I left guild wars 2 right before HoT was released. I was turned off by the price tag of the expansion(punishing old players, rewarding new ones etc etc), Anets balancing and decision making since the beginning….nope couldn’t buy it.

But i have been playing since beta before i quit. Thousands of hours and a lot of love for my Necro. I’m bored with my current games and wandering how old gw is doing.

Do you guys wish you moved on to another game? Or are you happy with the direction Gw2 has taken since HoT release?

they were nearly impossible to kill (the turrets) and could actually be used in higher tier to some extent.

they can be effected by POSITIVE conditions too…

MM is the most hard counted build in the entire game

Elixer X and Moah still make MM almost unplayable in PVP.

Still waiting for the change where your minions turn into baby moahs that can be killed, instead of destroying all minions and put your heal, all utilities and elite on full cooldown.

You miss the point of specialization. They are not meant to be stronger just a different way of doing stuff. Some are stronger by virtue of poor balance but they are meant to be different NOT stronger.

True, was just pointing out that base necro feels better in most ways atm.

I am still dealing with bugs that I reported during the Beta Stress test(June 2012).

Don’t hold your breath for competent balance and bug patches.

Dealing with some difficult bugs takes too many man hours. So they will make it a feature. Employees want free parking as well.

Is the most unforgiving class. No blocks, invulnerable, stability, vigor, or get out of jail cards that other class have built into their kits.

If you think a Highly skilled Cele Necro counters a Highly skilled D/D ele…..you really don’t know what your talking about. You have an idea in your head and your repeating it like a mindless parrot.

A good cele necro can destory bad ele’s but thats not what were talking about. Equal skill level is about a 50% chance of winning(what da hell is this!!! truuuth?). If you think that’s a hard counter…i wish you the best and hope you can live a normal life.

Our current trait layout makes power and hybrid builds more effective.

Condi builds have too many traits competing in the same spot. Terror or POC. Weaking shroud or Ling curse. Vital persistence? not if you want Master of terror.

It’s not working as it should. People are just being salty because of an anti-AI stigma. Fact of the matter is, it’s a poor design/coding issue and has been for a very long time.

Moa doesn’t kill:
Turrets
Spirit Weapons
Spirits
Ranger Pets
Clones/Phantasms
Banners
Elementals
Spawned Allied (Rock Dog, Bird)
Ventari Tablet

Things it does kill:
Minions

Stop being biased children and let a kitten bug/hard counter get fixed. It won’t even affect most of you.

It’s like Soul Marks is supposed to make marks unblockable, but they still get blocked. Us necros get these bugs that really affect our skills usage.

Its not necessary in PvE. If you are using the dagger build it literally only provides two things. Strength of Undeath and traited Lich. So depending on your groups optimisation you may end up dropping it for curses/blood. Spite is the mandatory line for PvE though.

I don’t use SR, but am making tacos and not interested in an ‘internet fight’. :p I’d be OK with a conversation about why I prefer it though.

Grenades are most effective when thrown at your own feet.

Machines can bleed and get poisoned

Can steal a lot of Life force from empty crates(could be filled with puppies, no coded corpses though)

Any skill with a very high telegraphed and long cast time will end up like killshot, 100blades, Churning Earth. Impossible to land on duels against smart players.

How about something like, “For every enemy hit after the first, gain 1% additional life force”

That way you’d still gain a fair bit in ideal situations (28%) but it wouldn’t be absurd. And I know we have other traits that need improvement, but better life force generation (especially for condi necros) would be stellar

I do agree better LF generation for condi necro would be great. I don’t think soul marks or staff should be changed though. They have already buffed staff a good amount, I would rather see:

Feast of Corruption(scepter #3) Make it AOE just like Unholy Feast(Axe #3)

Parasitic Contagion A percentage of your condition damage is turned into LF.

Sad thing that the Reaper elite spec is designed already, because this skill would fit the whole chill concept really well. And an AoE damaging invuln spell would just be great for a melee elite spec….

No coffin is better, I just know that casket is used more in NA.

Yeah would be cool. “Chilled to the bone!” seems okay, but easily countered with the 2 ct. I want to have reliable abilities that I can cast intelligently.

Too strong. Possible 60%-75% Lf gain spamming marks(mark of evasion as well). Marks cd/size now baseline.

Id probably try to alter some of our weaker traits. Soul marks is taken often as it is.

I know reapers are getting an aoe freeze, but I have always wished Necros had an active self freeze(svanir rune 6). A weak form of invulnerability that stays with our fun no mobility theme -.-

Something like this?

Ice Casket- become a block of ice for 3 seconds. When it breaks, damage nearby foes and chill them for 2 seconds(frost burst). Instant cast/17sec cd

What do you guys think?

I remember playing during beta STRESS test and trying to get bone minions blast finisher working reliably…….

years later……combo still activates seconds after the blast.

All bugs are features, they just haven’t updated the Tooltips yet.

3) Moa locks down 2 of our main builds (mm and power necro) I dont know why this still does what it does. It now gives even MORE benefit because its a passive until it needs to be used.

What an odd point to argue. Last I checked, Moa locked down all the builds on all professions. I fail to see how the Necro is particularly worse off.

It destroys minions.

^Worse off when a single skill can put your heal, all utilities, and elite on cd.

Well, if you run it with the axe trait, it will pop every time you enter death shroud. Of course, that’s not actually making it good. It is pretty terrible in comparison to the other two Spite grandmasters, but we can’t even get them to fix Dhuumfire and Master of Corruption, two traits that potentially make the skills they affect worse.

Just tested Uhholy Fervor(axe trait) with Spitful Spirit.

No decrease in cooldown or damage increase.

IMO sentinels amulet is better for a medic Necro. Healing power doesn’t effect how fast you revive someone. Also life from death is a very weak trait.

MM is like the old turret engi lol? I haven’t seen 3 MM on each team every time i play.

Pros-
-Great at 1v1 encounters(DESTROYS bad glass cannons)
-Bad players will have a hard time targeting you. Or target you first.
-You don’t die easily. Clerics/Soldiers
-Fun

Cons-
-Moa kills all minions and puts them on cool down. A bug that has been made a feature.
-Good players(also a bit class dependent) can kite minions, and ignore you.
-AI is bad. Minions will bug out and not attack, get stuck on a pebble, etc.
(Necros use a targeted ability for an “attack” button and will summon minions in battle for more reliable minions.)
-Terrible at team fights(aoe damage everywhere)

One of the things that excites me about HOT is a viable MM with *AI improvements.

*Minion AI upgrade only available with purchase of HOT:3

Here I’ll explain

You just don’t stop being wrong do you?

- Grenade Barage throws 13 grenades when treated, and mysteriously the tooltip goes from 6 grenades to 7 still (while in reality it physically throws 13, go throw barrage with and without it, you can see the kitten difference.)
- Only grenade 1-5 skills pierce, grenade barrage doesn’t even pierce, and only with the trait.
- Flash Grenade is the only skill that is affected by the pierce bug even when untraited.

Ron is better at the internet then you.

BUG: grenadier trait, makes grenade barrage throw extra grenades.

This bug has been exploited for too long. When engineers equip the grenadier trait, their grenade barrage does massive amounts of damage.

1 button can kill an entire team. No really it will kitten up everyone. Stack the effects for the most ridiculous thing ever in an mmo. At least from company like _net(uknow$).

PVP is unplayable cause people are abusing this bug like crazy to farm rewards and rank up. The thing is i don’t blame them. You give no kittens. None, not a single one.

This hasn’t been addressed for many days.

What are you talking about? For one thing, only a few select classes have access to block/invuln and other than Guardian no other class has block readily available. Secondly, how are you supposed to dodge a barrage in melee range? On top of that, how do you dodge a barrage on melee if the engi is stealth? You act as if this is a L2P issue. The real issue comes when someone is downed and you are rezzing. An engi can just straight up one-hit down anyone because of this bug. It’s a bug. It needs to be fixed, period. No L2P, fix the bug.
