When I see the necro forums all I see is “rabble rabble rabble rabble”!!!
I keep seeing people talking about how fire is not very necro like, and that’s why we shouldn’t have access to it.
I have to disagree.
I haven’t seen a creepy robed cult guy not carry a torch around. Guardians have access to a blue fire, why not give us access to a black fire.
I know this will prob not happen, just wanted to say some black falmes would kick kitten.

I made a thread about him and his port glitches a few weeks back.
He can, if used correctly, get you into all sorts of interesting places.
I plan to make a PvP video of all his uses.

I wanted to discuss the flesh worm in tpvp. I am a r40 necro who has a lot of success with power and condi builds. Since beta I have been running spectral walk for my stun break and retreat( for power & condi builds), until recently. I have now fallen in love with flesh worm.
I always new flesh worm was good, but was always hesitant to take it because of how buggy the port is. But in high lvl tpvp resetting fights is vital, getting out quick, rejen, and jump back into the action. Spectral walk is not sufficient when it comes to this tactic. You might be able to pull off some jukes, but a lot of the time you will go down.
Knowing where to put flesh worm is vital because of how glitch it is. You have to test it on many areas on all the maps to use it to full effect. But after I mastered flesh worm, I don’t think I can go without him on my bar any more.
He is the best get out of jail card we have, hope necros start seeing that.

Weakness needs a buff!
-75% endurance rejen would suffice.
Necromancers are supposed to be masters of attrition. So let’s think of ways to buff the class in that regard.
Our cast times are to slow, and in a long fight we will fail many of them.
*War horn daze should be instant cast like the thiefs daze, so we can stop heal.
*focus 5
*dagger 3
He have no access to vigor or block, that wins attrition fights.
Life steal is bad and doesn’t make up for this.
Side note. Make staff marks scale better with power

If you’re going Daggers, you won’t be standing far away to do damage, so you’d be wasting a trait, not to mention I’m not positive why you want 20 points in Curses if you are going dagger power.
Wt f, This guys power dagger build goes 20 into curses lol-
Anyways, Targeted wells is viable, and actually used to be the most played necro power build in high lvl tpvp. Necros would drop there wells and go through there staff rotation then lich form to devastate team fights from a distance. After lich run in and finish off people with dagger and plus your wells will be up again.

It would be to op IMO. Sounds good though.
High vitality necro with plague Sig taking cover and epi himself with out the risk of getting hit. plague copies condis pretty far, epi hits people from a good distance. after that land a putrid…
These few changes would fix the necromancer
*staff’s marks are large by default( but not unblockable/ put this with staff mastery trait. This alone would open up many builds for the necromancer.)
*make staying in death shroud worth while!!!
As it is, staying in death shroud is never a good idea. Good necros dance in and out of ds to get stability/weakening shroud/rental/fury, doom and to take some burst. The traits that promote staying in deathshroud are weak and never worth it ( aoe vul/ 15% speed lol). Rejen doesn’t or any healing doesn’t work while were in ds either. The DMG reduction on life blast at 50% should also be adjusted, or lb to be buffed in general.
*just buff some of our traits. A lot of our traits are lackluster if you comepare them to other classes.
Might at 25% health? 25 into spite
100 power if you have 90% health? 25 pts into BM
100 power if you have 50% Lf? 25 pts in SR
We need something that helps us be that attrition class we were meant to be.
Like the idea, but not sure devs want us to have any more mobility. It sounds a bit confusing also.

Lol yeah its way more effective then HGH. That vuln factors in way more then the condi engis bring to the table with p/p nades.
I have seen way to many tpvp vids of might stacking necros owning it. And theres way to many top teams who bring a necro.

you’re right, I find it funny that some complain about hgh while I can get 25 stacks of might on my necromancer without really sacrificing much. 1 adept trait, 1 utility, 1 sigil vs 1 grandmaster trait, 2 utilities and a heal, 1 sigil and appropriate runes. go figure :palso, correcting something said above, sigil of battle and sigil of strength share cooldowns. it’s not a good idea to use them together.

First of alL, any good necro knows spamming life blast is never good because of how life force degeneration works. You are supposed to pop in and out of ds.
Not only that necros start matches with 0 life force.

As for the build, if you want to see it in action, contact me ingame. I will however tell you what the build focuses on, protection (Significant uptime of protection often nearing 60 seconds), blindness (Strongest condition in the game), and deathshroud (Constant building of Deathshroud to buffer cooldowns)
If you can replicate it from those 3 basic ideas, then you should be fine. It’s not a complicated build, but once again, I don’t share it with many people based upon the original player’s fears.
You can not get 60 sec of protection.

Spectral Attunement + Spectral Mastery + Spectral Wall alone gives you a base 15s protection on a 32s cooldown. Spectral Attunement also increases the duration of protection on Spectral Armor.

mostly from knockdowns and knockbacks.
Plauge signet, Spectral armor, Spectral walk all seem to fail A LOT when it comes to knockdowns. When i press a stun breaker it should pop me right up right?

I think a lot of us are holding back on this, Bas. I know I am because I know how Necromancers work. Any condition I throw at them they can either throw right back at me or convert to boons. And considering pretty much every Ranger weapon has conditions on them…yeah, they’re our natural counter class.

I would look into testing Spectral Attunement with Last Gasp first. Last Gas kitten till a fantastic trait, though.

Sure, I’m useless. But if my minions are still around, that is the majority of my DPS and survivability running around. The only thing Moa takes from me is CC and burst.

MOAH FORM TURNS OUR MINIONS INTO BABY MOAHS. THEY CAN NOT ATTACK AND CAN STILL TAKE DMG.
Good stuff right? Not to mention seeing a line of baby moahs behind you would be adorable.

Has constant rejen/ great protection uptime(well proc/last gasp/rune proc/45% pro duration) / 2300+ toughness with great condi manipulation. Wob heals for around 12000, plague form has extra bleeds and rejen from mark of evasion. Not to mention crazy LF gain.

But i cant stress enough how bad vital persistence is(and well known by necros). Good death shroud management is what sets the bad necros from the good necros. As a necro you never ever want to be in death shroud for a long time because of how the degen works(poping in and out doesn’t even cost lf). You need to pop in and out to soak damage/stability incoming cc/stomp/use the skills. If your using ds properly vp will not matter. Path of midnight would be a far better choice.
How about change death nova into putrid ground. I think this change would balance MM completely.
I like these kind of builds although I have not found they are not that viable in tpvp. But if you like the build rock it.
A few suggestions though.
1. Runes of ranger are better than eagle ( its 5% DMG all the time. You don’t need a companion.)
2. Vital persistence is a bad trait. Take path of midnight or unyeilding blast.
3. I believe you would benefit much more from soul marks in this build rather than master of terror.
4. This one would be my preference. I would take well mastery over vampiric rituals. Getting out your two wells more often would have more of an effect then the siphon.
By the way, the 3 builds that I’ve posted are merely 3 viable ones that I recently came up with. I have 34 builds in total that I’ve theory crafted, and out of the 34, 22 are viable in tPvP.
God do your math right, there’s only 33,87.8 viable builds in tpvp
This build looks…………very fun.
Please don’t ever use staff in tPvP unless you run Greater Marks in Death Magic. Staff isn’t worth using without it.
Source – Over 2000 PvP Games as Necro.
Staff is also used for fear , condition removing and fast DS recharging.
“Greater Marks” are good, but they still can be evaded and they have bug’s.
? Greater makes is an absolute must for staff. do you understand how #4 works and how important it is to your teammates?
I am positive anet announced that gems would be a reward for winning tournaments months ago in a video they released. Can we get a response on what happened to this?
