Guild wars 2 is pay to win, however it is pay to win done stealthy.

The comparison is what you can do with a free account and what you can do with heart of thorns. While most of the options are purely cosmetic there is one big thing that pushes gw2 over the threshold of pay to win. Elite Specializations.

Pretty much every Elite Specialization is a direct upgrade of the class. so much so that if you are playing pvp you must have a elite specialization equipped or be at a disadvantage.

Go take a look at meta battle. Nearly every build that is considered “meta” (or what you should be using) is an elite specialization.

Truthfully Elite specializations should have been available to everyone, or better yet been balanced so they weren’t such a must have.

Every MMO has expansions. Every MMO raises the level cap. Every MMO adds power to expanded characters. By your definition, every single MMO is pay to win. Even Guild Wars 1 was pay to win by those standards.

The term pay to win wasn’t coined for you to complain about having to buy an expansion. The term pay to win was talking about continually having to pay money to the cash shop to stay relevant in the game.

It was how you separated WoW (and other legitimate games) from Maple Story (and other truly P2W) games.

If your personal definition of pay to win includes all MMORPGs, then I can’t see the value in using the term at all.

p2w has never had anything to do with having to pay to stay relevant. p2w most often is when paying provides you with top teir power considerably quicker than by playing normally.

which basically means gw2 became p2w with introduction of ascended, and legendary stat swap, for the average player.

building full ascended without gold requires multiple hours a day of farming for like 6 weeks.
power leveling crafting and buying the pieces takes like 3 hours with gold.

however, its not end of the world grind to get ascended, but yea real cash allows you to go straight pass the last grindy power teir.

but the game was always clear they would allow people to use money to get around thier time based power progression, its just that the progression got a lot greater as time went on.

initially, they could only get exp faster than you, and buy easily obtainable gear faster, that changed.

You are wrong in your statment that ptw is getting to the top faster.

Pay to win is getting stuff thats 5, 10, 20% higher then whats in the game normaly.

No they actualy have a point here, other mmos the one who are level 100 dont battle in spvp maps with people who are 90 or lower.

But a unlimitied free to try shouldent be considerered pay to win if all they have to do is pay for the game.
Same as everyone else to be 100% competetive in spvp.

Edit
Also anet should have seperate que´s for hot and none hot accounts (it would eliminiate the presived pay to win)

there’s really no point in asking anet quetions in this thread. MO dropped the news, didn’t like the responses he got and after that not a single anet representative has written in the thread. Why? I don’t know since I don’t work for anet (thank the Eternal Alchemy for that) but their lack of interest has convinced me that it’s exactly that reason, lack of interest. They simply do not care.

I’m pretty sure that they can’t say anything conclusive. So there’s no reason to respond.
If there was any change, or different decision regarding the subject they actually have something valuable to say and a reason to respond.

At least I don’t see any value in them coming here saying “Sorry! We’re just here to admit that there’s still no change!”every month or so.

Since the first legendary after the first 3 took 6 months or so I’m pretty sure it will take that long for them to come up with something else as well.

I would rather have them saying something then silence tho even if its bad news.

T4 fractals are the stepping stone for raids i.e. Mai Trin and Swampland for

Except that they aren’t at all.

Really lol at all the QQ threads on how difficult Swamp is at T4 it’s quiet funny, and learning mechanics is learning mechanics, you don’t need something to learn the mechanics of a fight besides doing the actual fight. All the raid bosses are easy, all that is required is learning the mechanics.

and have enough dps or you will wipe anyway, come back when you beat all raid bosses with only staff guardians using nomads. ( then will your statement all thats required is learning the mechancis be true mate )

why dont you just move inventory under pop up box, thats what i do when buying fractal keys

Why would you do that with keys when you can just enter the amount you want to buy and get 20ish with a single click?

And yes, I know moving them under the dialogue box would be faster, but it’s a very silly thing to do. Anet, you don’t need to hold people’s hands like this. Just let them learn the game the hard way. If they salvage a ton of rubies and then figure out that they need more, they can always go get more.

I know it works for bandit keys but do it really for fractal encryption keys?

And in a perfect world learning the hard way would be fine…. but this world were everyone shows up get a trophy it sadly aint.

take 4 of same yellow or orange weapon 76-80 put them together in the mystic forge and keep doing so untill your lucky enough to get a precursor.
That is the only way to not craft them.

If I were in your shoes I would salvage or out right sell if the yellow/orange is worth more unbroken.

Guild Wars 2 most definitely isn’t Pay-2-win. It is, however, Pay-2-progress, which is even worse.

The simple problem is that the amount of cash-grabs in this game is beyond ridiculous and people don’t even realize it. Most people I know actually spend more on GW2 than a subscription-based MMO because of this.

-When Anet added the transmogrification system, they added transmogrification stones. This isn’t such an obvious cash-grab, seeing as how these stones can be earned in-game without spending money, but they are rare enough that they push you to buy them with gems.

-Nearly all armor skins/costumes are released through the gem-store. This one makes me angry, simply because it completely breaks all immersion. No, you don’t go on a quest to get awesome-looking armor, no you don’t slay any enemies…. you simply have to buy your armor on the gemstore because none gets released in-game.

-Achievement points were locked behind armor skins attainable only through Black Lion Chests, which you have to pay gems for.

-Previous LS content being locked and then sold back to you for gems. What.

-The drop rate for rare skins/good items in Black Lion Chests is utterly abysmal… therefore causing you to buy more in order to get what you want.

…and many more that I’ve forgotten over the past few years.

I absolutely love this game, but the amount of cash-grabs that have been added has made me quit multiple times. It’s definitely not Pay-2-win, but if you want to get that new armor skin, new weapon, new anything, it’s going to cost you gems….

And yet I’ve not spent any real cash on any of those things. I must have 170 Transmutation Charges, a whole bank inventory slot of Black Lion Chests, acquired dozens of Black Lion Chest Keys in-game, received all the Living Story Episodes at no cost whatsoever, more than 1000 armor skins (I only know this because I have the Achievement), etc.

Perhaps, it’s just a matter of playing the game more consistently. Or patience. I’m not sure.

Not sure if I’ve ‘won’, but I’ve certainly not paid.

Just thank god you werent here at the start we had 1-79 stones that you got in game if you wanted to change look on 80 gear it was gemstore only.

I thanked anet for making the new stones when they did.

Yeah your kitten rights i deviated from my wanting of having a healthy conversation, Every reply has been a kitten “lol noob” kind of statement, When in reality you all just cant seem to grasp the idea of what paying to win is. Its just not for pvp i will tell you that much. I grinded 5800 gold to end up instant buying an eternity, That took me about 2 months of nothing but farming. i couldve skipped that and went onto other things simply by buying it with my cash. That is the very definition of paying to win whether youl ike it or not. This thread was started to simply get your opinions yet when im seeing kitten like:

Every MMO that has gold-sellers is pay to win then too. lol

You can’t seriously be defending this crap.

there is nothing to win beside pvp where gold doesn’t help you

Like i said you all seem to think if you dont pvp you have no right to think about things.

This doesn’t affect SPvP at all

see above.

I wonder why you waste time with gaming at all
SImply don’t play MMO’s that costs neither money. nor time, a double win for you

Uh what?

what defines your strength is your level

So every 80 is at the same level in terms of stats… riiiiiiight.

Theres so much more BS in this thread too. I wasnt going to a prick i was really coming into this with a level head and curiosity, thats it. But to be told it doesn’t matter because pvp is a thing, kitten off. i don’t even consider the pvp in this game good (again my opinion). mmo pvp is not my thing, That’s why i own Overwatch and rust. Yet because of this i am not valid even though i provide more than substantial evidence and facts. a level one with every legendary is something that shouldn’t happen, ever. yet you all seem to be ok with this. and to be completely honest i am ok with it too thats the entire reason i had put the Slightly in the title. because as much as i think this way i can see how yes i can obtain it via other means. MMO’s however are a genre that is meant to take time, you aren’t supposed to be able to come into the game and have the most sought after tier of anything. another excuse i have seen is that ascended is the same in terms of power, that doesnt matter at all. legendaries are kittening expensive and should take a long time to obtain.

But spvp is the only place you can win over someone.
Since its a controlled 5v5 small map.

In pve all you are to everyone else is a random dude with a fancy sword, since you played for it then maybe you can use it effectivly.
But if you bought it with cash you may stumble in your rotations making the tiny power increase worthless.

WvWvW if they got more bodies then your server they will open a can of whop kitten on you.

So if you can use your sword effectively in pve your making everyone progress faster in fractal, dungeon, map meta or world boss, THEN EVERYONE IS WINNING.

Endless Black Lion Salvage Kit Pls Q Q

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Linken.6345

Linken.6345

I’ve been playing since day 1 and at the end of my first year I had *3 saved up* – and I only had that many because I never used them for fear of wasting them on the wrong thing. (Which I was worried about precisely because they’re rare.) They’re actually easier to get now than they were in the past, because you don’t have to complete daily achievements for a random chance at them, and they come from achievement chests too which weren’t in the game originally.

Ok first of all, thats a load of BS. My brother played since beta. He had so many BLSK’s saved up from doing dailies and w/e that he had 6 bank tabs full of BL Salvage kits in the first year or so, so you cant tell me that you only received 3 of them in 1 yr. He had so many BLSK’s that he used them on rares often. Anet had to change the acquisition % cuz people were getting too many. They used to be much easier to get than they are now.
Also, the “USE” of a endless BLSK wouldn’t cost 3 G per use just because you are taking into account the gold per gem cost to buy 1. I dought anet would make it that expensive and if they did, no 1 would use it. I can see a usage cost of 50 Silver though to be fair. But to buy a Endless BLSK I assume it would cost around 1000-2000 Gems, which would be understandable. I wouldn’t mind buying 1 even if it meant spending 1000 gems or more. Thats how much the endless harvest tools cost.

I already had a endless-copper-fed-omatic before I started this OP. Which is where I got the idea. They have copper, silver, but no gold. I would assume if they did make a gold it would be either exotic or ascended endless. The ascended salvage tools cost 1 g per use so if they made an exotic tool it should cost around 50 s.

Your forgetting to compare prices tho.

Infinite mining pick 1000 gems= 317g 3s 19c or 3173,19s orichalcum pick 100 4s

3173,19/4 is 793.2975

But then factor in that your replacing every other kit so should be like a full gemstor tools right?

793.2975×3 2379.8925

One black lion salvage kit is 300 gems 972.78 silver x 2379.8925 = 2315111.82615

So 231.511, 182615 gold lets round it down to 231.511 gold thats roughly 74.000 gems

Even if it was only 1 tool worth its 24.600 gems are you sir willing to pay either of that?

Linken.6345

I don’t get the complaint… You get them from daily log in & fractal rewards… Just do your daily fractals and you’ll get an extra 1~2 per week on average…

The reason they are so great and you get more ecto is because they are that rare… If they were endless it’d defeat the purpose of any other kit, crash the material market in a heartbeat, and to top it off be rather silly to have in the first place…

If you don’t want to do fractals then don’t complain about the lack of kits you get. I personally have 101 uses worth of kits and I use them rather liberally, I also almost always do my daily t4 fractals.

Another person who just thinks they know the situation and really doesn’t. You assumed I dont do fractals, or my daily log in but I do. I STILL have NOT gotten any BLSK from any fractals ever, also I cant do anything with AR yet either cuz I dont have Ascended Armor yet.

3 Months, log ins, and I started doing fractal daily’s around a month ago, and still haven’t received a single one. Which is why I’m asking anet to consider a ENDLESS BLACK LION SALVAGE KIT! The Original OP was for a ENDLESS BLACK LION SALVAGE KIT, not a remedy to get consumable ones or to be scolded, and given a lecture on gems, gold, and what I should do to obtain one.

I’m sorry for being a little pushy in my statement but I feel like I’m defending myself from people who have been playing for 3-4 yrs, have everything or working on it, and 10 bank tabs full of junk and are criticizing me on how to get where they are now.

Yes and 4 years from now you will still not be were they are since you use your black lion salvage kit on everything.

Right click sell on tp, is the weapon worth alot find out why and salvage accordingly.
I played from head start and got a bank tab of kits since I dont get anything to use them on.
Edit
Check gold to gem price on a infinite harvesting tool set all 3 cost if you convert to gold, then check what the highest silver bought set cost.

If you divide the big number with the low number, the number you then get is what you need to multiply the gem cost of a 25 salvage black lion kit, to see what anet would sell a infinite for.

And thats only if they dont put it behind a rng wall mate.

From brainstorming to testing and bug fixing, building everything for a new legendary weapon reasonably takes about a month, not including the art for the weapon. That’s about a week per themed collection and a week for the economics, recipes and other random tasks

From your own blogpost MB since all but the art take 1 month, how can 12 more legendary weapons take more then max 2 years?
When your team crank out blacklion sets quickly and it surely aint the artists doing the other work during the month right?

I think the real question is to know if, as player you would have preferred to have a new Legendary weapon, maybe 2, with last content update or if you prefer to have had a new map, and in the mean time these living world events (bandits, anomalies…).

Because the way it was presented was they made a trade-off between Legendary journeys and living world events. Of course as player, instant consumer of content, we demand both, but reason must sometimes win.
As for OP suggestion, I think the topic of legendary weapon has been too long debated between crafting and dropping precursors. Now it has been decided (I’d say tha majority of the community has) that one should earn precursor by himself and not simply buy it from TP. I’m sure that if they would have created this system since launch, all precursors would have been account bound since the beginning because that is what most players asked : a unique weapon that show your dedication to the game and all its activities rather than something you can get by using your credit card.
So in the end having unique awesome skins (chainwhip sword or stormbow) through gems and other through active gameplay (new Legendary) is a good middle option (I know nobody likes compromises) but now they should be careful not to release too much awesome gem skins in comparison to Legendary weapons….

Its quite simple pull devs working on second expansion and finish first + keep people intrested in game by live content updates while you slowly work on second expansion.

You dont do what they are now break promises give out content for maybe 1 month for the casual then they have to wait 1 to 1½ month for the next 1 month update.
All while the rest of the devs work on expac 2 at breakneck speeds

I just want the legendary weapons I kittening paid for. They still haven’t delivered what they sold with HoT.

If they released the new weapons as drops not collections I’d be fine with that.

This.

Whether I make one or not really isn’t the point. If a company tells you they are going to deliver something, they should deliver it.

Really? So Nevermore and Astralaria was in the game before HoT? Or they are not legendary weapons, since you see Anet haven’t released any with HoT, according to you. Yes, new legendary weapons are currently not worked on, but that does not mean that we wont see any in the future, yet. Also, as far as I remember from interviews and reviews pre-HoT, they never actually stated -how- many new legendary weapons will get released.

@OP: What old system? Having to wait for a lucky drop or to grind gold to buy the precursor from the TP? No, thanks. Its way better now, when you have to actually do content and work towards a guaranteed precursor in the end.

Arenet said they’d provide a full set of legendary weapons, that would come out at short intervals. Their words, not mine.

Then Mike O’Brien said that they would putting the legendary weapons on indefinite hold, which for most people would read cancelled. There is no longer a team working on the new legendaries are all, even the four have been delivered.

By my count that’s only 25% of the legendary weapons that were supposed to come with the expansion. If you wanted a legendary sword or great sword, you’re just out of luck I guess.

They dident say full set, they said 16 since they dont want to do any more underwater weapons

Returning Player, appreciate some guidance

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: Linken.6345

Linken.6345

Hey everyone, was hoping that some proper veterans would be able to give me some advice/guidance. Quick synopsis of my play, I preordered the game many moons ago and powered a Guardian to 80 in a month. I was in the Jesse Cox guild and had some good fun in WvW, but never tried dungeons or really anything else. Started leveling some alts then left for a while. I have come back to it a handful of times across the years, the most recent time was whenever the announcements for Heart of Thorns classes were dropping. So I’m back to get my MMO scratch once again.

As far as progression goes, my Guardian is 80 with a full set of Berserker exotics and I can remember spending quite a lot of time in the Silverwastes, though I’m only sitting on 90 gold. Otherwise, I have another toon at 66 and the rest are between 20 and 30. I’m not really sure what progression I’ve made on specialities like Ascended gear and other unique items, just that I have a char acting as extra bank storage who is stuffed with various boosts, dragonite ore and shards, and other random things. And that’s pretty much where I’m at, just trying to get back into the swing of things.

So a few questions that I had:

1. Is HoT worth the full purchase price? Ideally I can wait a bit to see if I’m going to stick to the game for a while, but since Living World Season 3 just dropped, and I don’t really want to have something to pay for later down the line when it’s free now, I’m thinking I need to make a choice a bit sooner. I already missed LW 1 & 2.

2. Is there anything in the cash shop that is really worth investing in? At this point all I’d really like are some character slots and maybe a few bank tabs.

3. Is the population still holding strong, particularly for WvW and doing events? A lot of my decision will be based on finding a good, semi-casual guild that I can fit into, since that tends to hold me to a game a lot more, but I also want to know if there’s enough pop to support it.

4. What are some good goals for me to start aiming for, aside from leveling alts and farming Silverwastes? This game has always been about setting goals, and I was never very good at that before, so I’d appreciate help on this one a lot.

And any other helpful tips and advice would also be appreciated. Really want GW2 to stick this time around, since no other MMO seems to exist that’s held my attention other than SWTOR, which has gone a bit to the dogs now. Plus, I beat a lot of the story and that’s about the only reason I was playing SWTOR.

Please and thanks for assistance!

Q1 No you dont need hot to get ls3 ep1, just login with any account and it will unlock it and save it for when you later down the line get hot.

Q2 no nothing in the cash shop is needed its convenience like those extra char slots bank tab you speak off. But also infinite gathring tools take 5-6 years to pay for themselfs gold vise, salvageomatics to have 1 slot instead of 3-5 taken by salvage kits, + now you also got the shared slots will get one with hot that the free level 80 boost is tucked into. ( so salvageomatics is even more worth it convenience wise Imo. )

Q3 Mega servers if you land on the poplulated shards make it easy to find people for pve and thats across all servers in Na or Eu, the server you chose only matters for wvw so after you find a guild for wvw check were they are and if your free move with buying hot can get you into that server would be a tip.

Q4 I cant really help you with I do what ever I feel like doing becouse its fun to me

This is how the copper/silver fed salvaging tools work, they just stay in a shared slot.
Would be a nice improvement if the gathering tools could also do this. Right click harvest with this tool maybe same as the right click / salvage function.

Would be even more clicks to do that on each vein, tree and bush etc.
Then the dubble click total of 6 times with multiple sets of copper tools on other chars

Linken.6345

After purchasing the Unbreakable Mining/Harvesting/Logging tool set I feel a bit ripped off. I was under the impression you could place them into a shared slot and they could be used infinitely for ALL characters on your account.

Instead the current mechanics force the player to equip them on ONE character.

Since most people in this game use multiply character (I personally have 13) you should be able to use this tools on all characters.

PLEASE: Create a way to place these tool in your shared slots and have them automatically be used without the need to be equipped.

It would be a simple change and would go far in improving the player experience.

Simply create a check which looks for the presence of an infinite tool in the player’s shared slot. If it finds the correct tool then it does not require that character to have a tool equipped when mining, logging, or harvesting.

Buy tools for all characters, copper ones are ok.
Dubble click infinite shared tools in shared slots when u log in and the copper ones when u log out.
Problem solved your welcome.

New playable race - good or bad idea?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

I think that we can expect Anet to put resources into an expansion, but it’s not about cost, it’s about cost vs benefit. Now, I do not know the statistics for GW2 but chances are that just like in other games the vast majority of characters created are human (and in GW2 that might include the norn as they visually are just oversized humans). So that makes creating a new race that not that many people will make use of a bad choice for putting your resources, particularly if the resource cost is high.

I personally doubt that enough people play non humans to make it worth the investment.

Well why should you play anything else then human when 90% of the armors are made for them then streched to kinda fit the other races.

Because I see plenty of them every single day in RL so they get boring no matter how well their clothes fit. For example.

Yea I agree with you this was jab at the devs taking the easy way out, in my oppinion the legendary precursor armor we seen are the human ones.
Were are the ones to fit charr, asura, norn and sylvari

Returning Player

Hello peeps! I am returning to GW2 after a really long break. ( Stopped playing a couple of months after release)
I did some research but i am really confused so i was hoping you could help.
Here are my questions:

1. Do i need to buy the new expansion in order to play? If not, will i miss anything important or is the lvling experience the same with or w/o the expansion?
2. How is necromancer atm in PvE and PvP?
3. How’s the population doing?
4. Would you recommend to return or should i avoid it?

Thanks for your time~

Heart of Thorns Expansion is NOT necessary, but I would highly recommend it.
You get lots of new content as well as the ability to glide which is paramount to exploration.

Currently they are in the processes of releasing Living World Season 3
So if you have not played LW Season 1 and 2 I would definitely consider starting there as it is one long enjoyable story.

Necro is good, actually one of the best classes in game atm. I have one of each and prefer the following in order.

Ranger, Elementalist, Necro, Mesmer

So its in my top 3.

Overall this is what I would do. Buy the expansion. Level your mastery level.
All the way the Ley Line Gliding. Then work on the new content.

That was helpful thanks! Your 4 classes are the ones i am trying out atm, but i am really having trouble deciding which one to play/ Which one has the most damage per skill? Trying out necro but it feels slow.

Of those 4 elementalist hands down but its not a easy class to play.
I would say ranger is the easiest of the 4 followed by necro then mesmer and hardest elementalist

SW corner of Lions Arch there is a NPC that gives a summary of season 1.

Maybe read the whole post watched the recap video

The recap showed what had happened, compressing a year into a couple of minutes is pretty much impossible to be anything but a quick summary. Youtube has other video if you really, really need to dig deep.

Yes I agree and that support the OP request to get a playable version of living world season 1 somehow.
Even if it have to be instance 5, 10, 15, 20 or 25 player content.

GW2 Sales 2Q16: a new All Time Low

This is what happens when you put a game out in such a competitive environment and then spend much development time from zing the mistakes you made in the game. Time needs to be invested in game development instead of fixing mistakes or canceling on promises. I believe that since gw2 has finally created a blueprint to their game, that these issue will greatly diminish. What they do need a blue print for now is on making single player content which can be recreate per new content that is dished out. Which means that now they need a blueprint for single player content. I believe the next expac will be way better than the first. Everyone learns from mistakes, and if they want to make it anywhere then they better right down all the rights and never repeat the wrongs.

But thats what they have been doing all along building fundations or blueprints as you say it…. then scraping said blueprint for a new shiny one, they are like skritts in that regard.

  • They are trying to shorten the time between expansions.

I don’t see how they can accomplish that unless they hire new employees (very unlikely) or they remove some workers from current projects to allocate them to the expansion development team.

They can just have to shift devs from live game to expansion team now its what 60 live 30 both and 60 expansion. Poof 25 live 5 both and 120 expansion.

Please open up a "complains" forum section.

Linken.6345

If there are so many complaints it’s because the balance team is both not improving the balance and they are reducing build variety instead of improving it.

If they would have listened to the community they would be getting praises instead of complaints.

They are listening, they are improving build diversity, man I’m tired of telling people this…. And no, people like you will always complain about the state of the game. It is inevitable.

Then how come my axe/axe warrior build ain’t viable yet after 4 years?

Becouse it have always been viable but the word your looking for is optimal mate.

Sugg: New game mode to kill waves of mobs

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Linken.6345

Yes something like this but it felt a bit to short

would be cool to see something like this in different forms
-endless mode : lets see how far you and your group get and how many waves you can defeat
-last man standing : defeating wave after wave as a team is cool, but winning when you are the sole survivor is even cooler

Yea I was thinking of Last stand mode in dawn of war 2

A bit confused about HoT expansion upgrade

@OP you can wait for another 3 years, and get HoT for free when they launch a new expansion (if there is any).

Well, not for free. He’d need to actually buy that next expac in order to get HoT.

Well it kinda is right, since OP is now complaining that people get base game for free.
So hot will be free in their mind.

Too many one shot kills in dungeons

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Linken.6345

The blow is not telegraphed, or if it is, the party stacked on the mob is making it impossible to see it. Calling it a L2P issue is incorrect when theres no way to counter it. Learn to do what exactly? Not be in the same room? Order an airstrike while still at the barracks?

Also, the level numbers don’t seem to matter. Level 50 and 60 characters dying over and over in a level 35 dungeon for instance. I get that it scales characters to a specific level depending on dungeon, but being higher level eliminates the “you need to be this big to ride this ride” excuse. In a game that does a lot of things right, it sure got the recovery character part wrong. No need to recover if you have full HP one instant, and dead the next. It takes utility out of the game and makes people spec for damage only.

Still not giving any info on class or what skills/bosses specificaly.

You do know that you need to keep gear updated right?
a lvl 50, 60 or 70 in 35-50, 60 70 green/blue gear is worse then a 35 decked in full 35 gear.
If you stay far enough ranged her cone web attack wont immobilize you.

Edit
Since you speak of lvl 35 are we talking spider queen? big red aoe on ground stay out of them.
Kholer his hand start to glow and he stand still dont auto attack anymore then do a 360 scorpion vire pull after that spins and kill you.

That scorpon vire can be reflected and he wont spin or dodged or use ranger pet to eat the vire for you.

Are we talking end bosses and trap rooms aswell?

Bloodstone Crazed Creatures Event

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Linken.6345

I feel like levvi’s device is useless. Double click it, says this event is up, go to all the maps and ask if its up, finally find the correct one and its dead already.

They should make the bosses spawn a lot more frequently, give them more health, or better make them invulnerable for a few minutes like in wvw so people have time to actually get to them, and here’s an idea, how about instead of guessing what map they are on just put them on one map everytime, or put them on all the maps they spawn on so it takes the guess work out of it. Nothing like waiting for hours and being on the wrong map.

You do know they can spawn on more then one map right, just kill normal mobs of the moa, devourer, shark, bearhound or wyvern what ever is on the device atm.

Edit.
The one that took longest for me was the shark only becouse its hard to find alot of sharks to kill. swam around killing 3 dif ones in bloodtide coast.

Current Events always fail

This is actually a common event since interest has moved on. I know, I know. The events aren’t dead. Just find a full map with LFG. Yeah . . . that kind of says the events are dead, but we’ve already beaten that dead horse to a pulp.

No, Nekretaal, you’re not doing it wrong. You are in fact very much aware of the problem. Sadly, yes, the events need better scaling since the majority has moved on. Might be best to ask for help from guildmates or strangers. Otherwise, you’ll need to get real good at soloing.

Sorry the outlook isn’t better, but you’ve identified the issue correctly.

In this instance you are correct mate.
But when trying the same logic to a event that spawn total 6 times a day and are done the majority of those 6 times, on some shards its not a dead event as you stated in TT thread

Edit.
Since you dont know when these events spawn and cant coordiante for it in advance + that they fail quick make them a hot mess.

No you dont get more exp and better items in a party.

Map shards are just that shards of maps that any server can access.

Unsure what you mean with private servers, we dont have any of those.
