bars and fun watching you knock mobs on their rear is comical. 2 is win with a low cd. I do not use 3 that much, but 4 is great against those silly plant snipers and kermit assassins. I wish the animation on auto attack was sped up a bit. I just use UA and wreck.
And here I thought the Casuals were only 1 %
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

I’m a casual and I HATE the change. Please don’t lump me in with you people.
Life out here in the jungle is harsh.
The deduction to 250 was perfect for me. 19 points left and I unlock my full spec for my Herald. I can now stop stressing out and actually play my profession
Thanks for the screen shots. I am an Asura and that is a no buy for me, they really need to fix that.
So they give us 2 auto attacks and use slot 1 and 2? Under water is a hot mess. And for the damage I knew those numbers were farce considering the damage numbers not making the mob melt instantly. I do not do under water too much but I rather have them fix these issues so I don’t panic every time I step into any water over my waist height (and I am a Asura)
/\ yea you need to switch to ferocious strikes with mace/Axe and you will see a big difference. Right now your forfeiting damage by using rapid lacerations and no sword. Or you can switch to sword.
I know Under water is kitten and people have issues with Legends working under water but Rapid Assault which is spear #2 is just insane. Is this working as intended? Also when using UA.
It has 1 and 1/4 seconds cooldown, however it’s a channeled ability and the cooldown ends before the channel so you can spam it with what seems no cool down. I am not even a full damage build and was doing over 46k hits against a hero point challenge veteran.
I would buy 1000 gold worth of candy corn and troll by randomly mailing people 1 candy corn at a time. 10/10.
Because Dragon’s can’t swim… except for that one. yea..
Steve Staley does the Asura male voice, and it sounds like him. However when I go to see what he is credited doing it only shows Guild Wars 2 2012
It’s just you.

Ok thank for answers!
1000 Candy Corn for 5000 karma, this is not tempting for me.
One thing to remember is getting the 8 achievements done for the final achievement that gives you one cob as a reward. I was 7/8 , invested 1k candy corn, got the achievement and a cob back.
I would recommend doing your homework before you go out and do hero points. Dulfy has good guides and shows what mastery you need for each point, also which ones you can solo verses ones that spawn Champions etc. I do agree they need it greyed out or something especially if you need a specific lore.
But what is the purpose of using this stance, if you can’t even have the heal skill….
None. That’s why I spec the trait and not the legend itself. I just like using the swiftness from Facet of nature and a shield.
This I knew would be a problem, considering that Revenants do not get Independent utility skills, they are directly tied into the Legend.
As I try to unlock Herald I only have the trait line spec for Facet of nature which thankfully, is at the beginning.
I would farm the Halloween Labyrinth you can peal through levels fast. I took my ranger in there to farm trick or treat bags and get my achievements for carving pumpkins. I knocked out 6 levels without even paying attention.
Make sure you have Haloween +15% exp boost consumables and follow a commander. Jalis swirling hammer + hammer = loot vacuum
(edited by Linfang.1087)
Are you talking about the passive effect of Facet of nature? I know if you pop the facet the symbol goes away
I don’t have a source but the general idea given to us was Legend’s we invoke were to talk to us. More than just switching to them, but while using that legend we would at random get some input from them talking. At least that is what I took away with it.
It would be funny if your character goes idle as Shiro and he starts to complain that we are standing around not killing things.
I started in the Jungle maps and from just exploring part of the two maps with basic gliding I did around 5 hero challenges which is 50 points. This gave me a good head start since you need 65 to even get your foot in the door to spec as a Herald. Once you get to 65 it seems smoother because the next steps are not as big as a gap, and you actually become a herald.
Once you get Facet of Nature which is early in the progression it makes things faster, literally. While unlocking points on the old maps I pop facet of nature and when its on cool down I run Impossible odds. The only thing that is frustrating is this linear progression. I am grinding hero points for a minor trait I do not plan to use which sucks. I try not to think about how many points I need to the next tier I just focus on knocking out each map.
It also helps to have a website open showing where the skill points are like some of the interactive maps. That way while you are uncovering the map you can find the general direction you need to go in order to move straight from one hero point to the next. some of these maps I have not done Hero points in a few years so you kinda forget where everything is.
Great guide Obal. I was hoping you would come out with a Revenant guide considering I used your Guardian ones.
I am curious what you enjoy more at the moment, a Rev or a Guardian?
I want to be a Hearld so on my own without guides just kitten ing around in the Jungle I completed about 5 challenges on 2 maps, I am now doing World completion which for my Rev getting all the skill points and key waypoints (to world bosses) . My main already has the legit world completion. Once you unlock Facet of Nature which thankfully is very early you will be glad you invested on trying to go Herald.
My biggest concern is all the content you have to do as a non elite to become your spec. I would be so burnt out and tired once I maxed my trait line I would not want to play anymore yet alone my elite which I actually needed back then while I was getting hero points
Very nice work! You are an inspiration to us all, belive me.
Just a question, I was looking at the unlocks for the traits and it looks very piecemeal out, and I’m worried that I will unlock the first trait and have no heal, no utility etc. How deep into Herald before it was actually viable to play?
The butterfly wings and holographic wings do not have enough surface area to generate lift, nor maintain gliding in flight. Not to mention the center of lift and center of gravity ratio for a Charr.
Would like to know this also.
Last time I check it was 3500 gems at a discount of 43% is it worth it to you?
From the patch notes:
- In the Gem store it lists 3 bag slots, not 4.
A new Character Jump Start super-value package is available for one week, containing everything you need to equip a single character for extended play, including *four bag slots, a Copper-Fed Salvage-o-Matic, harvesting, logging, and mining R-tron tools, transmutation charges, and experience scrolls. Buy it for one character or split the goods across your account—it’s over 40% savings either way.
So far:
3 Bag slots: 1200 gems
Copper Fed Salvage -o- matic: 800 gems
3 unlimited use tools: 3000 gems
Transmutation charges: quantity?
Experience Scrolls ?? no info
You are in the Mad King’s realm, in a Abyss of madness and darkness. Far from Tyria.
Nice, thanks for the info. That is weird that Herald needs 65 verses 60, maybe because we are so OP as our elite they needed to make up grind out a few more skill levels?
I am glad at insta 80 I get all traitlines unlocked. That way I can L2P as I go gather up Hero challenges and get my Hearld on.
Can't level masteries in Mad King Labyrinth?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Linfang.1087
The Mad King events are in his realm, they are NOT on Tyria. Therefore, you do not get the mastery points.
I heard through the pumpkin patch you get it started by doing the mad king says event and open that big chest in LA
I am curious for anyone who insta 80 how far were you able to get. Can you unlock all 5 specialization lines ? (Minus Herald/Glint) . And speaking of Herald, is there any points left over to start banking them to get the initial 60 point unlock into the first tier in Glint?
I am trying to wrap my head around this before I make my character and spam all these tomes.
Does anyone know the names of the new weapon skins that come out of the bags?
edit: here they are

I took my lyrics I made back in the original GW2 Launch and decided to re-release it. Enjoy!
’Twas the night before Launch, when all through the forum
Not a decent thread posted, to cure us of boredom
We open the Client with no time spare
In hopes that our Revenant soon would be there
The Tome clicking was endless, there was not a shame
As we Re-rolled our reserved character names.
The Fanbois were nestled all snug in their seats
Sipping their Red Bull and eating good treats
When outside the window arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the computer to see what’s the matter.
When, what to my monitor hazed eyes should appear,
But a Revenant Rytlock, Blindfolded and geared!
He invoked fabled Legends, so lively and quick
Was Arenanet trolling me so soon with a trick?
Outrunning a Centaur as fast that they came
And Rytlock whistled, and roared, and called them by name;
Now, Jalis! Now, Mallyx! Now, Ventari! Now, Shiro!
Glint is also upon us, our one Elite Hero!
The Airships are stranded, have haste and be quick!
Adventure’s upon us, and Mordrem kittens to kick!
As the minions of Maguuma all fell to a drop.
Our Hero sprang away with no time to stop.
But I heard him exclaim, as mists vanished out of sight,
“HAPPY HUNTING TO ALL, AND PUT UP A GOOD FIGHT!”
staff 5 works good to tag and gets you a bit of distance, combined with hammer you can Leroy Jenkins your way into loot.
So you are gliding and then you get disconnected. Where does the game put you when you log back in? Does it drop you like a rock and you spawn in dead or does it place you on the ground at the place you were last connected?
Anet can troll us again like they did the Mordrem Invasion event and put a timer on Halloween events.
I hope Roy will be in game at the Dev Halloween event they have planned, I believe it is Oct 30th? My Revenant would like to thank you in person!
I have both Strength and Rage runes , but I tested rage in beta. I found them to work great and the +20% Fury duration is noticeable if you are not a/in Herald and need to camp another Legend longer than expected or your Facet of nature is on cool down. I do not like Scholar because if you are 89% health or lower you get nothing in terms of damage %, and in melee with harder content like HoT mobs its easily one hit or condition on you.
Based on all the other replies the difference is marginal. You will be well off with either set. What is not marginal? The cost between both runes!
Also keep in mind if you have Ascended and have a Warrior and/or Guardian, you might have to broaden your thought process on how those runes affect them and their builds if you plan to play other heavies.

One day to go!
Got all my armor and weapons ready. My plan is to make my rev later in the day and get some of the reports from the field with info especially skill points after maxing level 80. I have my character slot and name reserved and not going to switch any stats on my ascended until many people test after going live and see what potential their is for a damage/support meta build. Since my weekend is busy I might spend my main with pact tyria mastery and do Halloween. My aim is the dragon axe for my Rev.
Are you ready?
Claypool in Queensdale. It has that small town feel. Crafting stations also if you just want to chill and take your time working on stuff.
Since many Guardians do not plan to roll Dragon Hunter we won’t have to worry about mixing up the confusion of their icons.
However if they added in PVP a 20% damage to Herald’s while using the Dragon Hunter Elite the tables might turn
