Lishtenbird, can we please get a link to this commen?
You can get the link to the comment by clicking the bold author name in the quote here:
Hi Lishtenbird,
Yes, this isn’t the correct forum. But I went ahead and inquired internally here to someone who might know. In short, this can be considered a bug, but one that is not easy or fast to fix. There is a desire to address this along with some other improvements to the tool tips of transmuted items. But there is no ETA for this.
…which is neither underlined nor coloured so not many people can guess that it’s even clickable.
However I should note that since that forum is the wrong forum, I would advise not to abuse the good will of Stefan by asking him any other questions regarding this problem.
If someone thinks the chat is really quiet… what are they going to do? They don’t know about the option. They’re just going to think the game is dead. No one will tell them why things are quiet, because it’s quiet for them.
What exactly this thing blocks, again?
This:
Added a chat option – enabled by default – that shows only the messages coming from players sharing your client’s text language.
I can point out the problems with this solution even without trying it out.
This is a lazy solution to a larger problem. I would suggest they admit megaserver is a fail and try something else (districts).
Agreed. This is a lazy solution but not as lazy as the current one.
I agree that people from different language servers shouldn’t be mixed together in the first place. I also agree that there’s no point in always mixing in a whole map crammed with people (apart from the “lower server costs” reason, that is).
Added a chat option – enabled by default – that shows only the messages coming from players sharing your client’s text language.
Though the idea sounds right, the implementation is far from perfect, as it naturally leads to
The other problem is people not aware of this feature. Having this option enabled by default will lead to less problems than disabled by default, but not eliminate them:
I would suggest adding a more extensive control of preffered languages in the Options menu instead:
This system may not be perfect (and at least requires a clear message to indicate its presence), but at least it allows more control over languages than the current implementation.

he transmuted gs with gs, and a back with a back. He made the connection because both of them dont work in magic forge anymore
Oh, my bad for not reading the post thoroughly.
I have no idea how you managed to transmute a greatsword and a backpack, but you’re better writing to support – they’ve been offering transmutation splitters via in-game mail. However you should better have a really good explanation for them to consider it
Yes I’m turning the option OFF I want to read messages from all the servers and I don’t care if they don’t speak English as their primary language.
That’s why it’s an option – for people like you to turn it off.
While we, the people who already have English as a foreign language, have an option to turn other worlds off and save ourselves from everyday borderline unreportable language racism.
Hey guys, I managed to get an answer from another forum:

So in other words, this will likely be fixed once devs are done with game-breaking bugs like non-resetting daily resets, crashing PvP arenas, bugged world bosses and broken iWarden.

Thank you for going the extra mile and checking it out! It’s next to impossible to get any kind of response in the main forum at the moment. I’ll go deliver the info now.
I’m pretty sure, that this is the intended behaviour. The pres happen more often than the final event. Have a look at the world boss schedule to get the spawn times. The same happens at the Frozen Maw meta, by the way.
We’ve done this on timer 3 times, and 2 times (yesterday and today) I did it myself. The event just stalls at the defence phase – asura guys just don’t come.
Ya, you guys found it before I could document it. Was part of the item “name” fix and a result of the wardrobe feature. I’ll get some documentation up on the API wiki today (unless someone beats me to it).
As you can see it isn’t very interesting yet since you can only cross-reference skins that are the ‘default_skin’ of certain items. But will be more useful once we ship APIs that show personalized items, such as the /characters API.
Stefan, you might not be the right person to ask it, but…
Could you tell us if this problem (transmuted weapons receiving name from stats item and not skin item) is a temporary bug or an intended change? We, the aesthetics-driven people, are really saddened by this change and would appreciate any official news. Thanks!
There’s another bigger thread on the subject here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Transmuted-Names-REDO
I haven’t seen any mention of this being a bug.
As I usually prefer Grove to other cities, I also noticed it. Would be happy if at some point we got more sylvari armour.

I think because of the backlash they have had daily’s like that recently to appease those unhappy with the change, thing is, yeah they may be easy to get, and can be gotten in the course of play, but if its the same things every day then they will get stale really fast and it won’t have the feeling of completion.
It just seems like a step backwards to me and as someone else said, I don’t see any positive side to this.
Not saying that you’re wrong, but I would actually prefer to have those permanently. Too many times I had to go to some 1-15 Ascalonian map and look for random events late at night just to finish the last daily – and that was neither fun nor accomplishment; it just felt like a job.
To say the truth, neither of previous dailies were of any challenge to me. Aquatic Slayer was time-consuming and frustrating, map events were too restrictive… A lot of people asked to make dailies feel more natural, and those four have it as natural as possible – and you just have to throw in something different as a 5th one. If those 4 actually stay there every day, I will be happy as it will make my dailies a lot less of a chore.
I cannot agree that the same autoattack spam for 7 minutes instead of 2 minutes is harder.
Wurm. I always enjoyed the control part (Summoned Husks) – all those pushes-pulls-immobilizes which I could throw to slow them down while others DPSed the boss down. This time I got overwhelmed by trashmobs which scaled from the zerg, but nevertheless, the wurm went down fast enough to make my control attempts useless. It’s a pity this mechanic doesn’t work anymore.
Megadestroyer, yesterday evening. I’d say it turned out overcrowded, and there were enough people from non-English speaking servers to make me feel uncomfortable. The pre events had too little mobs for that amount of players – you had to be fast to kill anything and sometimes were simply late to tag, so overall I felt like I didn’t matter and could simply AFK as well. Can’t say anything about the boss itself because the defence part bugged out and I didn’t have a chance to kill it.
Here’s a thread for posting your screenshots from the new world boss events!
Feel free to post an image and share your experience, like:
Please remember to:
Protip: use “Preview” to upload several images into the same post instead of creating multiple posts.
Rewriting AI requires a lot of human resources in the initial phase and server resources once implemented.
Adding 10 more portals, tons of trashmobs and a giant HP is, on the other hand, easily achievable and costs far less in terms of CPU time.
Simple answer: no, I don’t think it’s right, but it’s the way it is.
It means that when people repeatedly ask you to fail the defence event in the mapchat, you should consider failing it, because it’s been altered for Grenth and Melandru only and you will NOT defeat the Risen Wizard (clear requirement in the trait description)
XIII Defeat the Risen High Wizard and secure the Promenade of the Gods.
even if you complete the defend event 100 times.
those stupid bladeshards are taking up too much space
Well, having LS currency overflow your bags is one way to encourage you to buy more bag slots and bank space. The thing that makes it worse is that those are now permanent but not collectible.
Meanwhile I can suggest making several alts if you have free character slots, getting them cheap bags and using those as storage mules. At least that’s what I and many people are doing for stacks of ascended mats which can’t be put into personal storage guilds.
Please don’t say “Fixed in the next iteration”. At this point you might as well replace “in the next iteration” with “someday”.
I really hope that “Never tell anything in forums” will not be the lesson learned from the mesmer’s discontent about the missing “promised” fixes.
So, anyone tested anything apart from the fixed Phantasmal Haste and (presumably) fixed Illusion of Life? And I haven’t really seen complaints on other bugs listed in the release notes actually.
Asked multiple times, no answer from devs, short answer: Soon™.
The Megadestroyer event was bugged (judging by mapchat – at least twice) at the stage of protecting asura. All pres done, and then simply nothing happened.
I can only say thank you Anet for let me do world events before I would never complete.
Your mileage may vary.
I can not thank ANet for turning a dynamic world where each person’s effort mattered and an occasional failure was a natural outcome, into a timed mindless zergfest with 100% success rate where half of the players speak different languages and can as well go AFK.
I didn’t write down previous dailies, but it looks to me that
PvE dailies are now in the list on a permanent basis. Am I wrong?
There’s such a simple solution to it…
Condis viable in PvE, condis not dominant in PvP. Here, I fixed it!

After trying out the world bosses yesterday, I can say that it’s not
GW2 NGE
but
Rebuild of GW2: You Are [Not] Alone.
…when you honestly believe that Renault named its car after Logan Thackeray.
…when you can start casting a skill while out of range but it’s in range by the time you finish it.
I just posted a similar suggestion a bit earlier: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Event-Fairy-Asura-News-Stone-In-game-Timer
I don’t use in-game gold to buy gems, so zero gold. I was merely stating that this is a way to get the runes out that works. If you want free options, that’s another matter all together. And 6 runes = 60g in game, which will just take forever now to get since nerfs.
Still a bad idea. 6 extractors are 1100+250=1350 gems, which is 1350/100*6.72g = 90.72 gold. 6 runes * 9g = 54, so you will lose 36 gold with such a procedure.
I’m merely stating that at this moment using an extractor, even not counting the cost of old gear, costs more than converting gems to gold and buying runes.
We’ve had Marjory’s, Kasmeer’s, Rox’s weapons in gemstore; we had Grenth hood in store – to name a few. All of those are connected.
We’ve had tons of LS skins as achievements, some as drops; we’ve had Scarlet’s rifle, Jetpack, Monocle, Wurm armour as drops; we had Dwayna, Balthazar backpacks – those all are not gemstore items.
I see no problem if from time to time we do have disconnected items in gemstore. After all, putting a reason for everything would turn the game into a complete reference mess.
Do you know where they discussed this kind of refund? I’d like to read up on it.

If they introduced a famous Tyrian tailor NPC which designed these armours similar to Evon who sells them, would those become more related to the game?
136 views and nobody cares?
The reason behind it is that most stats you’re talking about are useless in PvE, and are free to obtain in PvP.
In PvE we have the following stats:
Everything else is an illusion of choice which new players have until they’ve played enough to see that condition damage is not viable in PvE and healing scales horribly and is not really needed anyway because the best healing is a dead monster.
So the stats you listed are mostly useless (celestial were ok for eles and engis but not so much after the ferocity nerf), so (next to) nobody cares if they exist or not in the first place.
I used the extractor from the gem store to get traveller runes out of some armor i don’t use anymore. Works great.
The fact that they have nerfed farmers, nerfed hardcore content timing and discouraged organized raids show that GW2 has shifted towards the casual player side.
On the other hand, they definitely made leveling harder with traits at 30 and Obsidian Sanctrum and level 50-80 personal stories to unlock traits. Which is pretty puzzling.

With the current world boss timer system but respective event chains still active, a part of the gameplay became really messy: you have to open a browser page with a schedule each time you want to do a world boss, then find a time, then convert to your timezone while taking account of DST. Or you may waste time on doing a pre-event chain for abysmal reward which ends with nothing simply because you didn’t know that bosses were changed.
I’m pretty sure at some point someone will rewrite gw2stuff.com to display active world bosses, but playing a XXI century game with a clock and a paper is not really fun.
That said, I would like to suggest a way to display active and upcoming world bosses in game. Possible options are:
In the meanwhile, I would appreciate it we at least had an official AJAX webpage with live schedule.
This way people who’re not used to digging up forums will at least be able to plan and organise – just like you wanted them to when you were talking about the megaserver system.
P.S. I’m opposed to the new fixed world boss schedule as a whole as it leads to zerging and lack of choice, but since it’s not going to be changed, I’m looking for ways to make it less frustrating.
P.P.S. I hope this topic deserves a separate thread, but if doesn’t – well, so be it.

I also would’ve preferred a UK flag for English in LFG. I saw those USA flags yesterday and got confused every time – it made me feel I was going to join an NA server group
ouch
not top priority?That is…
Many things which involve QoL improvements are not top priority because:
tl;dr: it’s a pity we don’t get many QoL improvements, but we really need the core game to always work and we really need something to fund the game that it keeps running.
Well, I was at least hoping for a “Use/open all” function.
Added 163. “Close all” function for event reward medal alerts (probably as right-click to dismiss all). Those medals like to stack a lot (especially in EoTM) and take up space on the right side of my screen, and it’s not like there’s something new I’m going to see there.
Previously suggested and listed as 43. Ability to tie armor sets together for 1-click switching. by me in this list. But it’s not a top priority at the moment, and likely will not be for a long time.
This is intended because of the Megaserver rollout because the server doesn’t know on which map you’ll turn up.
Every contestable waypoint on other maps than current is now always displayed as contested. You have to port to a map and then pay a 2nd time for waypointing to it if it’s uncontested.
I am not a new player who just bought a new game. I’m an old player who has to buy gems to make the game survive.
The patch did next to nothing good for me as an old player – I have all my looks and dyes gathered already, most bugs I’m utterly tired of never got fixed, I don’t like PvP.
On the other hand, the game completely messed with things I enjoyed – world bosses, especially doing them with medium to small groups; the waypoints are a pain now; the Orr events turned into camp-the-map-and-hope-those-PuGs-fail-this-event-finally; zergs everywhere, even in cities, is discouraging; on the other hand, the light-minded source of T6 materials on the market which made supply higher and prices lower AKA Frostgorge train is in danger; the daily options have been cut down in half so I’m practically forced to do specific things if I want a laurel; my weapons got ridiculous names. See, I don’t even mention the zerk nerf – it’s not the thing in question.
Am I happy? No. Will I support ANet if I’m not happy? No, and the recent gold-to-gem conversions instead of cash-to-gems are the direct consequence. Will there be enough eternally happy new buyers which pay enough before leaving to make the game always go forward? No, because new players are a finite number.

How many world bosses did I beat yesterday?
Zero.
I looked for a timetable, tried to convert it to my zone with all those daylight savings and what not, hopped zones… With no bosses to do I zerged some champs in Orr while waiting for people to understand that they should fail Arah defend event and got wiped around 4-5 times at Grenth which scaled so high that the whole fight turned into “hit 2 times – die – run back from waypoint”. I ran one dungeon (not the one I intended because CoF was open on the map view but closed on the map itself), then did what looked like a Wurm pre but turned out not.
Was it fun? No. But if that was a method to reduce the amount of ecto one person could get per day, they definitely succeeded.
And yes, being packed like sardines in the Grove was not fun.

… store far less data inside templates when those happen.
THIS excites me
Are we going to be able to store templates? That would really be a big big step!
No ETA on templates. However, the new build tech brings us muuuuch closer than before.
This being fixed soon?
