You dont have to do 8 dif paths a day mate.
You can do one unique path every day for 8 days and get the 5g and 150 tokens btw

Thats actually to your benefit. You have weapons that are good in both melee and mid range. Be happy. About staying at range, as I said its absolutely possible in most situations. Its up to you and your team to discuss if you want to use this strategy.
Also, not only mesmer and druid can tank and heal…

Didnt you read me? Ranger dont have good melee weapons.
IF we had, than stacking in melee would made some sence, at least, now there is none.

Not to mention in many fights you are punished for not stacking at boss in melee range. All those strategies for dungeon bosses who do strong attacks if someone is at range (and solution that make fight trivial – is all stack melee), all those fractal fights like Mai trin etc etc etc.

Name any fight where staying all-ranged will make fight faster and easier that all-melee stack?

Deimos is easier if dps is ranged but probabely not faster.

Bloomhungerer is easier if you dont stack and use range as pug group aswell.

It cant be faster since you trade damage for safety with range as the people in this thread have explained over and over

Or read my post above with example how i did Vale Guardian without pressing heal once.
Not dodged once (didnt need with 2 druids).

Or same fight with VG when i tried stay in range and was constantly hit by un-dodgable damage all time and many dodge-able AOE’s.

And why did you get hit by undodgable damage and aoes? Simple really your team and you failed to do mechanics like green circles and ccing the boss.

You dident have to worry about blue melee teleport mechanic on top of all the other things you got hit by that your team mates probabely avoided due to blocking/buffing and healing eachother.

Have you thought about what would happen if the two druids just took we heal as one and sword torch?

Thats basicly the same you are doing by going ranged and not being with the group.

Or that all high level group content REQUIRE stacking. You can avoid stack of cause, but you will just make fights harder (i.e. no choice but to stack unless you are masochist).

It’s wrong to say Ranger are suboptimal when ranged.

An LB Ranger will have a pet that gains melee buffs and can buff in turn, will stack invulnerability and heal peeps around the target. The latter two mean that ranged Ranger will do less damage than buffed melee group members for balance reasons. But this is only suboptimal if your only yardstick is damage delivered by a player.

Another utility in LB Ranger in a group is that they or their pet can quickly revive downed players if the group is smart enough to move the target when this happens.

Also note that a key feature of LB Ranger is the ability to damage all foes in the line of sight of the arrows – as such the Ranger has to continuously move at ranged to max their damage – which few do ofc No minor ability in Pvp/WvW but usually pointless in boss fights.

In addition many bosses have weak dps but strong buffing adds that sit at a distance, Ranger is the ideal profession to deal with these – ofc many Rangers don’t.

In contrast, Ranger as melee – currently – is quite weak even when buffed etc. The Ranger profession – even as Druid! – is inherently optimal at ranged.

It’s sad that so many berate the Ranger players for not fighting melee – which makes the profession quite pointless for the Ranger player. Ranger is actually a very good group profession and I suspect the real problem is other players poor mindset and the fact that a weak ranger player’s failings tend to be more obvious to other players.

It’s certainly at very fun profession to play and others players need to loosen up a bit and not be so dogmatic whilst ranger players learn their craft!

Ofc it doesn’t help one bit that the game has no build template system, but there you go.

All that you stated here can be done by a ranger useing melee weapons or range weapon in melee range aswell.

Want to target the add that buff boss do so and have your arrows hit the boss you melee and the buffer by positioning yourself right.

Want to rez downed player use your search and rescue in melee since that will pop the player to you its better for the group if you are in melee range so all 4-5 depending on raid or 5 man instance can rez aswell.

The buffing in your first paragraf is true but if your melee too it will heal you and buff you aswell.

In general as many have said the community is overall friendly, pleasant, welcoming, patient and polite, especially in open world pve.

However you are likely to run into the odd sad kitten, usually in instanced pve (fractals/raids) or pvp – I’ve been sent horrible messages in the vein of cyber bullying, by elitists who think their apparent prowess at a game allows them to demean others. I could understand if it was ranked/tournament pvp for example, but people being rude in hotjoin/unranked makes no sense to me.

Fortunately the block feature exists so it’s easy to not have to suffer further insult after the initial offence.

In wvw at least you don’t see enemy chat so the most abuse you could get is jumping on your corpse or tossing siege on it – easy to ignore.

Not really true they can block you to get account name and then whisper you in wvw.

You don’t seem to understand the syntax of what you said. When you say “destroyed the dungeon community” you are placing blame on Anet, not stating the dungeon community moved on of its own will and volition, which is what happened.

no offense, but are you new? Dungeons died out because 1. Anet killed the gold you could get from a dungeon (IIRC they at least slashed it in half… maybe worse). and 2. they took their dungeon team, said “we’re not doing dungeons anymore” and put em on fractals. this was when the fractals were greatly expanded (from 50 to 100) and enhanced (no more randoms. better dailies, better loot).

so yeah. no matter how you try to slice it and no matter what wordplay you try to employ… Anet killed dungeons.

The dungeon team was disbanded years before there even were a fractal team.
And sure they cut down the gold but then reinstanted the loot with more tokens for each path once each day and 5 gold + choice of 150 tokens for each dif 8 paths you do.

You can continue to do 8 number of those paths for the 5gold 150 tokens how ever many times you want a day.

So yes the raw coin for each dungeon path is less but if you do 8 diffrent ones you gain about the same when you count in the extra tokens and gold for paths/chest.

I said the same thing sort of.

Got accused of just not wanting to do the “content”. Well yes actually…

To manually farm everything for a legendary would take an investment of time few of us could realistically afford. So, legendary weapons serve one purpose: to make money for the game creators. Which is, ultimately, just fine. I have no issue with Anet employees putting food on the table. But, at that point, it’s no longer about content, is it?

I was originally drawn to this game because I grew weary of grinding and farming. Well, GW2 is becoming the same animal.

same here too but sadly after playing guild wars and then this since it came out till now. sigh this gave me another add reason to not buy the new pack at all . as I believe the changes I seen in the game its self as well as game play and time gating legendary crafting and the cost to get legendary stuff from vendors .

yeah I still will play the game I got but yes GW2 is becoming the same animal very much .

I am a vet player myself been playing since guild wars myself came out wiped my account x5 even and redid it all over again till the beta of guild wars 2 came out .

the way I see it the game owes you noting at all it sure owes me noting at all . what the game did owe you got out of playing the game for this long with many updates and few other things and some events having said that

I already put my order in for Path of Fire of the ultimate edition with the gems to boot . to me that is the whole perk in its self and I do not need to come to the forums crying me a river oh I am a VET their for I get perks for every new thing that comes out as well as perks for new packs that come out too . when you do that you only make us and the game and company super bad . and that needs to stop now like I said the game owes me noting and sure does not owe you any thing at all so stop crying

Why? And they still are doing their damage over time.

If someone lands 3-4 strong abilities on your be it power or condi you should take significant damage in a timely manner. i.e eating a 10~15K spike from power or eating a spike from condi and ticking down 2~3k for the next 6 seconds.

There has to be a universal armor against condition damage. One type of damage shouldn’t have a means of mitigation while another doesn’t. Imagine if the armor stat didn’t exist and all direct damage inflicted their full amounts. That’s what conditions do unless you’re on of the few classes who have traits that reduce condi damage.

You mitigate power damage and their are a few sources of negation. You negate condi damage and there are a few sources of mitigation. The last 2 sentences are an awful analogy that completely disregards duration and cleanses.

Condition-damage should reward you with decent and consistent damage not high damage, consistency is the keyword here.

Your example of how condi damage should be IS how it actually is. The only difference is that a well built condi build with condis on crit would gain an extra stack every now and then giving them a small burst in damage, similar to a Power build.

If a power build did consistantly 3k damage then they would likely see some 5-10k bursts depending on their active bonuses. Fairly consistent with some serious bursts. This is how power has always been and always will be. Plain and simple.

For a condi build to do consistently that much damage they generally have to have 5-10 stacks of any given condition or more depending on their Condi Damage. Most abilities that apply conditions apply less than 5 at a time and have durations shorter than their cooldowns. This results in quite a bit of inconsistency in stack rates on conditions. Burning the strongest Condition in the game requires 5 stacks at over 2k Condition damage in order to deal over 2k DPS, Poison, the second strongest requires 14 stacks at the same value. Burning condition rarely lasts more than 3 seconds without expertise, so getting consistently over 2k DPS with burning is unlikely (not impossible, just unlikely) from a single player. Getting other conditions up over 14 stacks is a challenge as well. Typically a single condi build will reach 1.5k DPS with high Condi damage before their stacks start falling off.

So a strong condi build does about half of the sustained DPS as a strong power build… looking at those values you’d think Power would still be meta… the only reason this isn’t true is because power has to deal with damage mitigation. Of course, the game actually does a lot of the calculation work for us on this given that a level based armor value is already accounted for in the tool-tip damage on abilities. The only things you have to worry too much about are extra sources of mitigation and players with high Toughness pushing their armor value far beyond the level based value. If your tool-tips say your dealing 3k per hit, you’re going to deal 3k per hit to most targets.

The other reason why Condi is meta instead of Power is due to stacking efficiency and of course the inefficiency of Condi Cleanses… multiple Condi builds together quickly out damage the same number of Power builds together due to conditions being unmitigated damage. And burning a condi cleanse only gives a moments reprieve, unlike any number of options against power.

If condi damage were to be affected by armor, then condi damage would have to be buffed as well, which would undoubtedly result in a massive kitten storm on the forums. However, the various counters to direct damage should affect condi damage as well. For example, retaliation should proc from condition damage, Invulnerability should pause existing condition damage, Protection should reduce incoming condition damage. Regeneration should stack in intensity… and condition cleanses should be more easily accessed… (Arena Net, that means reversing the nerfs you applied to many trait based condi cleanses recently)

Well just merge resistance and invulnarbility and you got eactly what you ask for and then condi cleanses have to work against power damage aswell right? ( 100 blade well I just condi clense and give me back my health please.)

Start by asking ANet support. I doubt they will choose to make that happen, but if they do, it would be a lot faster than waiting for a major mechanic change.

The problem is: the reason for binding gear is to sink materials and gold from the economy. Allowing people to unbind would defeat that purpose and create an entirely new market, in which people would sell stuff that had been bound.

In other words, hard to imagine ANet would think this is good for the game.

ikr, but if the item to undo / reverse the “account bound on use” item is expensive (example 8000gems or 16000gems) people will thinking to spend gem on it right? Only people who Really Really Really Need those wil buy it (i guess). Or Anet can make it available only in certain period of time. (the item must only available for Account bound on Use. Not Account Bound when Acquire.) Atleast there is possible way to resolve the issue or probably someone who “accidentally double click the item to be account bound without their intention”

1600 gems is currently about 440 gold, that’s a lot less than most precursors, never mind any legendary.

If you accidentally bind and ask support for help, they can often help out — that’s not the issue in the OP. In that case, the OP wants to move an item from one account to another; that’s an entirely different situation.

You missed a 0 in your calculation so it would be 2200-4400 gold.

Okay, why do you keep creating new tickets every couple of days? How many times do you need to be told that that’s only going to slow things down?

Also, please correct the thread title. It’s “My account got stolen”, not “My account get stoled”. (And it has not been stolen to begin with, as people already explained what might have happened.)

I just sent 3 tickets where 2 of them get closed, the last seems still open.
by the way, i know i have a bad eng. i’ll fix the title if is possible.

Yes 2 get closed becouse they are about the same issue the last one so they are not needed. ( stop making tickets about the same thing)

One perfect example is the special action key. Take the new open world map that has really cool and interesting lore tidbits related to the gods when using the special action key. In combat it helps allies certain ways, and hurts enemies. I find it interesting and exciting to pair it up with other people in a larger meta event.

Where did this tech come from? Raids.

I love the special action key as a tool for design. It gives us a lot more freedom and it can give every fractal a unique “feel”. I find myself wishing I had nova launch in other content.

While there are always going to be folks who don’t like content that requires anything more than the minimal amount of focus, you cannot continually design that type of content indefinitely. It is limiting in terms of content design (as a software developer in a different industry, this applies as well).

Think of all the amazing pieces we may not have had if nobody had thought “Hmmmm, we need another button to break out of eggs at Gorseval, or to throw the bomb at Sabetha?”

Another great example…player resetable checkpoint system inside of a JP without needing to die.

Whatever I don’t care for the special action key it does not help with how i play on my track ball or keyboard its more of a pain then anything and i cant hit the special action key fast enough so no its not good for most players i hear them complain all the time and more of my friends that i have played with for 15 years or more are leaving because of these changes so i am being forced to play with pugs which is challenging and i don’t like it they have changed the Mechanics to the game and its most of it is not natural game play they keep pushing for something that most of us cant do

Commander Tag and mentor tags are noting more than a gold sink. and a joke to boot and the op is asking for and suggesting only makes it a more bigger gold sink and joke

this is why I always block all Commander and mentor tags in the game . as they do noting but spam map chats where their is not any events going on

and at events they do noting at all but spam map chats and run all over the map with their gold sink Commander mentor Tag

Yea you ranger/druid should count yourself lucky just check how many raid/fractal spots revenant or its elite spec have for example.

And Necro sure is good to survive fractals with pugs but no speed clear there either and not so many raid spots aswell.

Yes wvw and spvp need 3 people on the same server that do the objective in full.

So no people cant for example escort 1 doly out of 3 and get rewards on other servers.

As long as they never bring back our ball caps or the witch hat from S1 Mad King, I don’t really have an issue with the new people getting S1 stuff. It was disappointing to see them running around with shatterer wings and hopefully they’ll leave sunless alone as well. But if not its ok. Just leave the ball caps out of it if nothing else. New people don’t deserve those and yes I said deserve. If you weren’t there first week of release (regardless of reason) then you don’t deserve them

what about the people who were there but dident keep the cap for 3 years untill the wardrobe hit?

Only way to get sprocket is the gem store, but many of the individual items are on the TP right now as well.

You see Vayne, this is another example of why I have a problem with this system. ElectricGoat wants an item, and if those items where available in game he could now be doing dungeons, fractals and so on… the content that did reward that type of items he is after.

And when he was after the next items, there would be other dungeons or content rewarding it that he would go after.

But instead the only approach he has is grinding gold (what tends to burn people out) or buy it. MMO’s are for a big part reward driven games, if you then sell those items or put them behind a boring currency-grind that is negative.

Anyway, I just notice your reaction on this great example, and because we talked about this so many times I wanted to point this example out to you.

Yea but I belive alot of players want to have token system like the gears.
Just see how many threads there have been about egg sacks, invisble shoes, teqatil weapons etc.

Doing teq for example 250 times and getting 3 of the 16/19 if they have under water skins is just not fun in the long run.

Still saving up my Teq tail fragments and hope they will put in a trader for boxes.

Token system is still grinding a currency. Not that I think tokens are bad by definition, but should not be there to get the more desirable items. They should be more of the thing you get on the side so you also get some ensured progression when doing content multiple times.

So this is how I would implement it, with a dungeon as example. Have a dungeon-armor-set (like in GW2) that you can earn with tokens. But this should not be some very special looking set many people want to have for sure. It should be a ‘nice to have’. This ensures you have some reward progression while doing a dungeon multiple times.
Also put in a specific reward for completing the dungeon. So everybody who completes that dungeon gets that reward.

In addition you can add in some achievement-rewards as well. The Twilight Arbor Aetherpath is a perfect example of this one. That has a list of achievements that will unlock a mini.

And lastly have a boss drop a specific item with RNG. The Decorative Molten Jetpack was a great example of this when it still dropped in the Molten Facility dungeon (With the only big problem, that is was temporary). This should be the most desirable item.
How rare / hard to get this is, can still be controlled by the developers based on the drop-rate. For example 1/50 or 1/100 or 1/500 or 1/1000. You get the point. This approach over the token approach means that instead of looking at some number slowly going up and exactly knowing how many more runs you have to do to get the item, now every time you kill the boss there is the rush of ‘will it drop this time?’. Many people have got a negative idea with RNG loot, but that has mostly to do with the implementation of it. Some people believe in bad luck and while obviously you can have bad luck, when it has a drop-rate of 1/100 it’s very unlikely you have to do it 250 times before you get it.

You come with the Teq example what does use a drop-rate for specific items. The big issue here is that GW2 has already a system where people grind currency to get items. World-bosses like Teq are one of those things people grind. Now when they put in specific drops from that content (and make it not account-bound) the drop-rate has to be extremely low to prevent the TP from flooding with those items. Because even with extreme low drop-rates, simply the fact that so many people keep doing this specific content so many times, the items will still drop many times overall. Law of the big numbers. However, it also means that you as individual person have almost no possibility of getting such items in a reasonable way from the content itself. You are better of grinding gold (by doing Teq.. see the visual circle here?) to then sell the items you don’t want and other people do, to then buy the item you like and others don’t.

You do know that the weapon boxes Im talking about are account bound so no matter how much gold I collect Í cant buy them so what is the point of your post again?

Does identifying them give rare/exotics? cuz it’d suck being forced to identify them when I just wanna murder all the common and masterwork junk without being flooded with sigils/runes.

Yes you can get rare and exotics from the unidentified gear.
Same as you can get it from green champ/masterwork bags

Fractals: Just create your own group and don’t join farm runs.

So i am locked out of joining farm groups in fractals. Unless i make my own, but this wont be such fast farm groups, since its not 3ele+chrono+warr setup, right?

And Raid groups?
Whom they will take – Ranger or Elementalist in Raid group? I.e. i am locked out of this content as well.

No it wont be as fast farm group, you know why its fast? becouse of the requirments that say you cant bring your ranger.

I play druid in raids and most fights condi ranger is totaly welcome into the group.
Bear bow longbow ranger is however not.

We have know for what 4 years that there arent any dungeon team so it shouldent blow your mind at all mate.

They cant fix the forum, it was develped by a third party that no longer exsist.
Hence why search function dont even work on it mate.

Yea the 6 wings a year was what the in theory could push out as guess.

And then I dont want them to burn them self out on pushing raid content either.

We got 2 new and irc 4? reworks right so thats plenty of fractals considering how many we got the first 3 years.
