Then why even make the post if you do not intend to receive anything? You must want something or you would not make a post, would you?

I’m not sure why you’re being so hostile towards OP. I didn’t see anything in the original post that made it seem like OP was whining, let alone trying to get something from someone. It just seemed like a “Don’t do what I did because you won’t be able to undo it” post.

Well posting it as problem and saying in the middle

I have sent out tickets before but I haven’t posted on the forums. I doubt anything could be changed with the exception of an account rollback

Sounds like s/he want the char back, but dont know what a account rollback would do + that it only offred once if you been hacked

And this wont help much becouse either 1 then person have already done the same thing or 2 the topic will get burried in page 2, 3 , 4 etc within afew days.

Except it has been done, Granted this was awhile ago, but i am pretty sure we have gotten some serious buffing since then..

Yea you did it the hard way aswell would have just whiped out my greatsword.

Now since that challenge have been completed and raids are so easy go do the same with 10 bear bow/gs people

Edit.
Not saying it can be done but people seem to think that dungeons are as hard to get into as raids, since alot of the story/ez mode raid threads devolve into people saying -why arent people complaining about doing dungeon for their stories.

Big hint they dont have to since everyone and their mother can complete it when there are no enrage timers.

Difference is, you could do your own lfg in dungeons with no such restrictions, it would fill relatively fast, and you’d still succeed. Raids on the other hand pretty much force you into this kind of behaviour if you want a reasonable chance of succeeding.

Still not sure though if what you pointed out is what OP had problems with.

Don’t know what you are talking about, I’ve organized my own raids and won several times. Better yet, join a raid learning guild and learn with them. I did, and we’ve won as a group several times as well.

Sure I’ll come with my bearbow/gs ranger that I done all the dungeons on with no problem…. Ofcourse you will let me into your raid group without changing anything right?

How do the people that are ‘missing out on the story’ feel about dungeons? While dungeons are easier to complete, they provide barriers that are similar to those encountered when raiding. A single dungeon provides more story than all of the raid wings combined do. I suppose this isn’t a problem because you can get all the dungeon rewards by playing pvp.

I don’t think any of this is accurate information. The raid contains more information than the dungeons, And there really aren’t any barriers to entry, you can throw out an LFG, need half as many people to join you, they can be any class they want, not know the content at all, and you’ll still do just fine.

I hadn’t done much dungeoning lately because I’d burned out on them years ago, but when they added daily raids I’ve started doing a few of those. When CM was the dungeon of the day a month or so back, I queued up for path 1 with four other people who’d never done it before, and I totally forgot how to do it, and we still managed it in less than a half hour with only one wipe and a few downs. If you can manage the same with Vale Guardian then I’ll concede the point. To sum up, the challenge is:

  • Clear Vale Guardian
  • Using a completely random LFG party
  • NONE of whom have any experience with the encounter
  • with absolutely no gearchecks or class-checks, come as you are
  • half hour total time limit, one wipe allowed.

Let’s see how you do. This is open to anyone, btw.

-I’d say each separate dungeon path has as much story as 1 raid wing.
-The barriers are similar, especially if you want to have a successful and pleasant run: you need to form a group; you need 1 assertive person that somewhat knows what’s going on and isn’t afraid to give directions; people need to be able to communicate and listen. I’d like to see a group of random noobs do ‘just fine’ in arah exp without any directions or a veteran soloing while they’re kittening around.
- Obviously there are some stricter requirements for raids compared to dungeons, some roles need to be covered but it isn’t nearly as strict as you make it out to be.
- The people that pug cleared wing 1 when it was first released did it exactly as you described, although some build/comp adjustments may have been needed.

FYI: When I’m talking about dungeons, I’m mainly referring to the harder ones (arah) and not just AC explorable.

Sure Arah is abit harder dungeon then most of the others but any group comp can complete it.
You yourself stated now any group comp cant complete the raids so how are you able to draw a comparison bettwen the 2?

Tri wurm is probabely the only core gw2 fight that come even close and thats a hot mess for random pugs aswell

well since we dont have only zerker or gtfo partys anymore in dungeons there are all welcome (any class combination can complete them), I would think anyone would be able to see those stories.

Cant remember any dungeon I wouldent be able to complete with a full ranger bearbow party.

Solution is way more simpler than what was proposed above. Simply remove the time-gates and add tier loot based upon the time the raid takes down the boss.

Simple. Elegant. I like it.

Doesn’t work because there’s no value to the “limit” placed unless you get absolutely nothing after a certain time and if that’s the case then you’re back at square one. So either the lazy gain rewards or the elite overprofit. This model hasn’t worked well in other games either.

No reason at all that they should get nothing after a certain time mate.
If they get 1/5 or 1/10 of the full reward, why do you care if you can get the full reward?

There is no half way to meet at.

So, if no compromise is possible, you are saying that people should argue to stop further Raid development and nerf current raids, instead of trying to find a solution that would leave Raiders with their content?

In case you missed it, that is exactly what some non-raiders on this forum want. They resent the fact that this content exists and that it wasn’t developed to their tastes. They want it gone.

Don’t try to make it seem like it’s the other side being unreasonable here. ANet introduced raids. Some players like them. Those players don’t need to “compromise” with anyone.

You go ahead and tell ANet what you want. So will the rest of us.

Can you link some threads were that is said?

I seen alot of people want a easier version with same rewards but taking longer time to aquire.
Say you cant get em as drops for example, but need to buy them for the raid currency that you get 25% of what normal raids give each week.

I am a non-raider yet I feel like “yelling at you”: getting good and remaining exclusive is not a toxic attitude as long as what raiders can get is not superior to what casuals non-raider can obtain by playing at their pace while not feeling forced into raiding. As for the lore, it has been pointed out a gazillion time that it consists of notes that people read on the ground easily accessible with a cleared instance…….And honestly I really don’t need to go into raiding instances to understand that white mantle might get involved and that ley-line energy is getting out of control with the added events that take place in core tyria. I personally don’t want a core-tyria experience of what raiders have I would rather have LS3. At some point you need to realize that raiding was advertised as hot content as it was also advertised that hot would bring challenging content. Nerfing them while still providing easy core-tyria content is a waste of resources and time. Let the people that like raids enjoy the current difficulty of all the raid wings as it stands now for a great replay-ability of what they enjoy….Edit: the old raids will always be relevant to them because they are well designed

Ok since none raiders can get the same stat switching armor somewere else at their own pace please point it out to me.

Superior can be higher stats true but it can also be a totaly new mechanic to it like for example legendary stat switching.

It is true that you can’t but afaik, raiders can’t even start crafting their amor also. And no stat-switching is not superior because in GW 2, whether I am wearing condie gear or zerker gear I can participate in any given content content that take place in tyria and in the maguma jungle. The game also not requires you to switch stats on a frequent basis. Let me also add they you can certainly switch stats but you can’t switch runes. And if legendary was so legendary then everyone would already have a legendary weapon, which is certainly not true. There is no gear treadmill in the game simply because unlike other mmos you don’t have to grind to be relevant, just like you don’t need to grind the latest viper stats to feel relevant, whether you do dungeons, fractals or open world. Heck on my condi gear I don’t even own sinister stats. In fact the only real place where stat-switching might be relevant is raids, as for pve. Oh the irony

Oh how would that work for the raiders since they cant switch runes?

I think its more for the open world pvers that might want to Wvw abit and switch stats for that.
Or maybe they want to run fractals but need to be abit tankier for it, not the mini/maxing raiders

Your gold gets automatically deposited in the bank. No need to deposit. I actually use less gold now since it is all together. Much easier to keep track of how much I now have.

I think he’s thinking like an IRA or savings bonds or something. Saving for a rainy day (i.e. keep him from spending it without thinking).

Exactly, if it’s in my bank I feel I can keep it saved better. I was thinking about investing in an item to buy in bulk, but the 250 limit makes it a space waste. Also the market is way to emotional to have it be a safe investment.

You can already do this put in a buy order on trading post for eternity 500-800 gold or sum.
It will be stored there and if someone sells you the legendary for that win for you.

Legendary weapons

It’s not even legendaries. They got away with murder this xpac.

Here you have an xpac priced at $60, the same of the base game.

But only with 4 maps, instead of the 23 in the base game. 3 raids, but NO dungeons. 1 “soon” to be released fractal.

3 armorsets instead of the 20+ of the base game, same with weapons, only a fraction.

Like, HoT isn’t even 1/5 of the content and rewards the base GW2 was, which cost the same $60.

All in-game rewards from vanilla release changed models into RNG extremely rare drops and immense gold grinds, with most new armor/weaponsets now on gemstore.

Dungeon token system completely gone in terms of acquisition models.

They reneged on everything in their manifesto and turned into your average F2P game where everything is tied to a gold economy and cash grabs driven by huge gold and RNG gates to acquire items to encourage people to buy gems and convert to gold if they don’t want to spend half a year to acquire enough gold to get a legendary weapon.

Look at precursor hunts, it’s a farce. People wanted a scavenger hunt so they wouldn’t have to pay a fortune for precursors, and instead they did a scavenger hunt that ends up being more expensive than the vanilla precursors themselves on TP.

And here I thought people wanted scavanger hunts for the easy way to work towards a specific precursor without having to pray to rng jesus

So, how do the 90% or so of players who don’t raid, get legendary armor?

Better question, why would the 100% of people who don’t raid want it?

Yes becouse it can totaly not be used anywere else then in said raid right? hear that anet lock the legendary stat swapping and skins inside raids it wont be able to be shown or used outside of it.

The question isn’t if it CAN be used outside raids. The question is why would anyone want to? The arguments here are exactly the same as legendary weapons. The ONLY reason to use a Legendary weapon vs. it’s Ascended cousin is the skin because stat swapping is of highly questionable value outside of raids for an extremely high increase in cost relative to Ascended.

So unless the skin absolutely blows you away with how amazing it is compared to the dozens of armor skin choices that already exist, my question stands …

So, how do the 90% or so of players who don’t raid, get legendary armor?

Better question, why would the 100% of people who don’t raid want it?

Yes, that’s a good question. Why do they want it, and why can’t they get it?

Um, they CAN absolutely get it, they just choose not to. Everyone has equal access to raids. We have already dismissed this absolutely ridiculous argument that people who want Legendary Armor should be able to get it outside of raiding because they aren’t willing to do the raid. That’s just … crap.

Who would use the stat swap mechanic on armor?
The casual players ofcourse becouse they dont care that ooooh its not optimal since I cant switch runes.
And thats the total opposite to the people who do raid aint it?
You have to have this armor with these runes, run this rotation and have this specific build or we wont run with you.

So again who would benefit more from legendary armor? Keep the kitten ed skin and let me get the rest on a invisible item for all I care

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Linken.6345

If you had hard and easy mode with same/similar rewards, a lot of the current players that raid will just opt for the easy one because even though they can do the challenge of the hard raid, there’s no point to, for them.

That is why you make sure hard mode rewards significantly better than easier mode.

For most, this has is about the experience, not the elite rewards. Of course more effort should equal greater reward.

If they did this, I could potentially see myself doing both each week. At least once with the team I am raiding with now and at least once with my friends who aren’t interested in the current difficulty.

Sad to say you would probabely be in the minority since if done hard mode you would most likely not get the reward for the easy one or other way around if done easy first tough luck on your hard mode rewards.

The only glass condi set used to be rampager’s which was secondary. Now there’s sinister and viper’s which technically hybridize. The only thing pure power had over zerk/condis was the ability to damage objects, but if the new fractal changes are indicative that’ll be phased out. And now that there are things only damageable by condis (VG), realistically power and condi should be comparable before auxiliary stats. There has to be a reason beyond “because I like power” to run soldier’s over dire.

Yes and there is I just want to hit things and see big numbers not have to micro manage what skills to use to dot the target consistently.

Yes, removing core parts of an expansion decreases the playable time of that expansion. That doesn’t mean that the expansion was only half of an expansion.

They said when they sold it to us that it was content light because they spent most of their work developing new systems. If you didn’t like that part and the pricing of it you shouldn’t have bought it.

The people playing WvW do so for the fun, notice they are not whining like purulent children that they need Legendary Armor locked behind their Content Mode to satisfy their feelings of adequacy. So, lets leave them out of this discussion. Thanks.

This is definately not an attack good sir but let’s go over what you’re saying here. I wouldn’t say “whining” but there has been a massive uproar in WvW resulting in major near-fixes with the eventual replacement of Alpine BGs.

Second, no one here is saying legendary armor needs to be limited TO raiding. I think a healthy alternative would be the addition of multiple sets of legendary armor specific to certain game-modes, but we see how the legendary developer team is doing. There needs to be some sort of high-class exclusive reward in what Anet states is the most difficult PvE content in this game. This is not going to change amigo. I think the best route is to eventually make Legendary Armor obtainable through multiple routes of gameplay.

You mean like the tri wurm the privously hardest content due to high coordination.

It drop mini and dif skinned ascended armor all that you already got right?

Do you think Raids in GW2 were a bad idea?

Because “service” and “favor” are not synonyms.

the action of helping or doing work for someone.
“millions are involved in voluntary service”
synonyms: favor, kindness, good turn, helping hand

Quote of the day!

I can’t even. I don’t care how you define “service” or “favor.” No, really, I don’t. I’ll listen to the good old book called the dictionary. Generally, when receiving favors, it is usually done to get something back… You mow your dad’s lawn (a favor) without him asking to lessen the impending doom of that F you received etc etc. You can mow it for no reason as well. A favor is not limited by this. It is pointless arguing this. You can service someone’s vehicle without payment. This is still a service and it is still a favor. I was simply trying to stop you where you were going off about how people who sell runs are exploiting. If you want to continue this favor/service thing…I suggest you find a source claiming that favors can not include rewards and services must include them.

People who offer to sell raid slots aren’t doing favors, they are exploiting people’s weakness, while fighting to maintain the system in which that exploitation has a place. There is NO justifying it from a moral standpoint.

If you ask a mechanic to fix your car and he does so for free, then that’s a favor. If he asks for money, then he’s providing a service, not a favor.

I’m not saying that providing services is automatically a bad thing, but it is not a favor.

There you go, you contradicted yourself to push your own agenda by proposing an alternative to “not raiding” is immoral… That is… Unless car mechanics are exploiters?

LOL, so, “not being complete accurate” is how you describe posts that are totally contradicting each other. Cute.

Two posts… by two different people… in different context. Valid argument. I don’t even agree with what “The one to Rule.2593” is saying. I’ve made like 100g full-clearing both wings this week and last. Non-raiders also advocate that they don’t want an easy-mode raid for the rewards, yet here we are… discussing rewards. Notice how this entire thread consists of dozens of opinions, including mine. Opinions….Opinions…Opinions… Onions… Opinions…

Yes its exploiting since they are activily combating a way for the guy to do it him self in a easier mode.

I have now question that you will still have people that have more money/gold then time and will still pay to get the hard modes done since they want their reward faster.

Please link were non raiders said it wasent for the rewards, all I seen are we want easier but take longer time to get same reward as the hard raiders.

A dev stated that we will get viper jewelery in ls3 when ever that hits so all thats left is the legendary armor pre, Keep the unique skins as hard mode raid reward give the functionality in easy mode or some other content if they can manage that.

Edit
They already started on creating or said so blank weapon legendaries so you could have two of the same, even tho there already were 1 of each first gen legendary.

So maybe that tech can be turned over on armor aswell
