I’m using Logitech software and do not have any issues, but you may want to check out this link on registry-fixing it: http://www.esreality.com/post/1846538/markc-windows-7-mouse-acceleration-fix/
It’s not just you. While the world itself is rather pretty, the armour is generally considered boring, the legendaries – irritatingly unique beyond reasonable, and some armours, including gemstore ones – even ugly. The non-dyeable weapons also make it worse as it usually leaves just 1-2 colour options outside the “gray-brown” colour scheme, and those 1-2 weapons may not match your style anyway.
So again, GW2 may be (or is) superiour in terms of user-friendly mechanics and non-P2W model, but it’s character visuals are often called subpar compared to Asian visual-heavy MMOs. Still, it’s an American MMO, and it finds enough fans which prefer its “brutal” style to “elegant” ones.
As for me, I’m not working towards legendaries for a simple reason – I don’t like any and they don’t fit my characters.
Hello! We are still here waiting! Please give us some light at least.
Some light: if by any chance Chinese guys prefer self-replicating mesmers to solo warriors, we may get some fixes. If by any chance Chinese guys prefer furry chars to Caucasian humans, we may also see fixes to charr armour clipping.
But well, I highly doubt that charr mesmers would be the dominant race-class combo in China. But we can dream, right?
Hi All,
I just wanted to take the time to make it clear that we are indeed reading all the feedback, not just about Megasverver but in many areas of this forum, others and in game.
As Colin has mentioned in the past Megaserver technology is a multi phase release and we are monitoring\discussing it every day.
We are very focused on a multitude of areas of GW2 including China and excited for our new global community and what lies ahead.
I wanted to say that I agree with the concerns around the post on twitter. I have a very small number of followers and rarely catch up on my account and following a very late night earlier this week caught up on my notifications and replied. I am a strong believer in exposition to all and will be more careful about this moving forward.
Regarding Dev communication on the forums currently, as I said we are very focused on a number of areas currently and are looking forward to being able to turn our attention to healthy discussions with you all soon.
This post is not designed to appease, it is designed to inform so please take it in the spirit in which it was intended.
Chris
Acknowledgment of lack of communication, no acknowledgment of issues; feels like the “no communication” directive has been (temporarily?) lifted, the “no discussion of issues and no promises” directive is still there, thus the vague formulation. Still, makes sense for me and delivers more than could be said directly
Giving them the same red carpet treatment they gave us when we pre-pruchased the game. Listening to their feedback. Teaching them the game. Responding to their concerns. Playing the game with them.
So naturally, our feedback is not worth listening to, and the only things we’re currently really needed for before the release are 3000 gems infinite tools, 2000 gems baby minis and 1000 gems gold edition upgrade? Rrright.
Why do people keep claiming that they would roll them out slowly?
I am almost 100% certain that they said they would roll them out OVER TIME, which says nothing at all about the speed of the roll out.
Here:
With the launch of the April 2014 Feature Pack, we’ll be activating the megaserver system on our level 1–15 maps, main cities, and the PvP lobby. We’ll monitor and test the system to verify that everything works correctly. Later in 2014, we’ll activate our megaserver technology across the entire world of Tyria.
Obviously, from the player’s experience with regard to precursor crafting, new legendaries, guild halls, “large projects cooking in background”, QoL features etc., “later in 2014” was not “in 1 or 2 weeks”, but rather “sometime in early 2015”.
I like the auto-number in the thread URL: /forum/game/gw2/MOUNTS-10
Ok, I know, I know, you say it’s because of the Chinese release, but I just can’t stop wondering…
…whaddazhaitan are all of them doing in China if they’re launching the same game, simply translated and with a minor premium BLTC thingie, and whaddatrahearne is doing the Chinese team then?
our work is not yet complete
Isn’t that saying exactly that there are issues that they need/want to solve?
No, it may as well say they still haven’t added all the issues they wanted to.
Yes. Off the top of my head: broken bugged non-teleporting non-dieing Taidha; broken Megadestroyer triple defence event; broken Angaria event at Arah where no mobs spawn.
I understand that it can be inconvenient and annoying, but does it actually stop you from accessing something in the game right now that is required in order to progress?
If not, it is not game-breaking enough to warrant taking resources from a top-priority issue (Chinese launch) for it.
According to you, if my Personal Story is bugged, I can go create another character and to his/her PS instead. According to me, not being able to play a part of the game because of coding issues is a game-breaking thing.
Just out of curiosity, have you filed bug reports for these things?
I’ve been reporting and listing bugs till the moment I got tired of being a beta-tester and seeing that most of reported things were never touched. My amount of good will towards ANet has been depleted, and I for example do not want to waste my MF booster time reporting yet another bug of which they should be aware of by checking their logs.
I can’t help but feel this would be the wrong message to give out – a school girl outfit? No- sorry no.
Capes? Yeap, not a problem.
Nearly topless Marvel heroes/Avatars? Sure, here you go.
Outfits of executioners with skulls and axes designed to chop off victim’s heads? Come on, that’s just a game!
School uniform? OHMYGAWDNO-WRONGMESSAGE-YOUPERVERTSGOTOJAIL!!!!111
/shrug
(edited by Lishtenbird.2814)
Great, a schoolgirl outfit. Now we just need angel and demon wings and we’re set for a Korean release
Korean version of GW2? Yes, please.
It even may be as bugged, but at least it will look pretty.
Assured stomps shouldn’t be so much easy to get, it’s a total design fail; bring your L2p issues somehwere else.
Again, this is not the thread for QQing about how you failed to make a mesmer use its 60-second-cooldown Distortion and 3 upped clones before stomping you, or anything similar – bring it to the appropriate thread or create your own. This is not a “feature”.
The sudden zerging of badly scaling events is not gamebreaking? It breaks a whole lot of events, dude.
Does it make the game mechanically unplayable?
Yes. Off the top of my head: broken bugged non-teleporting non-dieing Taidha; broken Megadestroyer triple defence event; broken Angaria event at Arah where no mobs spawn.
- Being able to stomp/defend from stomping people with the same chance of fighting back:
It’s ridicle most classes can get an assured stomp in stealth/invulnerability/blind/etc. on a LOW cooldown and others can’t do anything.
It doesn’t promote skill, it totally kittens the system.
L2P issue, not a “feature”. I’ll redirect you to this thread – https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/pvp/pvp/Downed-State-4/ – and quote myself:
Some classes have strong downed skills to compensate for general squishiness (like ele). If you remove it, you have to rebalance everything else.
If a developer came on here and wrote “Orange”, would that be satisfying?
I see what you did there.
Since the patch, my dodge clones often sit there and do nothing. Nothing!
/sigh
Oh come on, you should be happy they’re not trying to kill you!
(Yet).
One more failed sponsor-triggered Teq with randoms laying light fields and not standing in correct places. Followed by jumping through instances wondering if I got into the right map instance with the guild or not.
A really encouraging 1+ hour experience, yes.
How come no warriors have noticed this oversight ?
It was a bit hard to spot while mowing down enemies in the so rare “80 ZERK WAR ONLY OR KICK” groups.
… store far less data inside templates when those happen.
THIS excites me
Are we going to be able to store templates? That would really be a big big step!
No ETA on templates. However, the new build tech brings us muuuuch closer than before.
Or Japanese for “to hang”, so maybe it’s a subliminal message to say what our hopes regarding Cantha can do :-P (I must be wrong haha) And it also means “bowstring”, so it might mean they have more than one string to their bow :-D
Yup, but it sounds fishy and the original message was mostly sarcasm anyway
Someone explain to me: I’m trying to wrap my head around how hard could it possibly be to code the camera into allowing us into first person view.
How hard could it possibly be to at least put an option to remove the character model from the current view?
Been listed here as #24. First-person/no character view for taking screenshots and fighting large bosses. and numerous times before and after, but it simply looks like no one on the dev side cares.
The issue is your computer is requesting too much information from the servers and your computer and/or internet connection can’t handle it. The easiest way to ‘fix’ this issue is to utilize the graphics options available.
Graphical settings have zero effect on Internet usage. The server transfers a constant amount of data, client simply renders the received data according to graphical settings of the client.
- If you disconnected, it was either your local ISP problem or ANet’s. Since DCing after LS updates is very frequent, it’s most likely ANet’s problem – their servers can’t handle the amount of people present in each instance.
- If your skills are lagging (up to not firing at all), it’s either ISP or ANet’s problem; most likely it’s ANet’s problem as their servers can’t handle the amount of people they squished in each instance. The amount of skill lag after launch of megaservers has skyrocketed for me.
- If the client crashed, it’s either your PC which couldn’t render the data provided by the client due to non-client soft/hardware issues, or the client’s been bugged, your specific settings triggered the bug, and it crashed.
- If your framerate is low, it’s always your PC + client problem; there’s a limit to upgrading your PC (because the client is badly optimized and uses outdated technologies), after which you can only reduce graphical settings and/or resolution.
Still no angel or archangel wings >.<
give me archangel wings please.
Angel, Devil and Chaos/Branded legendary backpacks. Makes sense.
And since “Tsuru” is Japanese for “crane”, we will also see Cantha, yeah.
I would not care about wings in particular, I do not find them very fitting, but agree to
1) more variety of back items
2) back items being dyeable to include them better in your styleAs it is, once you have a new backitem they are so widespread, that they become an optical nuicance, cause at least 50% of population wears them.
Yeap, all the cool skins are really widespread. Like, people are sick of blue holo wings because they’re everywhere, matching or not; but if you add 10 more different wings, then suddenly all the same amount of people who want wings get pretty and matching ones, and suddenly wings are no longer a “dominant” eye sore.
It’s true, I’ve hunted down and stomped the couple that I’ve seen, if only to be able to say that I’ve staked a couple.
Probably s/he got stuck after Blink, or Blink failed, or iLeap failed, or iWarden tried to stare you to death, or didn’t reflect the bow, or illusions switched to those mobs instead of attacking you, or the swiftness from Curtain didn’t stack, or your arrows tracked him/er in stealth, or…
How about cloaks!?
I am having a hard time deciding on what back skin to use on my new asura warrior. I’m using full vigil armor, and I think a cloak would go perfectly with it, but for now I just have the back item hidden.
I don’t really get… Why do you care about armour if 90% of your char’s body will always be hidden by cloaks/capes for 90% of your game time?
If you love penguins, you may call those things “wings”.
2 of 3 have the same model, 2 of 3 have the same texture. And they’re irritatingly flapping instead of properly reacting to movement.
Honestly, who DOESN’T want the option of wearing a cape?
- Me. I was not brought up with Superman as a model of a hero.
- Developers. They’re seeing clipping charrs in capes in their nightmares.
With posts like “I just spent $70 to check which sigils/runes work and which not”, I think this is working as intended.
I agree that a cheaper extractor would make more sense for players. Yet I simply see that they’re offsetting the advertised benefits of wardrobe with non-advertised hampering of other functionality, primarily runes/sigils on unsalvageable gear.
is it fixed yet is it fixed yet is it fixed yet????
No, there’s a hard limit of one whirling fix per feature patch.
You can get an extra mantra charged and get +4% dmg without the utility slotted in:
That’s actually pretty awesome.
Viewed, listed, marked as game-breaking and giving unfair advantage and fixed in the very next patch.
(edited by Lishtenbird.2814)
No, please. GW2 is not a f2p korean mmo.
Because of course a Western B2P MMO needs capes, more capes and only capes! /sarcasm
And as I know I couldn’t care less for capes, I’ll make sure to post in any new capes thread that we don’t need capes.
OP: There’s been a thread with nice examples – https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Suggest-new-set-of-wings-angel-devil-etc/ – and unfortunately it suffered from the same “But we’re ’mericans!” syndrome.
(edited by Lishtenbird.2814)
You mean, like, an upgrade extractor?
2. If you get offended in-game, I wonder what you are like IRL.
If you easily abuse others in games, I wonder what you are like IRL.
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:
Unfortunately, I will not be spending my time documenting mesmer’s bugs and keeping this list up to date anymore. Anyone who feels like it – you’re free to continue posting here or recreate a new thread and keep it updated; you can get the text with original formatting by quoting the first posts. Cheers!

That would never have occurred to me, because I know the difference between a language selection switch and a server selection screen.
With ANet’s transparency of communication? Yeah, right.
I also do know they’re different, and despite it that made me stop and wonder. What about those people who’re not used to reading forums or memorising insignificant technical details?
or maybe Australia? Geez, the things people make a fuzz about. Anet is an american company, they speak English and probably identified that as “American”. If you are such a great European, then go the whole way, don´t play an american game. Pffff… This forum is really beginning to make me hate mankind.
So you never heard of NA servers? And it never occurred to you that an American flag would totally look like you were going to join an NA group with very high latency? With things like gobal TP and Megazergers that’s only natural.
You mean the one at the Shatterer? No idea why it happens, but I also got kicked out of it repeatedly after using it (mesmer). Not sure but that might be a part of its mechanic when it gets damaged.
Been answered by devs: wording error, will be fixed soon™.
Some classes have strong downed skills to compensate for general squishiness (like ele). If you remove it, you have to rebalance everything else.
Maybe add:
- Ability to take items from BLTP one by one also. Not only “Take All” option.
I’m in favour of the idea as a player but I see large exploitability here.
Like, I do need this function when I get some things for different alt. But can you think of a way to stop people from using the TP as a permanent large and free storage for flippable items?
So, now that you fixed all of our good bugs, can you guys fix our bad ones, please?
Bug Q gives an advantage to classes A, B and C. Hotfix it!
Bugs X, Y, Z give an advantage to classes A, B, C, D, E, F, G. Leave them there for ages!
On one hand, as the OP I thought I wanted to ask the thread frequenters to behave to let the devs take the thread seriously.
On the other hand, I do not want to say anything because otherwise maybe the devs would see the general mood of the thread and would start to take the thread seriously.
EDIT: Seems like the stuck bug is really getting more often.
(edited by Lishtenbird.2814)
will this take another 8 month to fix?
Probably longer, seeing as it isn’t broken, there’s just a high quantity of fools that think it is.
Yknow what I did when pets started dealing twice as much damage as normal? I reported it. I didn’t come on the forums claiming it had always been like that. Grow up.
And neither did I. I hopped ingame and tested out the iWarlock thoroughly. It has precisely the same damage coefficient and scaling as pre-patch. People are just having fits because of the strength runes and battle sigil combo boosting damage.
Good testing bro.
I’ve been playing PvP regularly since the patch (instead of PvE, thanks megazergers) and haven’t noticed an increase in the damage I do nor in the damage I receive. I’m generally interested in reading bug threads so turned on combat log but again, didn’t see any substantial numbers. So if there is a bug, it’s not a 100% repro or a lot more people would’ve complained.
I did, however, receive a “this gonna be nerfed!” warning after finishing a guardian with stealth plus distortion in a 2 (we) vs 1 (him) fight.
(edited by Lishtenbird.2814)
Tried illusions on gates in WvW yesterday – they also appear on the other side of the gate and run off to attack people, but at least they attack the gate (dunno about all gates, but the one on the picture at least).
Phantasmal Retreat – for me, stuck happens more often than before April Update.
Seen no change in Phase Retreat/shadowstep stucking with staff build in PvP. May be a latency issue since more people are playing PvP and servers are stressed out more with megazergers active. I did get a skill lag in PvP though…
(edited by Lishtenbird.2814)
There’s been a thread on this subject before. There were basically two groups of people:
- those who thought it was boring because it was easy;
- those who thought it would be boring if it wasn’t easy.
You’re in the first group. I’m in the second. You like challenge; I like progression, I like to feel stronger, I like to get lower rewards only for easier tasks.
If they buffed the monsters for 80s, I do not think I would ever finish my map completion.
Zergs are simply a by-product of:
No Holy Trinity.
Simple as that.
No.
Zergs are simply a by-product of:
Lazy people.
Simple as that.
You a) may be hardcore; b) may be casual; c) may want to play the game on your notebook with a donut and a youtube. The c) niche is usually occupied by Facebook flashgames which are not epic enough for a regular gamer; GW2, however, in its business model takes a step in that direction and grabs a large amount of one-time buyers who get a “real” RPG which requires next to no skills and effort to succeed in.
And eventually, we receive enough people liking megazergers and pushing us out of the main target audience.
(edited by Lishtenbird.2814)
Hey there, Piken neighbour! I also liked my home server a lot for it being “moderately high” population – enough to make most events which were worth it successful but in most cases not overcrowded and not overflowed (except for LS in peak hours). I could solo some things and zerg some things – but there was a balance for both, especially since I main a mesmer and tagging [invulnerable] mobs in large groups requires extreme timing.
Now I always get mixed in with some random Spanish, French and German players with their filters on and talking about their own business… I do not like feeling like I’m always in EoTM with a zerg from some other countries who do not even care if I’m here or not, if I can tag the mobs or not. It got more lonely than before. And heck, I’m missing some of my favourite world boss neigbours I never talked to but got used to, like that Italian fuchsia sylvari ranger with The Emperor title
Why start a new thread, when the ‘Future looks bright’ one is working just fine?
This one is “Present looks bright”.
what “exploitability”? But if it there, it would be accessible for everyone and that would make it fair and increase the playability of the game.
I’m talking about bots. Actually, I’m just mentioning them, because we’re not allowed to talk about bots here
Because clicking is an inferior movement method in an action game and requires the implementation and maintaining of smart pathing which is actually more work than most people are aware of.
And this – just take a look at the hilarious pathing of ranger pets, necro minions, mesmer’s illusions. AI does not know about jumping over obstacles at all in this game. It would also require server resources – those resources which we’re already lacking with megaservers and have been lacking during LS.
And personally I think that adding point-and-go would just dumb down the game which has all-side dodging and stuff for a reason.
Check out these guys:
This has been discussed multiple times and an ANet dev gave a very sensible comment on the design; in short a) it should allow both playstyles – casual and speedrun, “fun” and “efficient” – for different kind of players, b) not all events are designed to be “kill everyone on the map” and are meant to be skipped and require skill to do it. Don’t have the link at hand, somebody may post it if they have it.
Actually hoping for a click to start a movement so that no Holding of any buttons are required to continue the movement and movement stops at the clicked position.
There’s the® Autorun button. As for “clicking for the place to go”, I see a lot of exploitability here.
