It was in the edge of the myst open beta. The code was only working there. It’s not because it’s purple that it will be legendarie.
They never said anything about that, you just assume datamining is weapon that will be in game. You are just wrong.
There are so many weapons/armor/outfit that you can ping in game with a code, that will never be in game.
Look at this version of Bolt [&AgExwAAA]. I know you’re aware that it will never be in game.

PS : Be carefull with datamining, you can never know.

Vid from dulfy the week after devs announced they had some alt legendaries almost ready is quite explicit to me

The reason why they still didn t release them is the only question imho.
I have my theory about it (i.e. being related to new craftable precursors).
But this last is pure speculation.

I m saying that despite all you might say here, despite all the data that cannot be shown, despite all economists and stuff:

Something will change once the population start dropping enough or if devs are smart, once they start noticing the evident discontent of non tp players.

Sometimes ago, most players simply ignored the cause and just complained about the grind.
Now most of them start seeing what is the cause of unnecessary grind.

Warrior/guardians are the only winners forever.
You might want a single ele for FGS but you don t really care what else it does.

Its all about the skill floor/ceiling.
Warrior has the lowest of both and guard is not that far in pve.
You don t really notice if you have good or bad ones.

Current meta is based on the least use of skill possible.
And i doubt anything will ever beat heavy professions.
(even DPS ele is way dumber than any balanced profession…unfortunately its also more effective).

P.S. i recently leveled a war… is WAY easier than i thougt.

P.P.S. in the past we had fotm parties asking for 7000 AP (were a lot at that time) when Fractal basically gave no AP and no fractal player could have those much XD.

T10: players that goes on aggroing stuff following their usual routine and ignore chat.
I know some nice tricks (almost legit… or maybe not because requires to use tactics different from straight DPS) for fractal but some players tends to aggro before i finished writing “wait, let me pull”.

Well i recently got a warrior and equip it with proper zerk stuff.
When you are used to play ele or mesmer its ridiculously easier.

You almost never get oneshot (while mesmer is often and ele is Always) and this is a HUGE difference.
You don t have to set up reflects or combo stuff etc, drop your banner, and then 21112111211121112 (maybe 3 if you are low on endurance).

The best thing happened to this game was the mesmer new trait bug, and anet removed it from the gameand then they nerfed reflects.
We are not supposed to have fun.
Its all about autoattacks and 1HB (top dps builds for each profession have in common an extremely reduced use of skills excluding maybe some might stacking prefight).

Zerker is fine. Removing mechanics and tactics is not.

Please anet:
-revert powerblock PvE changes (this is active playing).
-revert reflect PvE changes
-introduce more mechanics like powerblock
-change defiant mechanic

No prices are not the same.
-T6 skyrocketed
-Ecto increased
-Precursors increased by a lot (crashed recently when unbinding was datamined and many 1h precursors magically appeared in the TP).
-T5 are possibly highest than ever were.
-Runes and sigils are extremely expensive

That makes basically 99% of top traded items by most players.

PvE nerfs reduced materials supply, not gold.

What i like the most is i hear economy complaints in game every few minutes in possibly any chat.
That means this broken system can’t go on like this for much longer, despite whatever you’ll say.

There are indeed lag spikes in every part of the game WWW, PvE mostly.
For some reason changing map/megaserver helps sometimes.

The curious fact is it hits just few players and not everyone in the same map.
But yet its still common to everyone in different occasions.

Its obviously server side and have been confirmed by many people in map and in my guild.

Almost every “boss” in the game can now ignore reflect world bosses, fractals, and of course dungeons, If they didn’t want us using that skill just remove it entirely. Imagine doing a fractal 50 with lava shaman knowing that your reflects won’t be able to reflect his infamous arrow lol.

Do people use reflects against his arrows? I thought it was against grubs.

When you are Killing grubs you want to avoid being hit by the Arrow ._.
Looking at both gribs and boss is quite difficult since the boss floats quite high.

The new staff was posted sometimes ago.
A stick with a translucent crow or whatever it was…
Imho really ugly, but many people liked it.
It was maybe fitting for necros and guardians, not for mesmers and eles imho.

I look forward to a new dagger and focus that imho are the skins we need more changed.

But i suspect (and that would be really awesome), new legendaries will be tied to precursor craftng and that is the reason for the delay.

Old legendary will stay like they are now, new will requipre a crafted precursor.

p.S. bifroost for ele is awesome, but the fact it replace every 1 skill is not appealing

1) I was not only talking about champ bags. Whenever people are done with a farming session they come out with more gold than they had before.

Sometimes i can t tell how people can still say TP requires skill ignoring simple things..
I suspect because it takes no skill (but its so boring that many people prefer playing actually the game).

Anet already nerfed gold from champ bags.
So you get mostly ITEMS and MATERIALS.
Since there is overall lack of supply of almost anything but leather thanks to new supply sinks everywhere, people is salvaging everything to keep the supply in check.

Remove the supply and the GOLD becomes just useless.

Its the same that happened during war: since you can t eat money, they lose their purpose, while food and useful stuff becomes the new value.

Market is facing the same.
Aggravated by TP players

First or after we will start exchanging stuff in “skins” or “T6”…as happens in totally broken economies.

Guys this is a mmorpg.

There is not much space from uberskill.
For how the game is designed, once someone succeed in something (this is skill) he can just post a vid on youtube and everyone will be able to do the same.

But you must accept that “farming” (not grinding) as stated in manifesto and many times from anet at the begining when this game was much better is good for a mmorpg.

I’d better have champion trains lowering the cost of crafting materials, that have the game depend on a broken TP that sees anything useful in the hand of few, and prices increasing even with gold scarcity…

Champ trains provided SUPPLY of materials more than GOLD.
Everyone would benefit from it.

Doesn’t take an economist to see that.

(maybe the same that decided silk requirements and promised they would do something about it…….).

Gold instead is being destroyed because is no more a reliable value.
Its becoming worthless even if rare because of TP.

We need farming.
We also need GOLD to be a reliable value, because today the least gold you have the safest your wealth is.
And this is NOT a natural phenomenon.

Its the product of continuos nerfs of supply everywhere and forcing the player to use the TP.

Or just keep lowering supply nerfing everything….. when you’ll push enough players out of the game even the demand will decrease.

Fractal Jade Maw Change?

Old change of 2 Patches ago (the dredge patch).
Someoene at anet may have thougt it was harder this way.
And maybe that is fun to be oneshot from stealth (you can time your evade but happens you will run out of endurance.. nothing to worry about since they don t respawn).

Possibly the same who thougt removing reflect from the game was a fun and skill testing idea.

They just moved a “clown car” from dredge to Jade maw.

Because rewards at 50 are so good that you need to make it longer (now jade maw unless you exploit it, its the longest).

Only at fotm 50 luckily.

Queensdale train was bad, Frostgorge was not.
My overall champtrin time is 1 hour since i found it extremely boring.

But they helped economy keeping T6 and ecto prices in check.
And i suspect this is the issue.

Gw2 is seeing some manouvers that seems to be addressed at changing game economy.

They first push grinding into the game (that is also a huge goldsink), then nerfs farming that ORIGINAL development team said many times it was a good thing, decreassing supply (you get more materials than raw gold).

They are destroying this game economy in every possible way.

I am only curious to know if its part of a plan or its just due to mistakes over mistakes.

Without the insane grinding, people would actually even enjoy pugging arah p4.

just joined a party of three rangers …lfg said new to dungeon… killed spider out in the open area their first try… then i joined a typical group and of course we smashed the spider in corner as usual… i never noticed any difference what so ever … first i saw of it was the op’s post

Unless you had 2 eles OR high damage and someone doing the pull in a certain way, you would ve wiped.

Now is a DPS test for pugs….Full zerk is not enough; you have more professions/build requirements.

Exactly the opposite anet should’ve done.

For some reason developers still are taking everything except direct damage out of PvE.

What about choke Points in WvW? That’s exactly the same as LoSing NPCs. Difference is SOME, not all, people in WvW know to hold up and wait for a massive push through the choke point. but either way it’s a strategic use of the environment to gain the upper hand.

Difference is you don t know if people will actually pass in the chocke point, will pop invul, will (and this happens often) send few stealthed mesmer to portal people on your back and whatever.

With the lack of AI you know boss iwll come straight in the corner instead.
The AI won t try to counterplay stacking.
And anet try to simply remove things from the game rather then adding risk to abusive tactics to make them balanced.

What anet do is called workaround and its usually used as a temporary fast solution before a fix.

Anet instead sees it as the fix itself, expecially when there is no need at all to hurry with a workaround doing more harm to the game than the issue itself.

Losing people who can only “play” Queensdale train and consider a week’s worth of dungeons “hard” to get full exotics for tokens, is definitely a good thing for this game.

Actually i miss the days where “dungeon speedfarmers” weren t in the game.

The game was more friendly, you could have fun, and skill was not mistaken with reproducing a video on youtube with the exact same build. (youtube posters were good, people copying it are not).

That was before this game tried to appeal to wow players :/

And this is the issue:
Players needs fun (dedication? is this a work?), you could have fun just helping new players Learning dungeons, because you didn t need to amass thousands gold.

It was a challenge to adapt and react party mistakes and save the day, it was a challenge…Something most players today can’t do at all.

Simply anet is giving credit to the wrong people.

Ele is mobile only if he wants to flee with a fgs, that won t work btw to follow your target..

Why not? You can use it to close gaps and then drop it once you have big skills up. What’s your point there anyway? If you’re chasing someone you shouldn’t need it anyway unless you’re running a build that can’t kill anything period.

Are classes other than warrior or thief outrunning you? Otherwise I don’t understand what you’re trying to point out about the 3rd most mobile class.

DD ele is no more the 3rd most mobile profession (and never was).
The BOON duration nerf changed it.
First of all you forgot ranger and engi.

But also Mesmers will be able to flee thanks to any short stealth skill.

You can still stay in fight with necros and guardians (that will just laugh at DD and ignore it since you don t play zerker).

But since 90% of roamers are warriors, mesmers and thieves, that alone says a lot about the viability of the profession.

And As said mobility is not the only problem.
XvsX is another.

I don t believe they hear to what people ask.

We have ascended stuff, We have mnerfed drops everywhere and took almost 2 years to fix a fractal.

They use the excuse to hear a small minority, but its an excuse.

Anyone would know why is wrong to make the FIRST dungeon so pug unfriendly.
They could do it for CoF or CoE, or whatever, but not AC.

The stacking issue comes exactly from their behavior of nerfing everything but Damage.

No reflects, No blocks, No CC, No blindness…
This issue is knew since years and never addressed, despite many things have been suggested.

(see turn defiant into a timer, like the righteous indignation, but only for CC and way shorter).

Without FGS you would see ONLY 5 warriors teams.

Once you learn, fotm 49-50 is way easier than 20-39
Most due to the fact people at higher level know what to do.

And a 10% is quite a lot given the cost of a wupwup light set.

But since last patch exotic became viable again.

one of the few things i never understood of frcatals.

I see most groups manage to kill the upper part of the ice elemental so it stops using its cripple/KD attack.

How exactly do you kill that?

Liadri is not and never wass a skill test.
Its a BUILD test.

If you can afford (or you are lucky enough to already have) proper sigils/runes/equipment, it will be easy.

If you can t, you will need lot of luck and perseverance.

A Full zerker ele with scepter/focus with XXX46 and a sigil of energy can kill liadrui quite easily.

A soldier will struggle due to lack of damage

Look at the buy orders. Definitely not overpriced if the demand is that high.

Earn more gold. That’s the only solution you have, or will be offered.

Sorry, farming is not allowed in gw2.

Oh I’m sorry. Please excuse me while I open the mountains of champ boxes I have and sell the sheer amount of rares that are overflowing my bags.

Also, what should I do with the 5g+ I make from doing wvw in one day?

YEah nothing to do with those fake orders put in place by manipulators…

Try this (worked for 1 year because someone defends this system).

Look at precursor price.
Look at how when it drops, a couple offers for 100-200 more golds magically appears.
(pushing the price near to selling price)
Notice how they disappear when someone tops it for few coppers.

Nobody would overbid for that much.

Oh and everybody knowsm people is putting thousands fake orders for few silvers, you can check yourself.

I was asking Saylu specifically to explain relating to our TP. I was curious if he was just parroting a phrase he heard as a cause or if he was mislabeling one type of activity as another. Since he hadn’t replied to that question, I’ll finally elaborate.

In general an individual speculating should have no impact. If I price all my sell orders for mithal at 1s it has no bearing on the current price. Same is true if I start to accumulate, gradually, well below it’s supply rate, an item whose price I think will skyrocket at a later date.

The problem comes when it’s en masse. Your wiki link, which I referenced myself in a post months ago about the dye balloon, is an example of players in a market chasing a price up. It’s a “Look, the Dukes are trying to corner the market on frozen orange juice, they must know something” moment. That’s when it’s bad. When supply drops within an hour to 1/10th of it’s previous levels, which causes a price jump and makes it a self fulfilling prophesy.

The “real” speculators were buying dyes during the month before that with little movement on the price. They sold within the first day after supply plummeted and prices shot up. All of those players who bought on patch day weren’t speculators and what they were doing wasn’t speculating in any sense of the word. Mass hysteria may be a better term.

I did say “Market speculation isn’t necessarily bad, excessive speculation is.” Someone already explain how market speculation affect price so I don’t think there is a need for me to.

I don’t think you answered correctly when I ask about inflation. Someone pointed out "Inflation is a sustained increase in the general price level of goods and services in an economy over a period of time. " which I think is more accurate.

An individual speculating have “little” market impact. An individual farming gold have little impact. When lot of people are farming gold, you will see a substantial impact. It is the same with speculating. Saying there is none is incorrect.

I’ll say it again
WHo tried to explain how speculation works are people abusing the economy.

But we have a clear proof they are wrong.

People farm more gold, prices increase.
Gold farming is extremely nerfed, prices increase anyway.

Dps ele is Tricky.

Needs a strong sense of positioning, and rotations to maximize damage.
Also needs to be able to escape thieves focus or other roamers near the zerg.

This offers reasonable time and tools to react, while dishing high dps (for www more than this you can just take a PvE build but i think its too risky).

But if you are new to the ele i suggest using this with some celestial or PvT pieces.

The most used dps build is almost the same minus 10 point in fire, that usuallu goes in arcana for elemental attunement (that i don t really like in this build).

The reason why ANet won’t do anything about flippers hijacking markets is because it benefits them greatly to see these higher prices. Remember that gold as a currency is tied to gems which can be purchased for real money. They hope to drive new players into purchasing gold in order to catch up which is exactly why they keep on nerfing popular farm spots.

Unfortunately this short-sighted greed is having an extremely negative effect on the game as a whole. Short of getting extraordinarily lucky a new player will have no way to ever compete on the market. They’re strangling their own game trying to squeeze a few more dollars out of it.

I don’t agree. The best result for the game and therefor the best result for ArenaNet is for the markets to work as efficiently as possible (usually). Fortunately, the nature of the trading post provides a lot of natural force for markets to work efficiently. While nothing is 100% perfect, the large majority of every part of the game’s economy runs incredibly efficiently and we put a lot of effort into making sure that they remain that way.

What exactly is going smooth?

Runes?
Sigils?
precursors?
Rare recipes?
rare skins?

What exactly?
those thousands of White/blue/green leather items?

How much longer can you still pretend economy is great just throwing random baseless statements?

What about doing something for the lack of supply for once?
Do you think is bad damaging greedy manipulations putting finally some REAL risk in this broken economy (only for excess)?

At that time people knew the difference between doing 4 Attacks for 8000 in 4 seconds or doing one for 32000 after 4 seconds.

Ele has also unreliable Attacks and slow CDs even on auto.
Reality.
Times you actually hit, some bosses are already have been killed by warriors.
Everytime you evade/heal etc, you lose lot of dps

To build offensively you die by a sneeze… (even a good ele placed in a bad Group will sleep on the floor, a warrior instead will carry the Group).

Warriors are taken over ele because if the guard is not good enough, ele dies to everything if you stack.

Warrior instead can do enough damage to kill its target, provide buffs and ress, and doesn t even needs to stop dps to heal.

If you have a good guardian eles are better than warriors (but warrior is still superior for offensive support).

If you think i countradicted myself you didn’t clearly read what i wrote.

What have both mesmer and thief builds, ele lacks?
They can go offensive because they have surviving mechanics.

Ele can ’t be built like pvp to be balanced.
You won t prevent your opponent to escape while you won t be able to escape yourself.

Opposite to what happens in PvP.

And in case of multiple opponents(and allies) they focus you because DD:

If tank does no damage
If DPS can t do anything to prevent a fast Death
If balanced is like dps.

You lack a role….everything you can think of is made better by more than 2-3 other professions…(except for zerging).

That would push any skin/precursor/wante ditem even more out of reach of normal players in the hands of TP barons GG.

A mix of both like its now is OK.

Look at champ trains, they gave mostly materials yet they got nerfed and now T5 and T6 skyrocketed.

Let see why you are wrong:
1) champ bags produce materials supply more than gold.

2) an ascended set costs about 800-1000 considering weapons and armors, adding the crafting it would cost even more.
You need a PvE set and WWW set and then there are alts.
At a given point you will probably want also skins that agaon costs a lot to craft

How many players produce that much GOLD (without considering materials) in the gamelife time?

Gold sinks are already in game….

The TP is not a gold sink is just player’s wealth leech.
The purpose of TP would be make gold value stable to give players a chance to earn gold to buy what they need…. the TP is failing at that

Reason number 1:
You are FORCED to get what you need on the TP.
You can t realistically get what you need outside the tp.

There are not only 1c fake orders.
There are also people who up the bids with 50-200 gold for few hours to push the min offer.

As anyone outbid they remove until the price get low again and proceed again.

Why on earth would you outbid an offer by 200 if not to push the price?
Most of times would be easier even to “buy now”…

And its not something new…..

It happens even on low value goods they put a single item at a real low price in the hope someone buy a stack at way higher price.

All things that would not happen in real economy.

I don t really like this, but i ll gladly have more.

What i strongly dislike is they make hard to understand professions at first glance.

Thus they doesn t work in PvP….. BUT they work in WWW -.-
