If you have bought HoT, you have full access to the content therein. LS3 is not part of HoT. The confusion comes from needing HoT to play LS3 (you can even bank it for free it as a f2p by logging in every 2-3 months) due to the mastery progression system.

Aww – That’s it I guess? Yet, so many voices told us we were wrong when we said that HoT was a half baked, content lacking piece of DLC sold as an “expansion”. People kept defending the lack of content with statements advocating HoT like a “season pass” to the (meager) HoT package + the promise of L3 story content.

So HoT is basically: Gliding, 4 different 4-layered maps, 1 elite spec pr. profession and a few core buffs? Compared to most other games: Overpriced DLC?

Yea they always said it would be more focus on systems then on content.
And you got living story season 3 if you just loged in for 1 second during the months each episode were the current one.

If anything for new players starting today living story is the dlc.

The focus is on new content but ...

I only want 2 things to changed in dungeons:

  • Go over the inanimate objects in those instances to be affected by conditions so condition builds aren’t hindered in certain paths.
  • Bring back Twilight Arbor’s Forward/Up path. I don’t recall the Aether path colliding with the F/U path, but if it does – shift it over. I miss that path so much and it was fun to do and have.

They dont collied at all but apparently it was to much of a hassle to fix the last boss in forward up so it was decided to remove it.

Ascended stat resets.

If they put in a similar title for owning all Legendary weapons from the base and a similar title for owning all Legendary weapons from HoT, then I’d be fine with a own all legendary armor from HoT title being added.

But there’s nothing special about legendary armor that’s not special about legendary weapons so it wouldn’t be fair to reward getting all of the armor pieces but not getting all of the weapons.

Legendary Armor is special because you are required to raid 12 weeks for one set and a total of 60 sets for all 3 sets and spend thousands of gold in addition. Legendary weapons are not timegated or skillgated by anything last time I checked.

Ofcourse they are.
Take time to get all the map completions on alts and drops/buy all the precoursors.
You just raid for yours can do it on 1 character and get all 3 100% no rng over time.

I am coming up for 5 years of playing, so been through every change from the beginning where you had exotic gear with rune of the pirate to todays MF through salvage. I have had 22 precursor drops of which I’ve made 15, plus legendary fractal and pvp backpacks. What I can say for sure, although its hard to prove, is that with each patch, the drop rates decrease in spite of my MF going up to where it is now at 286%. Silverwastes, Tequatil, worst drops I’ve ever experienced, even salvaging rares or exos with BL salvage kit does not yield ectos like it used to (I know, 100% upgrades and 50% for rarer items). I have played 13k hours, and at level 2905 in WvW, have not seen any decent drop. I think you could take every stat ever made with percentages to try prove or disprove stats, but if you eat KFC every day for 5 years and they keep changing the recipe, no matter what they say, you know its changed every time. GL to you all for the future, its looks more like slim pickings from here.

With 22 Precursor drops, I’d say your luck is pretty good. With half your time played (for nearly 5 years), I’ve only had 2. 0.o

Yea I second that I played 1/3 of him and got 4.
Edit and took 2971 hours before I got my first.

I was thinking about this topic and it struck me, no matter what arguments a particular player can make ANet will never put this in game because it completely devalues the gemstore inventory bag purchases and the ingame (X# of slots) bags.

Let’s say I have a new char with a starting 20 slot bag and one or two 4 slots bags. If the game had the OPs suggestion and I enable it I never need to upgrade my inventory. I just let the lootpanels accumulate on the side and at the end of the day I open, accept (or reject) and sell/salvage in sequence until the loot panels are empty. With the side loot panels waiting there for me to open up I now have an extremely large inventory. No need to buy extra inventory bags from the gemstore or craft or buy bags ingame. So, not only would this hurt ANet’s sales of the bags but it would hurt the value of the ingame bag. Which means there’s no chance ANet would put this in.

I don’t get how it would hurt the bag value if it’s the player’s choice to take loot or not. That just seems stupid.

Look again at my example. What you are actually suggesting is an extremely large “invisible” inventory container off to the side, through unopened loot panels.

A player now buys or crafts large size inventory bags or buys extra bag slots from the gemstore. Why should a player buy the bags when he can store loot in the “invisible” loot panels until he decides to accept the loot? He can have only the starter 20 bag and wait to accept all his loot at the end of the day. He could have an extremely large amount of loot in the loot panels sitting there. No need to upgrade his inventory since it won’t fill up while playing.

I have not mentioned anything about invisible bags or anything like that. The only thing I am suggesting is that the NORMAL looting how it shows a loot window be AOE. That’s it. There’s no way it is “OP” or anything because you know why? Because you stated before that it will take longer to remove loot/filter it out of your inventory. So how would that ruin the gem store in anyway. It makes it longer and hard for people like me to filter out the loot so there will be no advantage. Plus there are already 2 options plus a mastery that allows auto loot. Wouldn’t making people auto be easier? So why not add this?

Ok. I’m not talking about invisible bags. I’ll try again to explain.

Player A has one 20 slot starter bag and no other bags. Why should he buy or craft gemstore bags or ingame bags when he can enable your loot suggestion and let all his loot sit in the not yet accepted loot panels all day until he decides to open them before he logs out.

This effectively gives him an enormous, free increase to his inventory size. All the loot that would need inventory slots is sitting in the loot panel inventory until he decides to open it. For that he only needs the original 20 slot starter bag as he can open the loot panel and accept in sequence. He can accumulate loot for hours this way without having a single item go to his one, single 20 slot bag.

the loot window is only on the body and functions like the normal looting if you had the AoE loot on interact setting and Auto loot setting (already in game) checked off. There is not invisible bags or anything and after a certain distance walking away or changing maps the loot will disappear like it does normally. Nothing is added no invisible bags no free bag slot no nothing. THE NORMAL LOOTING BUT AOE. Go try it for yourself.

Still takes more time to click on the 2-3 out of 6 items you want in every battle then stop once your bags are full and delet those 3 item stacks mate.

No more kiddy dialogue, please!

We get it. You like the Canach voice actor. Unless you can prove otherwise, the voice actor reads directly from the script which is written by the same writers that write everything else. There are other people that love other character voice actors more.

As I mentioned before, he let’s some contractions slip, plus it’s in his intonation that does the trick. You can recite something in one way or another, and it will make all the difference.

Or the ones doing the typing for cutsence are cutting corners while typing maybe?

You know, just because you don’t want those mats now doesn’t mean you won’t want them later. In addition, refusing loot is refusing gold. Gold that you may very much want later for a future goal. It’s far better to accept all loot, use the option from your salvage kit ‘salvage all masterwork and lower’ to mass salvage then send all the mats directly to your material storage by using
1) options (gear icon, top right hand corner of your char’s inventory) then select
2) ‘deposit all materials.’ And send it off.
When you get a stack of something, pull it out and sell it on the trading post. Easy gold. (Or a least a few silver).

Again I don’t really care about the gold and mats because I have full stacks in my bank and most mats from event metas are worth absolutely nothing in the tp. I don’t want to waste time dragging the items off my screen to delete or go to a vendor to sell for 5 copper. Yes I know they add up but I have other ways to make money.

You can press O anywere and instantly sell to buyers the materials you dont want.
That would surely be quicker then going through each loot item in the pop up bag.

You do know that you can use the pvp lobby crossed sword icon in top left corner to sell stuff at laurel merchant from anywere right?

Outfits are all or nothing with a headpiece on/off switch.
The Mask you bought is a skin for your armor headpiece and thus will be hidden when your outfit is turned on. Sorry :\

Yes and thats why alot of people want more armor skins instead of outfits in the game, but since people still keep buying outfits anet keep making em.

How to balance Condition damage

The problem with condition damage has always been, that it completely ignores all defense

Anet has to remove the Resistance Boon (that would be also good to work against effect spam, this game has too much boons and conditions than is good for GW2) and rework the Resistance Boon into a Resistance System similar to what GW1 had, just with the difference now, that this time we don#t have resistances for like a hand full of different damage types, but this time instead we should have Resistances towards each individual condition.

Thats a classical rpg element system that is completely missing in this game since begin which owuld massively help to rebalance all conditions and make them also stronger individually part of each characters build!!

If I could get in this game for my character for example 50% Poison Resistance through the help of Food Buffs, my Gear, my Traits, my Skills, then should my Character receive in that time while I have this 50% Poison resistance 50% lesser Damage from Poison Ticks and Poison should last 50% lesser.

This way would we get finally something, into GW2, that is very important for class balancing – its called STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES.

Especially once Condition Removals get reworked so, that they can only remove very specific conditions and not generally everything.
That way would make it possible to reduce the spam frequence of condition skills, because when it becomes harder to remove conditions, then it is also not nessecarry to spam them non stop all the tiem just to ensure that your enemy suffers on the conditions you want… and in the end we all now, that still condition removals can keep up with the condition spam due to their too long recharge times.

So why keep tham as spam mechanic, when removal skills will never anyways catch up with the frequency of the condition spam??

Merge with this reformat of the system then also unneccessary boons and conditions together to reduce their total amount and make those boons and conditions that stay more impactful to the combat system and these both changes will naturally lead to an easier balance of the whole combat system and condition damage.

Condition Damage is out of control, because there exist no ways for the player to reduce the damage that you take, other than using tons of condition removals and removal mechanics through traits ect by which you massively cripple down your own DPS but improve your survivability, or by using buff food that reduces condition durations – by using that you indirectly reduce the condition damage that you potentially can take.

What the game needs is a way with that players can directly active reduce condition damage through getting more resistance towards that specific condition and reducing its effectiveness to ignore your armor.

So by having 50% Poison Resistance would that mechanic basically half the effectiveness from Poison to ignore my Armor from 100% to 50% so that I receive directly only half as much damage from the poison ticks and that as long as the Poison Resistance is active and not completely blocking all the Poison off like the Resistance Boon does it, which makes the Boon compared to such a resistance system overpowered.

Because under my system wouldn#t condition build usesers compeltely be shut off in the moment your enemy increases his resistance agaisnt conditions, youd still be able to deal conditinos and damage, but in that moment just significantly lesser based on how powerful the resistance of your enemy is towards the specific conditions.

Ah so then protection should first cut out 33% of the power from the player hitting you then cut 33% of the damage from the hit aswell then?

Going by your dubble nerf to poison in both damage and duration.

No compromise, please! A replayable season 1 should be just like the replayable season 2, 3, etc. Take the important parts of season 1 (there aren’t that many) put them into instances and tell the story that way. If it’s too much work for them they’re more than justified to charge gems for the episodes, but I want a full-blown story chapter, not fractals.

You do know that most of season 1 was open world right?

Separate Armor Weight from Skins

I really need to bookmark ANet’s information on this so I can link it fast …

ANet (perhaps unwisely) designed the three armor weights using different rigs, ie the skeletons on which the armor hangs. There are technical reasons preventing mix and match. Remember they did this design many years ago, long before launch, and back then they did have a silhouette concern as a game play feature.

I sure wish they hadn’t done that. I’d love to mix and match all the weights. But it just can’t be done unless they redesign the underlying rigs and then remake every single armor piece in the game. This is apparently so huge a task they’d have to give up on pretty much all other content for a long time, just to end up with things mostly looking the same.

So maybe if there’s ever a GW3 they’ll have learned to design for maximum flexibility in costuming, but it can’t happen with the current game.

If this has changed since ANet made detailed explanations of the issue, I’ve not seen any ANet comments to that effect.

Ok then but this doesnt change the fact that since theres a fixed model option their arguement about class silhouettes makes no sense. So they can go ahead and design what ever non trenchcoat set for mediums etc. Also it that rig limitation aplies then why do outfits work?

Why it work for outfits is easy it a one piece suit thats only modled after race.

You can just start insta selling your blue green and yellow on trading post, pretty sure someone will be willing to take them off your hands so you dont have to deal with the trash.

No problem with the first but second wont work since they then have to go and remake alot so the medium coat you decide to wear dont clip with your light pants ( lol Yea I know there are like 1 pair of pants) or your heavy shoulders.

Bottom line, I really don’t care about all the arguments that are for the EXP bars being locked behind doing a a part of the game designed for the 1%rs. I d not want any anything to do with raids that were made for the elite minority. All I see is EXP points being awarded and my EXP bar locked and not moving and as a daily player it just urinates me off!!!! Anet, WTG!!!!!! You have succeeded in alienating me and many other players (imho) because you are making the the game for the few instead of all.

Even as a pve player you should be able to do the escort event and boss mate.

It’s a free gift. To be honest, you sound a little entitled. I mean, if someone gives you a real birthday gift and it’s something you already happen to own, do you ask them to upgrade it? It’s not Anets fault that you bought EVERY SINGLE dye.

Maybe you could be happy that you own EVERY SINGLE dye and not worry about the free gift without needing more more more?

some of us used the crafting skill to craft every dye in the game .and sold the ones given to me for free for a nice profit . some of us use our in game gold for more import items

and never ever spend real world money on this game after the buying the game

GW2’s control scheme would not work with consoles. Too many buttons.

You can map alot of buttons on to the controler mate.
If you hold one of the top buttons and then press below ones thats 16 buttons just there plenty enough for the low button game gw2 is.

Being a pc player myself I wouldent want to use a controller tho

Ashen.2907, Oh… I see. I thought access to all those jungle locations is restricted as restricted bloodstone fen and maps linked to it. So only those few maps weren’t supposed to be original HoT content. That explains it. I’m glad that I was mistaken. Thank you for clearing things out for me.

To get into the jungle areas you have to start the hot story, it will leady you there through the silverwastes.

Almost everything worth salvaging from season 1 has been salvaged. The story, such as it was, was embarassingly awful and should never see the light of day again.

Turn the marionette battle and the retaking of LA into fractals, and that’s everything worthwhile from it.

Dont forget queens jubilee, dragon bash, karka invasion and the clockwork invasions mate.

So, just run the favored 8 paths. Anyone that ran all paths for the 43 Gold before the nerf would run all the paths after the nerf, no? Wasn’t the ‘nerf’ to discourage just running the one (or two) easy speed-run paths, and to encourage players to run the other paths therefore spreading out dungeon-runners to possibly include newer (to dungeons) players?

Wrong. 8 paths now -> 5 gold and some more tokens. 8 paths before (if i would choose Arah) -> 20-25 gold and some less tokens. The difference (in gold) from the tokens you get now and the tokens you got before is way lower than the 15-20 gold liquid difference.

As anyone can see, the “nerf” HIGHLY encouraged players to run dungeons. Yep.

Also you don’t understand, the idea is for the veteran players to come back to dungeons to play with the new players. That’s the way new players would learn the mechanics in the game. But most aren’t, they are in raids and T4 fractals. Why? Because they are rewarding. Why aren’t they in dungeons? Because they are not rewarding. If dungeons were rewarding, the veteran players would be doing them. Can you follow?

Your wrong mate you can rerun the same 8 paths as many times as you want for the bonus 5 gold and by that make more then before.

See, I thought Meatoberfest too, but (knowing the event is year-round because event) isn’t it supposedly in October? And we have October covered – The Mad King pops up in October, kicking off the fall-winter-spring set of festivals.

Mind you if we can hold a Giant Charr Meat-fest in June i am all for it.

The first thing that dropped my jaw when i started this game was the amazing helpfullness when you got downed. People speeding towards you to help you up and so inspiring me to do the same.

What a dissapointement to see there are already forces at work to condemn it to the ‘not done’ corner.

By no means am I against rezzing. Even if it means I am likely going to die myself I will take the chance IF it helps the group.

If you want to renew your faith look at where someone was killed after the action has left their immediate area and there is a few seconds reprieve while the NPC is running to the next mob. Likely you will get the message that there are too many people trying to resurrect someone.

Who cares? You are playing a game and it is a friendly act. There is even a Mastery that makes it faster. I am currently working on it and looking forward to utilise it on all that are down, in whatever circumstance and wether it helps the group or not.

Because I prefer the unconditional approach. Down is down and it’s my duty to revive my unfortunate comrads in arms…. even if it kills me.

People need to take their games less serious.. way less.

Yes and that mastery only work on people below 80 mate so 99% of the time useless at world bosses.

Noone is asking downed people to die and wp they will get revived if it can be, but if you have 5 dead people and 1 downed how easy is it to target the downed?

imho the stark lack of armours since release is a major part of what makes the game stale,
we all look like we did 4 years ago for the most part…
we’ve had a couple of new sets but generally once you’d got your character looking as good as you think they could 4 years ago…they stayed the same.

i hope the crystal desert Xpac comes with LOTS of armours, a plethora of skimpy, sexy and bulky, protective armours!

give us a reason to go around collecting them!

Idk if that is possible – HoT came with Bladed armor…

Summer festival?

Okay, well, if we want a ‘new’ festival…what about something honoring Trahearne or the Pale Tree in the summer? You know, the big growing season, plant people? It could be like the Japanese thing where they chart blooming cherry trees in the spring? Only maybe the Pale Tree blooms once a year in summer or something? Sylvari would find that something to celebrate.

Mad King, Wintersday and New Year are all in Kryta, SAB is in Metrica. We could do sylvari, or norn (maybe norn have a midsummer festival around ‘the time of year when the sun doesn’t set AT ALL’, they’re probably far enough north for that) Or charr have a fireworks contest that involves fireworks AND blowing things up…

I mean just as off-the-top-of-my-head ideas. I’d honestly love to see old festivals that were held in the summer return, but since I didn’t start playing until they passed on, that’s more curiosity than nostalgia. I could totally love new festivals just as much.

They could add meatober fest as a real festival aswell.

Another solution: disable revive of dead people while in combat just like in WvW. Now there is no reason for dead people to wait for a revive anymore.

Yes I really hope they put this into the game mate.

So what would happen if they added an option where you can decide to stop gaining XP for Masteries but for another reward, like Spirit Shards.

I believe whatever that reward is, it would become worthless within a day, simply because everybody would get it. Those who maxed Masteries get it, those who don’t have enough Mastery Points to buy the next line would get it, and everybody who decides to not bother with Masteries anymore would get it.

Whatever that item is, we would have a huge surplus within short time. I believe everybody already has more Spirit Shards than he will ever use, so what’s the point of getting more of them? XP comes plentyful, and therefore, any reward would be diminished.

And thats why that reward could only be spirit shards mate.

Not sure how closely you’re following this thread, and I know this is a longshot, but I would love if we could deposit Tomes of Knowledge. I know they’re not really a crafting material, but for those of us overflowing with them that may want to either use them on new characters at some point or convert them to spirit shards, it would free up a bit of bank space.

stick 250 in your bank then keep using the ones you get, problem solved your no longer overflowing with them.

im sure they will manage as they did for 4 years :/ still with all the bugs just overnerfing it (in alot of ppl’s opinion) wasnt the right thing. I mean its not L I T E R A L L Y U N P L A Y A B L E just abit buggy

Have you tried running dungeons recently?

I been doing full runs of ac, cm, ta, cof, coe and hotw as late as monday this week.
No problem filling said parties.

Not really in fractals outside of t4 you get pretty terrible loot but at least its repeatable. I mean srsly now for a second how would increasing the rewards o content meaing that contet wuld hold more value meaning more ppl would do it be bad for the game?

Well with all the bugs that can happen in some paths Im quite sure anet dont want more people to do them.

I agree with the OP. Queen’s Jubilee etc. would be tons of fun. The other day, I was attacked for suggesting to bring events like the Festival of the Four Winds back, when my intention was merely to come up with an example to have more festivals during the year, even if it’s just “old ones” returning.

Just read that whole thread and I cant see you getting atacked anywere.

Mostly people agreeing with you and some saying that the reason you stated was to weak to make it happen fairness.

Nothing in this game is fair, I to would like it to return but I expect its like the revenant weapons lost somewere in a closet.

Thats why a friendly hand of extra 5 gold wont ruind anything ^^. To do the 8 paths it usually takes the better part of half an hour of even 40 mins esp if you add aetherpath. Same with fractals so 10 gold seems resonable. This happened again when they overnerfed the pvp rewards and everyone left instead of killing communities and things players loved make them more apealing and reasonable. And 10 gold per 8 paths IS reasonable. Also you dont get reasonable gold per path you get reasonable gold per path once. Im not saying remove the diminishing returns but buffing the daily dungeons runners would be great

Yes you get decent enough gold per path once, its the same with fractals you get decent once so its in line with other content.

Edit.
The lower level mats some coin and 5 gold +150 tokens is a good reward for dungeons.

there are 32 paths including the 7 story paths so thats 4 times running all paths and getting max gold for each path.

Sounds like you just want to do the 8 quick ones and get 10 golds easy how ever many times a day you do it.

Good news you can already do it for half the reward.
