I’m somewhy fascinated by an idea of a hammer mesmer, so here’s a concept!

Hammer Mesmer: similar to GS, an originally melee weapon working as a ranged weapon.

Skill 1: Smash your hammer to fix one random mesmer bug.

Skill 1: Hammerball.

  • 1) Use your hammer to launch at your foe a ball of chaos energy, which bounces up to 2 times between foes and causes damage and confusion.
  • 2) Send one more bouncing ball of chaos energy which causes damage and chill.
  • 3) Send a larger ball of chaos energy which explodes for AoE damage in 240 radius with increased damage per each target for each foe present in this range (limit of 5 targets).
  • 30% chance of projectile finisher.

Skill 2: Chaosshift.

  • Smash the ground with the hammer at current location, leaving behind a clone and a ring of chaos energy uncrossable to foes for a short time while teleporting to target location.
  • Blast finisher.
  • No combo field type.

Skill 3: Phantasmal Hammerknight.

  • Summon a Phantasm which drops on foe from above, causing AoE damage, vulnerability and daze.
  • Affects up to 5 targets in a small radius.
  • Phantasm is rooted until its skill is recharged, than it gives a visual cue and repeats the drop attack.

Skill 4: Triwhirl.

  • 1) Summon 3 stationery whirling illusionary hammers in a large triangle form around you, which last for 10 seconds each but knockback touching foes at a cost of 1 second in duration.
  • Allies in the triangle receive protection boon. If one of the hammers vanishes, the triangle effect is gone.
  • 2) Counter by exploding hammers, dealing AoE damage and ripping stability and swiftness. 20% chance of blast finisher per hammer.

Skill 5: Illusionary Fortress.

  • 33% reduced movement speed while casting.
  • Block up to 5 attacks or projectiles while casting.
  • First 2 blocked attacks cause cripple on attacker.
  • Next 2 blocked attacks cause weakness.
  • Last blocked attack rips stability off nearby foes, launches them (limit of 5 targets) and grants 2 seconds of distortion.

This is what I believe the developers need to do in order to fix this bug:

During burn phase, when Tequatl’s healthbar reaches 50% or 25%, Tequatl needs to become invulnerable so the game properly goes into battery phase.

It can also work as Jormag, regens health which goes past the threshold (like, 45% back to 50%).

So, no change in blade shard vendor? Would make sense since they added other things to other merchants.

They can’t at this point. They’ve basically screwed it up very very hard and cannot correct it.

If they do introduce better stuff, they’ll have to reimburse everyone for their blade shards. That’ll be a CS nightmare.

I just couldn’t imagine developer reviewing the content that actually plays the game looking at this and going ‘yep, 5 star, 10.5/10, its perfect, players will love this!’.

They did it for festival tokens. Yes, tokens are farmable in an easier way, but blade shards are also technically farmable, so that’s a valid excuse for CS.

We Needed Silver And Gold Blitz Achievements!

Lishtenbird.2814

Ugh, no thanks. I remember the Six Minutes to Knightfall achievement. I’m glad that we didn’t have a similar achievement this time around.

If we want to encourage people to aim for Silver/Gold completion, then we should make it so that more delicious rewards potentially drop from those.

We had “chances” for good loot during Escape for LA, Holo and AFAIK we also have them here; my experience says that these chances are so rare that people don’t care for those (I didn’t receive anything “chacy” for grinding those events either).

Again, why are you “glad” you didn’t have an achievement for something which is a part of a successful run, but prefer achievements which hurt those who’re doing the event? Why are people so maniacally afraid of seeing anything which they can perform with less than 95% probability rate?

they happened before megaservers, so it was still somewhat doable to organize

People are successfully taxiing each other via LFG (“Taxi for Silver/Gold Blitz on me, 80 no upscale”; “LFG commanders for Gold Blitz”). Megaservers made it harder for mega-guilds, but dynamic guesting made it far easier for everyone else.

I dont’ care if they added an achievement or something like that. The reward are already good enough for gold.

I’m saying adding AP won’t suddenly make all the random map which take 1+ hour to do the event better. Those random map still going to suck. And only premade maps can do it. Nothing will change.

And I’m sure it would. At least it would eliminate this part of the event which I’ve faced yesterday once again:

Me: – 2-3 more to Bandit, please?
Farmer: – Anyone wants to farm ogres for achi?
Me: – Would you come and join Blitz? We got only 2 bosses left!
Farmer: – I see Bronze. Anyone wants to farm ogres?

They’re already being shown what to do, and it’s clear it’s not “ZERG EVERYTHING” yet that’s exactly what happens every time. When players are taught from level 1 to 80 that the best way to defeat content is to zerg it, I honestly have no expectation they’re learn differently when an event’s clearly designed to be anti-zerg with it’s scaling design. I have zero faith, tolerance, and pity for a vast majority of the players in this game. It’s killed off every time I go to maps like the Gauntlet and see the event at the bronze level and not one boss is dead yet.

I share your feelings completely, but I cannot agree with the reasoning of not adding productive achievements instead of counter-productive behind it. As for Bronze, I’ve seen bosses die one by one while I was doing Gauntlet – they can simply be done with a small roaming group.

-snip-

You make valid points regarding problems of tools for organisation.

Coordination – time to kill: yes, instead of TS and mapchat to coordinate 5% HP, we could’ve had HP bars of other bosses. AFAIK, we had those for Assault Knights, but they bugged out again and again and they simply removed them.

Coordination – suppression: had a separate thread here.

Coordination – languages: agreed, both mixtures and chat filter are a problem. But unlike home cities and WB trains, I see almost zero non-English-speaking people in Pavillion; maybe the language sorting has a very high priority here and it works.

Donations: a “reconfiguration timer” could be put to work around rushing donations:

  • 10 Minutes of Pavillion Reconfiguration timer before new donation event starts after Bronze reward;
  • 3 Minutes of Pavillion Reconfiguration after Silver reward;
  • 0 Minutes of Pavillion Reconfiguration after Gold reward.

Overall, I agree that tools to communicate are not optimal, there are also bugs like resetting Pyro and wonky scaling. There are problems of awful loot at the start with loot buff not communicated, too. But the event is doable and even farmable for Gold rewards with people who can read and listen, and I’m sure that shifting achievements to match the way the event was designed to be played is a good start to encourage players to do something better than zerg down ogres for several AP.

Answer: No, we don’t need more achievements for a near-dead meta event in a near-dead instance.

I dont’ felt I did anything challenging. I take my time to join an elite map. That’s challenging?

The most challenging part is have the patient to wait 30 minutes in queue for the elite map. I suppose I’m not challenging enough for that.

You’re telling you were not doing anything challenging because you are a person who okay with being carried. Not doing anything challenging implies not trying to do it, and that’s not a content problem, that’s a player problem, sorry. Can you type “turret” (to attract people) with several mistakes (not to get suppressed) in a second (not to get downed)? You can, but you won’t – others will do it. Can you throw seeds in the correct place while staying alive? You can, but you won’t – others will do it. Can you provide good DPS without dieing? You can, but you won’t – others will do it. Can you coordinate boss health in the map chat? You can, but you won’t – others will do it. Guess what happens when you run out of others? People who can try to do it themselves – and get a level-up.

By the way, I like it how you call “elitists” the people who manage to beat content which you can only guest to.

Casuals hardly have an incentive to listen to anyone trying to organize. They cant get past the fact someone’s trying to lead them, which naturally means giving orders expected to be followed, and flip out and basically turn into a stick in the mud that says “I REFUSE.”

As for such “easy” AP being an incentive to cooperate, there are hundreds and possible thousands of other things to do to earn 15 AP that dont involve the utter crap outlined in my previous post. If I’m doing that event for the AP, I want 10 times the AP it gives because of the crap I’d have to deal with.

To top it off, you do understand why the term PUG is used in a derogatory fashion, right? Because that three letter acronym can be said with so much disgust that it’s extremely clear what group it’s referring to, and why.

And with your attitude, of course, things will improve… not. Unless from event to event ANet gives those PUGs the content they should try to beat and not zerg or guest to, things won’t change; unless they’re shown what they should do, they will continue running in circles.

I’m really happy that China started with this event – it sets a certain skill level to the LS – I believe it may result in a different community altogether. And I’m also looking forward to those AI changes which rumoured not so long ago.

Double Punishment in Reward for Boss Blitz

in Festival of the Four Winds

Posted by: Lishtenbird.2814

Lishtenbird.2814

I think this thread could do with less elitism. These are valid points, why should a player be forced to join a large guild in order to complete an event that is open to all? Why is temporary content supposedly designed for everyone so punishing and difficult for everyone to have a chance at completing? Maybe you like to play unforgiving and difficult games but this game is not advertised as being that game. Less condescension would be nice.

How many events in this game are “hard” at the moment? Teq, Wurm… Wait, that’s all. 99% of PvE is easy mode, almost everything can be soloed or done with people around you (thanks to megaservers).

Why are you “forced” to join a guild when you can have up to 5 and get into a non-rep one? Check in, ask people, join, check out. But hey, you don’t even need one if you’re against the idea. Go and organise it with your friends, friends invite their friends, and so on. Write on mapchat/forums/reddit to get more friends if you still need them. Here, you got 40-45 people for the event. Now read the guide and do it on 2nd try.

What, you want to solo everything? Do your personal story, do PvE, do Gauntlet (solo) and Labyrynthnthtn Cliffs (all group events done solo) but after that – it’s a Multiplayer RPG. You know you can’t storm Stonemist Castle solo, right?

So, you get a lot of soloable PvE and 2/3 of Living Story in soloable content. And now, what are those items which limit your progress and which you can’t get anywhere else than receiving Gold in Pavillion? Sorry, there ain’t any!

Rephrasing your post, “I think this thread could do with less casualism.”

Lishtenbird.2814

They’re temporary achievements, why bother making them harder than necessary? There’s a point to several of the achievements basically needing you to only be present and complete the event. Also, 15 AP. Woopdedoo. I can get more AP doing something I find more entertaining than trying to get 100 random as hell “I’ll do what the kitten I want to do instead of listen to you” people into organized groups.

Because the game is more than pressing 1, 1, 1? Because challenge is fun and getting rewards for Achievements and not “achievements” feels good (see Liadri)? Because this event is easier than Mario and Teq, and even those had their achievements?

And yes, the 15 AP had a [sarcasm] sign attached. Plus, you just made a really important point that actually told us why this is ok: 15 (or whatever number) AP for “elitists” is not a lot and can be safely ignored if they don’t feel like it, but 15 AP for “casuals” is a clear incentive to do things properly and listen to you.

I dont’ care about AP. If your a person that care about AP, you basically are already in TTS waing in a queue, or in some other elite guild.

See above.

Double Punishment in Reward for Boss Blitz

  • You do it properly, you get gold reward.
  • You do it with mistakes, you get silver reward.
  • You do it wrong, you get bronze reward.
  • You do nothing and simply wait for bosses to die from age – yes, you deserve nothing.
  • You try to do it again and do it wrong, you get bronze reward.
  • You try to do it again and learn enough, you get silver reward.
  • You try to do it again and master it, you get gold reward.

Seems perfectly fair too me.

You are unable to read map chat? Give away part of your reward.

You are unable to see the turret with large red swords and a buff icon on the boss? Give away part of your reward.

You’ve been happily running with your friends in Queensdale and now they can’t organise even 6 groups of 7 people by typing letters? Give away part of your reward.

You are unable to find a large enough guild which exists on every server and advertises often? (Reminder: you can join up to 5 of them.) Give away part of your reward.

Sorry, you’re out of rewards. Please try again later or improve your skills to, well, get rewarded and not presented with something.

So basically I have to stay in a queue to join the “elite maps”on taxi?

Please no. If any rewards is given, it should be given to people who are able to organize random maps. Which is of non existence, since most people are just waiting on taxi.

So basically, you’re against giving achievement points to “elitists” who tried to achieve something by organising themselves and taking the game seriously because that would encourage people to either a) try to organise those on their instance or b) learn the mechanics and look to help someone on another map, and instead are happy to “achieve” something for grinding X mobs?

We just tried organising a run with 5 commanders. We lacked non-AFK people who know how to read map chat which left after an organised server guild (instance hardcapped with people farming mobs) finished the events, and we failed in numbers. That’s not even Marionette, that’s simply ~7 people on each boss who can read descriptions and know what they’re doing. I then tried hopping 3 or 4 overflows asking for people who’re willing to get in an organised run; those were mostly dead and lacked alive people. But guess what… instead I got asked if I was going to organise a run for killing X centaurs for an achievement!

No, seriously, we’re not getting anywhere with such an attitude. If we had kill 10 centaurs instead of 50 and get Gold reward instead, those people who wanted me to lead a zerg for killing centaurs wouldn’t be capping the proper map and instead would’ve asked me to lead an event for (holy kitten!) another 15 AP.

Does anyone know what causes the Warden to not attack, i did the asura cube fractal twice this week and the warden NEVER!!!!!!! attacked in the last fight.

Tilted surfaces are the largest problem for Warden AI, and as you could see, Harpy fractal is almost 100% tilted surfaces. Just worst case scenario.

My guess is that it happens because of the inconsistencies in computing the distance from the middle of the target (the point where all projectiles fly to) to:

  • a) the middle of the Warden (which determines whether it should move or not),
  • b) the range to the Warden’s attack bubble.

When the pathing algorithm commands “ok, we’re near enough, stop!” but the attack algorithm commands “wait, we’re not close enough!”, the Warden bugs out.

Still, I had a staring Warden yesterday in the Gauntlet on a completely flat surface.

Exactly my thoughts. The rewards system in this game is getting worse not better.

After the reward buff the event got far more bearable – 6 champ bags in worst case scenario, more for silver (realistic with 2-3 commanders and some organisation) and more for gold (realistic with 6 groups and some people on TS). And people (some at least) are starting to understand the importance of splitting as well as the incentive to do so. Still, a lot of times it goes through the same pattern:

  • Zerger: Which boss first?
  • Me: You need to split in 6 groups.
  • Zerger: No, we need a zerg.
  • Me: 10+ people make bosses take 40+ minutes to kill.
  • Zerger: Any commander?
  • Dorito shows up.
  • In 10 minutes dorito disappears.
  • In the next hour, still 0 bosses are defeated.

you mean the system of killing all 6 bosses and getting 2 greens and three tokens? yeah because that’s fun right?

I agree that ANet has problem communicating changes, but if you’re using forums, you should have seen this: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/updates/Game-Update-Notes-May-20-2014/first#post4054065

6 champ bags + 40 tokens for bronze and 10 champ bags + 80 tokens for gold are quite ok. In a fairly organised instance getting 10 champ bags + 80 tokens + random tokens and gauntlet tickets from mobs every 15-20 minutes looks worth doing IMO, even with the gold sink.

We Needed Silver And Gold Blitz Achievements!

in Festival of the Four Winds

Posted by: Lishtenbird.2814

Lishtenbird.2814

Let’s face it: many people grind achievements in the same manner as they grind gold.

(I’m sure that) many people open the Achievements panel right after the patch hits to see what they’re supposed to, well, achieve. And here comes the problem!

They see:

  • Kill 50 X Mobs (3 AP each)
  • Kill A-F Boss (1 AP each)
  • Complete Event 10 Times (7 AP)

…which are typical zergfest achievements which require grind, but not skill. Yet, the event is anti-zerg.

People see these achievements and go farm them, and seeing no loot they are naturally getting irritated. They see no incentive in doing these events, and grinding mobs is a chore instead of fun. It’s actually, again, counter-productive – same as before in previous LS events.

Now, let’s imagine they saw these achievements in the panel:

  • Kill 10 X Mobs (1 AP each)
  • Kill A-F Bosses (1 AP each)
  • Get Gold Award in Boss Blitz 1 time (15 AP)
  • Get Silver Award (or higher) in Boss Blitz 3 times (10 AP)
  • Get Bronze Award (or higher) in Boss Blitz 5 times (5 AP)

What would this encourage people to do? Complete the event the way it was meant to be played!

Seriously, I’m surprised we didn’t have these achievements in place. One of the reasons for it as I think is casual rage which arises each time when so-called “casuals” are challenged with so-called “harcore” content, like Liadri, Marionette and 10 Minutes to Knightfall which are not that hard but still not all people can beat. Well, to those people I can say two simple things:

  • We have Megaservers now and overflows/low-pop servers are not an excuse.
  • You have 95% of “casual” stuff anyone can do; if you can’t and don’t want to try the other 5% – just leave it, you won’t die without 15 extra AP.

TL;DR: ANet, please encourage people to play the way you intended via proper achievement management which matches event goals.

I was, too, highly displeased with

  • unblockable projectiles,
  • perma-defiance.

The bosses have interesting mechanics which could’ve made different classes and CC types useful for different encounters, with skillful play making the fight significantly better; like, reflections on Pyro and Bandit, fear on Ogre’s hawks and Centaur’s stampedes. Instead, it looked like they dumbed the bosses down again to promote the zerker warrior meta, and to promote zerg 1111 spam by “Immune! Immune! Immune!” in a non-zerg event.

At least feedbacks and WoR work on adds – those help to an extent to counter poison volleys and such.

Mobs in Pavillion Drop (Almost) No Loot

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Lishtenbird.2814

That sounds a lot like event feedback, not bug reporting.

“mobs drop (almost) no loot” = not a bug.

“I feel the event poorly rewards effort/time” = feedback.

That is the explanation of the reasoning behind the post.

There are 2 kinds of bug reports. Reports of certain bugs:

  • The tooltip says “reduces cooldown by 20%”, but there’s no reduction.

and reports of possible bugs:

  • My friend got a chest from Assault Knight, but I didn’t. Is that normal?

But seeing how they buffed the loot yesterday, it’s safe to say that that was intended while the reasoning behind the post was sound.

Suppressed Messaging vs. "Smart" Bosses

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Lishtenbird.2814

I always hated people repeating the same thing over in chat. And a commander tag does not make you special. (Listen to me, I’m a commander, dawg.) – Saying stuff once every now and then won’t get you suppressed. If you are, then maybe its time to reevaluate and adapt?

Sorry, but no – it’s time for casuals/non-elitists/anti-elitists/zergers/lemmings/sheeple to reevaluate and adapt. ANet has repeatedly shown now that they’re trying to turn LS events into anti-zerg open world raids, and people have repeatedly shown how miserably they fail to understand what is written on the screen.

You’re all talking about parties, squads and Teamspeaks… Yet people do not join parties or squads or TS (and we’re megaservered now, you know?), have their lang filter on, chat turned off, and are often even oblivious to things said to them in large floating in-game balloons. People eat their donuts on their sofas while watching Youtube and playing GW2 and still think that they will get everything if someone else does the job for them and they can just mash 111 to tag mobs.

Is it so hard to download and friggin’ listen in Teamspeak?

Is it so hard to attack the turret when you see the turret and the blue buff icon?

Is it so hard not to rush to other bosses and upscale them if you’re told to, and to stop DPS when you’re told to?

Is it so hard to not donate before teams get organised, or you’re so bored of waiting that you prefer to sabotage other 80 people who’re trying to get you gold reward?

Is it so hard to build left ram first and then right ram if you have supply as commander said, and not two rams to 50%?

Is it so hard to get the buff and switch DPS/condi when you see the Assault knights switch modes?

Is it so hard to not put light fields at Tequatl and stack on commander for double damage at cleave points?

Until a dominating part of players takes responsibility for the fact that how they play affects how many, many more other people play, we will need commanders who repeat obvious things in say balloons.

Suppressed Messaging vs. "Smart" Bosses

Ah….thx, Lish….did not see it….my apologies. Am surprised that not many people have responded to it.

Not many people even interested in the event that causes mostly frustration and is more of a gold sink than rewarding. Not many people interested in herding the zerg which was taught different things by ANet – you do know yourself that [good] commander to casual zerger ratio is ridiculous.

Got 2 gold rewards and 2 silver ones tonight… but organisation even with Teamspeak was long and tedious, and I could simply run several world bosses with more fun and with more loot in that time without getting constant “Suppressed!” when trying to help. Now I feel tired as if I was continuing my job instead of relaxing while playing… so yes, there’s just no point in doing it (unless you’re in a large perfectly organised mega-guild), so people don’t care – and most likely I won’t as well. It’s boring and unrewarding.

Why does ArenaNet hate farming?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Lishtenbird.2814

Lishtenbird.2814

And yes, a lot of farmers makes it helluva hard to buy anything valuable for any non-farming player.

I think it’s again time to quote myself from another now deceased thread:

I’m amazed at how short-sighted many people are: they’re happy at making other players suffer without understanding that those people were the ones who made their life easier by repeating monotonous task which the first players wouldn’t have to do. It’s like being happy at a limit of those dirty lousy yardmen – before seeing that they’ll have to pick up all the trash themselves now.

Fasalina, Nerelith and others who admit they haven’t studied economics, here’s a Wiki image.

The image shows an increase in supply – the price drops. When supply decreases, the price increases.

  • Let’s say we had 100 players who needed 1 charged lodestone per week each, which makes 100 lodestones per week.
  • We had 10 farmers who farmed 10 lodestones per week each, which makes 100 lodestones per week.
  • Let’s say the price got an equilibrium at around 2g.
  • After patch, we still have 100 players who need 1 charged lodestone per week each, which makes 100 lodestones per week – nothing changed.
  • After patch, the 10 farmers can only farm 5 lodestones per week.
  • When the first 50 lodestones at 2g are sold, the other 50 players still need 50 more lodestones.
  • Because they need these lodestones but can’t get them, they offer more for these lodestones – let’s say up to 4g per lodestone.
  • 10 other non-farmers see that the offers for lodestones got higher and decide to go farming.
  • Now we have 20 people farming instead of 10 people to provide enough supply of 100 lodestones per week, while players pay more for the exact same lodestones because otherwise the farmers will stop farming.

Result of the train-nerf which you’re so happy about? More people have to grind, more casual players suffer from an increase in prices. Both sides become unhappy (and eventually leave the game).

…and let’s not forget that world boss trains for ecto and Orr event farming for T6 also got nerfed.

Get More Gold!

Remember that you can exchange gems and gold at our currency exchange on the second tab of the Black Lion Trading Company! Currently, you can get 1 gold for about 15 gems and 50 gold for about 670 gems!

Did I answer your question?

I know about it, and that’s why I started a thread like this one

Not much else to say here, I’m afraid.

  • Step 1 of B2P game: at release, make players happy (so that they recommend the game) and let them farm (to produce enough gold out of thin air).
  • Step 2 of B2P game: let them farm until they produce enough artificially scarce items (supply) and a market for them (rich players – demand).
  • Step 3 of B2P game: start nerfing farming so that the only way to acquire the available scarce items (= to become “on par” with someone) for new players and casuals is to buy gems or invest a lot, a lot of their time, while also providing new gemstore items at higher prices to drain the gold from rich players.

Custom emotes aren’t suppressed I don’t think. So as a temporary workaround if you’re doing something like turret calling you can always just type “/emote Turret” or whatever the command is.

Do you think people will even see some short gray text in the chat? They even miss a floating “say” balloon often enough.

Hey there, Anet.

At the moment, we already have enough problems with community coordination due to

  • always full and never empty maps in megaserver system,
  • people with language chat filters turned on and unaware of its existence,
  • lackluster Commander system,
  • absence of in-game voice communication (not happening for understandable reasons),
  • message suppression.

All other things aside, the last issue is getting more of a problem since you’re delivering us more content which requires coordination, but you’re suppressing us while we’re trying to actually coordinate – thus playing it the way you intended!

This has happened before at Tequatl and Wurm, but you most likely had people on Teamspeak there… now it’s Living Story full of random people from different servers. We need to communicate there if you want us to play it your way, and calling out thing like “Conditions now!” or “Stop conditions, DPS!” or “Turret here!” or “Throw seeds!” or “Do not throw seeds under the boss, #;&!:!!” is part of it.

I tried being a turret caller yesterday at Boom-Boom… and I got suppressed really fast. I then had to spend crucial time to misspell the “trurrat” word each time instead of DPSing… And still got suppressed eventually.

So, what I suggest doing regarding message suppression:

  • Raise substantially or lift suppression threshold for areas which require coordination: Teq, Wurm, Marionette, Assault Knights, Hologram, Pavillion etc.
  • Raise substantially or lift suppression threshold for players who have a Commander tag acquired regardless of it being active or not, because detagging is often crucial to avoid the lemming effect.

To further facilitate communication you also can:

  • Turn off language filter by default. People will tell each other you can turn it on eventually.
  • Provide Commanders with more abilities, like assigning sub-commanders (would help in events which require either zero or 5-6 tags – see Mario, Pavillion) for a limited time even being detagged themselves,
  • like different colors for commander tag icons,
  • like pre-set commander chat commands (“Turret!”, “DPS!”, “Repair!”, “Build!”, “Stack on me!”, “Fire fields! No light fields!”, “Blast water fields!” etc.) which could be assigned to buttons (numpad?) and rapidly delivered to players without having to type them each time, especially if Latin is not your main keyboard layout.
  • Think of a system to temporarily demote people who tag up when they shouldn’t (and thus drive away the lemming part of players from correct objectives); it may be a kind of very transparent or bad-colored tag as a semi-measure.
  • Think of reworking the squad system.
  • Introduce a user-side right-click anti-spam report system which would activate a message suppression algorithm (no, not just suppress everything) to deal with real chat abusing (preferably usable on emotes as well).
  • Lift mail restrictions on things like potions in parties and message restrictions in non-local and non-map channels.

got a decent team of 70 ppl together last night, we got gold on the blitz event 12 times in 2 hours, I ended up with over 100 champ bags for this.

Working as intended.

1) Now add the other 8-18-28 hours of not “decent” teams, and get 100 champ bags for 10-20-30 hours, not 2. Now subtract the average “donation” (10g or so?) per each try per person. Does the median still look good to you?

2) How exactly your own skills corresponded to the reward? How did individual skills of other people in the map correspond to their rewards? Were you/they carried? Were you/they sweating to explain tactics to everyone? Were you/they donating in-game gold to get some of it back? No, I do not think this is working as intended, but answers to these questions may determine your perception of the situation.

Hey guys,

  • discussing skills which behaviour seems illogical enough to be considered bugs is fine in the Bugs subforum,
  • but discussing balancing issues and other classes’ skills is derailing the thread and is a sure way to getting it closed for being “exhausted” and “bumped for no reason”.

Back to the topic;

I noticed in the Labyrinthtmmht Cliffs today that Portal got reset on character death. Has it always been the case?

People fail to see the fact that getting Gold Reward (killing all 6 within 8 minutes) gives a decent reward.
8 Champ Bags and chance of getting exotics

It is very good content with decent rewards, which makes it a fun thing to do.
If you are looking for most efficient way to make gold, then don’t bother.
But if you are looking for content that challanges you not to only use skill #1, but also to think and content that gives decent rewards… then the Crown Pavilion is the place to be.

Sorry, I hope you take it without offence, but your nickname and your post make sense together

And yeap, by no means I think that 6-8 champ bags after 8 minutes of frustrating killing + many minutes of organising mindless zerg into something more or less pretty (tried that today) + being constantly suppressed while trying to herd the cats + having to spam people who can’t read to detag for the sake of success and after having to pay to start the event is decent rewards, because “decent rewards” is a run of CoF p1 during the same time.

And nope, I’m not a QD farmer and not a 111-warrior.

Cheers for anti-zerg philosophy

Yes Headlines are only 40 characters long. This would be more descriptive headline:

“Cheers for new Pavilion event style” Right? It fits, it tells all, it is more descriptive for headline than “Cheer for anti-zerg philosophy”.

Nnnope. The “Cheers for new Pavilion event style” tells that “pay in-game gold to start event”, “extremely poor rewards for all tiers, especially lower” and “splitting the zerg in 6 groups” are all good. Yet the OP’s title “Cheer for anti-zerg philosophy” states that “splitting the zerg in 6 groups” is good only, which is backed by the post itself telling us “I personally do not care about loot but many people do and won’t play this awesome content unless rewards are made on par.”

I dunno, no one thought about what would happen if they dps Tequatl quickly? Sounds like they haven’t tested out their scripting system enough.

Aaaaaaaaand another one. I was killing a golem which was 1/2 in water. I have created the illusions while I was on the land, the illusions where in the water because the golem was 1/2 in the water and the illusions where not attacking. So Berserker Illusions if are cast in the water are useless, they just stay there.

That’s an old one. Land illusions apparently can’t swim; well, it makes sense for me to an extent.

Well, getting rid of all mesmers is one way to deal with mesmer bugs. No class = no bugs.

As for the “thank you” post, I have mixed feelings about it; we’re grateful for getting back something that wasn’t supposed to be taken from us, like with exploding illusions on stealthing targets, at the cost of panicking, spending time writing on forums and having people out of the game? That feels weird.
